First time renter at the National at Bloor and Yonge location. Got a Toyota Corolla; did like it much nothing much can be done as this location has limited inventory. Also no Emerald Isle. Customer service was so great; received friendly smiles and staff answered all my questions. Very knowledgeable. Special shootout to Anthony who not only remembered my name but remembered I had wanted to charge my rental to a different card. It was not possible due to system limitations but at least he tried. Thanks so much for the great service!

My rental got a flat tire literally right outside this location. I called to ask for a car swap but the owner refused, said he might not have enough cars to cover reservations later in the day, told me to take the car to an auto repair shop myself then put me on perm hold. After the auto shop couldn't resolve the problem (the car isn't equipped with s spare and the shop had to order the same tire for next day delivery), the National road side assistance people sent me back to this location and directed them to provide me another car.

But more drama after I returned to here: despite I explained that I needed the car to take my elderly parent to doctors, they still insisted I swap the original mini van for either a pickup truck (my mobility impaired elderly parent couldn't climb into) or a tiny subcompact (a folded wheelchair won't fit in its trunk). It took another half an hour and after him failed to convince another waiting customer to pay extra to a full size sedan because he didn't have a midsize that customer reserved, he reluctantly let me take a full size sedan.

All said and done, it wasted me 3 hours for something that should have been taken care of in 15 minutes.

As other reviewers also pointed out, the address listed on the web and their contract isn't correct. It's for an office location they already shut. It just shows how much, or how little, to be more precise, they care.

Schnelle, professionelle Abwicklung, gutes neuwertiges Auto, soweit alles top. Aber Leute, wir haben bestimmt eine halbe Stunde gebraucht um euch in diesem Gebäude zu finden. Eine Ausschilderung wäre hier echt der Bringer.

Had a great experience renting from this location. Car Rental is located on B2 and the Service Agents were very kind and professional. Would recommend this location for anyone looking for a reputable National Car Rental location!

Sam and Keshawn at the Yonge and Bloor location are excellent. During Covid this location has gotten much busier and Sam and Keshawn always keep the line moving as quickly and efficiently as possible. I have been renting for many years from different companies and Sam and Keshawn are the most friendly, professional, and courteous managers that I've ever dealt with.

Sam the store manager gives best customer service experience I’ve had across downtown. He also goes above and beyond in securing you best possible vehicles. I’m a loyal fan. As a bonus tip, I’m a long time customer of both National and Enterprise, and National comes out on top in terms of rewards and extra perks. A+ for this location.

On a holiday, there was a very long line but the staff kept it as efficient as possible. They were extremely friendly and open to changing vehicle options. My only issue would be the availability of cars and selection at this particular location - with Executive Elite status I usually am able to get something a little roomier. The biggest car I could get was this Volkswagen Passat. This location had no SUVs when I went, and the car selection seemed less premium than other locations. Getting out of the garage was easy, but getting back in can be a slight hassle the first time.

At first not so easy to find in the huge building, but it's on B2 in the parking garage (together with Enterprise). Super friendly service, great car, key drop no problem.

Sadly things have gone downhill since the pandemic with reduced staff and a much smaller fleet as National has gone into survival mode. When returning to this location on a one way rental there are two different garages and entrances in the Hudson Bay Building. I called several times to find out where to enter the garage and no one answered the phone. Luckily I was familiar with the area as I had rented from Avis and Hertz there previously so I was able to find the garage. When I returned there was no apology for not answering the phone or having directions on the phone recording they just said they were short staffed. I’ve attached a map for anyone who is returning here and not familiar with the garage. The garage entrance is on Bloor St and not on Asquith Ave.

Waited in a long line for over an hour to pick up the car I reserved. Supply and the number of staff were very very poorly matched to demand - the staff that WERE there though were great, and kudos to them for working overtime to accommodate their company’s screw-up. Will not rent from this company again.

I've already left a review for the Enterprise that shares this desk, but I'll gladly do it again. These guys are great! Even with everything going on they are still quick and friendly. Always have a decent selection of cars and you can see how ontop of cleaning they are!

I am not sure if this is normal for the location but when we went in to pick up our reservation there were no cars. We had to wait for over 30 min for a car to arrive and be cleaned. Otherwise the staff was friendly and the transaction was smooth. If this is a semi regular occurrence I would strongly recommend making the trip to the airport location which also has the benefit of having the executive isle.

I won't be returning to this location, I understand that there are busy days but returning the car here was a very big turn off. I've never had to wait an hour to check-in my return. Yes most people would drop off and not complete the inspection but at every other location I've been to in North America you arrive and someone is ready to check-in the car and provide an e-mail or paper receipt. I was told to park the car and then sent to the back of the line of people picking up. As others have mentioned, it's a maze to find the cars in this garage. There are far too few signs in the elevator / stairs to direct you to the proper level and even after getting to the level there are very few signs.
The location manager needs to pay more attention to the expected workload for that day and have more staff on hand for those busy days.

I had the worst experience at National Yonge/Bloor branch. At the pickup time the person completely ignored my greetings and simply said "picking up from National? ". The fuel was 3/4 and he said return it at the same level. On the return, the same person just stared at me without even saying hi and when I told him I'm returning he just grabbed the key and walked away towards the car. I told him the fuel was 3/4 and it's the same level and he just said "ok". I offered to stay so he can close the contract, but he said I'll email you a copy. To my surprise, when I got the email I saw he charged me $15 for the fuel! I called the branch several times and nobody picked up, then I called the customer service and was told an area manager will contact me in 24 hours. Nobody called me and I called again and they said somebody from corporate office will contact you in 48 hours and nobody did and it was a week ago. I've been a National customer for 17 years and have always been happy with their level of service, but I think they don't care about their customers anymore and I think it's time to take my business to another company. Very disappointed in National.

No cars when I arrived. Not enough staff. Long line up. Had to wait 40 minutes in order to pick up a car which was dirty inide and out. I used to love National but recently they dissapointed me numerous times. Also opposite to what they still advertise, Aisle locations have not a variety of nice cars any more. Just between 0 to 4 cheap cars each time I went to YYZ recently.

The rental and drop off were as smooth as ever for me as an Emerald Club Executive member. Car rentals from National Car is highly recommended.

I really like the staff at this site. They are friendly, and accomodating. I was able to change my reservation on the fly as I ended up not being well and they didn't hesitate to help me out. Thank you very much for this.
I really dislike this location. It is more like a lab rat maze than a car rental site. But it is a prime location.

The Manager Coomer at the Yonge and Bloor Toronto Location was extremely efficient and a credit to your organization!
