Staff don't call prior to doing work on your car to get permission to go ahead with the work. I went in because my car was idling/vibrating when stopped or in park. They told me it was my O2 so i had it replaced paid 450$. I picked the car up and by the time i got home my check engine light was back on and the issue still remained idling and vibrating. Took the car back in to have them further look into the issue and made another apt to have repair done as they said this time the issue was a small vacuum leak. When i drove my car the following day to work it was in way worse condition, my dad is a mechanic (lives out of town and happened to be in town this day) took a look under the hood and found that the vacuum line was not put back in. I took a picture of this and my dad showed the guy it wasn't put back in and his response was "i was in a rush to put the car back together and forgot to put the line back in". So third time i brought my car back to be repaired for the initial issue that wasnt fixed the first time they told me they fixed the vacuum leak but that the car still wasnt 100%. I was told to take the car home at NO charge and "see if you can live with it". The repair they did the second time STILL didn't fix the idling/shaking issue and the check engine light was still on. Told them i guess i would just deal with the issue still being there as they stated they wouldn't be doing any further work on it. Two weeks go by and i take my car in to get alignment and wheels balanced and only then do i hear that apparently i owe 40$ in parts. I was never told i owed any money when i picked my car up the second time because the issue was never fixed and still isnt fixed. This particular employee lied and had said he never said "no charge" when in fact he did and i was never contacted to pay for parts. I told them i would pay for the parts but obviously they lack proper and honest communication. Car was never fully repaired and check engine light still remains on. Expect you to still pay for "repairs" that are never done even when taken back twice. Lack of knowledge on repairs, lack honesty and poor communication. Staff Do NOT ensure all parts are put together properly and safely before returning to customer! Also left shop doors unlocked after hours-i had to call them and leave them a voicemail that they forgot to lock their doors at night and had to inform the shop staff across the street to which he parked a car in front of the door to prevent potential break in. Would not recommend or go back.
Brought my fairly new car for a synthetic oil change (only it’s second oil change). When I picked it up they told me they did the oil change and changed my air filter. They never called me to ask permission to change the air filter, they did not provide me with an explanation of why they changed it nor showed me my old filter. It was already on the receipt ready to be paid for. It’s disappointing because I thought I could trust this shop as my husband and I have brought our cars here multiple times before. Will be looking for a new place now
These guys are great. Jim and Nigel are clear on work being done and even will tell you not to do something if it is not necessary. Great service for both cars in the family.
Jim and Nigel are the best! I have been bringing my cars to them for at least 20 years. Being female, it is important to have a mechanic you can trust and boy do I ever with them. They are fair, knowledgeable and all around great business owners! I should add that they even once brought one of my cars back from the dead without it costing my first born child.
