New Tribe Tattoo + Piercing

My friend and I came in to get a septum and nose piercing. The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and informative of the piercing process. We then were introduced to our piercer Kaay, who was extremely friendly, tentative and welcoming. The entire process was seamless and professional, and Kaay made myself and my friend feel extremely comfortable. 10/10 would recommend getting pierced here for the best experience:)

Day 5 since my nose piercing with Fae!
It's been healing well. I was SO nervous about getting it done. Deciding on it was solid, however, so I researched and read tons of reviews of many, many different places. I have previous piercing experiences of the nose and ears, some of which didn't heal well and had infection issues, so I gave up on them (including the nose in the same place).

Reading excellent reviews about Fae, I still had doubts (you know how it's hard to trust reviews these days), but as soon as I walked in, Miles at the reception was so welcoming and genuinely friendly and made me feel at ease right away. Fae was available soon (I called ahead and made sure she was available that day) and handled the entire process professionally with her calming/reassuring personality - and she was fast!

**In short, Fae is a PRO. **

You can tell that she loves her job and does it SO WELL. She was very calm, which immensely helped my nerves, and she did not forget to remind me to take deep breaths.

The whole place looked well-managed, clean, and laid out nicely. Even though it wasn't close to where I live, if I ever decide on more piercings or even tattoos, I would not hesitate to return to New Tribe. I have already told my friends about the place.

**ALSO, this was my first experience where the piercer (Fae) not only thoroughly explained to me about aftercare and the healing process but also to contact her any time if I have problems or questions afterward. Thank you, Fae, for the smooth experience!

This was my first piercing and my piercer was Fae. It was a great experience, before I realized anything we were already done. If you need a piercing, I recommend Fae, she is the best

If you're someone who feels nervous before getting pierced or if you just want a cool new piercing, then this is the place for you! I got my septum done by Fae and they were so lovely and patient throughout the entire process. They really put me at ease (which is exactly what I needed), answered all my questions and explained the aftercare in a lot of detail. And in the end, I barely felt the actual piercing!

The space was also great and everyone I interacted with was super polite. I definitely will be going back to get more piercings done!

A friend and I got joint tattoos here (it was my first) and the experience was great. The lady on the front desk was very welcoming and helpful and our tattoo artist, Ryan, was fantastic. He was super friendly and very patient as we tried out different positioning for the tattoos and was very good at checking in with me as it was my first. We’re very pleased with our tattoos and would highly recommend Ryan and his New Tribe crew

This was my second time getting a piercing by Faye and it was again, a lovely experience! Faye took care to match the piercing placement with my other ear, and walked me through all of the aftercare. Would definitely recommend Faye:)

I went to get a helix piercing by fae, they were super friendly, wore a mask, and sanitized the utensils before the piercing.they explained everything in detail and helped decide and clarify the placement before proceeding.good customer service and the piercing was done well, 10/10 recommend and would came back again for another piercing! Got a big tattoo piece on my forearm by Nate and he was fricken spectacular! From our initial consultation I knew he would listen to what I wanted and do his best to accomplish it and he really did. Super happy with his work! And had a really fun time chatting with him while he did his thing.

Also got a smaller tattoo a couple days prior as a walk-in from Mark, they were able to accommodate me on short notice which was really nice. 10/10 on both fronts.

The only minor critique that I have, is maybe the front end receptionist could be a little nicer. Maybe she was having a bad day or something idk but it was a little off putting at first for me. I'm chalking it up to her not feeling well. Who knows. Besides that, really great experience and I'll definitely be returning.

Nate is very good at listening to verbal descriptions and accurately interpreting them into visual art. He offers suggestions without being pushy or getting his ego wounded if you disagree. I went in with a vision and an idea and accepting Nate's suggestions, made it way better than I originally imagined.

Had a great experience getting my conch pierced with Stacy! My friend and I came into the shop for a walk-in at opening and only had to wait twenty minutes before we were seen by one of their piercers. Stacy had great communication and patience. Would definitely go back for another piercing in the future!

My first piercing experience was here and I have to say it was amazing! I got both my Lobes peirced and I love them. I was really nervous and Fae did a fantastic job! They made sure I felt comfortable and safe, and that was very much appreciated. If I get more piercings I will for sure come back and see Fae!

Just had my fourth tattoo here, after getting my first one in 2017. The service has been top-notch, the artists are great, skilled and accommodating. Great integrity as well. I’ve moved 4 times living in Toronto but I’ve never changed tattoo shop and that will continue in the future.

Great customer service. I showed up 45 minutes late for my appointment and they were very understanding. This was my third time, in the past I’ve been tattooed by Luke and Leah (They were excellent, Luke was an excellent artist and Leah was so gentle I took a nap) this time was Conrad and he was very quick and produced quality work and made the piece suit the rest of my sleeve. While this piece may have been in a sensitive area and it is quite bloody I still have a tattoo that looks great and is cohesive to the rest of my arm.

Amazing experience. The place has a great vibe to it. Fae was very friendly and hands on with all the information, the procedure was absolutely painless. I’m returning, whenever, for my next piercing. Highly recommend.

I came here for an ear lobe piercing on each ear; Stacy was the one who did them for me, and let me just say: I barely felt anything. And in an instant, I had piercings. This place is wonderful, I walked out with a smile from ear to ear, and the people there are really friendly and chill. 10/10 would recommend.

Been going to New Tribe my entire life, it is the GOAT tattoo and piercing parlour in Toronto. Last year, I almost passed the hell out after getting my nose pierced and I was hooked up with not one but TWO cans of Orange Crush, because that's how they roll at New Tribe. Thank you for all that y'all do, team!

Got a second lobe piercing and it was a super enjoyable experience! The appointment set up was simple and efficient. I got pierced by Fae and they were super supportive the whole time. The piercing itself did not hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. When I get the chance I'll totally come back here for a third lobe piercing!

Came to ask a question before making appointment and was standing in line just to have the guy leave and attend to someone that just walked in. Another staff did the same after asking if we were in line to just be ignored right after. Waited a few more minutes before having to announce myself. A bit frustrating. Maybe they were having an off day? I’ll give em the benefit of the doubt.
My appointment itself with Fae great. Straight forward and they were friendly and approachable. Hope the jewelry heals nicely with the piercing.

I had my tattoo done with Conrad, he did my tattoo exactly the way i wanted to. I was very happy, he also explained the care of the tattoo during the healing process. Stacy did my piercings, she was also very friendly, she explained the care of the piercings while they heal. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get tattoos and piercings. It is my go to place

I have to say, I cannot recommend this place more for tattoos and piercings. So far, I've gotten two tattoos at New tribe and got my ear pierced by Fae yesterday (2022-08-10). The employees working at New Tribe are beyond friendly, they make you feel comfortable and safe, and the atmosphere there just completely removes all anxiety and stress from your body. Fae, who was my piercer did an outstanding job. First off, she was SO SWEET AND KIND, she comforted me before getting my ear pierced and made small talk to keep me distracted from the needle. Not to mention the job she did, it was clean, fast and professional. It felt like I was in there for 30 seconds and out. I highly recommend anyone visiting New Tribe to get their ears pierced to go to Fae! She was incredible. Thank you to the staff here and thank you for always being so kind and welcoming! 100/10 would recommend. <3

Edit 2022: have been here a few more times since 2018. Every time is as awesome as before! New piercers are well trained and very efficient. I believe they have more starter jewelry options than last time, with more sizes and gem styles. I will always come here for my piercings:)

2018: Very professional front desk staff; Shayne is a very experienced and skilled piercer. My friends got their conch and forward helix done with minimal pain, and they are all healing well. Pricing is fair. There are a few starter jewelry choices available to choose from.

I feel bad writing this but my septum is so high up in my nose man it's goofy:/ i was so confused after getting it pierced because i couldn't see the jewellery at all.the swelling has gone down, it's been months since and it's still only awkwardly slightly sticking out, you can only juuust kinda see the balls and i feel so stupid and in pain for reason. I would buy a size up as they advised to do after but due to the placement so high and forward in the tip of my nose I really doubt anything wider will fit comfortably and I'm concerned.tbh the whole experience was a bit iffy and they were swearing under their breath that they'd messed it up while the needle was in my face, did not inspire confidence and i was disappointed.cute building tho

Brought my two kiddos here because I remembered from my own experience a few decades ago (ahem) that New Tribe is an amazing, reputable, professional environment with knowledgeable and kind staff. Faye was amazing with my kids- communicative, informative, patient, and totally all about principles of consent. Really appreciated the experience and my newly pierced kids (earlobes and daith, respectively) did too.

I was naive i guess back then when i got my first tattoo but i didnt think that a professional studio would rip me off like that LOL.no hate it was a while a go and i love the tattoo and it means so much to me but i cant believe i paid more than $180 before tip:/ it was a small size and it wasnt even the artist’s design.came back but with my friend the next day and she asked about the pricing for the exact same tatt, same size and same placement and the other artist said $75.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Nate at New Tribe. He was incredibly welcoming and accommodating for both of my tattoos. I felt incredibly comfortable and relaxed each time. Not only is he a phenomenal artist, and extremely professional he's also a wonderful human being in general, I'm positive I'll be back to see him once I have another tattoo design in mind. The experience in the parlor was also wonderful in general, I've been there twice now in the course of just over a month, each time everyone was Friendly and kind, not to mention the parlor itself is a very clean with a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

I cannot recommend both Nate and New Tribe Tattoo enough.

Been coming to new tribe for over a decade! Everyone is always a class act. Mark has done some phenomenal art on my sleeve. Thank you for being my tattoo go to! I am regularly complemented on my Tattoos and always let people know about New Tribe. It’s been around since ‘94 for a reason.

This was my first time getting a tattoo here, this place was recommended by a friend who has gotten quite a few tattoos from new tribe so I thought to give it a try. The artist who had done my tattoo was Rat who was absolutely amazing they were so nice and talked about cats which made the time fly by (context - i was getting a cat tattooed turned out great btw). They were very understanding about my confusion with sizing and helped me out with it and i couldn't be happier with how it turned out:)

Had a great tattoo experience with Rat. They took their time making sure I was satisfied with the look and placement of my piece and made sure I was comfortable throughout the tattooing process. There is even a 10 day follow up email sent out to make sure your tattoo is healing well, never experienced that before with other places. Shop was very clean, and everyone in the shop is friendly, and professional! 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend, and I will be returning here for more work in the future.

My 9-year old and her best friend got their ears by Stacy. The experience was phenomenal! First, they allowed all 4 of us (2 girls, 2 moms) go into the room together. Then, Stacy explained everything she was going to do with patience and kindness. She spoke directly to the girls making them feel comfortable and in control. She made sure she had their consent before doing anything. She exuded competency and professionalism. She expertly and beautifully pierced the girls ears, commending them for their bravery the whole time. Afterward she posed for a photo with both of them, and then the very kind lady at the front desk gave them each a treat bag! Experience was so incredibly positive, the girls and us moms will cherish it forever!

I have gotten piercings done at New Tribe and always had a good experience. I recently got a conch piercing at another piercing studio and after not being happy with the jewelry, New Tribe saved the day. Stacy was fantastic and gave me great information that I was not previously aware about. Definitely recommend going to New Tribe. Prices are also great.

Horrible experience. My friend and I got piercings here this summer from Sky/Skylar. Our piercings were immediately infected and continued to bleed and cause problems for the next few months even after cleaning them regularly. I had to go to the doctor to get it checked as well and he recommended a few things. I took my earrings out after 3 months, and one of them closed within a day and the other formed a bump at the back of my ear. I reached out to New Tribe and expressed my concerns, and they were extremely dismissive and apathetic. Without investigating further into the problems I was having, they blamed me for their own wrongdoings. They were extremely unprofessional when I reached out to them. All I was hoping from them was some sort of solution to my ears and perhaps offering to open up one of my piercings. Instead they were extremely rude. Please see pictures attached of their unprofessionalism and their inability to take criticism and help their customers.

Got my first tattoo this morning from Leah. I could not be happier! She was friendly, professional, and made sure I was comfortable. I have a very low pain tolerance and it was super easy, barely hurt. The tattoo turned out absolutely wonderful. The shop was clean and bright and a welcoming environment. I would recommend New Tribe and Leah to anyone in the area wanting a tattoo. I will definitely be coming back for more!

I got my first, and probably not my last, tattoo from Nate at New Tribe. He quickly put me at ease and helped me work out the technicalities of the small design I wanted. The tattoo itself was relatively painless compared with the nightmare of pain I was expecting and Nate kept me talking during the procedure to keep my mind off of what he was doing. I got my septum pierced by Skylar and she was absolutely amazing; she explained everything to me since I was really nervous about getting my nose pierced. She answered all my questions and reassured me that all piercings heal differently and to make sure I clean it twice a day. The bead fell out a few days later and I went back to get a new one, I think it was Daryl who replaced it; he even told me that if it happens again to come back and they'll replace the whole ring. Very happy with my experience at New Tribe! Will definitely be back to get my other ear piercings too

Love this place. Been here for a few piercings and is now my go-to if I need anything done. I've worked with Daryl - he really knows his stuff, he makes you feel comfortable, and also has very good technique. They accept every mainstream payment method, and no appointments needed. Nicely decorated, comfortable seating, very, very clean studio rooms. Major disinfection and sanitization area in the back, they take sterility seriously!

Brought my 7 year old to have her ears pierced for the first time. The staff were so amazing with kids, even had a loot bag for her after. The whole experience was overwhelmingly positive. Highly recommend.

At New Tribe today.had small tattoo done by Mark Storey. 74 yrs old and my first tattoo.me, daughter and grand daughter got similar tattoos to celebrate my grand daughter's U of T graduation. It was a delightful experience thanks to Mark.

Fair pricing, walked in and friends got appointments right then and there. Squeezed us into their schedule but didn’t rush the tattoos. Good quality, reasonable price, and friendly staff.

I inquired about a tattoo quote and setting up an appointment, I got paired up with Veronice. Everything went well, very chill atmosphere which is nice. I'm happy with the tattoo (script). Appointment was at 12, I was out, paid, done by 12: 50ish. Veronica told me how to care for the tattoo and I also recieved a tattoo aftercare card, instructions are also available on their website. I went there to get a vertical hood piercing. I was very nervous going in. However, as soon as I walked in the door and described what I wanted, the staff member at the front desk made feel at ease right away.

The staff were all friendly and professional. I felt comfortable throughout the whole procedure. The lady who performed the procedure kept me informed on all the steps she was taking. This made me feel more comfortable, as there were no surprises. She did an amazing job. Would definitely recommend this place!

(in jett's words, veronica was very considerate about taking breathers from the needle.) my artist's station was in the same area, so i could hear them talking occasionally - veronica really was the picture of patience, and was super reassuring my very nervous friend!

i got my tattoo from wes.he was very thorough, and delivered such a wonderful design from an honestly pretty vague and rambly description.throughout the actual process, he checked in on how i was doing multiple times, even when i gave no protest at all - i appreciate that a lot! I'm glad he saw through my (bad) poker face and gave me lots of breaks.my tattoo (and jett's) are almost completely healed.no blowout, great line quality, and awesome caretaking advice by the artists! We'll be happy to send in pictures (i live in the states, so) for portfolios once it's been a full 2 months for good measure.finally, we are really grateful that the artists here were so kind and patient to two very nervous and loud teenagers.with any luck, i'll be able to swing by in the summer for more tattoos from wes! This review is long over due! I was in Toronto in January and finally decided to get the tattoo I’ve been wanting for a while. I did a little research and stumbled upon this place. The experience at new tribe was fantastic. I was a little nervous and super picky about how I wanted my tattoo but the girl who did it for me, Veronica, was incredibly patient and reassuring and it came out even better than I had envisioned it. I’m from the DC area but would definitely make the trip back up if I decide to get another tattoo. Highly recommend New Tribe!

I made an appointment to get matching tattoos with my girlfriend. They were incredibly accommodating. We were running a little bit late and they made time. Furthermore, they asked if we were sure about the size of the piece and I suggested that I wanted it to be larger now, so they happily enlisted another artist to ink my girlfriend so that we didn't run into any issue with time (because we had plans later that night). Mark and Aaron were awesome. Super professional, funny, and creative. My girlfriend and I are both super happy with the results. New favorite tattoos! Will definitely be going back for more work! Went in for a nostril piercing to celebrate a personal goal. Very clean, laid back atmosphere, and the mystery selection on the pop machine made me laugh. Daryl initially greeted me and offered a suggestion as to the better jewellery for my piercing. He was super cool about explaining the procedure and showing all of the sterile, unopened packages, and assured me it really wouldn't be too painful. Minutes later, I'm out with a perfectly placed piercing. Thanks for making my first "real" piercing experience way less stressful and painful than I expected. I'm already planning a return to the shop for my first tattoo, once I reach my next personal goal.

Based on exclusively my experience: Great spot. I got my septum done here recently and the whole process was quick and as painless as could be. After it went in I had some complaints about where the jewelry sat (it was virtually inside my nose) and it was redone with new jewelry in a better spot, at no extra charge. Everybody in the shop was pleasant and kind.

-1 star for horrible online customer service. I had a great interaction at this place, but I'm horrified at having a worse one and being met with absurd condescending behavior from whoever runs their social media. I understand that often people writing bad reviews are at fault for their experiences, but these responses are horrifically unprofessional.

Honestly the best place to get piercings in Toronto in my opinion and its the only place I go. Every time I visit it's super clean and the staff are really friendly. The wait time for me has never been longer than 10 minutes and the prices are good. I took my friend there to get her cartilage pierced and the piercer was very good at calming her down and talking through aftercare. The piercers all have conversations with you instead of just piercing you and telling you to leave, and its really simple to approach them with questions or concerns. Would definitely recommend for anyone.

My husband and I wanted to get wedding band tattoos for our one year anniversary. Tried booking an appointment online through online booking tool, was told someone would get back to me within 24 hours. No one did. As the day approached I called in to follow up and they said they couldn’t help me over the phone but to try walking in later. I also reached out via email to the address posted on the website.no reply. As we were on our way to attempt a walk in booking, I called and the time slot was no longer available. I did everything possible to book an appointment - I don’t understand what I could have done differently? !

Another excellent experience at New Tribe! I always go to Veronica for all my tattoo needs, and she is always understanding, precise, and gentle. This time I sent a rough design in and wasn't so clear with the design I wanted and she took everything I said/wanted and made it exactly what I was looking for! The staff are always so welcoming and fun to be around, making the tattoo even more comfortable for me. I am beyond happy with my tattoo and can't wait to visit again for my next one. I always go to Veronica for my tattoos and I could not be happier with each and every single one I've gotten from her; and she's not the only extremely gifted artist in there. Every time I go in, I get greeted with smiles and excellent customer service. Veronica is very fair with her prices and very easy to get along with. I have nice conversations with her every time I see her. I could not be happier with my experiences here and HIGHLY recommend New Tribe to everybody I know who wants tattoos.
