As a new loctician I took the Loc Extension course offered by Janet and learned SO MUCH in just a few hours. She is very knowledge about loc care and really understands how nutritional wellness helps our hair to thrive. If you book a hair appointment or course with this salon you will not be disappointed!

After many years of not giving it much care, I decided to go to the hair salon (April 27,2023 on my birthday) for some hair care. The ambiance, vibe, professionalism, and service were amazing. I had a wash and treat, followed by a 2-strand twist. It was so relaxing. As I sat in the chair, Amanda worked her magic in my hair. I walked out feeling confident with MY hair, no extensions. I felt free (and much lighter). They say that your hair is your crown. On my birthday, I felt royal.

I have been going to Nanni's for almost a year now with my mom and my younger brother. We love it there, they take good care of you and don't try to encourage you to do things unless it will benefit your hair and its health. The owner is one of the most amazing people you will meet in your life, you should definitely go for a visit. If not for you, for the best possible hair care you could ask for. P.s It is now 4 years and I am still going here the last photo is current and I'm still so thankful I found Nannis!

Nannis started my dreadlocs and I only come here to do my hair. The quality of work & customer service here is great and you leave always looking great. The place is always packed on Saturday, that is what you expect at a 5 star establishment. I only trust Nannis with my hair.

Very disappointing experience. I was looking for a natural hair salon after the one I frequented for years closed and the owner moved to another province. This place was recommended to me by a family member who has locs. I do not but having called they did say they can see clients with natural hair. I booked my appointment a month in an advance. My family member advised to book with Janet. A week leading to the appointment I called them myself to confirm the appointment to which I was advised they could not see my appointment. I said are you sure? They asked for my number and they found that I was moved time slots. I asked why and why did no one inform me? I was told it was an oversight that I wasn’t informed. I asked if was still with Janet to which I was told she is now off for the week but I was placed with someone else who will do my hair “just fine” - frustrated with that experience alone, I still figured to proceed with it.

The day of the appointment I called to let them know I would unfortunately be 10 minutes late. I asked if that was okay, they said it was fine. I confirmed again my appointment and they confirmed it. I got there exactly 10 minutes late, I went inside and nope - could not find my booking. Dumbfounded at this, I said I literally just called 20 minutes ago and on top of that called to confirm a week ago and initially booked one month ago. Was told they recently got a new receptionist so that may have been the issue. More excuses! I was told I was going to be seen as it was just a wash and treatment. There seemed to be no idea who would be doing my hair as there were two people already ahead of me waiting. I sat down to wait and about twenty minutes passed and one of the two ahead of me were called to be seated. I realized I may be waiting here forever given they likely have appointments and they’re viewing me as a walk in. They were also not providing me with any update / avoiding me. I figured that even if they do my hair, based on the events leading to this, I would never come back and I’m someone who likes to have one person / place do my hair. So I left and will not ever return. It’s very unfortunate that I shared this experience with friends and was told “you know how some black businesses are” well no, I only go to black salons and this was an experience I’ve never had in my life. It’s too bad because I am a great client who values large tips towards black stylists as I love supporting them. I will continue my search for a black salon in toronto.

I can not even express how my experience at Nanni’s changed me. From the minute I walked in, just the ‘back home’ ambiance warmly embraced me so be sure to make time for yourself, have your cash on deck and book your appointment because what you’re sure to receive is THERAPY. Aunty Janet was able to tell me everything I was in need of just by feeling my hair, from vitamins to holistic routines and guidance to keeping myself healthy which in turn will have my hair flourishing. Aunty Janet is such an empathetic being and she truly takes you under her wing and teaches you about your hair and yourself. I can’t wait to be back! My hair already feels so much healthier and I for sure just found my forever salon, and boy it’s been a journey finding experienced, thorough locticians in Ontario!

How many times did i tell Janet to give me 8 single cornrows to the back.i specifically said 8, even showed her n her colleague a photo for reference only for me to leave after and notice she did 9.9 isn’t even and it makes the way i wanted the cornrows to initially come out all wrong.i expect a refund because this is not the kind of services rendered i wanted and she didn’t deserve that tip i gave her.

Disappointing experience. Stylist didn't wash her hands before starting my hair until I asked her to, didn't ask me my name nor tell me hers, and seemed like she was ready to go home while doing my hair. Then at the end they asked for payment before finishing my hair. We have to do better. Two stars because my hair looked good at the end, but customer service can do a lot better

Janette did my hair…. While fixing my hair she put in a different piece of hair that is red and not the same colour as my hair and when i called for another appointment she dodged my call and came up with excuses as to why she cant do it…if u mess someones hair up atleast have the decency to fix it on the next appointment

Ms. Janet is the best in the city! So warm, friendly and kind. It was my first time getting dreadlocks! I highly recommend all in the Toronto area to take a visit!

The service here is really amazing! Janet styled my hair the first time I was there and she really did an amazing job. I had loose ends and my hair was breaking so bad and she told me to go to my doc to check my iron level because she feels my iron was low and that’s causing hair loss. And she was right! I highly recommend her service! If you ever want to go there, ask for Janet to style your and your hair would thank you afterwards.

It was my first time having the owner herself work on my locs. She is 100% professional. Absolutely! Not only that. She has a passion for natural lifestyle and offered free natural eating and supplement recommendations on how to get the nutrients I need to grow my hair faster, stronger and better. I followed all of those recommendations and my hair growth has been significant after 3 months. I loved the styling and my locs were still intact after 2 months - even though I washed my hair and went to the gym several times etc.

PRICING:
In terms of pricing, this salon charges reasonably, considering it's in Toronto and that's the going rate. Plus, the salon is very clean and customer friendly, so the rate is in order. If you're in Toronto, expect locs styling to be in the $100s and up.

When I'm in Toronto, I'll definitely have them wash and style my locs.

They are very unprofessional. You make an appointment and they make you wait like it is normal. What is the point of scheduling an appointment then? Waste of time!

The owner Janet super friendly and knows her craft seriously a great experience with her. The issue experienced by some other clients was the long and I mean long wait time would be unacceptable to most even with an appt. My appt was long but based on the situation was acceptable at that time.

As a Muslim woman, I appreciate that Nanni's is willing to go above and beyond customer care by having a private room for muslim women who want to maintain their modesty. More places should do this. Amazing customer service and they really know what they're doing:)
