Overall great experience at Northside VW, absolutely in love with my new 2024 Atlas Peak Edition. Couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to deal with especially Cora, she was very friendly and knowledgeable!

Purchased a new Jetta and a Tiguan from them. Was very happy with their service at first. Then something always seemed to get damaged every single time I brought my vehicles in for an oil change.

Everything from leaving tools on the engine which scratched the undersides of the hoods, to someone leaning or kneeling on the grills and breaking them, to the final straw where they put the hoist through the floor of my Jetta, then blamed my wife saying she ran something over.

Had pictures of everything, contacted the manager and owner and they did not seem to care. So filed a complaint and sent all pictures to VW Canada who also did not care at all.

So now my two VW's get serviced at another shop and my two new vehicles are of another brand and dealer.

Second chance, Nov. 2023:
So just had Northside VW in Sault Ste, Marie replace one of those
defective water pumps in my VW Tiguan that there is a class action
lawsuit going on about. Unfortunately I had to leave town and needed
it fixed for my wife and they were the ONLY shop in town that could
get me in. I quit dealing with them a few years ago when they put the
hoist through the floor of my new Jetta doing an oil change then tried
to blame my wife (see my review for pics) Neither them or VW
Canada cared so I had to have a body shop put new floor pan in at my
expense. SO.now back to water pump job. I reminded them of all the
past events and told them "this is a test" to see if you can regain my
trust. Anyway, they charged 2.5 hours for DIAGNOSES to determine that
the coolant visibly pouring out the water pump was indeed a bad water
pump. Then proceeded to charge me $2500 to replace (7.5 hours) When I
got back from out of town and saw invoice, I called another VW shop
and they were doing that exact job. I gave them all pat numbers and
said how much would it cost? They said $1400. Also, the service
manager could not tell me if they put in another defective plastic
water pump assembly or the upgraded steel one. He said I'll ask
"technician" and call you back. No call back. So anyone thinking of a
new VW or dealing with Northside, beware. I replaced the Jetta with a
Ford and now this one will also be replaced. So far I have not
replaced ANY parts on my Fords yet at EVERY oil change interval the
VW's need new sway bar links and break coil springs once a year. JUNK.

I have since bought 3 Fords after I got rid of the Jetta. And that's
all that is ever going to be in my driveway from now on.

Danielle was very helpful in discussing pricing and models available in my price range. She was very knowledgeable and was able to provide answers in all my questions. She helped me purchase my dream car within price range. I would definitely recommend her!

I went to Volkswagen looking for a brand new car. Cora was very helpful as she took the time to answer all of my questions and showed me different options for my price range. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I chose the 2023 Taos and I’m so glad I did!

They are not thorough.
I’ve been misdiagnosed multiple times. Had I have listened to the mechanics here, the life of my family would have been at risk during a road trip.
If your car is past the four year “fill and drive” warranty, they basically don’t want to deal with you. They’re good to change and store tires.
The multi point inspection means nothing.
Trust your gut and get a second opinion if you think something is not right.

I love my new Volkswagen. I've now purchased 3 vehicles from Northside Volkswagen and every experience with the dealership and all of its staff has been outstanding

I bought a car from this location even though I live in Ottawa.from the first person to answer the phone to the finance department and everyone in between this place is pure class. Everyone was so polite and helpful. Cody was very accessible, even on evening and weekends. I have bought about a dozen cars in my life, three of them remotely and this was by far the most pleasant experience.

I am extremely happy with my new Atlas Cross Sport and the excellent service I received from Danielle Bruni. She is very knowledgeable about all the vehicles features and spent time explaining them to me. It was a very pleasurable experience.

I called and ask if they service Mercedes and they said “ yes” I brought the car in for an oil change, battery and an oil leak and need it winter tires…. All said and done I got a 2500$ bill and the car back with oil leak still, engine light and seatbelt light on and they wrote on the bill that they don’t have the tools to fix the oil leak… I had to take the car to Mercedes Sudbury to fix it and just to get the engine light and the seatbelt off cost me 350$. I contacted the service manager at VW and I got no apologies or a refund for all the mess they cause.

Update to owners response.

When a battery is being replaced on a Mercedes, the vehicle’s computer must be updated with the changes. Since VW service didn’t have the adequate knowledge to complete the job as a result the light (SRS) and engine light went on and I was not informed about it until after I went into the vehicle! When I ask the service advisor about it he stated it was an air bag light on and he didn’t know how that happened same for the engine light. At my personal expense and time I had to travel to Sudbury to have VW’s installation (battery) errors and dashboard diagnoses corrected.
In conclusion this VW dealership is not taking ownership for their mistakes and misinformation causing customer unwarranted financial expenses.
