I have been going to this place for the last 4 years, and yesterday, I realized that every time I went, I was being robbed by the useless service which was not even necessary. I went to get safety done, and they told me that the front brakes needed to be replaced as only 15% was left, and the rear brakes needed service. It seemed like the new guy they hired didn't know much and was instructed by his boss to charge more by offering unnecessary services. They took $20 just to tell me this. However, the next day, I went to Toyota to get my brakes and rotors checked, and they informed me that there was still 6mm left, which is good enough to drive another 40,000 to 50,000 km. For hybrid cars, brakes usually last around 150,000 to 180,000 km. I would strongly advise against going to that place as they charge for things that are not required.
At least be genuine

These guys are big scammers. I was there today for inspection of my car and they told me we need to service brakes. I was there in agency two days ago and they already did servicing of brakes two days ago. The old guy told me without brake service I am not going to pass inspection. I was in hurry and told him to do that. After he told me my car is getting rust and get the rust coated I refused because my car is only 1 year old and I have rust proofing warranty for agency. While I was there there were around 7-8 cars and he told all of them about brakes and it’s not a coincidence that all cars have same problem. All of them refused to have brake service and they all returned without having it done from him. Guys be aware he steal money from people’s pocket saying about brakes and rust coating. You can visit other mechanic for inspection.

Super bad experience. They told my gf to change brake pads and router. I went to Canadian tire. They said everything is ok with car. They wanted to make money from us. Be careful guys

The owner is way too rude, doesn’t know how to talk to customers. I called in today but his response was rude and ignorant. I don’t understand why people go here when there are so many better mechanics to go for and they are polite too.

All the one star reviews are misplaced. They are just the reviews from habitually guys without even ever visiting the garage, in most cases. A lot of my friends and self have visited this garage several times and nobody has ever complained about anything. They are honest, straightforward and fair.

The owner’s son is insolent and the staff is impolite. Didn’t feel welcome at all. The work done is poor too. Will not visit the store again.

Very honest mechanics, could’ve took my money and ran but advised me to take it to the dealership with the manufacturer’s warranty.

The guy at the front desk is extremely rude the owner needs to train him better. I don't know if he was having a bad day or something but he should treat customers with respect. I am sure I am not the only one who felt this since the reviews are full of same comments.

The owner is so rude. He literally behaves as if he is doing someone a favour by working for them. If you want an Uber/lyft certificate, avoid this place.

I went there for vehicle inspection and also got rust proofing and they recommended lubricating rear breaks and charged 80 dollars for that and breaks started giving problem. I went to dealership they are saying something is replaced and north star auto owner don't have any answer. He is making excuses and just arguing. Break shoes still has life dealership recommended not change it and informed there is something wrong with rear breaks and i had went only to dealership or to north star auto from the day i got car.
I am not satisfied with answer given by owner and service provided.

These guys are the big fraudsters in the name of repair shop. I went there to get safety certificate for uber and they said your breaks are not good and charged me 20$ + tax. So i went to my regular mechanic and he told me breaks are good to go. Just don’t go to them because they are cheapest on the uber website you will spend your money but won’t get nothing.

Don't ever go there $40 for Uber/Lyft safety is an absolute trap. You have to pay for whatever he asks or pay for car pickup/checkup.

Don't go there for uber saftey.scam.will charge you 20$ and tell u that ur car didn't passed saftey test.

Went here for safety inspection. He asked me to replace the brakes. I had checked it out with my dealer he said the same thing. Will be using service again.

Came here for rust proofing and was quickly attended to. The quality of which will hopefully stand the test of time.

Nice place to get you car serviced as well as for uber safety. They charge genuine price for everything.

I have nothing but good things to say about these folks! Brought my Escalade in for an urgent brake line replacement, and despite the challenges, they persevered and got the job done right. Very communicative, and a pleasure to work with. My car's now safer than ever.

Went for an auto inspection and was in and out in 30min. Very quick and efficient! They also reminded me that I needed rust protection (I have a brand new car) and we’re able to do it for me in that time! Amazing! 10/10 recommend

Owner's son was very rude. Even he doesn't know how to speak with a women. He has zero manners, and alots of attitude. He said that no need to come again on my shop. This is ridiculous. I will never recommend this service.

Reply to Owner: You are the cheapest person I have ever seen. Who even wants to come back on your shop. Even to new clients we will never recommend.

The old guy is the owner ig. He is very rude to customers. I went there to get my safety certification he spoke to me very rudely and didn’t do the work. Not good people

The fact that they do free safety inspections if cars fail is pretty.great most places charge for looking at your vehicle

Such a scam, the manager is extremely devious, they will rip you off pretty good with extra high charges if you don't know much about cars.
Plus they will make you sign the invoice first without filling the details of work they will perform.

I won't recommend this place to anyone, they use cheap safety as a bait to trap people.

I never said to give SCC without repairs, your price was way too much for the service offered.

He fixed a problem with the rear brake that my old mechanic failed to do. Did good, honest work and now the brakes operate perfectly smooth without any sounds. Such a great person in my experience. I will never go back to that other mechanic or even worse, my dealership. Dealerships are criminals. I will do every oil change and maintenance here from now on.

Nice and reasonable price for car repairs. The owner is really a sober n friendly guy and takes time to discuss the problems the car might face. Only con of the workshop is the filthy restroom.

I got an uber safety here.
The head technician really takes care of his work and makes sure the vehicle is safe to drive.and for $45 +tax for an Uber safety, its an unbelievable deal, when other places charge $150+!

Great to see that a bargain can still be found in 2021. Especially when you know the car is not going to need anything.

I got my car safety certification done at such an affordable price never heard before. I recommend it 100%.

This guy lifted my car up and told I need to change my front brakes, it's all good up to this point. Then he was like if you're doing it somewhere else you might as well let them do the safety because I will not do it for you. Im like why is that? He said we're not doing charity here. Rude and unprofessional

$30 bucks for " I used my time" and even nth can be fixed, no thanks.

I had the best experience at this location. Employees at this location are very welcoming and was very patient in doing everything needed. I would recommend anyone to go visit this location.

The Best place in town for Car Inspection. I went there for my Uber Car Safety Inspection and the owner (Sam) gave me excellent service.

Nice place to get your safety done. Not a long waiting list. Reasonable charges. Did my other car last year from these guys as well.

Terrible customer service. I went there vehicle inspection and they had me waiting for 1 hour. I called over the phone to get an appointment before hand, the guy told me just visit.

Worst place to go for safety

Stay away from this guy. No professionalism.no ethics. Told me time to come and see him.after waiting for hours received no service and he never called me either when he had my number.everything that he has written that "offered free inspection" is a lie. Never happened. That is his generic response to all his problems.
Stay away from him.
If you already go to him and are happy then go.but if you are NEW don't go to him and he does not fulfill his time commitments.

I had a pretty good experience here and good rates. The owner was very kind to me. There was a kid crying while I was there and he brought out a box of toys to help them chill out and got them to calm down. Hes really nice and all the mechanics are very knowledgable. They work relatively quickly. My car is a 2014 Honda Civic. Fair prices and gave good explanantion for everything happening with my car and their recommendations. Will definitely come back.

Amazing car safety check. The person verifies the car throughly and checks wehter it needs maintenance or not. Didn't took much time to do.

Went there for an inspection to pass uber, guy said my engine is making a whistling sound. My car is perfectly fine but the guy makes lame excuses to fail your car so they can make business off of you by fixing something that isn't broken. Don't go here this place is corruptted.

I was having appointment with them and reached at time and still the person was very rude and said to wait wait and wait for one hour,
If you give someone time then you should be abide by that, i am sorry if it sounds rude, i visited here for the very first time and i am getting this type of impression. I am not commenting on your work but on your attitude towards customer.

Great place to do your yearly automotive certification. They even allow you to look under your own car and explain everything that they are doing. $45 + tax.

I clearly should've read the reviews before going there lol. No professionalism, customer care skills are pretty below average.

They don't really have much knowledge about the brand new cars and their visuals. My recommendation is to go to the dealership instead which will charge you more but at least they get the job done in a proper way.

Fast efficient service came for SSC $50 flat from Uber reference. Busy shop lots of customers.book appointment to be served.

Sam is wonderful and genuine however, Tony (one of the machines) is very rude to his co-workers and The uber safety price is now 55 but overall the prices are cheap compared to Canadian trie or the dealership thanks for you service
