The beef broth is subpar. Their sate broth was congealed and literally inedible. Noodles are overcooked.

Took my Dad to his favourite restaurant. He used to go every week before he retired. Amazing noodle soups. Highly recommended.

They try hard but the service level was different vs last time I was there. Had to self service myself on the order and had to ask for water and tea after sitting down for 5 mins. Recommend the non-pho dishes. If you want pho best to go to restaurants where pho is part of their name

The service was average and the food wasn't great. Based on a recommendation from a friend that loved it in the past but said it wasn't like they remember.

I used to love this place but the quality of food is not the same. I ordered roll up bbq beef, the beef was not well marinated, very plain not tasty like before and a side order of shrimp on sugar can, $6 for 1 but the shrimp paste was dry, old and hard. They must have new chef or change of management. So disappointed!

Great place, wish they gave you mint and coriander with the food, but otherwise I enjoyed my spring rolls and BBQ pork!

I've been going for years and I've tried other Vietnamese restaurants. This is the best and everything is made from scratch. You can tell others take shortcuts.

This is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Nothing fancy, just consistent and excellent food. We love the spring rolls. I am not Vietnamese and can't comment if this is true authentic Vietnamese food but seeing locals Vietnamese at the restaurant means a lot to me

Large menu, lots of options. Their pho is I'd say pretty solid 8/10. Nice large interior, and outdoor patio as well. Brisk takeout business. Been around a long time, pretty consistent.

The taste is not very different from other Pho places. However, it was less salty which was great.
The place is old and the service is fast.

This used to be one of my favourite places in China town until recently. I was so disappointed that I will never go back again. The service was terrible. The server was so rude and ignorant. The food wasn’t any better. Not impressed!

Nice and tasty Vietnamese cuisine for all individuals. Excellent choices of shrimp and chicken make this my favorite of many. Whether you're craving abit of rice or noodles there's unlimited varieties for you and all you're friends. There rice wraps served with peanut sauce are also a delight

I've been coming to this restaurant for the last 10 years at least and it is always a special treat. I always have #136. Spicy Satay beef with rice noodle soup and an order of #004. Fresh Shrimp Rolls. The soup broth is magical; beautifully spicy and peanuty. The shrimp rolls, they serve with a gently sweetened peanut sauce.

Trust me on this; I'm giving you pearls here.

First time back in over a year because of pandemic. Even better than I remember. Awesome vermicelli bowl. Look forward to returning to weekly visits. Thanks for the great eats over the past decade.

Fantastic service. Always very quick, and the food is always delicious.

The staff is always very courteous and attentive. Fresh shrimp rolls are always a welcome starter. The entrees never disappoint. Had the vermicelli with BBQ pork and beef. My wife had shrimp and chicken vermicelli. Everything was perfect. So glad to be back to being able to dinner in person!

Been going here since I was a baby, and my mom's been going here since she was in high school. Best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa, always the go-to when you feel like a nice meal out.

My first dining experience at New Mee Fung was in 1999. This restaurant has been a favourite of my family ever since. Many a birthday has been celebrated over Pho and wraps here. I particularly love their spicy beef sate soup. The best Vietnamese soup I have had in Ottawa. Earlier this month I tried the Bun Bo Hue. It was good but I have had better elsewhere. Last weekend I tried a new menu item: Bun Cha Hanoi. This pork dish was very good, along with a side of Saigon style deep fried spring rolls. But their beef sate soup remains my to-die-for dish. The service is fast and staff are friendly.

Delicious food. Price is fairly cheap, compares to other pho restaurants. I always have special pho. The soup is clear, unsalty. There seems only one size, but the quantity is ok. Meat is fresh. They also have a special spicy sauce which has pepper seed in it. Love it!

Big meal, guaranteed to get you full! Cheap prices (not for the beer though), and very friendly staff. Nice location and it doesn't get too packed.

Beef pho soup base was weak. The thick crab meat noodle the soup base was decent but the noodle was a bit mushy. The lemongrass BBQ chicken was so so that I will not try again. The iced coffee tastes not much different than the one from McDonald's plus I can find grinded coffee pieces.

I was looking for the restaurants without MSG and my friends recommended this restaurant for me. When I ordered and asked no MSG, the staffs said just a little bit. Actually it was worse than other Vietnamese restaurants. And the fried chicken wings were super oily and smelly. I think there are lots of better Vietnamese restaurants in Ottawa.

Friendly staff, good service, lots of choice on the menu. Delicious appetizers, soup, rice or vermicelli meal with choice of meat, seafood or vegan. Spring roll can be made with rice paper if you don't eat gluten. And be warned. Soup is delicious and huge!

Herbs were fresh and the grilled meats were tasty. Like most vietnamese restaurants, the menu is massive with subtle variations between dishes. Everything youd expect they have. Cant comment on the Pho because I didnt have it.

Depuis 10 ans, j'ai découvert ce petit restaurant sans mine suite à une parution dans le journal local qui disait que c'était LE meilleur endroit pour manger asiatique. Nous y sommes vite allés.et depuis y allons le plus souvent possible. La nourriture est excellente et que dire de leurs prix? Raisonnables comme pas possible! Et être du coté de Ottawa j'irais une fois semaine.mais je suis à Gatineau et à 30 minutes. En passant, si vous aimez le goût des avocats, prenez-vous une shake aux avocats: vous irez directo au ciel de bonheur! Un MUST! Bon appétit!:)

Very good food (especially the noodle bowls) amazing service (very quick) some noodle bowls have peanuts in them but you can ask for one without it just might take longer. Very good place for family's and kids.

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the region. Very good noodle bowls and pho. Spring rolls were also good! Service is fantastic!

Subpar service by one of the waiting staff (short and with glasses). The food was fine, but drinks were mediocre, bordering on bad. Lemon juice soda was way too sour (and inauthentic since they use lime in Vietnam). The grass jelly coconut drink tasted rancid. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Talk about a hidden gem! The place seems to be mainly family run and you could tell they put pride in the quality of food. Feels very authentic. Nothing fancy. Great food at low prices. I have yet to find a dish I don't like but to be fair I almost always choose their signature spicy satay beef (I still call it the 136 from their old menu). I was also impressed to see they serve actual Viet coffee through a steel drip filter on a coffee mug.

Bon service et super bonne bouffe. Les prix sont très raisonnables. J’avoue que ce n’est pas pour le décor qu’on visite ce resto.

This restaurant is a favourite of many Ottawanians. Prices are reasonable. Food is authentic and of high quality. I would not describe the restaurant as fancy or the service as exceptional but the fundamentals of good food and fair price are strong. Worth a visit if you like Pho soup or a good bowl of vermicelli.

Always good, with fast service, usually filled with lots of regulars, but tables made available for you somehow:) I go often

Have been going here for years now! Definitely a gem in Ottawa. The best food, never disappointed! With great prices. They make the best yellow& red bean with green jelly and coconut milk dessert around! Love this spot!

Been going to new mee fung for years and never had an experience like I did tonight there was white powder in all the corners on the floor which I can only assume was some sort of pest control as when I went to the washroom there were mouse droppings all over the floor. I was very shocked to see the conditions as well as the prices have gone way up for the amount of food you actually receive now. I will not be returning to new mee fungs anymore

A great experience for lunch. Very quick and polite service and excellent quality Vietnamese food. A very comprehensive menu and many choices for great pho and bun (vermicelli). If you'd like to try something different, try the Satay soup. A unique/delicious choice that you won't find on offer at many other Ottawa restaurants and New Mee Fung has the best in Ottawa. Hands down, this is a superb Vietnamese restaurant and a place I would come back to again and again - 5 stars.
