The present personells working at Mr.jerk 's restaurant located at Airport road is good. No talking over your food while preparing ur food. Hygiene is very important in such setting. Food tastes good. Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen.
Stopped there today. Me and my boy ordered food larg king fish & large jerk chicken was cold after the server asked to warm it up it still came out cold and she still served it anyways. OMFG.
Then there was one server with a mean MUG face with no customer services skills what so ever SMFH.
And what jerk restaurant don’t have jerk sauce for the love of GOD and your called your self mr Jerk.
I don’t want fukN oxtail gravy on my got damm jerk chicken I ate but was dissatisfied.
Lazy and rude ladies serving, they seem angry and misreable but great food, I dont know much about Jamacian food but someone suggested me to go try them I liked the food but the experience was negative
I'm only giving it a 4 star because I want a more fatty pork, it needs to be. Otherwise some of it is dry. Yes, complaining that it's too lean. I've been eating from that location since it opened inad its always been the best.
Since I've been working at the airport (10 years now) I've visited here quite a few times. The pork used to be amazing, consistent, flavorful, and fresh.
However, since they changed ownership, it's nowhere near the same. Pork is usually dry, overcooked, tasteless, and the fact that they're weighing out the meat portion, is enough for me to turn away. They never used to do this, the original crew used to load up the container to the point where it almost couldn't close.
I guess, unfortunately, all good things come to an end.
I highly suggest trying Hopeton (family owned), and real authentic jerk (they barbeque the chicken out front during the summer in a drum, like they do in Jamaica) much better options, who are consistent. Both of these restaurants are right down the street from Mr. Jerk, highly worth the detour.
Worst service I've received. The lady behind the counter had a round about way of answering all my questions. Can't wait for these guys to go out of business; one less terrible Jerk place to skim through. By the way your food sucks as well no flavor, no service, and it certainly shows.
I've had mister jerk before and it's original location in scarborough And downtown This is by far the worst one the food is dry. Not to mention as I was leaving I seen pair of Cockroaches would never go back ever again.
Ok first of all the customers in line changed the line up.yes they decided to make the lineup opposite of how its been for decades even since the previous owners.it was weird and nonsense. The girl that served me was great, excellent portion of food, but then the machine broke down even before I got to the register yet still they didn't tell anyone and we had to wait to pay for our food. It was not pleasant to have to wait to pay. The dumplings were nice I didn't so much enjoy the jerk as I expected to. Great portions comparable prices bust the seasoning was a bit lacking. The whole experience was a bit lacking.
So disappointed this time. The jerk chicken was over cooked very dry. It was so dry there was not eatible meat on the whole chicken that I bought. It went into the garbage, thank goodness I also purchased some oxtail.
Hands down! Best Jerk chicken in the entire peel region and beyond. Been going there for over 15 years and I've been pleased %99.9 of the time. %. 01 is need improvement in customer service skills for some staff. Half chicken dinner is my favorite.especially with the hot sauce. Can't find this anywhere else and trust me. I've tried. I am over an hour drive away now.but I don't mind the drive.it's worth it for me.
Purchased a small order of oxtail, goat soup and 1 festival. The oxtail tasted off. It tasted more like wash down stew chicken than oxtail. There was approximately 1 tablespoon of meat that was eatable in the entire meal.it was 95% fat on the bone. The soup wasn't the best it didn’t have goat flavour and it was extremely spicy. The festival was good. Why I gave a 1 star. The cashier was sluggish and she acted as though I was bothering her. When asked questions she barely wants to answer. She would just point when asked a question. Customer service failure on todays Order. Never again. I will add pictures if I can.
Absolutely terrible pork dinner! At least 80% fat and ended up throwing most of it out. What a waste of money. And even though there may be new management, the same rude staff works there.never again.
This is the number one place I go to for jerk pork. The taste is just what I expect. I can only handle a small jerk pork lunch though because they pack up the food container with enough food. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Among the best jerk pork in TO for sure. Service needs work for sure, but the food alone gets 4 stars, and the fact we can pay with debit now instead of forced atm by cash only.
Ja man, dis take mi back to cookups in the north of Toronto. Huge servings, rice 'n' peas so nice, perfect amount of spice. Next time I'm getting some Ox tail.
I haven't eaten at this location in many many years. I was shocked to see how the service was SLOW! One of the staff was dragging her feet as if there weren't four people in line waiting. There was a roach crawling on counter. I ordered the Jerk Pork some and pieces were burnt and hard definitley not edible. Rice and Peas was ok could of used a bit more flavor. Not the Mr Jerk I remembered many many years ago. You're better off going to the Wellesley St or Lawrence Ave W location WAAAYYYYYY BETTER!
The chicken and pork had a authentic taste. Rice and gravy was not my taste may be yours. Busy place. Suprise was all meat are weighted and charged per pound.
The food is very good. But I cant stand the slow service coz their busy talking and taking their time. What kind of business is this? People are hungry and in a hurry
On the evening of Friday, April 23,2021, I left my workplace in Toronto. I was indecisive of what to eat and where to go. Finally, I decided to travel west to Derry Rd and Goreway via Mississauga.
Before I entered this restaurant, there was was a restriction of capacity. Luckily, it was not busy. As I entered, I immediately noticed that the staff was busy due to orders of Skip the Dish/Uber Eats. Finally, I was greeted by an oriental woman who was kind to take my order - Fried chicken w/ rice & peas. As I walked to the cashier. $6.75. HALLELUJAH!
I salute the entire team that continue the legacy of serving jerk. Also, I applaud ALL the workers that are working during this challenging pandemic.
Loves mr jerk nicely made portion of food wish they had more to offer in way ordering combos like a pop or bag of chips anyway great to go for quick lunch ladies are kind
I hated the childish attitude of the young workers. It felt like they were mocking everyone. When I asked the one girl who was serving the food to wear a mask because she kept talking to her friend and laughing while standing over the food, she said that she didn't have to, and rolled her eyes. I walked out like any self respecting individual would. Plenty of jerk food in this town elsewhere.
I've always liked Mr. Jerk. Many"Caribbean" restaurant and non "Caribbean" restaurant offer jerk chicken, some are good, some are bad, but Mr. Jerk has the best jerk pork in town. I've tried Mr. Jerk in North York Peanut Plaza, which is my favorite, I've tried Mr. Jerk downtown, which is fine but the homemade hot sauce isn't as outstanding as the others, and finally I got the chance to try this Mississauga location. The food was pretty good, homemade hot sauce was also pretty good, not as good as peanut plaza but better than the downtown branch. However, customer service was non-existent. I guess the business is just so good that the lady does not give a dime about you, even if you just $80 bucks on 5 take out dinners. As some others have pointed out, there is no coleslaw available when I visited this place - aright at noon, an hour after they opened. I start to doubt whether they have ever had it available at all. Yes you do get the choice to have some pathetic green leafs and tomatoes, but would you take this total insult to the jerk chicken and jerk pork dinner you just purchased? The portion is big, but please lady, for the love of jerk, put a little more efforts in and prepare some coleslaw to compliment your dinners. Do not insult Caribbean food with lettuce and tomato with no dressings and hope that people will just take it like that. I'm here to tell you that these details, no matter how little and unimportant to you, has an impact on your customers.
