A very nice place to get away. The staff are incredibly friendly, the trails are beautiful, the food is delicious and high tea is definitely a highlight!

Is this place even in business? I've left multiple messages with no reply, and every time I call it goes to voicemail!

I have no complaints about this spa, but I also don't have any compliments. This spa sits exactly at the line of doing the bare minimum without anything to complain about and so when you book, you have to expect a basic experience, not a luxurious one.

The check in was smooth, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, my treatment was interesting but it stops there.

The decor in the room doesn't have any effort put into it to give you a more relaxing or cozy experience. The curtains in my room had a bunch of spots where they were coming off the hooks.

Usually spas have nice skin care and other products, here they had random and mismatched products like head and shoulders and pantene.

The staff were okay put not particularly friendly.

I booked because I wanted two nights at Ste. Annes and could only get one and for anyone booking here because you can't get a Ste. Annes book you just can't expect the same. On a scale from 1-10, Ste. Annes is a 12 and this place is maybe a 4.8

I spent a solo day for my birthday. The whole experience was amazing. The site is beautiful, pristine and cozy. All of my treatments were amazing, relaxing, not rushed, very professional. The sauna was heavenly. The food was incredible.
Mary Lou was without a doubt a highlight.making certain everything was perfect.
My day was full so I didn’t have time for the hot tub or walking trails but both sounded amazing.
Overall a fabulous way to spend a day. A great way to unwind.

Day one of our spa weekend! Check in went smoothly and all the staff have been fantastic, especially Mary Lou at the front desk! We weren't sure what to expect from our first Ayurveda treatment but it was fantastic and very relaxing. Food has been excellent and our server is lovely. Our only suggestion so far would be a shuttle service into town as we took the train to Cobourg. Looking forward to a weekend of relaxation!

I really wanted to give this place a higher star rating but it just didn’t meet our expectations. I’ll start with the positive. The food is amazing, fresh and creative. High tea left a little to be desired but hit the spot. Staff are pleasant and attentive. Locker rooms and common areas are very clean and well taken care of. Now for the not so good. Treatments were underwhelming for a spa and comparable to a walk-in nail salon. Massage was relaxing but not therapeutic in any way. Homemade signs everywhere, taped to the windows. Incredibly unprofessional and unnecessary. 3 hot tubs, only one working and all three have covers that need to be manually removed. Anyone with accessibility needs should consider a different location.

My girlfriend and I spend one night at Northumberland heights wellness retreat and spa and we had the most amazing relaxing experience. The food, spa treatments and overall experience were outstanding.
We are very impressed by our time there and will for sure be coming back.
I strongly recommend the high tea. The tea itself coupled with the savoury and sweet flavours from the pastries were our of this world.
The facility offers hot tubs, amazing hike trails and a beautiful scenery.
It is for sure a jewel close to the city!

Beautiful property, top notch service, and a fantastic experience. Danny from the dining room, Komal, Shayla, Julia and Rebecca all pitched in to make this experience the most amazing time. The best spa ever!

Caution. They list AYURVEDA TREATMENTS and take your money but guess what, no AYURVEDA TREATMENTS! You will book and pay and then make your spa selections. I go in four weeks and was just informed that the Ayurveda provider has family concern and not avail until the fall. If the chef or housekeeping left, you replace them until staff returns. The main issue is that the spa still list AYURVEDA TREATMENTS as an option! I was told I had to now select from the "international spa treatments". I would have gone to Ste Annes and I selected this place so we could experience the Ayurveda treatment. So you will book with NO refund (I asked and was told NO) and then you will not get this item. I booked here bc of this option and it does not exist.

Edit: I wanted to add, that I never received a 'response from the owner'. Often wondered why they would not acknowledge this.

Had a 2 night package getaway and loved every bit of our stay! Very relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Delicious food; the breakfast, high tea and dinner were included on our package. Delaney and Shawna in the restaurant were so lovely. Heather lead yoga every morning with a view. The dry sauna and steam sauna were nice. We also indulged in some spa services that were a lovely touch on a relaxing stay. Thank you everyone!

My friend and I stayed here for 1 night, it was our first time at The Northumberland Heights Wellness Retreat & Spa. The service has been incredible since the minute we checked in, following by our delicious and savoury lunch. The property and its beautiful and well maintained landscapes are the perfect scenery for relaxation. We strongly recommend “The High Tea” with their three tiers of delicious sweets. Treatments are very recommended as well.
Thanks so much to the entire staff for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

Northumberland Heights dinning experience is spectacular! The food is Michelin Star quality, prepared by an International chef. The restaurant is not just for spa guests. It will quickly be your new favourite dinning experience!

Amazing food (and large portions), very comfy beds, great spa services, and skilled technicians. Hot tubs are perfect. Yoga was fabulous, with an excellent instructor (one of the Heathers). Complimentary cab fare to and from Via Rail was a great touch!
Sauna could be much hotter though, and sauna/steam room instructions in general could be more clear. Needs a fire pit for cooler evenings. Scheduling was a bit difficult ahead of time, but was quickly sorted out when we arrived.

Amazing experience! There are so many great things to share: beautiful hall and room, very warm and caring staff. Shawna, Mary and other staffs, they are all very caring, friendly and attentive to make sure everything is fine with us. The food is delicious and beautifully set. We really enjoyed every moment here to relax the mind, to detox the body. Thank you for your great service. Highly recommended this place.:)

We came for a couple days of relaxation. The staff were most welcoming, friendly and most accommodating.

My Sister has numerous food allergies and the kitchen bent over backwards to adjust a number of things on the menu to accommodate her.

The spa experience was exceptional and we hope to return in the near future. I would certainly recommend this Wellness Retreat to anyone that is looking to get away for several days of relaxation and pampering.

My daughter and I spent a lovely two nights at Northhumberland Heights. The intimate wellness retreat was exceptional in its level of service. Shauna and her mom were particularly lovely and attentive. All the staff went the extra mile to make sure our stay was beyond our expectations. We were also blown away by the food, which was outstanding! If you value customer service and excellent dining, this is a great place to stay! The yoga, hiking, and spa treatments were also lovely and well enjoyed.

Great yoga class to start our day and then a wonderful massage by Floyd topped off by some great food for lunch and high tea. Throughout the day we experienced good service from a very friendly staff.

Really enjoyed the day spa package. Aromatherapy massage was sooo relaxing. The lunch was delicious - highly recommend the Buddha bowl and spicy paneer. At high tea I enjoyed what was probably the best scone of my life. The staff were highly professional and friendly. I will definitely be coming back!

Incredibly disappointed with our experience at the restaurant. First they charged our credit card 350.00 without permission when we made the reservation. Then when we were there, I ordered a non alcoholic mocktail for very important reasons. My drink came and I could tell it had alcohol, I asked the waitress who told me it did not. Then 5 minutes later she came back and told me it did. I get mistakes but this was a huge on and the manager came over and instead of apologizing, she rudely attempted to defend and justify such an error. Will never recommend or dine there again.

Stayed over night with my mom and sister and we had a great time! I did the reflexology and essential deep cleansing and both treatments were amazing. The staff is so friendly, the food is delicious, I would highly recommend coming here:)

They promised one price on the phone of 165+ hst per person and I was charged way more than that. When I called to ask about the charge overage they said “oh that’s a service fee - it’s part of the HST” which is absolutely not true. Hst is 13% and they charged 26%. Were also could not access the building for the appointments, we tried to come in to speak to someone and the driveway was un-enterable and not shoveled.

Wonderful ambience, small spa, lots of quality attention to detail. Flavours of India throughout, including therapies and the food menus. Lunch was delightfully delicious and high tea was exceptional. Very conscientious with allergies. Suggest you bring your own footwear. Would go again.

We came for a girls night out. We had an amazing stay. The high tea and all meals were delicious! Spa treatments were awesome and all staff members were so helpful and kind. We will be back!

What a lovely, relaxing weekend I just had at Northumberland Heights Spa. I had heard from a couple of friends that the Ayurvedic treatments were excellent and they were right! Although I live close by, having moved from Toronto a few years ago, I had not visited yet because, after all, I live in this beautiful area. I didn’t realize I could visit the spa for a la carte treatments or meals. Not only will I be back for more spa treatments but for the beautifully prepared food as well. Chef Luke takes great care and offers a varied international menu. All in all a wonderful experience.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Northumberland. The premises were calm and clean, services were wonderful and food was delicious. We highly recommend this spa for a relaxing day out.

What a hidden gem of a retreat and spa!
From the very beginning the experience was great. I booked a 2 night, 3 day spa experience for myself and friend and we enjoyed everything. The spa treatments we had were so relaxing and beautifully executed. Andrea you have healing hands. Marie Lou was an amazing hostess. She made sure we were always taken care of and made us feel at home and cared for. Chef Luke is a master at his craft! His menu everyday was so delicious and well plated - always had an artistic feel to it. Thank you Bailey for making sure our dining experience was not only fun but hospitable. The retreat has so many nice relaxing amenities that serve the purpose of relaxation. From walking trails to outdoor Jacuzzis, this establishment was and is a place that makes you feel serene and happy. I will definitely be coming back here. Thank you all again. And a special thanks to Marie Lou for making us feel like we were not just visitors but we'll taken care of guests. Xoxo

The retreat lies on a hill 70 meters above Lake Ontario which makes the view very enjoyable!
You are greeted by Mary Louie in the beginning. Her smile and energy creates a peaceful environment from the get-go. They have a variety of activities such as yoga classes, outdoor hot tubs, and therapeutic massages.

Their scent and cleanness is of the highest quality!

I highly recommend a weekend there.

I spent the day at NorthHumberLand.
Their teas are made to perfection, I took the Aromatherapy Bliss massage for 60 Minutes and my masseuse Kaitlin was amazing and knew what she was doing! Also the retreat is 5 minutes away from a Lake Ontario beach if you visit in the summer time. The resort has a sauna room as well. The view from the patio attached to the dining hall is just relaxing and beautiful!
It’s buffet hall and the beautiful landscape is perfect for a wedding or birthday parties!

Had an amazing experience at NH. Booked a girls weekend stay to relax and rejuvenate. Everything was top notch from food to spa services. Chef Luke and Bailey always made our meals so enjoyable, delicious food and high quality presentation. Even sat through one of the cooking classes and learned a thing or two about sharpening knives. The staff went above and beyond and we are incredibly thankful to Mary Lou for her always cheerful demeanor.

Best reflexology treatment I've ever had! I've been to many spa and love to be pampered. Northumberland was wonderful.
We spend one night here with my sister. We should have spent two.

The place was clean. Very friendly staff. Welcome drinks were really good. Overall a very peaceful stay. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

The first visit I had was amazing! Maybe because it wasn't such a busy time or maybe it was the people that were attending to me. The second time wasn't as good. If the second time was my first visit I wouldn't be considering visiting again. I had a massage and didn't find the therapist did a good job, the first visit I had was amazing. It could be the fact that services have been open to full capacity now. Just wanted to point out the difference with my two experiences.

We enjoyed a package deal including an overnight stay, spa experience, dinner, high tea and breakfast.
Everything was amazing! The room was large and pristine, the spa treatment was relaxing and we can’t say enough about the food. All our meals were delicious!
We absolutely recommend and cannot wait to return!

The location is very nice, surrounded by nature with a beautiful view of the lake. We had a massage and it was very relaxing.
The reason that I am giving it a three stars is because our bathroom was very dirty. The floor around the toilet had yellow stains, the back of the toilet where the toilet seat attaches was very dirty as well. The worst part was the shower. There was a left over razor cap and lots of hair. We let the front desk know but all they said is that they would take a note and let the cleaners know.
They may have accidentally forgotten to clean the bathroom as the rest of the spa seemed very clean.

This was an amazing experience from beginning to end! We surprised our friend with a Aromatherapy Bliss (for her Birthday). Meanwhile waiting on the property we hiked around the trails. Management was really proactive in giving us a tour of the place, although we were just there for our friend and not having any treatments. Surely coming next time as a Guest myself.

Booked myself at day at the spa and what a day it was. I loved every minute of it! The entire spa was mine for the day, I felt like a queen. Started the day with a light breakfast, then had a one on one yoga session. After that I enjoyed a scrub treatment immediately followed by a body wrap. For lunch, I was offered all the food that had been prepared to taste test as the kitchen staff were selecting new choices to add to the menu. Everything was delicious! After lunch, I had a relaxing massage and facial. I spent time soaking in the hot tub and really enjoyed spoiling myself! Thank you for a wonderful day!

My husband and I came for the weekend and stayed two nights. This place has potential to be on par with the other big spa in the area. The food, room and spa services were wonderful. The chef is fantastic and you can tell he really cares about the food and service. Every meal we had was great. I also listened to him discuss allergies and concerns with other guests and he was so kind and thorough.

My only complaint is there really isn’t much to do. Other spas in the area have gyms, water therapy pools and other amenities. During our stay the only things available were a yoga class and the hot tubs which close way too early. Ste Anne’s keeps their amenities open until 10: 30pm but the hot tubs here close at 7. They need to be open until 9pm. I totally understand that Covid restrictions have closed the sauna and steam room and I’m assuming staffing concerns have cancelled the cooking class.

Overall we had a wonderful time and would likely return. The staff they have work so hard and it’s very clear that once everything fully reopens and they’re back to running with a full staff it will be a 5/5.

Relaxing spa setting. Not likely to blow your mind, but for somewhere just outside the GTA, it is a good value and easy-going place. No fridge in the room makes bringing some drinks and food a little tricky, but otherwise the rooms were fairly clean and reasonably well-appointed

My mom and I went to Northumberland spa for a weekend retreat and had a wonderful time. With very relaxing treatments, delicious food and an all around welcoming atmosphere, I can’t wait to come back and explore all the hiking trails in the warmer weather.

Mary Lou provided a wonderful, informative start to our one night spa experience with a tour and a robe. She made sure we were set up to follow Covid protocols. We enjoyed several excellent spa services, high tea, supper and breakfast, all very delicious and with great care taken to keep to our celiac diets. The spa is set in an area that allows you to escape your worries! Soak in the hot tub and enjoy!

Food was great. I had Reflexology and a Hot Stone Massage. Both therapists were amazing. Very accommodating and helpful staff!
