Service was amazing, everyone was really friendly and the sushi was high quality. I would highly recommend this place for anyone searching for a reputable sushi location in the Markham area!:)

This place looks unassuming outside, but the sushi was incredible. Best I’ve had in a very long time. Basic rolls had a generous amount of fish, specialty rolls were amazing (get the fire attack and be surprised!). Their torched sushi was also superb.

Food was great. The fish was good but a little small which made for less satisfying bites. We ordered two bentos and a fish bowl which was on the chalk board. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean. Tempura was sooo crispy and flaky, was great with the spicy sauce. The only thing I would say are too many veggies but that’s just my family. Miso soup was great and it hot the spot. The thing that made me give this 5 stars though was the service, the staff were super friendly and would check up on us every so often. Even when we left the store, I left something inside and the waitress came out to give it back to me. 10/10 would come back again

Yes! This is a hidden gem. The food is excellent: the fish is fresh and delicious, portions generous and very nicely presented. We had 2 sashimi bento boxes, one chicken teriyaki bento and a sushi lunch for around $20/head, probably 50% cheaper and 50% better than most downtown sushi places. Warmly recommend. Additional 5 stars for 'best bang for the buck' category.

I’ve been here quite a few times. The latest time, I only got sashimi a la carte. The presentation was great, and the salmon and tuna I got were really high quality. This is truly one of the best sushi places in Ontario.

Ordered the Hawaii roll and tempura lunch bento. Good food but place is kinda small. Staff is friendly.

Dinner bentos are usually larger.

Nice little sushi place tucked in just across from Pacific Mall. Clean environment, polite staff and fresh sushi.

Ordered a few special rolls and they were quite large in size at a decent price. Their menu selection is quite large and would have something for everyone.

Would come back again as it is the best in the area.

Went for lunch. It was a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were very kind. The food was delicious and presented well. Also, the price was reasonable. Enjoy!

Gave 3 stars for food as the shrimp tempura had a sandy bite in it. To describe it better, it was like eating sand with every bite.

A small real Japanese restaurant. Not too much variety but surrounding with Japanese music, Japanese waiter and waitress, gentle and polite. Food are fresh, deep fry are crispy. Forgot to take the softshell crab pictures. It was lovely last night. Additional points this week about the 2 flower trees are blooming outside. Ignore the gas station it has more Japanese feel, Lovely dinner last night, Will definitely go again

This place has some really good sushi. Great thing is comes with miso soup and a salad with rolls! I love the salad dressing and would buy a tub of it (citrus ginger flavour). Ordered take-out a couple times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rice tasted fresh and light, fish also fresh. Would recommend giving it a try if you are host any. Price is great too

Tonight my father and I wanted to try out something different for dinner, so we went over to Nichiban Sushi 4 U! I was absolutely impressed by this place because it had some really good options on their menu. I ordered their Salmon Bento Box which was delicious! The waitress was kind and the food came out really quick which was great. We hope to come back here again someday with my Mom being present because she likes this kind of food too!

We had a very nice lunch here with their lunch specials. The fish is quite fresh and their specialty rolls are delicious.

The fish is pretty fresh and tasty here. Seating is a bit limited where youre sitting pretty close to other people and can hear their convos, and area looks kind of sketchy when driving in. Id come back for the food though.

Nice little sushi place tucked away. The service in store was excellent - servers were nice and helpful. Got a Bulgogi and Kalbi bento box, very generous portions and tasty. Also got a spicy salmon roll which was standard but delicious regardless. Would come back!

The food here was absolutely amazing like actually really good compared to other restaurants and the staff were really nice the waiter and the girl who helped around and if you were to come here I would recommend the angry chicken, fried chicken and rice, and lobster sushi those were my favourites and definitely bring your family with you here it makes the experience funnier

Chicken karrage was okay. The batter wasn’t correct, but it was tasty. The salmon was fishy. The rice was also overcooked and packed too dense. I asked for napkins but they forgot to include them. I did like that the sushi was the proper size, which is one bite and not too big. Too many places now provide massive sushi that can’t be eaten in one bite.

One of my favourite sushi places in Scarborough! The quality of everything we tried was super high, you can tell it was fresh and prepared with a lot of love. The service, the ambience and even the decor of the restaurant was so homey and comfortable. I would say to definitely dine in for the first time, if want to get the full experience. Their sushi is definitely to die for!

This restaurant is in my neighbourhood. I’ve dined in many times before COVID, but have only ordered take out since. Amazing food, great party trays. Staff is wonderful.

Nichiban is a hidden gem. I came here once a few months ago and have returned many times since then. The sushi is always extremely fresh and tastes amazing. I usually get the shrimp tempura rolls and the yam rolls, both are delicious. I've also tried some of the chef's specials, everything was delicious. The prices are also very reasonable.

Aside from the amazing food, the customer service here is impeccable. No matter how busy they are, the waiters are always friendly, attentive and will go above and beyond to make sure your experience is a great one. I remember coming here once on a Saturday night when the place was very busy, the food took longer than usual, the manager brought us Springrolls on the house as an apology. They value their customers very much, I've had John as a server a few times and he's amazing.

This place has amazing food, great prices and amazing service, making it my go to sushi place. Definitely worth checking out, if you haven't already!

Everything they offer is great but my new favorite is the Lobster roll! It was incredibly delicious!

Its been awhile since we ate out and going to Nichiban for our 1st dine in was the best choice. Food was serve hot and fresh. Jeon our server welcome us and made us feel at home. Highly recommended!

Situated between a gas station and a mechanics garage, this hidden gem has been one of the most longstanding Sushi establishments in all of the GTA. Defying expectations, this little joint has always has maintained a high standard of quality at reasonable prices throughout the years and the ratings show. The fact it's been in business, unchanged in this dingy location for decades is a testament to what you're getting. My family has been getting their signature variety platters ever since I was a young teen and those who know, know.

If you're looking rolls, this place is the best within a 5km radius; for platters, there is no place that can compare.

I bought the Medium sushimi+sushi party platter and small salmon lover.

Overall experience 5/5, all the salmon were amazing best I have had over 10 years. (In Toronto) unfortunately the sushimi was disappointed the gold flakes on the red tuna was an amazing sight to see.but the red tuna and yellow tail sushimi were.disappointing unfortunately had tendons in them.

But the mackeral and red tuna sushimi were 5/5. The red tuna and yellow tail sushi were 5/5 as well! Just the sushimi which were the stars were unfortunately the stain to a perfect birthday/valentine's day celebration.

Expensive sushimi were disappointing but sushi versions 5/5

The maki rolls, salmon, white tuna, and mackerel were 5/5.

Will buy the sushi/Maki roll platter + salmon lover platter next time for the 5/5 experience no questions asked!

A go to for sushi! Quality, service, and selection are the best. Fresh and unique sushi combos with great choices for hot dishes. Might be the best takoyaki I’ve ever had!

Tried a couple specialty rolls, all of which were good. Was pleasantly surprised to hear the chefs speak Japanese here, unlike other places that will have rolls that are 60% rice and everything is drowned in Sriracha mayo. None of that nonsense here. And adorably friendly service on top of it. Will definitely return when in the neighbourhood.

Food is excellent, the staff are friendly and kind. This is place you keep coming back to after you’ve tried it.

Wow. I must say this place is amazing. Never seen sashimi look so fresh. Hands down the best sushi spot I've been to.

We mostly had sushi rolls; they were all amazing! I couldn't complain about anything. Since we asked which ones are spicy since we liked spicy the server helped us choose. We also asked whether they have anything special for birthdays because someone's birthday is coming up soon, and he asked the manager and they made us a special sushi cake, which was such a surprise. They even made sure it was spicy. It was amazing! They really take care of the customer and their attention to detail is in another level. The server himself (tall guy with glasses) took his time with explaining and taking orders, he was very polite.

Small restaurant but definitely a hidden gem! The service is amazing, but the limited parking is definitely the worst. I ordered takeout and I was asked to wait outside for them to bring it to the car. They have excellent service! Would recommend!

I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box for dinner, it was amazing.

Some of the freshest sushi I've ever had. I typically order takeout here and while the prices are higher than other sushi locations, the quality can't be beat. Service is outstanding and goes above and beyond to ensure your dietary requirements are considered. I love their torched rolls

Great value for the dollar with terrific service! The food is amazing and as a cherry on top, I found on their instagram that they host (ed?) food donations during the pandemic. I'm happy to support them through my patronage while enjoying their great meals!

I have been going here quite a few times and the sushi is very good and it is much better than the other places I tried. Everyone who works here is super nice. I strongly recommend it!

Been going to Nichiban for a few years now. It is my family's go to place when we want to eat out. It has always had great service and delicious food.
I don't usually write reviews, but what drove me to write this one is my latest experience. I had ordered take-out via SkipTheDishes, but when I got to the door to pick up the order, it turned out that I didn't complete the ordering on my phone's app. That said, Nichiban was very nice about it. They took my letter on the spot and rushed my order in less than 15 minutes. They even brought it out to my car (where I was waiting).
Excellent service and super friendly. Highly recommend.

Spent my birthday there again and the food was amazing as usual. Sushi, rolls and tempura were super delicious. Definitely my favourite Japanese restaurant in the GTA. Recently tried the Snow Valley roll, my whole family loved it. The chef was so friendly to us. Service was the same. Worth trying it out for first timers. Will definitely come back whenever I can.

We stumble upon this place and thought we check it out since we were craving sushi.
Looking from the outside we didn't think too much of it, but the inside is nicely furnished and it has a nice cozy feeling to it.
The staff greeted us the moment we got in and felt very welcoming.

We got a few roll (green /black dragon roll and another one) with the takoyaki balls. Everything was delicious, the rice had the right amount of vinegar and the fish tasted fresh.
The candy they give it at the end of the meal was a nice touch to it. It wasn't your standard run of the mill mint candy. It was this soft gummy like candy. It was so tasty I asked for a few more in the way out!

Overall experience was fantastic and the price was fair for à la carte sushi place. Will definitely come again

The only downside is the very small amount of parking. Since there's not many seats this may not be a big issue.

Came with my family on a cold Saturday around 8: 30pm it wasn’t that busy. Once we walked in we were greeted by all staff, and made the environment welcoming. I chose to eat here because of the good reviews and sure this place DID NOT DISAPPOINT:) will definitely come back

One of the best authentic Japanese sushi places in Scarborough! This hidden gem is a great find. The staff are all friendly and extremely attentive. The food is fresh and delicious. The decor is very nice and the bathrooms are very clean. Parking can be an issue as it is a very small lot. Will definitely return for sure. Perfect experience!

The B sushi lunch special is great value for a lot of tasty sushi. Good selection of fish with a touch of wasabi between the fish and rice. The service was very good with food coming out pretty quickly. They also have a good selection of rolls, but they are a little bit on the pricey side. Overall this was great place with good staff and tasty sushi!

It was a very yummy visit! I visited this cozy little restaurant a couple of days ago and the quality of the sushi at this place has been amazing! It's even better than some of the other Japanese restaurants in the area. I will be back real soon. I'm going to this restaurant the next time I wanna eat some sushi. You know. Visited Sushi 4 U with my family yesterday. We had the privilege of getting a big sample of a new menu item. I believe it was called "angry calamari". Delicious! Perfect level of spice, not overcooked, served with crispy vermicelli. The sushi and rolls that we ordered were excellent, thick cut and fresh. The service was super friendly - we even had a nice little chat with the chef at the end of our meal. This is my go-to sushi restaurant! 5 stars

Overall, this small sushi restaurant is great! The fish they use is quite fresh and their prices are great. A bento at dinner is around $12 (depending on what you get) and comes with enough food to fill you right up! The food itself is quite good.

Atmosphere of the restaurant could be better, as it can get quite noisy in the tight space but overall it's a good place to go with your family. Just watch out for the limited seating (probably fits about 20 or so) and especially for the limited parking.

For us Nichiban become the best Sushi spot in SCARBOROUGH. Warmly welcome nature and nice ambiance. Fair price with good portions. Frankly and attentive servers. Definitely we would like to visit again & highly recommend this location.

Called sunday April 28, at 9: 15pm to place an order for pick up and wanted to know what items they have on menu. Male said "Sorry don't have time to explain it to you, call back when you know what you want". Worse customer service.

It was wonderful experience! I visited here with my sons! I appreciate their thoughtful service for my kids and great food! I’m so happy to move to this area and find this restaurant.

ONE OF THE BEST SUSHI PLACE absolutely no need to go to Japan after this place. Great service from kpop idol like server, with great smile. Tempura, soft shell crab, and sashimi is on point. Best part is the price for the food you get. Large portions for rolls and a full stomach out of a Japanese restaurant without emptying your bank account. Recommend trying the flamehouse and TnT roll.
