Nandha's is a staple in the community! I've been coming here since they've been open, all those years ago. Other than the prices going up slightly, the quality of food has never been degraded! I always get the kothu (mutton and chicken depending on my mood), and when you ask for extra gravity, they gladly do it and are not stingy! The short eats are also amazing! Mutton rolls are well cooked and portioned properly! I'll always be going here for my taste of Sri Lanka.
Food quality is decent. Quantity is more so that it might suffice 2 people. Taste is also good and service and staffs are well mannered as well. It's a take out place, so nothing much can be expected from the atmosphere. Seems like there are lot of people who take food from here.
Their chili chicken is good. I just wish other food more consistent, sometimes it's really good but sometimes it lacks for example kothu roti veggie is good one day but other day less flavour or more salty. They need consistency.
Totally disappointed with Nantha's food today. I have been to Nantha's before, and it wasn't this bad. Today, I ordered mutton rolls and a mutton curry meal. Mutton curry is full of fat chunks and so oily. WorstMutton rolls. Prices have gone up, and the food quality drowns the drain. Inflation does not only affect business owners; it also affects customers. Please respect customers and provide quality food and service for their money.
The mutton rolls are so delicious. The meat and vegetable Currys that we had were the best I have had. Definitely be back to try the samosas, dosa and kuttu roti.
I’ll start off by saying the food here is good. I have only been disappointed with the lack of accuracy to orders and attention to customers and service. This place would get 5 stars but the people working at front need to be replaced or trained better. If I’m going to a “ Tamil “ take out place I don’t see why we can’t order in our native language. Every time I speak in Tamil I get a response in English. This isn’t even the main issue. Whenever I go and ask for a custom order such as extra onions. They don’t ever follow it. They’ll forget it and then throw it on top and charge me for a few pieces. If that’s the case I might as well just go to a grocery store and buy an onion and put it myself.
What I recommend to the store. Train your employees with better order accuracy. Servers to speak Tamil when the person also is speaking Tamil. It’s our language and there should be no reason not to speak it. Aside from that keep up the great food.
Consistently great Sri Lankan takeout food. Really well priced as well. Consider them for catering, the food's even better!
Update, Nov 2022: Food is still great, and priced fairly. I would say the taste is not always consistent which is unfortunate, because if you've had Nantha's food at its best, it's something else!
Okay food but service is beyond terrible. Ordered ahead of time by around 30mins for a chili chicken, they said it would be ready and then I got there and waited another 30mins. Also, depending on who you get they may not even fill your takeout container properly. I come here every month since there arent many Sri Lankan takeout places nearby but I always regret it.
Not Halal. Prices are very reasonable. Food quality is average. Coffee machine is sometimes broken. Take out lines are long as people are ordering multiple items in large quantities.
This place has horrible timing and service. Before we come, we always order take-out ahead of time. They say it will be ready in so-and-so minutes but when we come, it's never ready. Then they add another 30 min of waiting time when we're already here. This has happened way too many times over the past year and we are fed up. Never coming back to this place again.
January 2022 on snow strom day, I ordered food for a special day. All the stores were closed. The owner called and confirmed the order and noted that the store is closed but as he promised he will prepare the food and he kept his promise. The food was delicious and fresh. Thank you Anna for this great food and awesome customer service. I will strongly recommend this place for all.
I can't say enough about their chicken briyani. It's a must try! Glad I got the larger portion. Moist, well cooked chicken and unlike other places there was ample pieces of chicken. And got eggplant curry which was really good! Not too oily, not too spicy. This is the best Nantha. Crazy busy but worth the wait
Breakfast items such as idly and sambhar are not ready even Past noon time. I have to return after driving all way to their place otherwise menu and prices are good.
Not bad Food, food price is responsible, everything has gone up as a small business what can’t they do except to continue to increase their price as well. Must try their fish patties and veg Briyani. Noodles used to be good but now days noodles are almost plan, hardly no meat or vegetables in it. So something to think about. Pls try to keep the quality of the food don’t cut back on quality and quantity. Had a very bad experience with string hoppers not too long ago. Double check it before taking it. I do know they don’t make the string hoppers at the location so just be cautious. Customer service could be better for sure.
Customer service is extremely poor here. Food isn't too great either. Vegetarian food is little bit better. But the nonveg food is not at all good. They are very stingy when filling the food containers. For example if you ordered medium shrimp they don't just fill the medium container they count the shrimps and then they fill it with gravy.
Nantha branch at Briddletown circle has much better food compared to the Kippling and Steeles location.
If you are a regular at Kippling and Steeles visit Briddletown location and you will see the big difference.
Looks like Nantha treats the Etobicoke customers like second class citizens.
They definitely need to improve this location in food quality and customer service.
Excellent, unassuming and wonderful experience. Great variety and fine value tasting menu with amazing price. Exciting food with high quality presentation, service and inventiveness. Please expand your locations to include Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo.
Pretty decent SriLankan/Tamil food at economical price. They claim to NOT add any MSG. If you're here worth trying the white string hoppers, chilli chicken and fish tail fry.
Not bad. Chicken tastes average and service takes a long time as you need to wait in a line for a several minutes. Tea machine isn't working for several days and they are not replacing.
Food is nice for the price. Taste and quantity are right but service is ridiculously awful. You have to wait almost 40 min to get your food. They should really work on this…
If yoh want to try authentic Sri Lankan food (Takeout only) this is a one of the place in west end of GTA to try it out. Their diahses are very tasty and spicy. Check it out fellow Torontonians.
Not many choices. Just one cashier was serving the customers. So you need to Wait little longer for your order. It is ok for South Asian people. Not for everyone.
I usually buy short eats (fish cutlets, veg samosas, etc.) here, but decided to get multiple main dishes for dinner. Both my partner and I are appalled at how horrid the quality and taste is! Firstly, we went at dinnertime (at 7pm) and half the things I wanted to buy (stringhoppers, crab curry, etc.) were not available.everything looked picked over; how so early on a Friday night is your catering that emptied out? The food we did get included fish curry, which was the biggest let-down. Neither my partner nor I could eat more than a few bites, the rest will be thrown out. Fish extremely rubbery, no taste in the food except heat and way too salty. The gravies of everything from fish to potato curry all taste the same, no balance. And on top of that the prices have gone up. Never buying main meals again, very disappointed.
Just bought chicken kothu roti, very bad taste, last 7 years used to buy from their neighbour kestrel but today I wanted to try from nantha, but very much disappointed waste of money
Food is good. Price and service is better. Portion is generous for the items I bought, curry and roti. Will go back till I try everything on their menu. Absolute delight on discovering this place. See you all again.
Great selection of food at extremely reasonable prices. They need to put a photo menu card for new people/non-sri lankans to order from. Mostly has a regular client base from word of mouth. My favorite are the fish Patties. 3 for $1. Vege meals and any meals for that matter can easily feed 2.
My team recently had Nantha Caters for an event at Western University and not only did they provide everything we needed, but they went above and beyond in the service, instructions on serving and the of course the taste. We've had them cater the past three years and will be going back again.
A nice place for south indian and sri lankan style take outs. Definitely recommend it to all the indian students who live on their own. Very economical.try it out
I like this restaurant! They provide marvelous dishes, their menu is nice, The chef in that place is a specialist, I love a lot trying all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the attitude towards the visitors is helpful. I often eat in this place and I not even once was unhappy. I recommend it to all my friends.
Sree Lankan restaurant, south Indian foods. Tamil taste. Spicy foods in cheaper price.free parking near by. Less food options. Kerala special traditional foods available.meals with multiple curries including veg and non veg is highlight.
Last time I was here girl told me there goat is halal. This time I asked them n itcwas a different girl she said nothing is halal here. If that's true they served me food last time by lying. It's a good place but staff should know what they are serving.
Never tried any other food there but there kathu roti is very tasty. The price is reasonable. Busy sometimes, order on phone before coming will save you time.
They serve Sri Lankan Tamil foods. Pittu, string hoppers, rice & curry, roti, short eats like mutton rolls, vadai, patties etc. Price is typical for such foods.
Very very.very poor customer service all staffs are rude, and behave like they are donating food for us. They have special kottu rotti mixes with chilli chicken. I ordered one time; there are no chicken. I called them and they said NEXT TIME THEY WILL ADD CHICKEN. I did not understand because I paid for now why I have to wait for NEXT TIME. This is ridiculous. Also, they don’t respect customer at all. I was thinking management must take an immediate action for this
I could not come across any Indian Restaurants in that specific area, decided to stop by as soon as I saw the packed parking lot. As I walked in I noticed that it was a take out restaurant, not a dine in and they had more Sri Lankan Tamil food than anything.
The lady at the cash was very friendly. She insisted on selling me Chicken Noodles since that was the only things left. Long story short- it was horrible. It literally was noodles, fried chicken and excessive oil, nothing else. No flavour, no spice, no herb, nothing! Just a lot of oil!
I have never tried anything else on their menu since I could not. I have tried Sri Lankan Tamil food from various cuisines and while visiting Sri Lanka. I am a fan! But due to this experience I would never know how the other food on the menu taste.
