Mr Big's

2023-12-15_OMG! Went for the Jerk Pork dinner special for lunch again today. Did not forget to ask for oxtail gravy on the rice and peas. This place did not miss one beat. The pork was just as fall-apart and juicy and seasoned as the last time, if not better. The coleslaw was fresh and went so well with the rice and peas, with an oxtail gravy that was simply amazing. Might have to make a special trip for lunch during my holiday break from work. As always, Mr. Big's is a MUST!

2023-11-30_Decided to try the Jerk Pork dinner for lunch. OMG!

I thought that their Jerk Chicken was amazing. However the Jerk Pork is on a whole different level. The pork was a combination of moist and dry pieces of pork with other fatty pieces.

And the spice level was on point with the all-familiar jerk seasoning and a slight little kick. All this on top of rice and peas (this time I did ask for oxtail stew sauce on top of the rice) and tasty coleslaw.

I will definitely be treating myself again to the Jerk Pork dinner. The whole meal was amazing.

Always looking for a great Caribbean/Jamaican restaurant to get lunch and get my fix for jerk chicken and rice and peas.

Came across reviews of Mr. Big's online and decided to get my lunch here. I ordered the large jerk chicken dinner combo (half chicken on a bed of rice and peas and side of fresh slaw) and a spicy beef patty.

The chicken was very juicy and flavourful, with an amazing jerk seasoning flavour. It was literally pull apart in texture. The rice and peas was filling and tasty but just a tad dry. However that was my fault as I forgot to ask if they could spoon some of the stewing liquid from the oxtail stew on the rice. And the slaw was great, not soggy or dry but fresh and crisp.

As for the beef patty.well.it was average tasting at best. Suffice it to say that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a decent beef patty in the GTA these days.

I would highly recommend coming to Mr. Big's for a great tasting meal. Looking forward to trying their Jerk Pork dinner next.

Ordered from Uber eats. Very small portion of ackee provided, it’s almost as if they didn't have enough food to fulfill the order … they should have just cancelled the order instead of charging me full price.

Food is always on point, no matter what you order. (I've never tried anything pork related, but everything else I can speak for)

10/10 absolutely recommend, food was fresh and great portions.

I have to take away 2 stars in this rating because despite the food being good, the coleslaw is the reason I drive to Wanda's and don't order from here. Creamy coleslaw is an absolute MUST to balance the meal. Please update your vegetable shavings that should not count as coleslaw!

This is HANDS DOWN my favourite jerk chicken spot in Mississauga. The jerk chicken here is actually spicy - which is how I like it. The price is also great for the amount of food you get.
What’s better than the jerk chicken here? The OX Tail! I absolutely love their ox tail dinner. I highly recommend it.
Something that is not on their online menu - Festivals ($1.00 each). These were really good but they are very greasy.

I recently started working in the area and asked a coworker for a recommendation. Boy did they not disappoint! Food was amazing, chicken fell off the bone. Fast, and very friendly staff and great music! Def coming back for more!:)

Great find. Food has been consistently delicious and flavorful. I wish the rice to meat ratio was a little better. Service is always just fine.

You need to be patient. It's a small store with a small staff, and understandably, they get very busy. Especially at lunch but you get served pretty fast.

They're fairly quick, efficient, polite and friendly. Even when they're on the phone taking many orders they will signal to you and serve you as soon as they get off the phone.

I really enjoy coming here.

Been a customer here for almost 8 years. The chicken is juicy, falls off the bone and if you ask for extra ox tail gravy they always bless it. If you’re tryna eat good after the gym this is the spot.

I love coming here, if I could have it everyday I could. Affordable, delicious tasting food provided by great staff who has customers leaving very happy.

Came here for the $7 jerk chicken lunch special. For $7 this is an incredible value which rivals some of the best in the GTA.

I enjoyed the food very much! If you love Jamaican food, you will love Mr. Bigs I was in the area for work (3x) and I went to grab a bite. So worth it! I got the jerk chicken special, and it was juicy, not dry. The flavour was smokey and rice was fluffy! I also tried the beef patty and it was great! Texture and spicy I'm so picky when it comes to eating out and this place is definitely on my top list. Next time I go back, I'm trying the oxtail lol. 10/10

We grabbed food from this restaurant last night, I got the jerk chicken meal and my husband got the oxtail. We really enjoyed it, the chicken was so tendered and juicy falling off the bone! I will definitely be back.

Very rude person working at the cashier. I only ask her for a plastic fork she was rude answering me that she gave my kids two forks and it s only one fork per meal so if it falls down from us should we be punished and eat with our hands because she decided not to give us a plastic fork or should I bring my fork with me

O M G! Definitely recommend going to this restaurant! The ox tail and jerk chicken was amazing! The spices they used are so flavourful! Rice and peas was also amazing! Very friendly ladies.

Food was okay (just lacklustre) but the service was awful. Making us Jamaicans look bad for real. Came from out of town and spent 70$ on food but decided not to dine-in based on how this lady rudely addressed us and couldn’t be bothered to answer a simple question for our order. It’s a restaurant not a drive thru, treat paying customers like paying customers. Worst part is we got home and food was not even par! I wonder if they prioritize giving attitude over giving good food? I love giving business to my own people when eating out, but will 100% be spending my money elsewhere next time I decide not to cook.

I cannot count the number of Jerk Chicken and Fry Chicken lunch specials I have had from Mr. Big's. Each and every time the quality, taste, and price simply cannot be matched - definitely would recommend to anyone.
