Occasionally have had great experience but the majority of the time, nurses are dismissive, rude and downright mean. I’ve been told that I was “enabling” someone because I brought them to ER when they were having a mental breakdown.
This hospital brings me major anxiety because of the mistreatment I have witnessed.
I will never willingly go to this hospital myself. Would have to be unconscious or dead. Otherwise, I would rather drive the 15-20 minutes to Port Perry.
I took my 1.5 year old daughter to the ER and they were exceptional. Reassured me I was in the right spot (thought I should have waited for my doctors after hours clinic after I couldn’t get an apt). They took her in immediately and it was all hands on deck. They were gentle, caring - follow up was frequent keeping me in the loop every step of the way. They were just wonderful - thank you so much!
Brought my son there on Saturday after he had been dealing with abdominal pains for over a week. All the doctor did was palate his stomach and say it was not his appendix and probably just viral and to use a laxative to help with bowel movements when he's feeling better. Sunday comes and he's in worse pain, I ended up taking him to markham where they did an xray and found that he was completely impacted. They also gave him medication for nausea and referred to a clinic to help with gastro issues. I'm so disappointed in my local hospital. My son was in so much pain, hadn't slept in a week, not really eating or drinking and all they could say was it's viral. Never again will I go there.
