Mr Delicious by the Beach

I normally just have Lemon Pepper chicken wings and fries at Mr. Delicious because it’s soooooo delicious. This visit I tried the fish and chips and it was really good. The tartar sauce was delicious and one of a kind with regards to the flavour.
This visit I also decided to have some dessert. I asked Glen, the owner, to choose the dessert for me…. To surprise me. He brought me the Deep Fried Cheesecake. This cheesecake was beyond delicious. It was warm, creamy with a crispy outer layer…. Omg so good. I have to say Mr. Delicious came thru.
I truly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be going back.

I visited Mr Delicious for dinner and drinks tonight with friends. The food was incredible! We started with samosas that had filling of ackee and salfish. It was an interesting fusion and was enjoyable to eat. The jerk chicken was full of flavor, and the presentation was very pleasing. The lemon cake we had for desert was the perfect combination of the creamy topping and tartness from the lemon filling. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. I definitely will be back.

This was our first time at Mr. Delicious and will definitely be going back! The food was fantastic and the service was even better! The ambiance was perfect we were able to take our time eat chat and catch up without feeling rushed.

Ordered take out tonight as a first time patron. Heard good things about the food. The food didn’t disappoint. We all had Jerk Chicken dinners. The dinner came with rice and peas, corn, a festival and a piece of plantain. The meal also comes with a salad with mango, blueberries and goat cheese. Everyone really enjoyed their food.

The staff are all very friendly but tonight seemed overwhelmed. It took about 20 minutes to place our order and another 50 get our food. The waitress and a gentleman I believe to be the owner apologized several times.

While this is much longer than I would normally wait I will be back and will dine in next time. Lots of other things to try.

Chef Glen and team know good food, good service and a good time! I was a regular when they were located on Liverpool and have made a point to check out their new spot more regularly as the atmosphere and decor are all island vibes. If you’re looking for that authentic Jamaican flare with fun, you have to check them out! Oh and their pastries too!

So disappointed in this restaurant especially being a Caribbean place. The food is overpriced I paid $22 for curry goat and the portion was small as heck and it wasn’t even fresh, felt like I got served food that was sitting there and got heat up in the microwave and even then the food wasn’t hot. $10 for side jerk chicken that was one piece cut into three.very disappointing unsatisfying did not enjoy it all n the fact I spent $82 dollars in a Jamaican restaurant for basically 1 meal a side and 4 drinks kmt nonsense!

This is my third time going to Mr. Delicious and it has been a great experience every time! The food is incredible, the atmosphere is amazing and the staff are incredible. Renee has been my server every time I’ve gone and she is so sweet and attentive. The owners also come to check in and see how you’re doing as well, the food comes with such a nice presentation and everything I’ve tried has been great. I would 10000% recommend Mr. Delicious!

I had a wonderful time here and was introduced by friends in the area.

The atmosphere, service, and food was exceptionally good.

The menu had most of the standard caribbean-jamaican fare. What caught my eye though is. French pastry? !

Apparently the chef is an (ex?) culinary teacher at George Brown (to confirm).

But it was all really good. Stewed Red Snapper, Lobster Bisque, salads, and the ice creams and cheesecakes were very good. It has that made-fresh taste.

Took some time to talk to the long time customers, the waitress, and the chef. Very kind, pleasant, generous people.

We had a great time. Very highly recommended. Give them a try.

The name speaks for itself! It was absolutely incredible. From when Lorraine put the food on the table we couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was. To top it off our service Lorraine gave was everything you’d hope for and more! It was our first time and it will DEFINITELY be one of our new favourites! Must try!

Very great food. Nice ambiance. Great price and excellent customer service. Great place for date night, night out with friends and they even host parties if you request. This place is a Hidden Gem.

I visited for dinner last night and had a great experience. The staff were all polite and attentive which is not a common thing in most West Indian restaurants. We ordered 2 rum punches, the ackee and saltfish samosa and the Red Pea soup that were all really good! For our entrée we ordered the Jerk Salmon dinner and the Jerk Chicken Dinner. They were both tasty but both dishes tasted more like bbq than jerk. The chicken and salmon were not spicy and did not have the jerk flavor, seasoning and scotch bonnet pepper we were hoping for. Nonetheless it was still good and we appreciated the chef using ripe plantain instead of green plantain in our meals.

Best food in the Pickering/ Ajax area. Chill place, really friendly servers. We went the day after st. Patrick’s, and they were out of a lot of items lol but the food we had was second to none.

What we ate: jerk chicken rice (cause the salmon wasn’t available), jerk chicken samosas. The samosas became soggy by the time we got home, but we’re still tasty.

The food has flavour and is truly delicious. Everything I ate was 10/10. Red pea soup and curry goat samosa were unbelievably amazing. Chicken wing sauce was on point, also flavorful. Looking forward to trying everything on their menu.

Food was delicious! Everything was very flavorful. The service was good and the prices are extremely reasonable. The one downfall was there was quite a few items that they did not have at the time but we were happy with our choices. Looking forward to going back again!

The food at this place is very very delicious one of the best Jamaican food I've had. Very flavourful, had the salmon and shrimp samasos, jerk chicken plate, calamari, mango salad, and coconut ice cream. Everything was perfect.

For a new restaurant you go there and they are closed although their hours are on the door as being open. Not a good show for a new restaurant.

I and my friend had oxtail with rice in the evening after work and I would like to say it is the best ever. At the end, we were served a complimentary pina colada and run punch, it was the best ever. It tasted so nice and smooth. The employee is were also very very hospitable and friendly. We had a great experience so we'll definitely be go back! Me.delightful is the lace to be if you're looking for good vibes and good people.

Very authentic Jamaican food served here. They are no longer right by the beach but this is a plus since there is better parking in the new area. The meal is balanced with salad and a good amount of protein in comparison to rice. They have one of a kind Jamaican ice cream here too. I can't wait to go back!

Omg best samosa I've ever had in my life!
Everything was delicious. You can tell the chef has a passion for cooking.

This spot is a nice spot to go to for a couple of drinks with some friends, the vibe is really chill.
I had the red pea soup, it was ok.could've used more seasoning.
Overall, I recommend this spot for a night out for some great karaoke

OMG. To all the foodies out there, with utmost Love and Respect to best customer service "sara" above and beyond making us feel welcome and extremely accommodating. Her friendliness, kindness and smile was infectious.
SOREL with Rum a must have. Kudos to the chef for sharing the intensity of flavors. From the smokey flavored breadfruit, the fresh crispy mango salad and the stewed juicy brown fish, jerk shrimp.again OMG my taste buds couldn't get enough of these heavenly clean intense flavors. A Jamaican gem out of nowhere. Traveled one and half hour, but worth every kilometers.

I went to this restaurant for the first time today. The food and drinks were amazing! The portions were huge! I had the curly fries and jerk shrimp. I'm excited to go back and try other food as well. I also really liked the vibe. Our server was so sweet and the chef even came out to introduce himself. This is definitely a new go-to for me!

We had a lovely dinner at Mr Delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my jerk chicken and the share platter but be careful not to fill up too much on appies! The main dishes are generous portions and good value!

The samosas and Mango Salad were very tasty appetizers. The stewed oxtail was superb, as was the curry goat. The sorrel cheesecake was a great way to top off a wonderful dining experience. Definitely worth a return visit!

Most of these reviews must be fake; how can anyone in their right mind say the food here is good? Maybe it’s the time of day I went? (Around 7pm). I went based off the reviews and bought their over priced food and had to throw it out! Food was bland, curry goat was old and tasted like I was eating cardboard, rice was old and smelled bad. Everything was just bad and I spent over $60 to get food for me and my gf. My first and last time going here. Don’t be fooled by all the good reviews

A fitting name for this restaurant ; the food is delicious. Ambience is superb and staff is great. Had a nice chat with Chef Glen- he definitely is committed to excellence. We will definitely be back

The best Authentic Caribbean food I had in a long time Mr Delicious was definitely delicious the plating was incredible service amazing will come back finally found restaurant in Durham that brings good food great atmosphere.

The new location at 893 Bayly is even better! Our favourites are the samosas, jerk chicken, wings, curry goat and chicken! We love it so much here we decided to have our micro wedding reception here where chef glen was the most gracious host! All of our guests said they would definitely come back and want this to be a regular family gathering spot! We had so much fun and many guests enjoyed the full bar! I definitely recommend this place if you are celebrating an occasion or want a family dinner! Oh and the dessert menu! Top notch cheesecakes and ice creams made by Chef Glen himself! Great food! Friendly staff! Great music! Awesome location! This place is a gem!

I just had one of my son’s birthday lunch party there. We had chicken dumpling soup, jerk lamb with mango butter rice, Bailey’s cheesecake and the crazy apple cake as the birthday cake. The food is out of this world good. The soup was comforting to the soul, the lamb was delicious to the bone and cakes are perfectly balanced. If I could eat more, I would. All that good food and the warm service, made our day. Thank you!
