I received a survey from MOVATI app regarding my satisfaction on my last visit.

I placed a one star rating because classes like kettlebell and power barbell are packed with 38-40 per class. People using heavy weights during class barely have two step distance.

A group fitness manager from the Mississauga location reached out to me to inquire regarding the issue and when I described it, she replied: capacity is set by head office based on square footage, and asked to reach out to the head office.

I will be calling the head office today but also would like to leave a review as I have raised this safety concern in the club itself and it fell on deaf ears. I don’t mind being crammed among other 40 people in a dance or a bar class, but it it a problem when there are heavy weights involved.

Update: Movati has come through and recognized the loyalty I've had. I'm able to keep my current membership at a new location. Back to being a happy member.

Long term, loyal member. Membership based out of London, but just moved to Kanata. My membership allows me to go anywhere, but it's being canceled with the London closures. No loyalty discount available to joining the Kanata location, despite being a member since 2008.

I'll take my business elsewhere, even if the membership will cost more elsewhere, simply on principle.

Do better, Movati.

Been a member of Movati Athletic for 15 years in London Ontario. The staff and community there were unparalleled. Unfortunately, Movati decided to close their doors, giving everyone 30 hours notice including staff that they were shutting down both London locations, all while collecting new memberships the day prior. Incredibly unprofessional. They don't care about communities, or you as an individual. They just want your money and will drop you when they get it. It's OK, you'll get a completely cold/ impersonal email when it's all said and done.

Be careful when purchasing the membership. It is hard to cancel. Even in the time of Covid-19, they kept charging. When I expressed my willingness to come back when it is safe, they did not stop charging.

Scammed me into signing a contract, found out they lied to me and tried to get out and now I have creditors calling me for over $800 after I never used their gym NOT ONCE! Tried calling head office multiple times, no answer. Now their mailbox has been full for past month. Worst GY EVER!

I love Movati in Ottawa, the best location is the one in Kanata. The GM is always visible and working with his team. You can see him checking every detail in the facility. It is the best kept and cleanest in all of Ottawa. I love to see this guy working at the front desk with his team and taking care of clients.
In the other hand, Movati at the Trainyards is a real disappointment all the time I go. There is always something broken (Not hot water, hot tub broken, pool not clean, pool clock not working, messy, etc.) I have noticed all these details in the last 5 years going to that location. Another thing I don't get is why this Movati shuts down the coed pool for cleaning, for a whole hour. The other locations in town do it for just 30 minutes, and the cleaning is way superior to the Trainyards, always! After being at this location one more time today, I just know I will never comeback to this particular facility. You really need to do something about it.

Give you a very hard time if you try to cancel. All the contract asks is for 30 day notice, however they will refuse to end your contract.

Good luck trying to get any answers from Movati head office. The management at the Waterloo and Guelph Movati locations are lazy and useless, the general managers and area manager needs to be fired for gross incompetence. Many members of both clubs have reached out to head office with well documented issues but nothing is done

Please be warned that when joining Movati's there are promo's and they have very short expiry dates.why they offer them is to make you feel good. Until you go to use them. I should have gone with the one month free so I could see if this club is for me. You have been warned.not happy

Difficult to find head office number. Don't allow ratings or comments on Facebook page I wonder why.signed a 1 year contract 6 years ago. Lost my job called to cancel they refuse to handle business over the phone likely to avoid being recorded. Missed 1 payment of 25 dollars was nsfed everyday for 2 weeks. Went in to cancel said that they can't print the form. I have no trouble paying my bill but holding me hostage to continue services I'm not bound to?

Even the bank suggested this can't be legal so they charged the nsfs back and closed my bank account. Called head office 25 times left messages with accounts payable with no response. Went back to the location for information.
Was told forms cannot be printed to accounts with a balance. My contract cannot be provided. The terms I am supposedly under to continue service outside my 1 year cannot be provided. Also the consumer right of being able to freeze this service I apparently signed away before it existed cannot be provided.

So basically they will hold you on unknown terms using methods that require you to receive information only in ways that restrict them being accountable or liable. They will not put anything in writing they will not speak to you in public. Leaving you only the option of paying at their location or being sent to collections and not being able to prove you've made any communication.

Dirty dirty business. Never seen such a mess of legal loopholes to take money they provide nothing in return for. Horrible customer service I'd never suggest getting mixed up with this company there's other places to workout that are nice who don't use mob style business ethics.

Horrible customer service for new members, we (my wife and I) wanted to take a tour in the Burlington location, we mentioned to the person in we didn't have much time and we just wanted to look at the pool (the only thing we care about), He took all our information and then he handed us a long questionary. We said we didn't want to waste our time putting all this data when we just wanted to see a small part of the facility, he reply that we had to do a 45 minute tour either way.we ask if he could show us the pool only, he said no and replay "fill the questionary and do the 45 minutes tour". We left the GYM after 10 minutes of discussion and we didn't see any facilities.

A day later a woman call us from Movati, to ask us about our experience, we told them we did not see the GYM because time constraints and lack of consideration. She did not acknowledge that we were irritated by the experience, and keep selling us the Movati like an old car salesmen. I told her that we were not happy with the first and second impression and we were not longer interested in Movati, but she keep challenging me with why I took that decision and kept asking questions that were personal and I was in no mood to answer. I doubt they have a customer service manager that has properly trained their staff.

I WALKED IN BURLINGTON LOCATION AND SPOKE TO JOSH, HE ASSURED ME IF I DONT LIKE THE GYM USING IT UP TO 10 DAYS I WILL BE REFUNDED, I PAID 1009 DOLLARS FOR 1 YR, I SPOKE TO SOMEONE THAT SAME NIGHT OF JOINING AND THEY SAID TO STAY AWAY, SO I DROVE BACK IN 1 HOUR, I WAS TOLD TO BRING MY VISA CARD BACK, WHEN I GOT THERE, JOSH AND AND ASSOCIATE, SHELLY SAID THEY CANT REFUND ME, IT ISNT IN THE SYSTEM SO, I DID NOT GET THE MONEY, THEY SAID 3 TO 5 DAYS, I CALLED BACK IN 4 DAYS, THEY SAID 2 WEEKS AND NOW I WILL GET A CHEQUE, I CALLED 2 DAYS AGO WHICH IS MORE THAN 2 WEEKS, NOW THEY ARE SAYING 6 WEEKS, AND STILL HAVENT GOT MY MONEY,
