Ni Ji Sushi Japanese Restaurant

I ordered takeout from this place. Sushi smells very pungent and rancid.texture was slimy and it felt like it was defrosted a few minutes ago. Highly recommend you do not order from this place unless you want food poisoning

For real a hidden gem in the area. You get SO much tempura and the sushi is great too. I love coming back to this place.

The food never disappoints! We both had Bento boxes which came with miso soup, rice soup and salad. The tempura was crispy, the portions large and everything was fresh. The prices are still reasonable for what you receive. Service is always quick and efficient.

Food is ok - rice needs more seasoning, most sashimi were sinewy / had odd cuts, tempura well fried & stayed crisp, maki should be rolled tighter

Great food, an amazing atmosphere and a very friendly and attentive staff. I've been coming here for over a decade and can't get enough. It's my favorite sushi spot in the city!

First time here. The food was good and fresh. The staff were attentive and let you relax and enjoy your meal without being rushed out. Will definitely be going back.

This place has been consistently serving quality sushi for years. I have been going there since about 2010. Service is always fast food is always fresh. Just a good place to eat.

Use to there a lot, but since management changed not so much not that enjoyable will have to find a new place. Sad

Haven't been to Ni Ji in 1-2 months and got a sticker shock when we saw our usual Love Boat price was $10 more! About 25% increase. The place was still very busy, service was good and the food was still good but would have given a 3.5 star if I could.

24-12-2021 had takeout and although I had ordered a day prior with a specific pickup time, I had to wait an additional 25 minutes. I have to admit they were super busy and backed up with numerous takeout orders!

17-09-2022 had takeout a few times and they were very good, having the order ready just prior to pickup time

07-01-2023 Ordered ahead as usual but had to wait about 15 minutes. There was another person picking up and they had to also wait. Usually 4: 30-6: 00 isn't busy but the restaurant was filled. Food was still good.

Jul/2023 Dined in, wasn't very busy surprisingly. Service and food was quite good, some changes to what we ordered but all good

The place was full many takeout orders which is a good sign. The food was above average, the tempura’s and salmon were particularly good.the other fish were alright. The bento box’s are value and are packed with food. I highly recommend this spot if ur around the area!

Love their sushi, tempora, teriyaki, sashimi. All is good. I think Koreans are running the place. Love their greetings and how they say thank you and goodbye.

I was not a fan of sushi until I came here with my wife, amazing food! Fried shrimp was out of this world

Good sushi place in Scarborough, always full even on a Monday night. Couples should try the love boat! The sashimi is very good here. Staff are friendly, and helpful. 10 percent discount if you pay cash. They are very quick if you are ordering take out or picking up. The scallop roll is quite nice.

The food was not as tasty as before. The chicken Teriyaki was only topped with teriyaki sauce, not fried at all, very unusual. The waiters were hurrying up very unprofessionally even before the closing time (9: 30pm).

We went for lunch and the food was delicious. There were vegetarian options and the lunch deal was a lot of food! The service was efficient and organized. The mushroom roll was especially nice.

It was a good experience. They had a good kick to their spicy salmon roll. I felt like it was more spicy than what I get from other places. Service was good they had a waitress on stand-by, and she'd always ask us if we needed anything. The atmosphere the restaurant just seems like it needs a make-over. Everything just looks old. Overall I'd say it's a great place.

My first time. My friend took me for my bday lunch. It was great.friendly ppl and the food was delish. Definitely will be going again.

I had heard good things about this restaurant so I was looking forward to trying it. I ordered some bento boxes that had sushi and sashimi and they were disappointing. The portions were fine, the raw fish wasn't fresh and tasted watery. The cooked portions were just ok. Probably won't come back.

The food is average, the price is a bit high, two women are required to work, and one is not buried for rest

I'm so confused how this place is rated so high, it's absolute garbage. So many staff and the restaurant was empty - sounds like self-promotion to me.

Absolutely one of my favourite sushi spots in the GTA! The food is amazing & probably the most authentic Japanese sushi you could get in the area. I went to dine-in w my boyfriend on a Tuesday early afternoon & the place was busy! The service was great; we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. We ordered their lunch special beef teriyaki bento box, shrimp tempura and spicy salmon maki; all tasted amazing. Appetizers of miso soup, salad and congee were served first which also tasted great. I can’t say anything bad about this place! Although on the pricier side compared to an AYCE sushi place, I’d choose Ni Ji over an AYCE restaurant because you’re paying for quality food & great service.

Hands down the best sushi place in my life. I can't order from anywhere else. I've ordered take out, delivery and dined in here for years. Service is always great - everyone is very polite. I took a friend here recently who was in awe of their food presentation. Felt special to share this gem with a friend. Whether you're from Scarborough or not, definitely THE sushi spot to check out.
