For a $256 exam (before tax), I felt I was left to deduce from the vet's vague comments what was happening with my dog - no clear diagnosis given - and I had to determine the treatment course myself based on vague, generalized comments such as a heart murmur (but talk to your own vet), lump in shoulder (talk to your own vet), could be back pain / stiffness, doesn't seem to bothered when palpated, a little sensitive in the back hips, etc. The vet tech asked if I knew he had skin allergies which I did not but I changed his food a month ago. I asked the vet if the abdominal distension (my chief complaint was very bloated gut, clearly in pain, anxious) could be a dietary issue from changing food a month ago and should I discontinue it (again she replied talk to your regular vet).

I raised fears about feeding my dog all weekend until I could see our vet (again she replied talk to your own vet we don't discuss food here). Then she said "but if you want I can take an x-ray" - what does that mean - if I want? What I wanted was to know if I needed to change his food to a prescription diet for the weekend, not to make up random expensive tests when she wasn't recommending them.

In the end, I decided I'd circle back to getting my dog pain relief medications based on the comment she made earlier on about potential sore back & tenderness in the upper hind legs.

But if I wasn't feeling like I was in detective mode trying to decipher her comments since early on, I may not have been as attentive to all the details and ended up ordering a $450 x-ray that wasn't needed.

I'm giving the rest of the staff, their availability 24/7 and the clinic itself 5 stars, but the vet 1 star for being heartless when she clearly has the ABILITY to answer pet health questions but chose not to.

I'm also giving myself 3 stars for doing a decent job at my detective work, saving myself hundreds of dollars in tests and getting my dog out of pain which was my objective.

I wish I could give them minus stars. They do not care about animals at all. At the end of the day all they care about is how much money they’re bringing in. I called last night because something was going on with my dog but I unfortunately lost my card that day and had to put a block on it. Asked them if I could get her checked out and just pay tomorrow morning when I can get to the bank. They said they would not even be able to see her without the 240 down. They need to come up with better options. They’re in an emergency clinic, and it’s not right for animals to suffer because their fees are outrageous and again they don’t care about the animals. They care about money at the end of the day. I even asked if I could leave some thing as collateral I even said I will leave my cell phone. But it was the middle of the night and no banks are open at that time and obviously everyone I know is sleeping and I’m not gonna wake them up. This was just outrageous and again they don’t care about animals. They’ll let animals die before anything. They only care about the value amount they don’t care about animals.

I brought in my Senior cat recently and it was a very positive experience. Dr Bond was amazing as well as the rest of the staff. I was able to get in immediately. The staff was very kind and considerate and faxed over all the information to my Vet.
27 October 2023 18:14
Surprised they even call this place an ‘emergency vet’ when they have 0 staff on hand for an actual emergency & tell you to go to Hamilton or Burlington. Do better.
10 October 2023 19:28
Worst place ever. Vet was rude and un-knowledgable, she had to go to her computer and look things up every time we asked a question. Vet tried to say she had a disease that created lock jaw in dogs 3 years old and younger, In different breeds than my dog. My dog is 11 and hadn't eaten in a few days but was still opening her mouth no problem, and when I asked the vet what to do about that while we wait for test results, she shrugged. 2 days later and my dog has worsened and they refuse to let me bring her back telling me I can try Hamilton or one of the places around here. When I informed her I called all the vets around and they're booked she had a snide remark saying "one of them will be available although I cant be specific on which one" Avoid his place if you love your pets.

I arrived to the hospital with my injured dog and saw a sign that said stop and call, I called and they asked me a couple questions and I explained what was going on with my dog and they told me they were busy and to try another hospital. This is supposed to be a 24 hour emergency hospital
28 August 2023 16:42
We get to the building, I call the number above the door so that they can let me in. My Dog is having little seizures in the waiting room as I was asked to fill out a form. I asked if my dog can have water and she could not. It was 12: 54am at the time we handed them the form over which took 5 min. She tells us to sit tight as she fills out her side of the form at the front desk.
34min. Pass and she still hasn't come back to the room to check on our dog. Me and my wife are both sitting on the floor holding our dog as she is having a seizure, I got up and opened the door to see that woman that is supposed to be filling out the form is sitting at her desk laughing with two other coworkers and still hasn't filled out the form. This place is a joke, if you want a place to take your pets I would suggest anywhere other than this place.
This place wasn't busy at all and they do not take their job seriously.

Took our sweet boy to the clinic tonight. Great staff, took great care of our boy.we appreciated the. So much.thank you to everyone there. We saw Dr Cara Sheppard and she was great!
05 July 2023 5:48
I want to thank Dr. Lawton. My dog tore his dew claw away from the quick and he was in a great deal of pain and it had to be removed. My dog is extremely aggressive with vets and very few are comfortable treating him. She was absolutely wonderful. She took her time with him, went at his pace and didn’t try to just rush us out and stayed calm when his aggression came out. Thank you
03 July 2023 22:14
Raine and Bailee were absolutely amazing. They were very knowledgable, helpful and calm. They both took the time to listen to us and made sure our pup was doing okay. We can’t thank you all enough for helping us through a stressful situation!
06 June 2023 13:59
My 17 year old cat required end of life services yesterday and I couldn’t get in to see my regular vet until next week. Since my vet is a partner clinic with this one they sent me a referral which waived the emergency fee. When Dr Kristina took 1 look at my cat, she confirmed what I already knew, that he was dying, and took any doubts I had about bringing him in for euthanasia. She then waived the exam fee, because there was no exam. She made him comfortable, and took us both into their comfort room where she so gently and compassionately helped him cross over. As terrible as the whole situation was, the compassion of the Dr, and all of the staff I encountered made the heart wrenching process a lot easier. Thank you to the staff at the clinic for all of your help, and keeping it together when I was falling apart.
01 June 2023 8:30
Had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Jessica Dickie this morning, after our pup had an allergic reaction. She was so incredibly nice and formal, as well as very good at handling our very excited (and very crazy) dog! Thank you very much for exceptional care.
12 May 2023 5:54
I want to thank the staff that was working the night of Friday March 31. I called frantically as something unexpected happened to my cat.they told me to head right in and they took him right away. He was screaming in pain. Dr Zaeem was excellent. He kept me updated in a timely manner
We had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our fur baby. One of the staff, Ally (sorry if I misspelled), was absolutely amazing. I was a blubbering crying mess and she remained professional, compassionate and kind. We were given time with our cat as did not feel rushed at all. They gave us all the time we needed. I will never forget the kindness and compassion that was shown that night. As terrible of a time it was, I am grateful and so thankful the staff assisted us in any way they could.
Thank you all for everything you did for me and my family.
09 May 2023 0:22
This week we unexpectedly had to put to rest our forever loved furbaby. As difficult and unexpected as it was for myself to do it alone in the middle of the night, Dr. Sheppard made me feel so comforted and even layed with Harley and myself on the floor. Their amazing service will make me recommend them to anyone in need. Special thanks to Baily for the sweet pawprints in the mail?
19 April 2023 10:07
We brought our cat in because he wasn’t eating. Paid them $1600 for everything including some special food. They couldn’t definitively diagnose him. Took him to our regular vet today and they discovered a BLACK AND INFECTED TOOTH. That’s why he isn’t eating. Somehow this was missed? Like really? Wish we could get a refund because we didn’t need anything that this place did for us. I’m so beyond mad.
09 April 2023 7:35
I had to bring my fur-niece in after she shredded her doggy diaper and ingested pieces. I called once with no answer, started driving to the clinic any way and called again on the way. On my second call Ashley was kind and helpful. She asked a number of questions, checked with the doctor, and was able to provide me with options and the cost over the phone.

Upon arrival our doggo was weighed, I completed some intake forms and then waited for the doctor.

Dr. Claire Redman attended, she asked a number of questions to understand the situation and explained what they would do in order to induce vomiting and made sure to see if I had any questions.

They performed what they explained and were able to remove the piece that was ingested before it got any further.

Dr. Redman came back and had a follow up conversation to explain what they did and even apologized for the wait (they had an emergency that needed immediate attention which is completely understandable).

Overall I was very pleased with my experience and grateful that the staff here sacrifice a regular sleep and life schedule so they can be available at 3: 00 am.
29 March 2023 18:05
Worst service I have ever seen. If you want a vet who gives you the wrong information and over charges you for things you never needed and then when you decline 1 thing they make it up on other things. Absolutely disgusting that they take advantage of people because they are an emergency clinic. They talk you in to blood work and tell you to come back in 24-48 hrs to have the blood work re done and tell you there is no cost it’s free because you already paid for blood work but then when you call and try to schedule the time to go in to get the blood work re done they decide to tell you there is a charge of $180. Save your self the time and money and go to the Stoney creek emergency vet way better service and they actually only bill you for what you need.
22 March 2023 15:01
Super clean and organized place! From the front desk to the Technician the service was very thoughtful and effective. The Technician did the initial and very assertive assessment, resolving my dog’s issue. I really recommend this place.
21 March 2023 17:55
The clinic staff and vets here are top notch, and saved my dog Lily after she choked on a treat and had an esophageal obstruction. They acted quickly and efficiently and kept me up-to-date with each step. I am grateful that such a clinic exists, is available after-hours, and is close to home, otherwise things could have turned out much differently. They even called the next day to see how she was feeling and make sure she was doing OK. It's always scary when your pet has an emergency, but I am so grateful to the team here. Thanks again.
10 March 2023 12:13
We had to use this clinic on a Sunday morning because our regular vet was closed. We had a very pleasant experience with the vet & staff at this clinic. They were attentive, professional and knowledgeable. They took amazing care of our dog and sent us home with the meds he needed to get well. We even received a phone call the following day asking how he was doing, which was such a considerate and kind gesture. Thank you to everyone at Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic for taking good care of Simba:)
15 February 2023 9:28
The Niagara Emergency vet that says it's 24/7 told me tonight that they are not accepting new patients? Even tho my dogs have a vet clinic in dunnville? This is the Emergency Vet in Niagara? Who does this. I had to drive to downtown Hamilton. Thank God. The Vet IS 24/7 Emergency there.you guys don't understand who my Dad is.who my sister is.who my brother is.if my dog dies tonight. Hamilton Region Vet is doing exceptional work.hopefully my dog is okay tomorrow.she fell down a flight of stairs
06 February 2023 22:45
I can't thank this clinic enough, especially the vet tech Marilyn! I had to take my puppy in on Boxing day when she mysteriously fell ill very quickly. Marilyn took one look at her and immediately knew what was wrong, my puppy turned out to be fine but the clinic didn't even charge me for the consultation. Thank you aging!
01 February 2023 3:07
It was New Years long weekend. There was a problem with my cats prescription. I called Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic for help. The staff were very friendly and quick to resolve the problem. Greatly appreciated.
14 January 2023 2:54
Friendly enough staff, but outrageously over priced. They fleeced my 91 year old mother in law for checking out her cat and sent the animal home without really doing much of anything.
$1200.00 are you freaking kidding me. Never again!
10 January 2023 16:30
I wish another vet would step up Niagara, just had my second awful experience with this vet.

First was when they almost killed my dog while charging me min. $700/day to do so. He was in their care after surgery with my vet. After days of him declining they told me he needed exploratory surgery bc they “thought” he had fluid in abdomen (they had no ultrasound machine to confirm). I decided to take him to Guelph instead. There they found no fluid (they have an ultrasound) and gave him the dog equivalent of pepto and Zantac, I picked up my bouncing puppy the next day. There is so many more fails by them in this story, but that’s the gist.

The most recent was when I called bawling my eyes out bc my dog had bloat (my other dog) and was dying on my kitchen floor. They were full (fine, not in their control) I asked what do I do? And she said “well the doctor is performing a blood transfusion right now! ” So snarky. I wasn’t arguing, I was only looking for compassion and advice. My dog ended up being put down by them after I found a service who called around to find me a vet who could take her, which the Brantford clinic told me about (who also could not take her, euthanasia only even, but took time and cared). The service asked me questions and I told them it was euthanasia only. Had this clinic asked me questions of what I was looking for they could saved me and especially my dog so much agony. I decided long ago this dog would not be saved as at six years old she still ate everything in sight, it was only a matter of time. My dog barely made it to the clinic, as I am quite far from it. She was almost dead by the time they injected her. I’ll probably be blacklisted now but I would rather drive an extra half hour if it means better care.

I just want to say a big thank you to the lady that was working last night on the phones. My puppy had an allergic reaction and it was very scary. The lady was very helpful with her knowledge and her bedside manner. She was able to relate to me and the situation and calm me down and educate me on what to keep an eye on. Thank you so much. You are so appreciated.
28 December 2022 13:15
Not going to lie the first time I had to deal with them. I was very unhappy with the way things were handled. However on September 30/22 I had to take my cat to them for an emergency. Unfortunately the end result was that my cat had to be put down. They were very nice and helped alot with the whole ordeal. What has really changed my mind about them is today I received a card in the mail from them that has made me feel a bit better about it all. Them taking that time really changed the way I view them.
20 November 2022 7:57
Cliche… I would give zero stars if possible.
We lost our best friend this morning. He suffered mercilessly all night and this morning. We called 4 times spoke to 4 people on 2 shifts and could not get our pupp in to them. Too busy they said. He was struggling to breathe. We let them hear his breathing on the phone. All we wanted was someone to help ease his distress.
Finally they said bring him at 11am this morning but too late. He drew his last breath at 9 am.
Fortunately the west main vet clinic was open at 8 and our boy was able to get oxygen and a sedative for relief, but at that point his heart had taken too much.

First of all cat owners, dig up all your lilies if your cat goes outside. I found out the hard way that they are lethal and will shut down kitty's kidneys if even a tiny bit is ingested. Our cat ate a lily leaf, and that's how we ended up at the hospital. I found the staff caring, knowledgable, and incredibly kind. Yes, it was a wait but we watched animals in far worse distress than our cat go first WHICH IS WHAT YOU WANT a hospital to do. They called the next day to see how our cat was doing, offered alternative medications and offered to see her again without charging another exam fee. The people in the hospital are there for pets, there for owners and I am eternally grateful. The vet (Dr. Hulzebosch) went way above and beyond, helping us problem solve a chronic issue through a lengthy and informative conversation at 11: 30 at night. She didn't need to do that but took the extra time at the end of what must be a long day.
26 October 2022 21:07
We've use this emergency service a few times. The staff is amazing and they always gave our dog Patrick excellent care. When he collapsed in his old age they were very kind and efficient with diagnosing his condition. They were kind and respectful while we said goodbye to him. We are very grateful to have had this service available to us at exactly the moment we needed them.
07 October 2022 6:49
We are extremely grateful for the help of this emergency vet clinic who took care of our dog overnight when she needed an IV etc. The staff and the vet were very kind, professional and supportive, they even gave our senior bordercollie Morvo extra pillows to lay on.
04 October 2022 6:54
I had to make the really hard decision of putting down my rat Eddie since he was sick and getting old. The place I called before this one didn’t sound too nice and seemed confused as to why I had a pet rat, it really spiked my anxiety but when I called here they were very nice which made me feel like I could trust them. Everyone I dealt with was very sweet and showed they actually cared about Eddie which made it a lot easier to handle his passing. I’m glad I decided to take him here and I appreciate all the staff who helped with him today, it means a lot <3

Absolute deplorable service experienced with the individual named Giselle (i believe).
The rudeness, snarkiness, ignorance, and lack of compassion we experienced from her is entirely unacceptable and embarrassing for this establishment. When people call the emergency vet, it’s because they’re in distress and stressed over a situation happening with their beloved pet. Not once was the well being of the pet placed as a priority. Money was the main topic of conversation, in between petty and degrading comments. I am honestly absolutely appalled by the behaviour of this individual. She should not be working in an environment that requires ample amounts of compassion and basic customer service skills. Such a shame. On top of it an emergency vet clinic that has no emergency veterinarian on 24/7, and proceeds to make it our fault that we can’t make an almost hour drive in the middle of the night to find an actual clinic open with a vet.
If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I do not know how this place is still up and running. And it’s sad the owner only replies to happy comments, and ignores all of the terrible experiences people have faced in this place. An embarrassment to the veterinary name.
08 September 2022 7:24
I wanna thank you for saving my 3 week old French Bulldog Olga a few months ago. She had aspiration pneumonia and she was in and out of the clinic. She is a happy and healthy girl. I CAN NOT thank everyone enough for saving her! She’s part of our family pack and we can’t imagine life without her!
10 July 2022 15:57
Hands down probably the best vet I've ever been to you can call them and ask them for information or any concerns you have with your pop and they won't force you to come in and spend an outrageous amount of money if you don't need to. I've called 2 days in a row about information and they were more than happy to provide me with it with no charge over the phone. These people are quite amazing and I'm thankful that they're only 5 minutes away from me and able to see my dog when I need it. Olive thanks you guys
22 June 2022 3:51
I had called in panic due to a sudden medical emergency with my cat and I want to thank Mitchel for his kindness and ability to keep me calm prior to even arriving at the building
Once I got there every single person I spoke to was extremely kind and talked me through every step of my visit. I understand it can be frustrating not allowed in the building with your pets, but working in Healthcare the past 2 years I can see the risk the workers are at with the high exposure of frightened people constantly entering the building

Before any procedures were done I was walked through the rationale of what they wanted to do and the price. I was expecting a MUCH higher price due to the timing of the night and what had happened. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes there is a fee to enter the building and be admitted, but if that means this facility is available to me in times of sudden emergency, I will gladly pay it.
Once again thank you to every single person in that building last night
17 June 2022 1:24
We’ve been here 3 times in the last year and a half and every single time the staff and vet have been amazing. They are so kind and compassionate. The vets always take the time to talk to us, discuss what’s going on, and help make a medically informed decision. Cannot say how grateful we are for the entire team at NVEC. If any of the team sees this, thank you so much, you are all so appreciated!

A few nights back, Stella, my Boston Terrier was in distress. She was panting heavily and looking panicked. We called four different emergency vets in Burlington, Hamilton, Oakville, and Brantford, and none of them could take her. We called Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic, and although they were quite busy and short staffed, they told us to bring her in. They took her in immediately and stayed in contact by phone the entire time so we knew what was going on. They performed X-rays and explained what they could see and what they suspect might be an issue with her. We made plans to bring her back for an ultrasound a couple of days later, which unfortunately revealed some very sad news. They sent the images to our regular vet so we can go over them and decide on a course of action.
Moments ago I received a call from NVEC asking how she was doing. I must say this clinic truly, truly cares about the animals put in their care. It means so much to a pet owner to have empathetic professionals caring for their furry family members.
If we lived closer, this would be our regular vet clinic, but it is certainly nice to know that they are there in case of emergencies. Although the news was bad, it's nice to have the information so we can monitor her and decide how to proceed.
Thank you so much NVEC for your caring and compassion!

Just wanted to Thank all the staff for your support, compassion you gave to us and our cat Happy in the final stage of his life. Ann, Jack

On Wednesday March 16 2022 my dog Titan was having a hard time walking and throwing up white foam and just wanted to lay outside and not move. I called the vet and she said we are concerned about bloating. So they said bring him in right away so I did when I arrived they took Titan in right away and did exrays and he had a twisted stomach. They called me outside and were already getting Titan ready for surgery. Titan would not be with me right now. I am so blessed to have this vet available. I give thanks to these vets who are also on the front line. I want to thank you for the amazing service and care you gave Titan. This vet did an excellent job. Good work. Titan thanks you.

The Niagara Emergency Vet Clinic was fantastic with us today. Our 6 year old German Shepherd got into the kitchen compost, which (unfortunately) isn't anything new. The next day she began vomiting and was extremely lethargic. I called this clinic and they advised me if her lethargy becomes paired with another symptom (continued vomiting, diarrhea, panting etc) to then bring her in, but as of right now it just sounds like she has an upset tummy. 5 hours later, we're awoken to vomiting and diarrhea so we took her right in. As this clinic operates just like a human ER and sees patients based on severity, we did have to wait quite a while to get her in and have her seen (3 hours before we spoke to a vet) but once she was seen things moved quickly. The vet was very kind, very personable, and great to deal with. He explained that another medication she was on at the time weakened her stomach which is why she was having such a negative reaction to this round of compost eating. He gave her some anti nausea injections, sent her home with antibiotics as well as some food for her to use the next two weeks. You are expected to pay up front for the estimated cost of the services - for us that was $700 - however after it was all said and done we actually received a refund of $60. Everyone from the ladies answering the phones, to the women who took our dog in/brought our dog out, to the vet was just fantastic. If I ever need emergency services again (and I hope I don't!) I will not hesitate to return to this clinic.
13 October 2021 5:41
Brought my baby girl in today very lethargic and breathing heavily, they were the sweetest people I could have encountered on this day got her in right away (I did call ahead of time) Unfortunately the findings were not good and I ended up losing my baby, but through the whole process they were very sympathetic and very kind and they explained everything in a way that I understood and gave me the time I needed for my decisions and with everything they were doing. They explained all the costs upfront and were very honest with me. They made my horrendous day the most bearable that it could be under the circumstances. Highly recommend and will be going to them with any future animal concerns.
13 October 2021 5:05
I wish I could remember the name of the most LOVELY individual I just spoke with over the phone. 1 AM, 10 week old puppy. She listened as this scared mama told her what was happening, she reassured me, calmed me down and walked me through all the steps I’d need to know. Thank you for being kindness and patience!
07 October 2021 11:42
I had to bring my cat to the emergency vet after he had his leg removed (due to cancer) because there were issues and my regular vet was closed. I was in FULL panic mode and they were awesome! They called me a few times a day (even at night!) to give me updates and to let me know what was needed to help him. They let me also visit which I think they don't normally do but as I said I was sick with worry. I didn't want my cat thinking I abandoned him. He went in there looking horrible and came out a new cat! I know they did everything they could for him and I will be forever grateful for all they did and how compassionate they were. I will never hesitate to go there again. Update: Dr. Adel was the vet on staff. This was many years ago. I only made the review recently.
14 August 2021 6:23
These angels were there for my family in our time of need, and there aren't words to express our gratitude. Our Millhouse was at the end of his battle with chronic kidney disease, and his regular vet was on vacation. Dr. Price and staff stepped right in to see that Millhouse was comfortable and cared for, right to the end. The procedure was done outside, he was in a comfy bed and we sat with him at a picnic table, so much nicer than a sterile exam room. Thank you so much for making such a difficult day tolerable. People complain that this hospital is expensive, but the bill was half of what I paid for the same service 10 years ago when I brought a dying cat to an alternate vet as my regular one was out of town. It was only slightly more than my regular vet would have charged me. But all in all, what they did for us and Millhouse was invaluable.
06 August 2021 15:10
While we decided it was best to say goodbye to our beloved 13-year-old dog Bella this morning, I can't thank all the staff enough. They were incredibly kind and understanding and never once pressured us to make a decision right then and there. From phoning the clinic very early this morning, to me explaining my dog's symptoms and my reservations about her age and the probable cost of treatment, the staff respected our decisions throughout the entire way and made the initial grieving process easier to accept. Thank you again to everyone there this morning and for all of your advice and sympathies.
02 August 2021 21:26
Brought our pup in yesterday after he got a severe bite from another dog, lots of blood loss. The team took him got him stable and came out to give us an update, never felt like we were out of the loop. He is home and on the mend.

Thanks again for All you guys do.
27 July 2021 4:19
We had to have our beloved 13 yr old Maltipoo euthanized over Victoria Day weekend due to advanced congestive heart failure. The staff were exceptional - from the kind receptionist (male - sorry I have forgotten his name) who took my initial phone call, explained everything to me and met us at the front door of the clinic; the vet tech and Dr. Lawton - all were very professional and went above & beyond the call of duty. My husband and I were able to be with Oliver outside under a tent in a lovely treed area. While it was certainly a very sad time, we were comforted by the fact that everyone was so kind and caring. Would highly recommend this emergency vet clinic.
19 July 2021 19:12
Was given false information over the phone with the office administrator which ended up being a fatal outcome. Was not advised to bring my dog in for a checkup, already being a large dostile breed Bulldog. Only suggested if he became lethargic to bring him in to be seen by a Vet on staff. Office staff should not be advising on pet care when their not a Veterinarian. I'll never call their for advise in what to do again. And they will never get a penny from me ever again. Please people do not trust the person taking the call to manage your pet care. They will steer you wrong with bad advise.
13 July 2021 21:22
Even though is was a little on the pricy side, the service was awesome, and the problem with my little dog looked after quickly. Dr Arnold was personable and very easy to communicate with, came out to my car and gave me the necessary meds and info personally. I was unable to accompany my dog inside because of Covid, but the service was excellent and efficient. Thank you so much!
01 July 2021 14:08
Have unfortunately had to come here a few times for our dog but yesterday was one of the best experiences we have had. Dr. Arnold and the vet techs were very kind and understanding. Dr. Arnold presented us with a couple options so we could decide the best course of action for our dog. It was nice that he came outside himself to speak with us directly rather than talking to us over the phone. You can tell the staff and Dr. Arnold are truly passionate about animals and even though our dog can be uncomfortable being handled by strangers, they made us feel like he was very good for them. And our dog came out from the office as happy as ever so we know they treated him well. He actually prefers this place to our regular vet!

Had to take my cat in because of a urinary blockage and they were able to take him in right away. The whole process during COVID is really well thought out. Unfortunately he had to stay a bit longer there because of multiple bladder stones but everyone at the clinic made sure to keep me updated every step of the way and to let me know how he was doing. My cat was there for a week so I feel like I talked to every doctor and staff member at the clinic and you can tell that they all deeply care about the animals. They completed surgery to get the stones out and now my cat is on the road to recovery. I was given all of the medication he needs and instructions and I'm just so happy that everyone here chipped in to save his life. They also made sure to check in to see how my cat was doing. I hope I never have to take any pet to the emergency vet again but I'm so thankful that this clinic exists and for the top-notch care that my cat received. The doctors here care about animals and it shows!

This is truly a great clinic. Our cat Riff had been sick for a while, and in addition to routine visits at our regular vet, we had to bring him here a few times. Both of the vets were very knowledgeable and helpful. We unfortunately had to make the tough decision to put our boy Riff to sleep a few mornings ago at their clinic because he was suffering so much, and we were able to say goodbye to him in a designated area outside so we could be with him while he passed. The vet and staff were so so kind and compassionate, and although we hope that we never have to take one of our pets to emerg again, we would not hesitate to come back here. Thank you for all the help and support. <3

We adopted a 14 year old Persian cat named Ruby. She has a few issues in her old age. We just moved to St. Catharines right before the pandemic hit and she's needed care a couple of times. Once was an incident where she couldn't stop vomiting. We're still not sure what caused it, but since treatment, she's been fine. The most recent time we tried to groom her mats out because the groomers are all closed, and her skin is just so thin that we nicked it with the clippers. We wanted to make sure the wound didn't get infected. The vet cleaned it out and glued it shut. They were so quick and good with her (she meows non stop whenever she's away from home, and although sweet as a button, she'll let you know how she's feeling). The assistants helped us get in touch with a vet that can take Ruby for professional grooming and teeth cleaning. They were just so good about everything. She's completely healed now. Not even a tiny wound left. Yes, it's expensive, but it's emergency care and we knew the costs would be much higher than a regular vet. Thank you for taking good care of her. She's struggling a bit in her old age and when she got home she immediately went to playing! We had to slow her down. She felt good as new thanks to your care.

This place is probably the worst Emergency Vet I've ever been to. This emerge gave us the run around for 3 days, prescribed unnecessary medications before finally informing us they weren't equip to perform the surgery our dog needed which we knew he needed from the first day we brought him in. $600 later and finding out they knew our dog needed an anesthesiologist since DAY 1 of us bringing him in and never told us. Our dog passed away 3 days later because by the time we got him to a specialist it was too late.

Overall I will never bring my dog or cats here ever again and instead ill drive an hour away to visit the Hamilton Emerge. Worth the peace of mind.

Just some advice to this clinic, our dog had a lot of medical problems and if you guys had treated him with respect and compassion we would of been clients of yours for life since we have 3 cats and a new puppy. Instead you guys made a quick 600$ and we will never bring another animal here again.

My Fred was hit by a car last Thursday.and upon arrival they helped him right away. They were so kind.and gave me all the details upfront. Fred succumbed to his injuries.we had to let him go. The whole staff was so supportive and sweet.it was an awful personal loss.but I’m grateful for those that tried to save him.

I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone that needs help for their pet. My dog was very sick and I was so worried about her. The vets and staff took excellent care of my frightened little dog. They also contact
me regularly and kept me up to date about her care, even though she ended up staying two nights. I felt safe leaving her there knowing the staff were caring and professional. I really appreciated all that they did for my dog.
