My favourite king sized dumplings in this city. Large portions and great tasting! Would recommend the kalguksu, rice cakes, and dumplings!

Did you make the menu without ever having tried Buljokbal? It was the worst Buljokbal I've ever had. Buljokbal is not a seasoned food, but the pork trotters were seasoned and all messed up, and the taste was like raw red pepper paste without any sauce cooked in it, and the pork trotters were probably old, but the meat wasn't firm at all. I guess you have to go to a restaurant specializing in pig's feet to eat pig's feet. The worst thing is that there are pig hair clumps here and there on the pig's feet. Before cooking pig's feet, it is basic to remove the hair with a razor, but as soon as I saw those hairs, I lost my appetite because they didn't even know the basics and how to cook pig's feet and run a business. I don't think I'll ever eat pig's feet here again.

Not the best kalguksu I have tried, despite reviews. I found both the broth and dumplings to be bland. The presentation was meh and the noodles were too soft.

A restaurant chain known for their traditional Korean dishes. First off, their "world famous" kimchee (side dish) made in house puts the others to shame.

Not a large variety to their menu, soup noodles and dumplings/mandoo are very traditional, when all the staff speaks Korean, you know you've stumbled into something special.

IMAO their large dumplings although good are a little too sweet/garlicy for my personal tastes.

Their noodle soup came out piping hot, noodles firm and soup had nice peppery after taste

Will add this to my "visit again" list

Ordered the kalguksu regular. Pretty tasty but.when you had authentic homemade in South Korea.their mandu? Were plump but I guess I don't really enjoy that type anymore. The pangchan was just kimchi. So busy when we went at lunch. I can't remember what that pork rib dish is called.but has been marinated in the typical honey, garlic, 5 spice herbs.

The kim chee side dish and the myundong bibim noodle were tasty. But would not recommend the king size dumplings. The taste wasn’t anything special and it was too crumbly/falls apart and made it really difficult to eat. It also felt like the value wasn’t great for what you get, as the dishes had mostly carbs and very little proteins.

I came here with the family for Mother’s Day and it was delicious! I had the bulgogi set meal which came with rice, beef, and a bowl of kalguksu! I loved it! Would recommend!

Thank you to the servers for taking care of us even though they were really busy.
I thought it would be rare to see shabu-shabu served this well, so I visited with my foreign friends and I am satisfied.

Ordered take out. Asked to try one slice of Kim chi before I decide to buy a large container of it. Was given the weird look. At 11: 30 the restaurant was quite empty. I wanted to sit down by the cashier and the server used not so friendly tone to tell me I can't sit there and told me to go to the door.

Seriously.

First time and last time visiting. Old grandmas from Korea with no manners running this. 2 stars because food wasn't too bad.

The braised pork hocks is fabulous. And it was kept warm on the dining table by a steamer. Their kimchi was also very well prepared.

Best korean dumpling place in Toronto. Love the knife cut noodles with broth.
Kids loved rice cake soup! Side dish kimchi is so bomb too!

Small place but comfortable. Authentic Korean food!
This time we only ordered the dumpling and the noodle soup. Both very yummy and their kimchi is to die for!

I don’t normally like kimchi, but I absolutely loved the ones they make here! I ate it all!

I also tried the soybean noodle, something I have never seen offered at other Korean restaurants. It’s a seasonal item and quite unique.

This place is a hidden gem! We ordered the mandu hotpot and I absolutely love it! The soup base is great and you'll have a plate of handmade noodles in the end. Kimchi is also super!

People there were very kind and attentive. Kalguksu (noodles) and Wang mandu (dumpling) were very tasty loved it.
Oh the kimchi (gut juri) is a WOW!

Its delicious and my favourite Korean restaurant. The environment is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend

Love love love the kimchi! In fact, we take out the kimchi on its own more often than the dumplings. Glad they finally offered it as a take-out option. The dumplings are very delicious - but you must be a garlic lover to appreciate them. The portions are large, so an order is meant to be shared.

However, the menu selection is indeed limited with just dumplings, noodles (soup or chilled in the summer), and shabu shabu items.

The five stars given are for my love for their kimchi and the superb taste of their signature kimchi and dumplings.

Great quality! For take out, they gave us soup and noodles separately or we could ask fresh noodles so we can boil just before eating. The dumplings especially tasted so good. Full of juicy ground meat and lots of vegetables mixed! Tastes just like an authentic restaurant in Korea. Great service, would recommend.

Rip off for a the price, decent food at most and for how much they charge they give you close to nothing

I’m a fan of this restaurant - the portion is great, food is tasty and pretty authentic, just the location is a little hard to get to without driving. I recommend kalgooksoo and dumplings. Kimchi is refillable, just really strong aftertaste of garlic but all worth it. Staffs are friendly and efficient, interior is clean and it is large enough that though there is a wait, never more than 15mins. A good hearty meal whenever you go.

Amazing food. Amazing flavours. Extremely affordable and traditional. The sauces are in house and the service is homely. A definite homage to the amazing Korean culture. A small gem, an oasis.

Small family restaurant. Foods are good but too less choice in menu. Home made Kimchi is excellent.
12 February 2020 21:10
The foods are delicious and their customer service are great.
However, recently their amount of foods just went down. They do not give you enough food for a serve with the same price like before. Hope they improve on that.

Recommended this place!

This restaurant always warms you up in cold winter weather! We got spicy shabushabu and dumplings. I always order dumplings here since they are amazing.

Great kimchi, polite staff and probably one of the best noodle places in the city. Myoung-Dong Kal Gook Soo is a great spot that compares very favorably to even Korea's own restaurants of the same style. Would recommend.
03 December 2019 13:51
Felt like lots of MSG in the food. So thirsty and couldn't sleep that night. Shabu shabu was not that good. Mandu was cold. Very disappointed. Changed alot from a while ago.
03 November 2019 3:07
The restaurant was clean and had suitable styling, the service was quite friendly and helpful since I didn't know what to order. I ended up ordering some noodle soup with a half order of dumplings. Flavors were good (lots of garlic flavor) the dumplings weren't saturated with salt which was nice and the Kimchee was fresh. I am definitely returning to try other dishes.

Recommended for any who loves Korean food.

Almost same hot gimchi is served likely original hot one in Seoul. But the noodles different. If not on the weekend rush timing there are so many empty seats.
17 September 2019 15:07
Korean hand made dumpling is very nice. Kalguksu (hand made noodle) is signature menu for this restaurant but, disappointed.
12 September 2019 23:20
The kalguksoo is really good and they make their kimchi fresh daily (or so it tasted like it and so it says on the menu) (also very garlic-y).
If you are going as a pair, I’d recommend getting 2 kalguksoo and 1 mandu. You’ll definitely be full and may have left over mandu.
12 September 2019 21:16
Best Korean giant dumplings. Love their hot pots, broth is really tasty if you boil veggies first and then meat. Fresh/spicy kimchi to compliment dumplings.
15 June 2019 23:38
They recycle kimchi.asked if I could take away the kimchi we couldn’t finish and they said I can’t, didn’t provide reasoning. I paid for the foods but why can’t I take the leftover?
Dukkuk is good. Spicy cold noodles jjolmyun was not worth the price- noodles and baby leaves.that’s it.
남은 김치 못 싸가게 함.

We’ve been here several times and enjoyed it so much that we’ve brought family as well. The dumplings are humongous and so filling. The downfall came last time when the noodles were so salty that we were thirsty for hours after finishing our meal there. It will most likely be a very long time before we’ll be back.

Above average Korean knife-cut noodle house. It is a popular franchise in Korea. Also, located in Mississauga. Most menus are mild and not spicy, and has an option to make the dish more spicy if you like. Generous portions, good service, good quality, good price and family-friendly. I would recommend this place to both Koreans and non-Koreans who enjoy noodle, hot-pot, and dumplings.

Forget their rice noodles. Try their dumplings - if you know anything about Korean dumplings, this place serves authentic styled Korean dumplings and they do it well with few different types you can choose from. I recommend eating in as you will want to taste them fresh. The kimchi that comes along with it is fabulous, very tasty and is a perfect pair to the dumplings.
