I moved from Kitchener-Waterloo to Toronto during the pandemic and tried North Woodbridge Vet during my hunt for a new vet for my furr babies (2 cats). Unfortunately, very quickly I realized that this was not the vet for us. My one cat is extremely nervous at vets, and if not handled by a confident and experienced vet, will understandably be difficult to handle. My previous long term vet in KW handled her very well despite her anxiety and knew just what to do to manage her. The vet I had at North Woodbridge seemed very unexperienced to me - upon bringing her in to see him, he sent her away without doing any of the health exams I brought her there for and called her 'physically aggressive' - I was then told I would have to have her fully sedated to do even a basic exam for her. Of course, this didn't sit well with me for two reason -

1. Anaesthetic is very dangerous and should not be used so liberally as this vet was suggesting (for a basic exam).

2. Despite her anxiety at vets and tendency to be difficult to handle, other vets have done so successfully - in fact I was at my new vet today with her and they trimmed her claws, did a full exam and addressed a health concern with one of her paws without any sedation.

This is actually what prompted me to send this review now upon reflection on that situation as compared to other vets I have been to.

Not sure what was up with my time with this vet - perhaps it is specific to the vet I was assigned to; however based on my experience I would not recommend this vet for cats or any animal that experiences a lot of anxiety at the vet.

Amazing service, vet technicians call and check on your pets, email reminders for any vaccinations or medicine that needs to be taken, patient and calm with the animals

First and for most I would like to recognize the only doctor in this clinic that cared about our puppy. Dr. Lee was amazing, answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable with his position.

On May 5th we took in our dog for a nail problem he had. He had injured himself the day before and we called the next morning and the clinic was able to take Mocha a few hours later. We took Mocha in and he was checked and treated for his nail. Stephanie was the doctor (which is also the owner) and apparently she did a full exam but missed th fact that Mocha had some issues on his tail.

I called the office on May 10 because of his medication and I asked the reception a question regarding his tail and why it wasn’t addressed. The reception isn’t didn’t really say much and the office manager Ashley grabbed the phone and started getting loud. At that point I didn’t even ask to speak to her I just had a few questions. Ashley stated Stephanie was in a surgery and Justin had appointments back to back but she was able to answer on why the tail wasn’t looked at. Stephanie told Ashley to let me know the tail was never brought up by us so she didn’t even bother to examine it even though we got charge $100.00+ for a physical exam. The part on his tail is very noticeable but Stephanie decided not to bring it up or address the possible issue as she assumed we had shave it. I did let Ashley know that doesn’t make any sense as no dog owner would randomly shave a part of a tail. Ashley started then cutting my conversation short and stating that she has no idea on what happened. I asked to speak to Stephanie and all of a sudden she was unable to take any calls. I was told I was going to get a call back from either owners and that never happened. She then hung up on me again, for the second time and when I called back there was no answer. Ashley then called me back and instead of letting me know the doctors have spoken to her and they will take a look at his tail, she stated the doctors spoke to her and they wanted to terminate me as a client. Which was fine because now I am worried that Stephanie also owner didn’t even realize a physical possible issue how would she determine an internal possible issue. I would rather drive an extra 30 mins to go to another vet that I will be comfortable with knowing my dogs will be in good hands.

The only reason we chose this clinic was because it was steps away from our home but with our other pets, we had them in another clinic. Which now I have confirmation that just because it is near your home doesn’t mean they will care nor it is a good idea to true t your pets with them. When Ashley stated the owners decide to terminate my pet as a client she rudely asked for an email and without me answering she hung up so I had to email them to get my pets record for his new clinic. When I received my pets record they made false accusations stating I was rude and that the second owner Justin had called which never actually happened.

I've had the most incredible experience working with Dr. Surette and his team. My 8 week old puppy Arlo was diagnosed with puppy strangles, an extremely rare condition and Dr. Surette was one of the only doctors who was able to figure it out right away! He immediately provided treatment for him, had us come in multiple times a week to have the vet techs clean his eyes and ears (as they would become gunky from his condition) at no charge. I have brought all three of my puppies to him and he has taken the most incredible care of them. I'm not sure that if I'd have brought Arlo somewhere else, he would've made it as most vets passed his condition off as a regular infection and not a life threatening condition. The reception and support staff are incredibly warm and friendly. I don't have a single bad thing to say about my experience with this team. Would highly recommend.

I only ever leave reviews in situations where I wish there was a bonus star option but in this situation I wish I had the option to give Dr. Surette and the staff at clinic (who we met today and on previous visits) 7 stars! There truly isn't any other doctor I'd trust with the medical welfare of my 3 cat kids, Agita, Lcee and Finn.

Everyone at the clinic is so kind, knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate. No matter my concern or questions they take the time to assist. Dr. Justin is amazing. When I bring my dog in for his wellness check-up or for anything else I know my dog is in the best hands. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at North Woodbridge veterinary hospital.

Don’t put too much into the negative reviews. There’s always gonna be one offs, crazy people and the fact that we are working with humans.

Short story. Got a kitten 7 months ago…she came with fleas. Went to a vet close by in the area. They were idiots there.

Got a referral from a friend that had a great experience with her kitten. She wasn’t wrong. The vet was great. Patient, explained everything and all options, never pushy you are in control for what your pet needs, assistants were all very kind and friendly and it was busy (means others have the same experience, saw a lot of puppies there). They asked for masks as you are in close contact with the vet which you should do to be respectful.

One of the assistants processed my payment…while the other had put together a kitten pack with a huge amount of info and explained a detail breakdown of cost for spaying etc. I would call back to arrange an appointment and decide what I would want for my cat.

Experience was awesome…Charlie (my cat) has a new doc. I don’t write reviews…but I wanted to for this vet. Great job guys and thanks.

We absolutely love North Woodbridge Veterinary Hospital and all the staff! We have been bringing our Maltipoo, Charlie here ever since we got him! He’s gotten neutered here and I have to start off by saying, they were amazing! Charlie was well taken care of and I felt comfortable leaving him there. The doctors are very understanding, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here:)

Brought my 9-year-old MinPin in for what was thought to be 2-3 dental extractions. Turned out that my little guy required much more time than was anticipated. Dr. Domenic honoured his estimate and also sent Silas home with the best after-care package. I still have his "Certificate of Bravery, " friggin adorable. Lovely staff.

I just started taking my puppy here. Dr. Justin was patient and answered all my questions (and I had more than a few). I did a lot of research while looking for a vet and I'm glad I chose this place. They're extremely warm and caring with your fur baby.

Had to share this review. Before I made this appointment I was assured by the receptionist that I was able to bring my 3 year old son in with me. When I arrived it was a different story, the doctor did not want to accept my son and told me it was because of Covid and a precaution blah blah blah.then why did your staff say it was ok? They said it was a miscommunication, Really? ! Because I was clearly told by staff that I had no childcare prior to arriving to this appointment. Where was the miscommunication? I have never experienced such discrimination and horrible service. The only other option I had was to have my scared dog who has never ever seen this vet before go in by himself to get examined and I would have to wait outside with my son. Ummm No Thanks! Call me crazy but this was my first time there and why would I put my dog through all that stress not to mention I dont know this vet from anywhere to be left alone with my dog. In the 11 years I have had my dog I have never left my dog alone with any vet, he is so scared when he goes in. The treatment I received was unfair and shame on this clinic and all the staff for wasting my time not to mention not discriminating against mothers who dont have any means of childcare and trying to do whats best for my dog. Very disappointed in this vet and dealing with this situation so poorly. Your actions reflect on your business!

We have been a patient at this clinic for 1.5 years. One month ago, we were in crisis mode with our pup with a potentially life-threatening issue and drove to the clinic to be there when they opened to speak to our Doctor. We were parked out front when the Dr.arrived. He was in the clinic for 20 minutes before the 1st patient came in. The person who said she was "office manager" would not let us speak to the Doctor; she said there were no appointments available and told us to go elsewhere. I don't think the Dr.even knew we were there, and we were being blocked. As a Veterinarian with love and compassion for animals, I would think there is no way he would refuse to help as it is just cruel. We sped down the road to another clinic, where the Doctor came out immediately to talk with us and discuss the next steps.

Vaccinations, checkups and conversation is lovely, but we only know how good a clinic is when you need them. North Woodbridge had no interest in helping us when we were scared and helpless. I have since sent three emails asking the Doctor to call me (we have developed a great rapport over the 18 months), and I want to explain what happened and why we changed doctors for our furbaby. I have not yet received a call, and I assume he has no idea I am trying to reach him.
I reached out again yesterday and Ashley the "office manager" breezily advised she has transferred 'my file' to the new vet and "if I have a concern I can discuss it with her. " Such a disappointment.
From the bottom of my heart, please find a clinic that cares and will help you when you are desperate and in panic mode because when you are sitting out front crying and being told they won't help, it is the worst feeling in the world.

My boxer sunny used to go there ever since he was a puppy, all the doctors here are amazing, but this one goes specifically to Dr sorette!
We had to move a couple of years ago, decided to go to a closer clinic, bad mistake, sunny developed extreme terror and would never allow anyone touch him. I ran back to dr Sorette, his care, knowledge, patience and utter honest care, never felt he was after the money, in fact he spends hours on the phone explaining and discussing issues and solutions and never asked for a penny. I'm honestly beyond thankfull.
He takes his time, he understands a dog's trust is important, never complained.sunny allows him to touch him and all.
Dr sorette! I would follow you to the moon if I have to, you are our one and only vet! We are beyond thankfull.
In case u do not know, you are awesome!
