The food we got was delicious and great value! We had the vegetarian appetizer platter and the panner tikka masala with some garlic naan. It was fantastic and great leftovers the day after too!
Visited Namaste yesterday Oct 15 and was very excited to enjoy an upscale Indian restaurant.
We ordered 3 dishes and 2 of the 3 were fairly good. However the portions are very unpredictable. The Nihari which is fairly high priced does not even come with Naan and barely enough to feed one person. Also for a Nihari connoisseur it was far from being a Nihari and more of a Lamb shank curry.
The chicken Tika was probably the best dish we ordered.
However the beef biryani May have been taken from the fridge into a hot pot and our table. It arrived cold and the meat was not even room temperature at the best.
Although it was not a busy evening with lots of staff it was impossible to get anyone's attention. Secondly we did not even know who was serving us as we did not see the same person twice from the time we placed the order to the second of our food.
Only when the water server came could we express our concern. Even the. It took 5 mins for the manager to show up whose response was we do not use frozen meat for our foods.
If an Indian restaurant is going to claim to be high end and charge premium pricing they need to ensure that the food and service reflects that.
Never order a take out from this place.they cheat on quantity of the to go order. My order was billed for 3 tandoori rotis and a vindaloo, however i just got only one of the rotis in the package they gave me.
We had the buffet and although all the curries were very tasty everything was lukewarm, which made it hard to enjoy. The chicken in the butter chicken was not very tender. The naan however was made to order and was absolutely delicious!
Really disappointed with this place, the food was tasteless and the customer service was worse. The dish which we ordered had a ‘hair’ in it, we asked the guy to take it back but he didn’t even listen to our complaint properly and never apologized for it, he bought it back in a minute and slammed it on our table. The prices are so high and there quality is so low. Never ever going back to this place again!
0 for service.average food and not sure it is weekend it just all worst. Might be weekdays better I don’t know. The chicken wasn’t cooked well too. Just waste of money and time. All the prices are jacked up.
We wasted our time! We have order, we wait more than one hour! After 30 min they bring one dish (photo), an hour later we made a scandal and only after that after 5 minutes they brought the whole order! Naturally, the first dish has already cooled down.
Being an indian, i was so excited to try something indian food in kingston for the first time. And all thanks to Namaste downtown, you guys spoiled our night. We ordered manchurian but in return we got BURNT MANCHURIAN WITH SALTY GRAVY. And it was not schezwan fried rice it was nasty fried rice. Don't waste your money here. They just know how to decorate the table but don't know how too cook food.
Chicken Biriyani was so good. And we have tried Tikka Biriyani too, but liked Chicken biryani Better. Place was neet and tidy. Restaurant parking was not there, we had to park in Public Parking. Quantity: We ordered 2 for 3and it was sufficient.
Best I know, they're the best east Indian in town. Also on Uber and a real treat when we're feeling lazy and get to eat well with their equally excellent take out. They have a bean dish that knocks your socks off.
We were here from Ottawa and manveer served us and we all love her service her smiling and warm personality made my tired day. Mango lassi was the best 100% recommending. The food was ok but I love the place and the service more. Manveer thank you for your amazing hospitality ️️️️
The best Indian food I have ever had in Canada. Made me felt like I'm in India. Quality, service at it's best. Servers were really really great. Love to go there again and again.
Very classy inside. Food was delicious with an excellent variety. Great portions. Staff very nice. We did end up getting a beef dish when we had asked for chicken in that one. But it all tasted excellent.
I got the food delivered. The value and taste was top notch- I absolutely recommend the Thali because the assortment of food and quality was incredible for the price. My one complaint is just about the Raita- it was rather thin and watery and not all that flavourful, I personally like my Raita less sweet and with more cucumber in it, I almost thought I got Phirni by mistake. Other than that, I would highly recommend coming here.
The patio is open now if you want to sit outside and enjoy. Staff is excellent and owner is more involved now and visit guests.
March 2022 (4 Star)
Visited the place with college friends for dinner. The kitchen closed at 9 pm so make sure you reached early and place your order.
The staff is nice and the ambiance is good. There is large sitting area so they can accommodate big group.
Now about the food. We order too much as the portion is big enough. So if you are big group than plan to order properly. You get complementary rice bowl with few curries. However, the restaurants allow you to pack the stuff.
The food was not spicy so you may need to ask the chef if you like spicy food. I did not like the naan as it was little hard and did not enjoy it. If you are in Kingston than may visit.
Worst service ever! And worst food ever! Reason was they were busy because of buffet service. Poor Management, poor food quality, expensive prices. If you wanna throw your money then you’re welcome. -1 star overall
The samosas and wine were good. Everything else was not. We had the lamb rogan josh and while it was edible, it certainly did not have much spice to it. We had the aloo peas - they should advertise it as a soup. Would not recommend.
This is the place 100% Safe and follow the HACCP. Guide line. Foods are Mouthwatering. Maintain the quality and quantity standards. Kingston is ROCK … Ever Green! All the Success!
The ambiance and professionalism of this establishment over exceeded my expectations, they brought culture and diversity into our taste palette.overall in my opinion it is a wonderful place to take in-laws or eat with friends the price was average and it was very clean. Waitress staff did not have inappropriate clothes on which tends to be a problem when you go to any restaurant. I will definitely be back it was a great place to take my family.
Wonderful experience dining in with friends and family! The service was friendly and quick. Highly recommend this restaurant! We will definitely be going back soon.
It was a good experience to be here and taste some of the traditional cuisines. Though we had to wait for some time to get served, It was hot and tasty. Especially, Aakash was very friendly and provided us great service.
Friends and I visited Namaste a couple of weeks ago. Admittedly, we were a bit skeptical given the lack of high quality Indian food in Kingston. Fortunately, our meal was delicious! We ordered the butter chicken, lamb roghan josh, Punjabi daal fry, and shahi paneer as well as some rice and naan. I noticed right away that all of the dishes were of the right colour and had smells reflecting their curry base/spice mixture.
My only knock would be the wait for food; it did take approximately 40 minutes to arrive. However, the dishes were fresh and worth the wait! Highly recommend Namaste to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Worst food I could ever afford don't even know how to make Lassi (which is main for Punjabis.huhhh) garlic naan was worst ever on top of it paneer more than worst not fresh at all, overall I'll say unreasonable pricing and not so fresh food= Namaste Kingston, just huge ambiance for show off wont make a difference if staff isn't attentive to understand rational Indian cuisine taste. #WorstFood#IndecentStaff#LossOfMyMoney
By far the best Indian Food in the city! Everything on their menu is so thoughtful and they’ve paid attention to all the little details in their service (hot towels, fresh flowers at every table, amazing servers, fennel seeds at the end of the meal) so eating here is an incredible experience. So excited that Kingston finally has excellent Indian food in the city!
Amazing dining experience from start to finish - the staff were warm, welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was amazing! Best butter chicken in the city. Would definitely recommend the biryani as well. I'll be back!
