My REZ on Lester

Pretty great place to live, signed a 3 year lease back in 2022.some pros:
- apartment building quality is pretty good, never had anything big break
- maintenance requests are dealt with pretty fast
- location is great
- wifi is super fast for work or gaming

some cons:
- no oven (not a big deal because i don’t really bake)
- if you don’t catch the early bird pricing it can be very expensive (i’m paying 880 but wouldn’t pay the 1000+ they’re charging now)
- ac shuts off in mid october when you still get really hot days at times

overall, a pretty great place to live.i am very happy that i chose to live here.all complaints i have are minor and don’t really bother me.

Disaster with the payment system, zero customer service for accounts, everyone steals everything from the lobby

No Dishwasher. No Oven. Temperature is wildly inconsistent. The apartment would reach 27+ degrees in the summer with poor ventilation in the apartment so you're being suffocated (turning A/C on full blast 24/7 for a couple of days is the only way to fix this). Only one small recycling room in a massive building with 17 floors so it's always full and gross. Just today the fire alarm went off at 3am, 4.30am and 6.00am, no way of turning it down from breaking my ear drums in my room. 3 times in one night. Apartment/rooms are not cleaned properly for movein. The wifi is poverty level, 100kb dl speed, really? Constant buffering if you're streaming shows/movies. At least there's no roach or bug problems from what I experienced, pretty much the only positive.

Great place to live at! Management is good and on top of things, service requests are addressed very efficiently and the staff has been very nice as well.

One of the better managements in Waterloo. Close proximity to campus, nice facilities, prompt responses to maintenance requests, friendly community with management often giving out free treats. Ensuite laundry which is a huge plus imo. Would definitely recommend.

Good and clean apartment. In suite laundry is really nice to have and the staff keeps common areas clean

Great place to stay! This is my second term staying at 181 Lester and I must say it’s the best student condo out of the ones I’ve stayed in.

There are a few reasons why I like living here and they are
1. Great lounge - I don’t have to head outside to find the gym or a study area
2. Close to the ION LRT stop and bus stops
3. Fair price

The only downsides I can think of is sometimes it takes a while for the elevator to come…

Great place to live in! Amenities are great, there’s a gym and a study space on the top floor.the living space and kitchen is spacious.even has a washer and dryer in unit which is very convenient!

Honestly, this has been one of the best living experiences at Waterloo. The management is 5 stars! They are super helpful and maintenance requests are fulfilled within a week tops. Compared to a lot of complaints I've heard from friends living at other buildings on Lester, this has been heaven. The rooms are spacious, come with desks and beds, the suites are just nice in general. The lounge upstairs is always clean and a nice study spot. The gym is also very convenient. Being the closest to the ion is also super useful when getting to University or going uptown. Overall, great value for the rental prices.

Honestly loved this place, out of any residence, these guys cared the most about their tenants.

Terrible terrible place. My car has been broken into not once but twice in their underground parking garage and they did nothing to help catch the guy or change security measures. Not only is management terrible with communicating they just make you deal with your issues yourself. Multiple packages of mine has been stolen and they do not bother to look into it. Delivery men are suppose to put it in the delivery room but management allows them to just drop it off in the lobby. The apartments are nice but has no dishwasher or ovens so you can’t bake anything. They don’t leave the apartments clean when you move in so warning you have to clean everything before you move in. 90% of the time the recycling room is full so you can’t even throw your recycling out. The worst part of management is that they really don’t care about your safety. How is it that my car has been broken into various times and yet they don’t care to look at security cameras or change security measures in order to prevent it. I pay 90 bucks a month extra to park my car in a safer area…don’t move into this place. Not only is it expensive it’s just not worth it.

I have just moved in to MyRez on Lester about a month and a half ago. My experience so far has been nothing but smooth sailing. The management and front desk representatives are so welcoming and helpful, and the environment as a whole is super student-friendly and has such a fun atmosphere. All amenities on the 18th floor have always been clean and tidy, and the community is very welcoming! The water is always hot and everything in the suite has been up to par! Awesome job guys:)

It is a great place to stay especially for UW students, very comfortable, close to the ION and university shops.

Since I started living here, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience! Everyone is kind and accommodating. The rooms are nice and have plenty of space. The location of the building is also very convenient with the ION, and both UW and WLU within walking distance. The amenities that the building offers are also amazing! I would highly recommend staying here for anyone who is looking for somewhere to live.

My Rez on Lester has been such a great place to live at. The facilities are amazing and it’s very close to campus. Everyone in the office is very nice. They always make their best effort to ensure the best off campus experience.

My experience has always been positive with this place. I have been living here since first year, and now I've graduated. Never thought of moving away. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Lived at 181 Lester for 3 years. Never had a problem here that wasn't quickly resolved. Both management and the maintenance team are extremely responsive. Most things have been addressed within 24 hours, maybe a little longer if it's the weekend, but you bet it's the first thing they attend to on Monday. (I've never had an emergency issue, so I've never had to see how fast they respond to emergencies). Most of the time, the guy coming to fix the problem is Cornel, who's always been pleasant to talk to, but such conversations are often short because he is so efficient and has another task elsewhere in the building to attend to after finishing his work in our unit.

Also lived here since the beginning of the pandemic and neither me nor my 4 roommates had shown symptoms during that time, so maybe it's our immune systems or our social distancing habits, but even after using elevators and door handles every other day, we've been asymptomatic (I never got tested and I don't know if my roommates have either). So that suggests that sanitation procedures are still top of their game at myRez on Lester.

Great place especially for students of the University of Waterloo or Wilfrid Laurier University.

Corey - The Leasing Coordinator is the best guy.
Although, we’ve never had any troubles in the MyRez buildings, but the management people are great and helpful in every sense.

I lived at MyRez for a year and quite enjoyed it. Management is great (especially Corey), it’s easy to sublet, rooms are big and furnished, and the in-suite laundry is great. Maintenance guy is great & gets stuff done quick. My only complaints were there’s no oven, only a microwave that supposedly works as an oven, the recycling room was often full, and the back door by the parking lot always has a weird smell. Other than that, great building and great management!

Management is outstanding especially Corey, the rooms were wonderful and quite. Would totally recommend!

The rooms are very spacious and the management is very helpful and easy to reach. Study area and the gym are the best places in this building.

The maintenance man Cornell is the best! Always get stuff done on time and a cheerful individual. He's probably the main reason I stayed here throughout my undergrad. The building itself is great as well, staff are overall all friendly and responsive.

I recently came into a situation that I needed to move quickly for business from Toronto to Waterloo, I found MyRez online and gave a call in. I was extremely blessed and lucky to be connected with the property Manager Corey Langan! He really helped me out, went above and beyond to get me in contact with potential sublets in a turnaround time of less than 30 minutes. He really alleviated a lot of stress, and allowed me to focus on the move as opposed to where I would be going. I have been here for three days now, and Corey has checked in with me to see if I need anything, even coming in on the weekend to see my move was seamless. I would 100% recommend MyRez to another individual, as the Management team are super friendly, respond very quickly, and are super positive. Thank you Corey for your professionalism and proactive approach, making business decisions during a crisis is stress inducing, this was not! The rooms are a good size, the all in costs are a plus and the view from the 18th floor is pretty unique.

The 2 years I lived at myrez were generally excellent. I had a couple of minor disagreements with other residents but that is to be expected in this type of living scenario. For student housing, it was the best option I found, there's no doubt about it. They take care of the shared spaces and the apartments are nicely decorated with everything you will need. It is in an ideal neighbourhood if you go to Laurier or UoW.

Myrez has the best location ever for U Waterloo students. I walked to class everyday - even in the winter and I hate the snow! The 18th floor is a great extra with space to hangout with friends or study. The furnished suites were the perfect fit for me and the furniture itself is pretty good quality. Overall it is a great place to live for any student.

I had a later than expected acceptance and needed to find student housing quickly. I was lucky to squeeze in here when I did. My suite was pretty spacious and because of my program, I used the group study areas pretty regulary. I found the other residents respectful and staff was helpful.

Lived here and loved it. I used the common study areas often and they were great places to work. The gym is very limited though, but the apartments themselves had awesome design, and great maintenance service. The price is a bit high for a place without an oven (it's built into the microwave) and no dishwasher.

This may sound silly but one of my fav things about this place is the laundry. No more running around town to clean your clothes! The suites are a modern design and spacious. The maintenance crew are top notch!

Rarely ever had any issues with my room but the maintenance people are pros and handle everything soon after you report it. That's a big plus for student housing! The neighbourhood is fantastic too.

The ultimate in professionalism here. I never hesitated when there was an issue because they always acted as quickly as they could to make the situation better. For this reason alone, I would live here again.

I went to U of Waterloo and this residence is perfectly situated, gives you the best of both worlds because it is good and close to campus but still off campus. There's a great rec space and the view is pretty awesome. If you go to U of Waterloo or WLU then you should definitely take a tour.

I lived here for several semesters while at school and it was totally fabulous! Clean and comfortable, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

MyRez holds a special place in my heart. I lived here in my second year at school and had everything I needed. There were great friends, lots of fun and laughs, support when I needed it for school or if there was an issue with our suite, you name it, we had it.

Honestly, the best student housing in Waterloo. After hearing horror stories from friends about almost every other housing provider, MyRez has gone above and beyond by constantly making upgrades (such as to WiFi), quickly responding to work orders, and just generally been painless to work with. Highly recommended if you're looking for housing.

A relative told me of this student housing and it did not disappoint me. It was everything I really needed while studying.

Super, super friendly people running My REZ. I truly appreciated everything they did to make my experience amazing.

One of my relatives recommended this place to me because they had heard such good things. Shortly after I moved in I could see how they had earned such a good rep. The staff take their job seriously and whether they're dealing with a maintenance problem or issues between roommates, they are always respectful and respond quite quickly. It is off-campus but it's still close to class, which is ideal if you don't want a long commute.

My best years at school were when I was living at myrez. It's got everything going for it; good prices, ideal locale, helpful staff and a great vibe. It was student living at its best with the support and space you need when you wanna crack down and get things done.

This was home for 2 years and it was nothing but a positive experience. You can't beat the amenities or location and the one time I had a problem in my suite, it was fixed later that day. For the price, you will not beat this level of service for student housing.

I have not lived here in over a year but I still recommend it to students I meet through my job. I have so many wonderful memories from the time I spent here.

Living here is great, fast and attentive staff for broken things. But the bed that I was provided was very hard and uncomfortable compared to my room mates and they would not let me switch it.

The apartment, maintenance and cleaning crew are amazing, however, the management here is terrible. Last minute notification of issues, elevators are constantly under maintenance and not in service at rush hours when everyone is headed to class and the wifi often doesn't work. The front desk staff is rude. There is no consideration for having happy tenants here.

MyRez is a total blessing if you've had terrible experiences with student housing in the past. These people really out do themselves, all the time, to make sure the people that live here are happy and have what they need. They provide outstanding service.

My Rez is where it's at for super comfy and reasonably priced student housing. Suites are well layed out and there's some decent social hangout areas.
