Went to the ER on Tuesday November 10 to have X-ray done after I had tripped and fell. The doctor who took seconds to read my X-ray said nothing is broken just keep moving it around. Went home the pain was unbearable didn’t sleep at all. Next day went to a different hospital and they took a X-ray and said I would need a cast. I had a displaced fracture. 4 days later I get a call from Norfolk Hospital saying they were reviewing my X-rays and that I had a displaced fracture. Wow seriously! What kind of doctors are they hiring. I am just wondering why after 4 days they are reviewing my X-rays. Did someone report this doctor or what?

Left hand hasn't got a clue what right hand is doing. Unless you want to get worse don't go there.

Can't speak to other services but all the staff in Labour & Delivery and the OR are the loveliest and most professional you could possibly hope for

Wait time for the patience must get reduced as soon as possible and there is only 2 doctors in a shift for the emergency is something not acceptable. The Management or who so ever is responsible must change this system. Anyone please tell
me the meaning of EMERGENCY.

Trip to the ER on a Saturday morning was a positive experience due mostly to Nurse Janice and ER doctor Dr. Davison. My partner was seen immediately after triage, hooked up to an IV within 30 minutes, and the pain from his kidney stone was under control fifteen minutes later. Constant care from both the nurse and doctor made us feel we were in excellent hands as both shared their expertise throughout the 7 hour stay. The friendly tone from all employees in the ER was very welcoming.

My life as I knew it came to a screeching halt on Monday, July 20th, 2022 as it was discovered that I had a Malignant Tumor in my colon and I had never been to Norfolk General for anything. My experience in the Emergency department wasn't the greatest however there was only one doctor on duty and I waited for 7.5 hours writhing in absolute excruciating pain. Finally, it was my turn, the doctor pushed on my stomach, said that he didn't like where the pain was, sent me for an ultrasound that revealed cancer! The surgeon was called, the facts delivered, notified my family, colonoscopy scheduled, surgery scheduled for Wednesday, July 20th. I'll be forever grateful for Dr. Laurie Fasola, the care of all of the nursing staff on the 3rd floor, the cooks and cleaning staff! My aftercare has been exemplary by Dr. AL-Kassam and his fabulous assistant Brooke. I'm alive and well thanks to these amazing people at Norfolk General Hospital Nya weh, thank you to the Creator for an extension on my life. Lori Harris, Six Nations

People were very nice bit when you are the only one in the waiting room and it still takes three hours to be seen by a doctor is ridiculous

Can’t say enough about their failings. The ER staff, including doctors, nurses, receptionists, etc, just treat patients and family of patients like they’re a nuisance and a pest. They treat human beings in pain like they are faking it to get pain medication, as if they are addicts who will wait hours in an ER waiting room to get one T-3.
Unless it’s a matter of life and death l will not take a loved one there or go there myself ever again, l ‘d rather drive an hour farther away than have insult added to injury.

First time visit to the Emergency Dept for me. The staff and volunteers were personable and helpful. I was examined by a student Dr who was very thorough.
My only complaint and concern was the emergency physician was providing diagnosis and treatment information in front of everyone who was sitting in “blue chair “ area of emergency. I had to ask if we could go somewhere private as I did not want the whole room to know my business. I appreciate that they are busy and their is a staff shortage. Perhaps
a review of their PHIPPA protocol and revise it for that area of the hospital.

You think being the only person in emerge would get you seen at a decent time. Guess again. Nearly three hours later not a single other person has even came through the doors and I’m still waiting to be seen. The faculty can’t even give you a reason why you have to wait for 3 hours while absolutely no one goes in or out. Their missions about reliving illness and suffering should be changed to inflicting it. Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. It’s never gotten better in the 14 years I’ve lived in Norfolk county. Embarrassing really

Wait time INSANE, nurses talk badly about patients, and you can hear doctors arguing! They only got to about 2 patients in 4-5 HOURS.edit: apparently doctors may have been making TIKTOK VIDEOS in the OR (basically, a surgery room)

The only facility I have been in that only posts the pics of CT/Xray and not the report. I pay rediculus sums for a the pocket health app to get the report and ridiculous amount of taxes to pay for this type of non service. Someones ego needs to be checked at the door.

4 hour wait with a 3 year old with a crush wound and still not a single doctor or nurse has looked at it. I should have driven to another hospital.

I'd like to thank Deanna, Rebecca, Julia and Vanessa for their care today. Although I was a little cranky with pain, they still seemed kind and compassionate. Probably the best IV insertion and removal I've ever had (and I've had a few). The ER was pretty busy so I understood their time was stretched. I didn't give 5 stars because I did feel that I waited a little longer than reasonable for a blanket, held onto a bag full of vomit for longer than I was comfortable and had to ask several different health professionals for ice chips and earplugs. Although being pumped up on pain killers, nobody asked if I was ok getting up to go to the bathroom. I was fine but someone else may not have been.

My husband was told to go to ER by our after hours clinic for assistance with pneumonia. We may have lucked out with timing, since we were there for under 2 hours. Which was great. He had exceptional care from triage, registration, nurses and Dr. Pearce. Thank you all at NGH.

Waited over 4 hours in hard plastic seats with a 85 year old father who was in pain. We left after 4 hours due to how uncomfortable it was. The system is broken

Went to ER with terrible stomach pains. The doctors gave me Ultrasound and a CT scan and found my Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I have nothing bad to say about them. They diagnosed me correctly. Thank you!

We had a great experience with this hospital we just moved here from Oakville in May and my husband recently had a really bad pain in his ear did spend a pretty long day in emergency which is not usual for any hospital nowadays, but later that night the doctor actually sent an ambulance to our home because his blood pressure had come back really high he called and text my husband and brought him back in which is so unheard of in a big city and I'd like to take them a second and thank that doctor and the staff on floor, the ambulance drivers, and even the police involved. I rate this hospital at five star for caring!

My friend and I were in a car accident where the car flipped both with neck injuries and myself with a head injury. Taken to hospital by ambulance at 530. By 9 I asked for ice for my friend. Two hours later I asked again very politely and had the nurse had roll her eyes at me. No one had seen or come check on any of us in stretchers in other rooms for 6 hours, no water, offering us blankets. Very scary to see nurses who did not care or have human empathy. I had worked in customer service for 13 years getting paid nearly minimum wage and would not have treated a customer like that. Why is it okay for people in pain who just experienced life changing events and trauma to be treated like that. I understand burnout happens on jobs in the healthcare profession. But if you lack empathy for another human, when their lives are at risk it’s time to get another job. This was the saddest experience I’ve ever had in dealing with hospitals.

Not a very good experience with our first born, she almost died due to nurses ignorance.had an issue with my bank, pretty much told me there was nothingnwr9ngnandnsent me home. No x rays nothing. Go to a big city hospital if you can.

Son needed stitches. Went in at 11pm. Called for update, 3 hrs later, at 2am. Son still had not been seen by doctor. Was conected to the ER department. Conected with ER staffer that was Rude, contrite and dismissive. Un acceptable wait times. Bad attitudes. Will get to you when we get to you bad attitude. Prime example of failure of the heath care system, after 230 am still not seen by doctor. Failure of patient care.

Go to literally ANY other hospital. Every single member of staff will treat you like you're an inconvenience.

Great team inside the emergency room on Sunday, October 11,2020 at around 7pm after a terrible car accident I was involved in, I was brought there by 2 amazingly caring male paramedics, which I forget their names. But they were amazing. Once in the ER great staff asked me the COVID questions, and within an hour i saw the doctor, and he lined me up with an orthopaedic for 2 days later. By 9: 30 I was ready to leave, with a nasty fractured humerus. I know a lot of people would say that’s a long time, but I completely understood that I had gotten there at shift switch which makes the waits a little bit longer, but overall they were great.

You need to be more consistent with your covid rules. You were ready to kick me out because I wanted to bring in my own water to the ER. I am told no out side food or drink for all patients. Hmm maybe this only applies to some people. Because low and behold a man sitting in front of me in a wheel chair was allowed in with his water. It was only water and I was made to wait 15 minutes in the door way until a nurse came over to shame me for breaking the rules. Then you let someone in not even 15 minutes later with water.

“Forgetting” someone in a quiet room for 2 hours is absolutely ridiculous. This hospital is shameful.

Very nice staff. Even though buildings and the facilities are out dated, doctors and staff are trying their very best to serve with what available. Special thanks to Dr. Al Kassam and nursing staff for their wonderful care and service. Thanks again

Wait times in this ER is pathetic.its the 21st century! Why are we still suffering in our hospitals? We are supposed to have an enviable healthcare system! Seems archaic! Go to Tillsonburg if you can!

I am a cancer patient who can't breath right my oncologists said get to ER this this an emergency. Here I sit for hours in pain and can't breath, while people with boo boos are getting in first. I have no choice but to wait or could die of infection never know that still might happen here.
14 December 2018 5:06
Avoid like the plague. My partner collapsed and they waited over 8 hours to admit him with no one else in the Emergency room while the nurses gossiped about which doctors they were with that week. If you are sick go to Hamilton or London.
