Ninki Sushi and Sake Lounge

Definitely avoid, the service was horrible - the waiter literally snatched our menus away at the end of the order. Used our table to hold food for other patrons. The food itself was sub par. Not sure if just unlucky or the place is best avoided.

One of the worst Japanese restaurants I've been to. Ive past by this place a million times in the Path and finally decided to give it a shot. It was empty for a weekday dinner time service. I ordered a beef don with overcooked beef, undercooked onions, tasteless sauce and way too much rice. No proper seasoning or garnish that I lost my appetite half way through the meal. My sister ordered a spicy salmon & avocado don that tasted off and didn't come spicy. I would not recommend this place unless you were extremely in a rush but even then….

I thought I got COVID while eating since the only thing I taste is salt. But waitress is friendly

Easily the worst Japanese food I have ever eat. Noodle was terrible, egg was fully cook. I’m speechless.

A bit pricy. I could have ordered their all you can eat for & 35 + tax because I ended up paying less than & 50. Ordered a soup, and 2 orders of shrimp tempura

Easily the worst most uninspired sushi I have had anyway downtown Toronto. Check all my other reviews of Asian and Japanese restaurants. This is cheap, Chinese style TERRIBLE sushi. This place is pathetic. People are pretty nice and wait staff was great. Food? 0/5. $14 for a “spider roll”? !? ! Are you kidding? ! LOL. It’s laughable. Except even fast food takeout sushi from metro or longos is far better.
EVEN THE WASABI had no flavour. Lol. It’s likely mixed with mashed plain peas or something.
I didn’t try any of the bento boxes but from what I saw of the 6 tables around me, all of the meals looks super basic. Cheap portions. No fish. NO roe. Terrible.

Petrifying food. Small portions. Poor quality and not worth the prices. To be avoided at all costs. This is not an authentic sushi restaurant. Don't waste your time here! NEXT!

I had my lunch there on a weekday. It was quite noisy and there was not any washroom for customers.
A waitress and 2 other customers had to wait for me to sit down in order to pass between 2 tables to walk to another section of the restaurant.
The green tea which I ordered was tasteless because the tea bag was small and the teapot was big.
There were pieces of rice here and there on the table because the plate which holds the appetizer, six pieces of maki sushi, was so small that parts of the sushi pieces were not supported by the plate.
I chose beef for the bento B but the beef was ground beef!

It's supposed to be a Japanese resto. My friend conversed in Japanese to a Japanese-looking server and they did not understand each other. Funny. Price is quite expensive. I should have opted for an eat-all-you-can worth $35 instead of a couple of order of shrimp tempura and clam soup and ended up paying $40. Servers are not welcoming. Need more customer service orientation. Food were ordinary Japanese food that can be enjoyed in a lesser price in other restaurants. Not keen on coming back. There are other options.

I was turned away by the manager or owner despite arriving 1 hour before closing. There was no one there and they seemed more interested to go home. Avoid.

Worst food ever. The wonton soup tasted like kitchen sink water. Im so mad that we spent $ 100 just to get sick

I have been going to this place periodically since they opened in 2003. The food has been average which I did not mind relative to the price it charges. Service has been adequate. In the winter, I tend to order the warm beef udon noodles. However, I have never seen so much oil floating in the udon soup from the beef. It did not taste well. This is supposed to be a simple dish and the recipe is not working.

Easily the WORST Ramen experience I've ever had. The provided spoon was too small to hold a lump of sugar and no plastic takeout bowl was included. The broth tasted watery and unappetizing. The pork belly was raw and unchewable (see picture so you know I'm not sandbagging).

Avoid this place like the plague.

Nice waiters, poor sushi. Especially bad because you should know people are getting a better idea of what good sushi should taste like.

For all you can eat the price has gone up but the menu has less offers.the price includes a drink but for those who doesnt drink alcohol is not worth it.the service was below our expectations; very slow and many dishes arrived after we inquired a few times.

Good place for team lunches. You can be as loud as you want to be as everyone around you is loud already. Ask them to repeat your order.

Cost was pretty high, food is mediocre, but I guess that's what you expect in downtown Toronto. Ramen did not look good either. Would not recommend the Ice cream - it cost as much as Tsujiri but definitely no where close in terms of taste. Would I go back? Probably not unless I have to.

For a place in TO this place was sadly bad. Service for a medium size party was slow and the food quality seemed sloppy with cheap ingredients. Had better sushi elsewhere

Expanded menu on soft serves! This is the only place in the financial core where you can get black sesame and matcha soft serves, and most importantly, shiratama! Please add houjicha soft serve

Disappointed with service, ordered ice cream, didn't serve mine and charged me, when we mentioned that, didn't even apologize.

The food is not authentic but rather bland and boring. The service is okay but the male manager is pretty curt at times

Went for quick lunch. I had chicken katsu don with some cold sake. The service was quick and friendly. The food was fresh and tasty. I would go again.

I enjoyed the ambience with colleagues. I had the original pork ramen and we shared grilled hamachi. Great experience.

Only reason they're in business is because they are in the PATH and have seating. For $30+ sushi moriawase you get imitation crab as one of the nigiri selection.enough said.

Food is good, servers not so much.serious lack of language skills (not good when you’re in the Financial District - one of the busiest places down town Toronto), MY GOD it is soooooooooooooo LOUD in here you won’t be able to hear the person in front of you! The girl at the table to my left was SCREAMING instead of talking!
Do not go in, maybe get take out.overall ok but would not go back.

I chose this restaurant for team lunch because the menu says I can inform them about any food allergies, but when I actually visited and asked them they just.refused to consider it: (
I don't want to make things complicated for them either but what can I do when I actually do have allergies? Tried my best to choose a safe-looking menu.
Why write the note in the first place though? Please remove it.

It's ok. Service was fast though they understand concept of lunch hour but the sushi was shabbily made, Bento was okay. Grilled salmon wasn't too bad but tempura was greasy

Compare to another sushi resturant that i went in downtown this one has a low quality food the hand rolls was not good at all, and the makis was not very special! We just enjoy our yuzu lemonade.

Convenient location in the PATH but food is more westernized than authentic Japanese. They are good knowing their PATH customers by having a pick up/take out counter and a reservation/non reservation line at lunch. The restaurant also has a nice setting with indoor and "outdoor" seating. Chirashidon was okay. Katsudon was salty. Pass on the ramen.

Busy lunch spot, but the service was quick and friendly, and food was good! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because they didn't have any lunch combos.

Convenient location in PATH which takes reservations is about all this restaurant is good for. Service is rude and curt. They would not take our order until the entire party was seated and kept asking us if we had more people coming even though we confirmed this over and over because they wanted our extra table since they had a line. The waiter was impatient when he was taking our order and made me personally feel like they wanted us to get in get out. I understand that they are in a prime location, but it doesn't excuse this behaviour.

The food was honestly mediocre. I got the garlic ramen and it was too salty, pork was not tender, couldn't really taste the garlic, and the egg was too well done. They did warn us in advance that they do not split bills, but was quite rude in reminding us when one of our group members had to leave and tried to pay her share by cash. Instead of explaining the situation, the cashier just repeatedly told her no. I would not come back here.

The food's pretty good, the service is hit or miss, the place is super noisy, the tables are way too close together, and the quality of the food is inconsistent. Sometimes the food is great, other times noodles are mushy or sloppy-looking.
