We went as we just got married and my husband and we were not disappointed!
There was a few personal touches during the evening that made it even more special.
The food is amazing, no question there.
The plates sizes are worth the price and the amazing service is the cherry on top.
Wine wise, they have some gems in there, trust their recommendations.

We will be back!

Really enjoyable evening. Service was really helpful and friendly without being overbearing. A little too dark (people using lights on phones to read the menus) but I understand the ambiance they were trying to obtain.

The food was really good!

Flan was delicate and creamy coupled with the salty crisps made a great starter.

The two pasta dishes (walnut and mushroom) were the highlights of the meal! Both completely different dishes but both hitting the mark!

The scallops were cooked perfectly and paired well with the rest of the dish.

The lamb was tender and delicious but maybe a little over priced for the end result.

The panna cotta was amazing and tasted almost like a luxurious Ferraro Rocher and the pistachio gelato was delightfully devilish and rich, perhaps not what you would expect but it was great.

Overall I would recommend North and Navy to anyone wanting a higher end meal with touch of Italian homeliness.

Authentic yet creative northern Italian fare. Although one of the more expensive restaurants in the Ottawa between the locally infused food options and lovely wait staff, it’s a nice place for business or a date.

Thoughtful menu with incredible Italian dishes best enjoyed family style. Aside from the incredible pastas, the seafood dishes are excellent. Lobster risotto pictured here was delightful. Can't miss out on the affogato and tiramisu. Extensive wine and drink list also! Atmosphere is cozy and perfect for intimate dining experiences.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The customer service was absolutely stunning. Sebastian walked us through the menu flawlessly. I haven’t received such fantastic service in a very long time. Its very cozy and intimate. The food was incredible and came quickly! The wine was perfectly chilled and Sebastian was extremely knowledgeable on the wines. This place is 20/10. I highly recommend trying this place out. Will be returning soon! I admittedly can’t afford to eat here regularly, but it’s a top pick for a special occasion. Somehow, through the food and the atmosphere and the service, they’ve managed to create an atmosphere that feels like an occasion — refined — but also really cozy. The food, as the name would suggest, is Northern Italian and it is pretty much perfect. I hope to invent an occasion as an excuse to go back again soon.

One of Ottawa's true gems - a wonderful cozy ambience, fantastic knowledgeable staff, and delicious food. They have a yummy array of cocktails and wine. Always a fantastic experience dining at North & Navy.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here on Valentine's Day weekend. We also celebrated our anniversary here. Our server, Sebastien (if I recall correctly) was fantastic - we both agreed that he was quite possibly the best server we've ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, warm and welcoming, and offered many suggestions. He checked in the perfect amount of times, as well. We sat on the main level which had really nice vibes with querky decor ranging from Victorian to mid-century to modern. The food was absolutely delicious! I had vegetarian dishes and my partner non-vegetarian. We both loved it. The parsnip cake was phenomenal - not too sweet, but still rich. I want to have it everyday, haha. Thank you for the warm welcome and happy memories.

Been a longtime fan of this place. Their squid ink pasta is to die for, as is any of their beef dishes. They have an intimate indoor setting, as well as easy curb-side pickup.

We did a curb-side for Valentine's Day and it was great as usual!

Amazing food always!
My wife and I are regulars at this restaurant for good reason. The service is always perfect. Love the ambiance and enjoy bringing our granddaughter with us on some occasions.

We came to North and Navy for a belated Valentine's Day meal. We started with the winter traveller cocktail and a tequila Negroni, both were delicious and I particularly loved the winter traveller with rosemary sugar garnish. The polpette (meatballs) did not disappoint, homemade, comforting, delicious. Next we had the braised Lamb raviolo, braised beef shortrib and the duck with lentils and earth cheeries. Everything was amazing, well seasoned and balanced. We had a great wine with dinner and our waiter Sebastian was very approachable, relaxed and knowledgeable. The affogato and tiramisu were wonderful. We very much enjoyed our meal here and would come back again!

Beautiful, classy establishment for those with good taste. Higher end menu. Wonderful, friendly and always accommodating staff. Highly recommend!

Do yourself a favour… Go to North and Navy. The FOOD here is exceptional! Its obviously a great restaurant - and has several years of a proven track record on delivering amazing northern Italian cuisine. I have been here quite a few times and it never disappoints. The atmosphere, the attention to every detail, the service all 10/10 - unmatched. Thank-you.

My partner and I had the BEST time here tonight! Walking in and getting seated was a breeze, despite us being 15 mins early to our reservation. Our server, Sebastien (Sebastian?), was passionnate and prompt. Excellent service all around. Nothing we ate or drank in our four courses fell below the "very good" level: the raviolo is of particular note. Try the "Winter's Traveler" cocktail! Time flew by here, as we were barraged by course after course of creative, beautiful, delicious dishes. A well-deserved five stars.

Definitely one of the best restaurants i’ve ever been to. Amazing hospitality, food and staff. So knowledgeable about the menu and their craft. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been to NoNa on many occasions and whether I’ve sat at the bar and sipped on cocktails, had dinner with a friend or two or celebrated birthdays with bigger parties, I have been so impressed by the service and the quality of food and drink. I would also highly recommend their sister restaurant Cantina Gia!

One of the best meals I’ve had in the city was at North and Navy. Celebrated a promotion at work and was completely and utterly spoiled. Thank you for such a special evening:)

Good service.
There wasn't anything particularly special about this place. The dishes sound interesting, but once they came out, they were pretty basic. The portions of the plates were small, and I did not leave feeling satiated, so I went to grab some food elsewhere. The service was great, in a quaint setting.

Great menu, prices are very reasonable for the experience they offer. Server staff are also very knowledgeable and courteous.

This is a superior restaurant. The service (server Dane) and food were fantastic, and it has a nice dark ambiance with old-style decor. We had dinner on an night where there were a couple of corporate holiday parties, but it did not affect the evening at all- was a good ambiance.

To the food- meatball appetizer was excellent, along with the duck bologonese pasta. The swordfish entree was terrific- with a generous dill shaving on top. For dessert, the affogato was terrific.

My husband and I came to Ottawa for the weekend for our anniversary. We decided on North and Navy for our special evening out.

Right from the first phone call to book our reservation, we could tell that this was an extraordinary place.

This restaurant blew us away! The food was amazing! The dishes are so well thought out and very different than your standard Italian dinner.

Our server, Ellen, had such a great attitude and was so knowledgeable!

Gabi, Ellen and the rest of the staff at North and Navy really made this an exceptional experience.

An absolutely must visit for date night or special occasions! Great ambiance, amazing food, passionate staff.

A fantastic ambiance immediately establishes this northern Italian-style restaurant's vibe: cozy, private feeling, yet surprisingly large.

The food is absolutely spectacular. The meatballs (polpetta) are an absolute must! You'll be served an amazing Italian country bread before your food arrives, but on the outside chance your server forgets to mention, save some bread for the sauce. Don't worry too much about the rest of the menu, there's no bad choice.

They've got a fantastic wine list and the wine by the glass is pulled from their main list, so you're not getting second class wine even if you only want a glass or two. The bartender is very talented and knowledgeable, so if you're stuck for choosing just let them know what you're looking for and you'll get a great libation!

We visited here one date night at the last minute and were lucky to get in. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. Wonderful decore and ambiance. Had the eggplant starter which had such a balanced and intentional flavours. The drinks and mains were great too. The staff were exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Service was appropriately timed, and excellent. Overall we had a great experience.

Been meaning to try this place and finally came here in November for a friend’s birthday. Food was delicious - we shared the Italian meatballs as an appy and duck breast. Portions are not huge compared to other places, but it was more than enough for me since I’m not a big eater. It’s a cozy place, but it wasn’t too loud so it was nice!

I've been going hear for awhile now and it's time I put a review for this place with their mouth-watering and flavorful food. You could call me a pasta lover and wow do they make some incredible pasta! If you haven't had the chance to try their Squid Ink Linguine, you should and I'm sure you will thank me for the recommendation try anything on this menu and give it a whirl because your tastebuds are in for an incredible ride. Oh, and let's not forget those with a sweet-tooth out there, the tiramisu and gelato will hit the spot - trust me
