Mr. Gao Restaurant 高老庄

I can see why this one got good average rating, since it has been good: we were there in Oct 2022, the food has pretty decent quality and taste.

But, here in Nov 2023, something must be changed, like Sweet & Sour (Guo Bao Rou) pork is NOT like before at all, not crispy at all!

Other dishes are not good either, like beef is actually hard to chew! Portion is smaller than before, kind of creepy!

Smoothing must be changed for worse in their kitchen! It is sad to see they built this good brand (Hamilton location is still quite good, BTW), and had some success and then ruined their brand/reputation!

And I never liked their ordering thru scanning, suggesting people don't need to ask any questions about the dishes or asking for some micro ingredient/taste changes?

They have one of the best skewers if not the best in town. Specially lamb, chicken and shrimp skewers.

Extensive menu of Chinese BBQ skewers, stir fries, clay pot stews and other West China dishes. Ordering via your smartphone replaces the old paper system. The robot server is mostly a gimmick, but fun to watch. Quality ingredients and expert cooking.

The restaurant is divided into two sections, one for large groups, and a quieter one for couples or small groups. Staff is well trained, efficient and friendly. Basic beer selection, with a decent lager on tap. Prices are in line with area restaurants. Plaza parking can get crowded over the weekend. Two handicapped spots not far from the entrance, and seating is wheelchair-friendly.

The skewers were so juicy and flavourful. The lemon juice was fresh and refreshing. The shrimp fried rice was tasty. The waiter robot was cute.

Would definitely come again.

A Legend Chinese food restaurant. We visited four days in a week. The lamb skewers and the lamb soup are the best in town.

Very nice experience. There weren’t many people so we were able to have a good service and great food. Their tea is very tasty as well!

The servers were very polite so that’s a plus. The food was very underwhelming, the skewers didn’t even taste as good as the ones you’d get at a random night market, and our main dish (beef brisket on rice) was very salty and just didn’t taste that good.

The taste of the dishes is not at the level of a restaurant at all. The fish-flavored shredded pork tastes wrong. Most of the Chongqing spicy chicken is fried noodles, which is worse than ordinary home cooking. It is not recommended

Good place to eat kebabs and drink beer in Missy. The meat in the pot and the mutton are strong. The environment is also very clean

Cool Robot. Even serve by robot the real waitress is very friendly and helpful. The food is good too. Today is my first time with very good impression. I will come back.

I order their 香锅黔之鸡 once or twice a week. It tastes so delicious and they cooked it follow my special notes. Today, I ordered pork with pickles dumplings, I really regret because I regret I ordered only 12 pieces but not 24 pieces! Because the dumplings taste so amazing and I can eat 24 pieces! I miss my mom and my hometown in China. The dumplings taste similar to my mom's cook, which heals my homesick.

Food made quickly, great place to grab your authentic chinese food cravings. Better to go in bigger groups to enjoy more dishes.

Me and my girlfriend came here late night as a last resort because hot pot had too long of a line. Overall the experience was good, maybe I will visit again to try other menu items.

The good value tasty food keeps us coming back. $18 for a 2 liter beer is excellent value. The cat robot "waitress" is a nice touch. Tip: pay on cash and save 10% here. So bring cash!

For those who did not like the robot, shame on you. It was cute and polite!

Ordered skewers when served, the server didn’t even care to tell us which is which. We order chicken, beef, pork, and lamb.so yeah we have to guess which meat we are eating.hot and sour doesn’t taste hot and sour soup. For skewers all i can taste are the spices. Chicken feet not good too.

Always good food, so far I've been here more than 5 times and not a single dish was not good. They have robots to serve you dishes sometimes which is cool. The interior is clean and Chinese style. Only thing I don't like is QR code menu, still prefer the paper version.
