Northern Maverick Brewing Co

I had brunch at Northern Maverick on a Saturday on their patio. Very noisy intersection, however the brunch mimosa $5 special make it worth it. Very average food in terms of quality and flavour. The fries came out cold and when we mentioned it, the server insisted on getting us a warm serving of fries. Great service! Ok patio space. Standard brunch options on the menu. Excellent Service!

We keep coming back for the fried chicken - it’s so good! It’s made so well, the batter is crispy and right amount of thickness, and chicken is moist. Fries and the cornbread are also good. The sauces are super delicious especially the sweet curry one! Portion is large, so much so that we always share this dish.

Other dishes like the pizza and vegan curry dish were not memorable.

Servers are friendly.

Decor is modern, there’s multiple tv screens and washrooms are spacious and clean. There’s loads of seats inside and outside - they open their doors so that sitting inside has an inside-outside feel. The outside seating area is also dog friendly.

Overall, I’d recommend this place!

We had a Friends Birthday party there last night. We were Greeted Warmly by the Manager Meaghan. Our servers were Amazing and knowledgeable, we had 1 friend with food alergys. The Food was Awesome, we had Burgers and the Fried Chicken. Even the picky eaters enjoyed their Chicken. They have a Great selection of their own craft beers. We all had a Great time and we will be back!

I am giving this place 5 sars based on the pilsner alone.

If you are a pilsner fan, than whatever pilsner they have on offer here is a must try!

Decent food, atmosphere and service and an amazing amount of seating. I liked the smoked duck salad, pretty reasonable size for the price. It is more of a sports bar vibe here so not as much my vibe but if you like that you would love this place.

My first few encounters here were not the best. However, in the last year, I’ve come more often, both alone & with friends.
The staff are friendly & always helpful. This has become a very easy spot for me to choose when friends are visiting or I just come to grab a bite with my baby.
There’s a large patio along with indoor space.
Bathrooms are upstairs but stroller & wheelchair accessible ones on the main floor. Russell is usually my server as I’m there in the afternoon and his coworkers / manager are so pleasant.
They’ve been very accommodating to myself and my stroller/baby.
I usually get the meatballs which come with the naan bread & today got to try their gnocchi which was also super yummy.

Food was tasty with a great selection and their beer was especially good. I can't wait to return! Awesome polar bear too!

If you're not busy on a Saturday. Then there is usually a reason why. Drink and food are way overpriced. Service is mediocre at best. The is zero enthusiasm from the staff and I can see why.

I can't say enough about how much we enjoy going to Maverick Brewing when we are in Toronto! We dream about their smoked chicken wings from way out here in BC. Service is fabulous and the atmosphere is always fun and exciting. Thank you Meaghan for another great experience! Already looking forward to our next visit!

Nice patio and very friendly staff, the food is brilliant, the beers decent, the enforcer IPA probably their best. They have a bottle shop as well & are open late.

I stopped in for a quick cocktail, they had a whiskey, sour option that was great 10/10 would recommend.

However as I’m paying & already chose an tipping option probably %20 (because I’m also a bartender, & always tip appropriately) the bartender makes a comment that I need to tip, he looks down and sees I already did and he awkwardly laughs and says never mind. The bartender was hot too and I genuinely loved my overpriced whiskey sour. ($18) Wish I could return for another but that awkward experience left a bad taste in mouth. Not all minorities don’t tip!

This is my favourite local watering hole. The beer is top tier. I personally like a wide variety of beers and this brew master does not disappoint! They have a knack for experimenting and always have new fresh flavours to cleanse the palette. Currently the luminosa (NEIPA) is absolutely phenomenal!

Not to be outdone by the beverages, Maverick is a gastropub through and through. The food is absolutely delicious. The brunch menu boasts the ever amazing eggs Benedict while the main menu has a mean fried chicken which I have had more times than I would like to admit.

The service in my experience has always been outstanding. I feel welcomed warmly by the staff, and have had my fair share of laughs with the bartenders and servers. Meaghan, the general manager, always goes above and beyond to ensure we are having the best experience Maverick can provide. She is an absolute gem!

I could not recommend this place more. Delicious food, top notch drinks, and the best people, what else could you possibly need! Cheers!

Had a fantastic evening at Northern Maverick. Thanks to our amazing server who took such good care of us (and whose name I have managed to forget). Highly recommend the buttermilk fried chicken!

After attending the location for our annual company retreat I must say Jordan (JP), Alex, and Teresa provided exceptional service. As a senior manager of customer experience success we would definitely bring Jordan and Teresa onto our team they are quality servers and make sure that everyone had an exceptional time. Will love to come here again for another larger Tech event, most importantly for a quality fun time experience for entire company!

Great staff Northern Maverick Brewery!

We tried this on the off chance and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was outstanding, we ordered off the brunch menu, $5 mimosa and craft lagers went great with the food. Had the Shakshuka and Trout Benny. So good.

Service was also outstanding. Our server was Resham, so bubbly and welcoming. She made sure to care for our every need.

I don’t recommend this place, they come across as upscale to justify charging $18 for a negroni and garnish it with a lemon wedge? I won’t be back, thoroughly disappointed.

I'll apologize in advance for the lengthy review, although worth the time, I promise. Keep in mind folks, I personally have been in the restaurant business just shy of 30 years and I do have very high standards. Let's start.
I called to book a reservation for a family reunion. It was very important to me that Northern Maverick was the right place for said event. I spoke to the Manager Meaghan and she sensed my doubt as I asked questions. She then told me if I had time she would love it if I could come in and view the place. I immediately sensed her amazing energy and decided it was worth the trip to meet her and get answers in person. She immediately came to meet me when I arrived with a smile and a firm hand shake, (which I love!)
She gave me a tour of the establishment explaining brewing process and explained the difference between IPAs and lager, pilsner. It felt like I was getting a VIP tour. They even have a retail store next door that you can buy there amzing products. So obviously all my doubt whether or not this was the right place had dissipated. The evening went without a hitch. Our server was Laurel. I mean this was obviously an experienced hospitality worker who took her job seriously. From her introduction, to wine, beer pairing and her unbelievable product knowledge of the food was mind blowing. Her ability to  popp and buzz food items, romancing  the dishes was second to none. It was almost as if she was the chef. I know that she wasn't the Chef because the chef actaully came out to check if the food was ok. WHAT! What restaurants do that!? Is this an establishment looking for thier first Michelin star? Did they think I'm a food critic? Even the sous chef came out. Willy, I think his name was? I thought these actions just added to an already excellent evening. Everyone loved the food. We started with a cheese board and charcuterie board. Unbelievable. The specials, Shaved Prime rib sand with cheese and peppers served with a side of creamy horseradish sauce was popular at the table. I got the burger which was in the top 5 on my list, and I have very high standards for burgers. The duck confit salad was next level! The brewed in house beer, and wine was so tasty. I forget how many I had, hmmm. To finish it off we had a few  desserts on the table. Creme Brule, amazing. Their version of tiramisu, amazing. Their was one more dessert that I didn't try, but whole table.quess what, amazing!
So, in short (haha, short, see what I did there) it was a very memorable, special night.
To the manager Meaghan, if you hadn't gone above and beyond and invited me in person and do your thing, I'm not sure I would have booked the reservation.   Thank you for stopping by the table numerous times throughout the dinning experience to make sure we were all good. Nice touch. You and your whole team at The Northern Maverick deserve this very long review and a huge round of applause. I mean standing ovation! Keep up the great work making customers feel like guests in your own home. That really makes a difference in the guests experience. I will be back!

The patio is nice, the drinks are okay - they're definitely over priced, but I'm sure everywhere is at this point. The food is subpar, we only ate it because we were hungry. And we still had to find somewhere else to eat afterwards. The food is the reason I wouldn't go back.
For reference, we got the wings, charcuterie board (where they gave us the wrong thing, but it took so long to get it in the first place we weren't willing to wait any longer), and the beet salad. All of it was really bad, except the cheese.

Came with a group of 12 friends and had an awesome time. Our server Emma took great care of the table. Highly recommend.

I’ve tried their gnocchi and tasted amazing! I also like their lager that they brew in house.

Went a couple of weeks back, extremely slow service, and food came out cold after 40ish minutes.

Jhanvi was my server and she actually made my experience a 5 star experience. She recommended my drinks and food and I want to give all the credit to her for my amazing experience. She is so lovely and kind, I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else. Thank you Jhanvi! <3

Fantastic service by all Maverick staff. Great experience with CJ, Rudy, and Ann. Amazing attention to detail and service during playoff! Will come back again. Thank you!

Made a reservation for 6: 30 through Open Table, arrived at 6: 15 and told to wait as no table was ready. Watched two couples who arrived after me seated at a table by another door person. When i then enquired i was told there was no table available. I was offered a high top next to the bar. I told them my wife could not sit at a high top and that clearly a table reservation is not defined as bar high top and does not explain how people who arrived after us were seated at tables. “Maybe a table would be ready in 20-30 minutes”…. I explained i had theatre tickets across the street and that would not work. Either this is a totally mismanaged place or maybe they prefer reservations made directly and not through Open Table. Regardless, no excuse for over booking, best you go elsewhere. Over booking is a sign of arrogance, greed and no real care for patrons. Had a great dinner on King West instead.

Frequently visit Maverick for their happy hour and am always pleased with the kind and attentive service. Theresa recently served us on the bar and was charismatic and very friendly. She had informed us that she had just started training on bar but as far as I could tell she was a natural. She was extremely personable and took great care of her guests! 10/10 would recommend.
