Their Chinese food doesn't taste super awesome. Each size portion is miniscule. Moreover, only cash is accepted.

The food was very mid. The worst part is that it was expensive and the food portions were small. I would not recommend.

Our favorite Cantonese restaurant in Toronto, great selection of greens, meats, and fish dishes. It a go to day or night to satisfy the craving.

New Dky used to be the place to go for an authentic Peruvian Chifa experience. While the food is still good, it's not what it used to be. Portions are much smaller, too. Still good, but.

The good is amazing! My god it's so good. If you can, try the Peruvian/Chinese fusion food

Amazing. We have ordered at least a dozen times and have never had a single dish be anything other than great! Generous protions of proteins and very reasonable prices. The two of us usually get four dishes (3 protein and a fries rice) and have dinner for two days. Keep it up New Sky!

We ordered food for Dec 24th and spent close to $300.00- and my entire family got food poisoning. NEVER ordering or reccomending this place. EVER

Seafood was not cooked properly? Now my stomach hurt like crazy. Definitely the worst restaurant I had ever been!

Great food. Busy busy busy. When a Chinese restaurant are full of Chinese patrons, I believe says something to what they serve!

Busy restaurants are usually a sign that it's good, and it was good. It just wasn't "great". The wait-staff were working quite quickly from seating, to taking orders, serving food and clearing plates etc, can't really fault them. The food also tasted really nice. Couldn't fault that either. It's just the slow and staggered serving of the dishes. We ordered an appetizer (spring rolls), sizzling beef dish for instance with some fried rice and another pork dish. Yet the beef comes out with the appetizer, 10 minutes later the pork, 15 minutes later the rice finally shows up. Shouldn't the rice be the quickest thing to cook? Why can't this come out with the mains? I don't know about you but I like to have the rice alongside my saucey meat dishes and so I waited and waited for the rice to come and when it did the rest of my food was almost cold. It's like if I wanted a sandwich and I get the filling, expected to eat that by itself and then handed the bread slices afterwards. I watched another table who obviously ordered separate main meals, intermittently get one plate at a time. By the time the last lady finally received her meal the rest of the table had finished theirs. So the problem here rests with the kitchen.

I tried the Peruvian menu "chifa" and it was OK, with generous portions and reasonable prices.

The special fried rice is really nice, other dishes as well.surprisingly they serve peruvian food. I'll try it on my next visit

Socond time there for dinner, and it did not disapoint.
We had Beef in Black Bean Sauce, Shanghai Noodles, and Clams.
The place was busy, but the food came quickly, and staff was friendly and helpful.

Great food in generous portions, reasonable prices and attentive service. Everything was yummy, especially the sizzling beef.

Always a great soup of the day. Excellent authentic Chinese cuisine.

When we're needing our proper Chinese food fix (while) in Chinatown, we always end up at this place. The green sign outside is also easy to find!

Good quality food, nice relaxing ambiance, priced reasonably, friendly waitstaff (especially the tall middle-aged gentleman who's always smiling, joking and attentive - haven't seen him lately though, hope he's ok) - and - is NOT a cash-only establishment.

The dishes are big and made really well. Flavours were traditional yet unique in comparison to other Chinese restaurant. Snow pea leaves were really good, highly recommend. Service was good, seating was comfortable and they have a good Atmosphere, especially if it's your birthday.

Me and my wife ordered the house special fried rice. (Chicken beef shrimp pork mix) $15. The portion was HUGGGEE. We could only finish half of it. The staff are extra nice. Loved this place. Was recommended to us by an Uber eats delivery person. So glad I went in. Totally recommended.

For standard Hong Kong fare cannot go wrong with this place. Pricing is appropriate and the meat is cooked perfectly and flavoured well.

It has been one of my favorite restaurants for 3 years, the food is delicious and the service is fantastic.

Been eating here with my family since I was little I am now 18 and still enjoy going here and eating whenever I’m in Toronto!

Pro tip: there’s a whole secret menu! You can ask them for the “chifa” menu upon entry and they’ll probably be surprised, and hurry away to go get it for you.another pro tip: make SURE you choose to drink Inca Brew; the ice-cold beverage of choice for anyone eating from the “chifa” menu.

The food and service was good! I ordered a glass of wine witch was bad had been sitting around in the bottle for a long time!

Very disappointing (delivery)

Had to look hard to find the chicken in the sweet and sour chicken balls - very doughy and very little meat. Sweet and sour sauce bland.

Chicken wings dry and also skimpy on the meat.

Other reviews seem to suggest that dining in is great but takeaway is terrible. Are they running two different kitchens/chefs for their dine in and takeaway operations?

Total disappointment - avoid. Now going to the store to get a sandwich.

We went here after the first lockdown was lifted so it was quite busy. We never really intended to go but we were curious because it was swamp with customers and boy oh boy it didn't disappoint. We ordered some fried calamari, stir fried noodles, house special fried rice and the stir fried pea shoots. I would say it tasted authentic and you could taste the smokiness coming from stir frying using a gas stove. I have gone there one more time because their food is really addictive. Their service is not bad either and they are located at Spadina Avenue which can be easily be accessible by transit. If you are in downtown Toronto and you are craving for a Chinese food don't hesitate to try them

It was not a planned dinner, but I'm happy we stopped by! The staff is super friendly, and the food was delicious. There's a special menu only written in Chinese so, if you know the language check that out. If you speak Spanish, they also know a little and makes the communication great.

Got takeout
General tao chicken (use big pieces of chicken and breading is reasonable) & Pig Tripe w/ Chinese Mustard And Pepper Soup are out of this world!

I ordered food from this restaurant. The food is not good and I got piece of hair in the food. It was a bad experience for me.

This is seriously some of the best food Spadina has to offer. Very tasty and fresh. Large portion sizes are great for sharing!

This place deserves more than 5 stars. The service was good but it's the food that really pays dividends here.

We ordered the Calimari (amazing) Chow Mein, Seafood Fried Rice and Spicy Chicken. All four dishes were amazing. Full of flavor and spice.

Have tried more than 10 dishes, most dishes are pretty good and tasty. Food is extremely fresh. Server Sharon is very nice, friendly and fast. Love dinning here. Btw, BBQ tasty sweet and bitter, doesn't know why.

I am a regular customer at New Sky, I love their food however the take out was horrible. The Yang Chow fried rice was hard with little to almost no shrimp, didn't see any Pork, the Beef in Black Bean Sauce had very few pieces of meat very small portion of Sweet & Sour Chicken, the fried rice was not fresh tasted old. I am very disappointed at the quality of the food considering I spend $82.00 and drove all the way from Mississauga i am so disappointed. Normally the food has been good dining in however the take out was horrible and it seems like their take out food is different quality from the dine in food, I WILL NEVER EVER DO TAKE OUT FROM THIS RESTAURANT!

Great variety of excellent dishes at a very reasonable price. Service is friendly but can be slow for dine-in and take out when they are busy, but otherwise highly recommended.

Not an Asian insight not sure if thats because of Covid. The soups are still good. The scallops were not. The old wait staff are not there. Not sure if this is just a one time thing or if the place has really just shifted in quality.

Unhygiene food. They didnt wash the vegetables and also found rotten green peppers in side. Bad food, bad experience.

Their food is amazing and they're always so nice and helpful. They have a Spanish menu as well and even though the staff are mainly Chinese, they're trying to learn Spanish to communicate more with their customers. I try to come here at least 4 times a year because it's just that good.

Freshly made food (veggies included), nice customer service, including at the take out orders' desk. Vast and varied menu; excellent location for Chinese Food group dining. I love the reasonable pricing. 1 male waiter nervously looking me over as if for approval caused the 1 unearned star!

I went with for friends for the Peruvian menu. As a disclaimer, I am Peruvian and had big expectations of this place as it was highly recommended. Overall I think the food is good and the prices are fair. Four people can get a filling meal (sharing 5-6 dishes including appetizers) for 110-130 total. The chaufa rise is good and so are the fried wonton but he later have almost no filling. My favourite mains were the chicken chicharrón and Chi Jau Kay chicken. In contrast, the garlic pork did not lived to expectations. I would definetly go back.

Solid tasty Chinese food downtown. Food came out fast and everything was generally very tasty. Good service for my mom’s 65th birthday. Nice touch where they dimmed the entire restaurants lights and played happy bday in an English and Canto mix.

Friendly staff (pushy but still polite) and great selection of food. The bbq duck was slightly saltier than expected but still great. The crispy duck and lemon chicken were amazing. So was the house rice.

Oh wow! Their beef with broccoli is the best I ever tried! Fast service, very friendly staff and the most important - delicious food. Variety of dishes. They serve alcohol too.

Service was attentive. Each dish was very nicely prepared, tasty and served piping hot. Very good value. Enjoyed by all from the 2 yr old to the 75 yr old.

It was just a normal day, relaxing by the pool, chilling in the sun, and I thought " I want Chinese food" and it all went down hill from there. I had the chicken and it was SO bad, I actually threw up! VERY BAD!

Despite it being a late night dine-in, the staff delivered great and friendly customer service. They delivered the food quickly and it was very tasty. The price is also good for what it's worth. I would come back again.

I ordered chili chicken from this restaurant on UberEats, and literally after I pressed order, it went from preparing order to delivering order in a matter of 5 seconds. It's impossible to have this dish prepared in that little time, unless they just happened to have the dish laying around after someone changed their mind about it. I actually suspect that they probably gave me someone else's left overs, because it was late and they just couldn't be bothered cooking that night. If that's the case, that's pretty gross. So right away, I just knew something weird was going to happen with my food, but I had no choice but to wait for it. Well, as I predicted.when the food came, it not only looked gross and was cold, it wasn't even the dish that I had ordered. What I received, was plain cold noodles. And considering it took them 5 seconds to make, it probably came off of someone else's plate. Well I was disgusted, threw it away, and called UberEats to get my money back. I definitely left this restaurant a bad rating on UberEats. I was only refunded the cost of the food, but not compensated for the time I spent having to wait for the delivery driver to deliver this disgusting meal, and having to call UberEats customer service to get a refund.

We ordered the supreme fried rice which I was told had lots of sea food. It was rice with egg whites some sort of fish sauce and mabey 4 tiny shrimp. When we brought it up to the waitress, she insisted it was fine. We explained that the label was misleading and that we had been told there would be more sea food but she dismissed it and insisted it was fine. Some food here is very good, but this plate was not worth it and the situation was not handled well this time.

Tasty, piping hot and reasonable. Favourite spot for Cantonese food downtown. Staff are friendly too. Much prefer this place to the overrated Rol San down the road.

Theres not much you can say. If you want the real spadina Chinatown experience this is one of the best places to go. It's not the most fresh interior but its open all night with great food. Who can complain? Fried rice and crispy orange beef are two personal faves but everything is good. Relaxed space good for groups of all sizes and now they even take debit!

My friend and I came in an hour before closing. We were given free bowls of their daily soup and dessert after we ordered since they were closing relatively soon. The free food was kinda cold but free is always welcome. The food we actually ordered were delicious. Service was great and even observed a dine and dash and how professional the service staff handled it. Sucks that the absent owners would withhold staff pay if a customer leaves without paying.

I loved the food the first time, not so much on the second. The bbq duck was dry and microwaved as some pieces were hot and others cold. I'm willing to give it another chance, though.

What sets New Sky apart from their competitors (other than excellent dim sum) is their friendly and welcoming staff.

How many times have I been here?
Maybe once or twice a year. Maybe 10-15 times since 2009. I always come here with Thai people, my family, friends and coworkers. It seems like a food spot for Thai people.

FOOD (3 stars)
They have many kinds of seafood such as lobster, crab, fish, clam, oyster, and scallop. I try to avoid having Chinese food because I usually eat Thai food 4-5 days a week already. Their food is quite similar, and many dishes are oily. However, many dishes are difficult to deny.
We often order the same dishes almost every time. They were Live Lobsters in different kind of sauces, Fried rice with Crabs, Cold Chicken with Jelly Fish, Steamed Live Seabass, Snow Pea Leaves with King Mushrooms, etc. However, we also tried new items this time too. We had razor clams in Black Bean Sauce, Stuff Crab Claw and Sautéed Jumbo Shrimp with Szechuan Sauce. My today favorite was Cold Chicken!

AMBIANCE (3 stars)
They have many round tables. Each table is good for ten people. The restaurant could seat at least 100 people in their dining room. The best thing is they close very late on Sunday to Thursday at 2 am.and open until 5 am in the morning on Friday and Saturday. That is kind of cool for a night owl~

It is hard to expect excellent service in China town. However, they were friendly and attentive.
