Great dim sum without a hefty price tag. I’ve been wanting to go here for so long and it didn’t disappoint. Went early afternoon and it wasn’t busy. Service was fine. Lots of choices on the menu. Food was fresh and tasty. Note that washrooms are down the stairs so if anyone in your group has mobility issues, this will be a challenge.
This is the restaurant that convinced my wife that there was "legit" Chinese food in Ottawa and that therefore it was acceptable to live there.
Many of their Dim sum takes are the best in Ottawa (yes I've also been to Seaking). That would be enough but they also combine that with an excellent, extremely wide dinner menu *and* a small plate late night menu. Try all 3 menus!
What comes with that calibre is a strong following of regulars in the diaspora. So get a reservation or show up at 11 sharp for dim sum. That seems to be the busiest time slot.
It is a good Chinese restaurant with dim-sum breakfast. We like the rice soup with the picked eggs and small meat balls. The service is fast and satisfying. There are free parking spots.
We always bought our Chinese food here but last night the food was just horrible. The prices increase and portions decrease like alot of places but that was not a major issue for me.the general Tao did not taste like the past.it was horrible and the chicken balls were hard like rock.food was old and stale and cause a run belly. Sad to say I would rather get my Chinese from T&T than ever buy food there again. The old chef management was better.
The service was exceptional! The guy was really nice and came by a few times to check in (definitely more western style level of service).
The food was good, definitely prefer the selection and flavor profile of Sea King, but still really good overall!
The atmosphere was average and they can hold large groups. The parking situation was a bit hard and the initial turn in was a bit sketchy so be careful.
Food is excellent. I would say it's better than a lot of Chinese cuisine restaurants in Toronto. The servers and food runners are very nice and courteous and didn't overkill. Going in a restaurant is mainly for food so I don't mind the environment is a bit old and outdated as long as it is clean and well maintained. This place was highly recommended by friends. Parking and seating are limited. This is our second visit. First visit we can't get a table as they're all reserved. Better reserve a table ahead of time and arrive early. Will definitely visit again.
This is my favorite teahouse. This Monday (August 7) may be a holiday. I arrived at around 1pm, but the hall was still full. I couldn’t wait any longer. So I bought takeout elsewhere (their kitchen couldn't cope with so many customers).
Good price, great food, friendly staff, authentic and lovely. Great place to bring guests and visitors. Great place if you love good food. Highly recommended!
The waiting time is too long, and I have to say there is no service.the first dish for our table is the dessert. The food tasted ok. Could not give it with a high rate
Visited in June 2023: We were looking forward to trying this place as it was recommended by a co-worker. First impression wasn't the greatest as this restaurant looks a bit outdated, and they have this plastic table cover (like a plastic bag) that would stick to your arms all the time!
Food was served within 15 minutes after ordering. Some dishes tasted good, but there was an off-taste with their dipping sauce and water/tea. We couldn't pinpoint that taste, but suspected that could be the taste of tap water, which affected how the food tasted! We packed our leftover home, and the leftover difinitely tasted better without their dipping sauce.
I would recommend their lemon chicken. Visually, it wasn't appealing, but it was zesty and dilicious!
Been here many times. This is a review for visits I. The past year. This was or is my aunts favourite place to take family or friends and for good reason. They have many menu items which cater not just to North American palates of standard Canadian chinese fare but also many menu items which are more authentic Cantonese cooking. The prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food for the cost. If I find my pictures I will come back and post them. I definitely recommend this. A noisy restaurant when it’s busy, many chinese families dine here so that is a good sign of good authentic food! Try Peking duck, crispy Hong Kong chow mein, steamed whole fish, fish maw soup (fish bladder… I know not sounds gross but it’s very mild with a slight chew and overall has the most delicate flavours and interesting texture). Soy sauce chicken, cold cut steamed chinese chicken, stir fried lobster! Seafood and veggies in a deep fried edible taro nest! Too bad they do not have a picture menu.
They have one of the most delicious Chinese foods in town. We used to go all the way out to the east side dor dimsum till we gave this place a try. Dimsum was delicious, portions were fair and service was great. We went back for lunch a few days later and their lunch menus were amazing as well. I highly recommend. Parking ate often full, but there are lots of space around the restaurant.
Sorry. The food wasnt good. The cuttle fish was so chewy. The chicken and shrimp spring roll were very good. The steamed rice comes with pork inside i wouod have been nice to know in the description.not my thing. I tried the deep fried squid tentacles dish ok but chewy than usual. Tumip cakes were bland
