Food tasted good but it was way too dry. Ordered two things, Dosa & Potato Roti… the Dosa itself was ok, not the best but the filling was delicious just the texture of the Dosa was a bit hard and thick… the Roti was same… potato inside was amazing, great flavour, but the Roti itself was thick and hard, I had to dip it in the soup it came with to make it edible. Too bad. If they just fix the texture of the Roti and the Dosa it would be 10/10.
It’s was great experience with the chef Mani himself! Not only the food was great not only the music was great but also the chef’s attitude towards the Coustomer… He just made something for my baby girl and I felt like I am sitting at home and someone reading my mind and getting what my kid will eat! It’s was more than a restaurant experience for me and we are surely going there again with some more friends! We ordered uttapam and it was more than big for us…. And pure soulful food was been served!
Lots of best wishes for you Mani…keep up your awesome smile!
Not sure why it took me so long to try this place but I've ordered a couple times now and it's great! Well priced and delicious. I've gotten the Chana masala roti. Definitely recommend!
I ordered smosa chatt today and found it so delicious and fresh too. Secondly the service was amazing and I specially asked server name. His name was kartik he is very good with customer service. Great experience
One of the best Indian dosa restaurant.we tried Vada samabar and idly Vada combo both are amazing. Panner fried rice is very authentic and moderate spice.
Very delicious and homely food and very excellent, outstanding customer service. I love this place. Very calm and ideal place for a family get together.
New and approved under new management, Mani is just a great guy! Even if you're in the area and don't want to buy food, I'd recommend just dropping by and get a masala or cardamom chai.
I've been to this location under Mani's new management multiple times and they make an astounding butter paneer roti wrap; in fact, I went there again today. My wife is dairy intolerant, so this establishment caters to such people with a variety of options.
This place also has a great Indian ambiance will the smell of incense and wonderful Indian music to accompany your meal. Keep up the good work, Mani and staff!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Okay, so I'm not a big fan of Indian food but my sister loves it, and her and I were in the neighbourhood when she spotted this place. When we got inside, the staff was super friendly and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Honestly, I have no idea what we ate but everything was DELICIOUS! My dish came with rice and a yummy vegetarian (potato, carrots, peppers) /tomato based curry. My sister ordered one with lamb and I wish I got hers to go. Generous portions for two servings each. I will be coming here again!
Not worth the price. Food was not tasty at all. Poorly prepared, I ordered honey garlic cauliflower which was too hard to eat and chana masala roti was not good either. It did not even have proper salt and spices.
So we ordered chilli idli and pav bhaji dosa and the food was so disappointing the chillinidli was completely sweet and stale without any chillies or garlic in it and the pav bhaji dosa was so soggy. We specifically told them to make the portions spicy but it was so bland I mean come on it’s an indian restaurant. Also the pics on their website of the food and the food we got were two completely different dishes. I have attached the pictures
Loved everything in this location of My roti place, especially their new addition PINEAPPLE KESARI. Amazing sambhar and coconut chutney! Felt authentic
Excellent south indian food. We tried the mysore masala dosa and was very impressed. The white coconut chutney and sambar were tasty too! The portion of the dosa is good value for money. The owner was very humble and accommodating! Definitely recommend trying this place out.
This was our first time here for Dosas and will not be our last time. We will definitely be back. Good service, great food with a nice fresh decor. The owner gave us complimentary appetizer for us to share, we will definitely buy this next time!
The food usually tastes good, but they barely get it right. Ask for chicken, get lamb; ask for coke, get Lassi; ask for dessert, get Lassi; Ask for coke, get nothing. They've been on my favourites list on Skip for a while. They're being taken off.
Delicious and customizable to everyone's tastes. The portions are good and the price is more than fair. I enjoyed my mango lassi and lamb vindaloo. My partner got butter chicken and we both left very full with leftovers. Plus they were kind enough to include some puffed dessert and a gulab jamun each! We will be back next time we have a hankering, which will probably be soon given how much we enjoyed our meal.
We came 30 mins before closing and they were short staffed (only Mani (owner) working). He made the best and tastiest idly sambhar & Chennai chicken fry despite the stress. Really recommend this place!
Yep, I had a great time here. The staff were friendly and suggested a veggie and meat Dosa option for me. I went with the veg, and I was not disappointed. Lightly and flavorfully spiced veggie stuffing, crispy and delicious Dosa and some great side sauces/chutneys. The staff checked in with me to see how I was doing and offered to top up my side sauces free of charge. The dining area was clean, the music was present but not a bother and created a cultural ambience. Overall, great experience and I would definitely visit again, and recommend it to anyone else who likes Dosas!
I ordered for takeout and have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. The food was beautifully packaged and tasted so authentic. An encouraging note from the restaurant certainly brightened my day after a challenging day at work.
The curry sauce was very tasty and portions generous. We saved half for another meal. The honey garlic cauliflower was amazing! Will definitely order again.
Awesome food. We just loved it. Mani’s service is very appreciative. I will surely recommend to visit at least once. I am definitely gonna go back there.
Delicious indian foooods Goood Customer service I like Chicken butter and everything All Customer service team are Verry Nice more Respect and Goood Explanation Verry Fast Service I really liked Too more -
My first time visit to "My Roti place". Although the butter chicken roti is the signature dish, i ordered the hakka chilly lamb roti and it was absolutely delicious. It comes with gulab jamun and easily serves 2. Tried the honey garlic cauliflower as well and loved it too. Would definetly come back to try more. Wish they open an outlet in Mississauga.
I start with my background (Sri Lankan) as I have awesome parents who cook authentic South Indian Food. So, going out to eat south Asian food is not always my preference. I must say that I was very sceptical about a fast food Indian place. I continue to be surprised and impressed with the food that comes out of My Roti place. I’ve got my food from both the Jane location and have also have frequented the Queens Quay and both have been consistently great! I love the Sambar (Dal Stew) they give with the Dosa as a side soup. It’s super tasty with a bit of a spicy kick! The Dosa with potatoes is what I’ve ordered and is quite good. My go to is the Lamb Vindaloo (med spice level) inside a roti. This is simply dynamite! I really hope they keep the food consistent as they grow and also wish they published their ingredient.while I believe it may be healthy. I simply don’t know.
Both curries, kofta and eggplant, that I ordered were perfect with the right amount of spice and heat. The description matches accurately and the service is fantastic. Highly recommend for some good authentic Indian food in the Bloor West Village area.
Excellent roti and good value for money. Had the chicken roti with ‘mom’s classic curry’ and medium spice level. Spicy and flavourful without being overwhelming. Large pieces of chicken. There were no potatoes in mine but not sure if that’s intended in their recipe.
First time trying a roti place, as well as first time trying Indian food I don’t eat spicy AT ALL in general, but today I’ve decided to give this place a try and honestly I believe I couldn’t have found a better place for a 1st experience! Very friendly staff doing their best to accommodate our tastes and allergies! Very fresh, flavorful roti dishes! My kale roti with tofu and mild creamy nutty korma was enjoyable even for someone not used with any levels of spice. We will be back.
Third time this has happened - ordered turmeric roti (+$1), gets regular roti.
I won’t be going back again.
Edit: All three times I ordered in store, so it’s not a miscommunication issue when they did charge me the extra $1. The last time was last night, where I asked the guy working there in the face if they had turmeric roti in stock and he said yes to my face.
Was hoping to actually make this “my dosa place” but I don’t think it will be. We had the medhu vada, masala dosa, and tofu muttar dosa. The allergen friendly menu is greatly appreciated (vegan and gluten free). Vada had a great texture but the flavour was disappointing. This was confirmed by the whole peppercorns in them (which left such an unpleasant taste). The masala dosa’s filling was very bland and somehow watery. This was a shame, since the masala dosa is usually a signature item at a dosa place by which one can judge the quality of all other dishes. The tofu muttar dosa was quite good, and it was clear that the filling was made fresh (they offered it since they were out of kale for their tofu kale dosa). Also disappointed that no coconut chutney was served on the side by default (if we knew it wouldn’t, we’d order it separately). Might give this place another chance for the tofu muttar, but I won’t be rushing back any time soon; too bad, I was really hoping to!
I just visited this place today in the evening. Had a mango lassi and biriyani. Real indian taste I had today. Fresh food and amazing taste. Cashier was so nice with us. Fully Satisfied.
Also the uttappam was really made in the most tasteless way - the thickest and worst one that I have ever tasted in the GTA so far! Had to throw it after eating a few bites; don't ever order the uttapam here, guys! The vada was just about okay.
Moreover, the order wasnt going through on their website and cash is the only payment method available for home delivery
