5 star for service and the fact they are serving pomfret and king fry totally Mumbai style. Malvani sukka was really good. King wish curry was spicy and tasty. Pomfret albeit expensive missed the mark in terms of flavor. I wish it had masala coated through, maybe slit horizontally. Full marks for it being fresh. Loved it. Chicken lollipop could have also had punchy flavors but decent overall. I don’t think this place is a 4 but its more 4.5 for me. Pistachio tres leches was good. Almost perfect.

Visited again, loved misal pav and triple schezwan a lot.kairi bhel deserves a try as does the dal khichadi. Their pistachio tres leches seemed different. Sweet and artificially colored. Wouldn’t go back to it. A must try place still.

It has a wonderful atmosphere with just the right amount of class. Our party of 4 had an enjoyable evening. Service was perfect in spite of it being a quiet Monday evening. The variety of food was very good and all the dishes were very tasty and well presented.

We went to the Yonge location for the first time, really good place. We tried the surmai Thali, which comes with a very generous portion of surmai fry + shrimp curry + egg curry + rice chapati. We also ordered the Pomfret fry, which is too good. Definitely recommend this place and will be returning with friends.

Varun’s Review

Food - definitely they are sticking to what they promise, the Mumbai street food. Bombay veg sandwich was decent, felt like the filling needed a little bit more substance, maybe adding mashed chic pea along with potatoes could help probably. Sabudhana vada was decent as well, my personal recommendation is it needs a bit more potatoes into the mix.

Hospitality - we went there during non rush hours, the food was served fairly quick.

Vibe - a little on the classy side.

What did I order? - sabudhana vada and Bombay veg sandwich

Priced right? - I would say very decent, keeping in mind the location.

Visited Mumbaikar during my vacation here in Ontario! Seeing menu items such as Solkadhi, Shrikhand Puri, Misal Pav, Kanda bhaji, Sabudana vada, Vadapav, Momos is way too exciting when you have been living in Canada for a while and only see the typical menu everywhere. We tried Solkadhi, Veg Kolhapuri, Misal Pav, Triple Schezwan Fried rice; and last but not the least Falooda! All the dishes were fantastic and so yummy! Hospitality was great, ambience is very nice and the Bollywood songs in the background are cherry on top! This place felt like we are back in Mumbai! Definitely recommend it to fellow Maharashtrians!

Visited this restaurant especially for the fish thali, had the Pomfret thali, and boy it was delish! The fish was so fresh, the flavors were reminiscent of the typical mumbai malvani thali with fresh solkadi to beat the heat! Chef Ashish and his team cheers to you guys for getting this slice of Mumbai to Toronto!

When here with a friend after their blogto video went viral. Unfortunately the experience for us was quite disappointing. First the food was very salty specially the chilli chicken. We also ordered chicken lollipop which was moderately good and chicken tikka masala which was very tangy and we had to talk to the manager to take that back. I think it might be because of the overwhelming crowd that the location wasn’t prepared for. Will try it another time and hope to have a better experience. Manager was really kind and mindful btw.

Service: good, polite n patient
Parking: street n metered
Location: good
Food: three stars
Sol khadi-salty, goat-a little tough, kebab-not Bombay style, chicken-ok, bhendi masala-nice but katha, naan-good- too much butter!
Overall-good but expensive!

Mumbaikar.yes they live up to the expectations of their name, they indeed make you feel like you are in mumbai. The small key elements of the typical mumbai street-food is present in their dishes. The ambience is great and so is the service. The food is amazing and the options are plenty. In short if you miss your home food and that kind of environment this place is the perfect fit.

Recently visited Mumbaikar, and had the pleasure of trying their Mumbai dishes. I’ve tried Vada pav, misal pav, peshawari chicken tikka kabab, in dessert: pista les treches.

Overall experience was good with satisfying customer service that adds a positive element.

You can visit this place to satisfy your Mumbai taste buds and won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to visit again.

Best misal in town. Ordered vadapav and misal. Both were really good in taste. The only thing that took 1 star away was their pav. Pav seems to be a bit on dyer side and also smaller compared to my previous visit to their other location.ll visit again but hoping they improve on their pav quality.

For someone who is born and raised in Mumbai, this restaurant is pure nostalgia! Mumbaikar at Yonge has a fine decor. Throughout the space you will discover pictures, quotes, and collectibles which represent Mumbai.

With Bollywood tunes in the background, delicious food, and amazing hospitality this place certainly makes you feel at home. Their Vada Pav is highly recommended especially for the super-soft pav and authentic flavour. Their signature speciality dessert: Pistachio Tres Leches is a must have!

Overall it was a wonderful experience and will definitely visit again to try many other dishes!

Authentic Mumbai Food in Toronto.
I recently visited Mumbaikar Restaurant in Toronto and I must say, it's the go-to place for authentic and delicious Mumbai street food. As someone who loves Indian cuisine, I was thrilled to find a restaurant that captures the true flavors of Amachi Mumbai.

The attention to detail in capturing the essence of Mumbai is commendable. The colorful and lively festival frames add a touch of authenticity to the dining environment. It's as if you're stepping into the festive spirit of Mumbai while enjoying delicious food.

I can't express how thrilled I was to finally have a proper vadapav with chutney in Canada. Mumbaikar Restaurant nailed it!

To end the meal on a sweet note, I highly recommend trying the tres leches dessert. It was a heavenly treat that left my taste buds craving more. Trust me, you don't want to miss it!

I highly recommend Mumbaikar Restaurant for anyone seeking a genuine and enjoyable dining experience. It's a hidden gem in Toronto that captures the essence of Mumbai's culinary delights.

The food here will never fail to amaze you. You can’t miss this if you are a true mumbaikar️

Nice location but underwhelming service and food. Very slow service, appetisers came quick followed by a long *yawn* wait for main course. The triple schezwan rice was dry, uncooked and not palatable. Chilli chicken and chicken lollipop were ok, nothing off the top! Definitely not worth a $70 light meal for 2.

Our Cashier was Tanvi, she made our day with her service. Also a girl named Mamali who serviced us was super sweet. Food was excellent, if you are home sick you better come here! #MAHARASHTRIANS Great great job Mumbaikars

I've been a regular here. (Infact you'll see that I posted a review 5 star review for their Bloor location) but today's experience has made things worse.

Both my husband and I are vegetarians rather eggetarians and have never eaten meat in our life. I placed a takeout order for my husband's birthday today. My order included 1 vada pav, 1 paneer tikka and 1 triple schezvan rice (veg) with egg.

I clearly mentioned twice that's everything in my order is veg. After arriving home we enjoyed the vada pav and we're eager to try the triple schezvan rice. However, what we got was chicken schezvan rice with a chicken gravy.

I called the restaurant to let them know but they gave me their standard response saying - next time you order, we will make things right.

It's not about making things right the second time or throwing in a complimentary item, it's about making things right the first time and not ruining a birthday celebration. The paneer was terrible. It was just a high big block of paneer cut into small big blocks marinated with garlic and nothing else.

After this, I sadly won't be going back here again.
