Oakville Pediatrics-Pediatric Urgent Care

I have been here multiple times for urgent care when our paediatrician is unavailable, for my son who is disabled and most recently with my infant daughter. The doctors are quick and efficient and so far the diagnoses have been accurate. The pharmacy is in the same clinic as well which is a big help. The clinic is busy as expected from an urgent care clinic but the text system works well. You must register in person and receive a text 10 mins before your appointment, you may wait in the car for a shorter wait, however for a longer wait time you can choose to go home and return. One thing that can be done to further improve this text system is patients can text first and an average wait time for that day can be provided, they can then decide to come in person and register. Since it is a paediatric clinic this change would make a big difference to parents, for instance: if they know the wait time is long such as 2 hours they can come without the the child, quickly register, go home and then bring child when the Dr is ready to see them.
Being an HCP I appreciate the hardwork of the staff and doctors, and that a paediatric urgent care clinic like this exists in our area, because otherwise our only option would be ER.

I took my 11 year old stepson here. The service was quick and professional. The doctor was super friendly with my son and really made him feel comfortable. He was thorough in his examination and explained the illness clearly.

Horrible receptions, receptions on SundayJune11, don’t know her name she is super rude, rude, rude! She was not taking patient as they walked in all messed around!

This clinic is absolutely atrocious. They only answer between 12noon-2pm and once you call at noon they direct you to TEXT them. You have to hound them for results. There is zero organization. I would wait in line at OTMH before coming back here.

We have used this clinic for our 3 boys for quiet a few years now and have always been happy with the service and care we received. We've always found that the wait times are not bad at all.

Excellent service, short wait time, great administration staff. The Pediatrician that saw our child took the time to assess and then explain things to us in a clear & concise manner, even answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend and would continue to use this service.

The doctor at 2 p.m. On April 20 was very patient and meticulous. I don't remember his name, but thank him very much! My kid is willing to listen to his advice and now she is cured.

So embarrassing that they highly insist on cash payments no matter the conditions of the kid! We went there and left without getting the care for my daughter since we didn’t have any cash with us!

It's so reassuring to have a place close by that we can turn to when our baby's regular doctor isn't available. The team here is great and very considerate- all the doctors are so thorough and efficient.

Terrible doctor. We have been here twice and although this is a paediatric clinic, the doctor has zero patience when the child is crying. Brushes quickly through the examination to say nothing is wrong and the same evening we went to the emergency and they found an ear infection.

Horrible wait time for no valid reason. Doctors are in clinic, not seeing patients. Me and my baby were first people to arrive to the clinic and we waited 2 hours before they admitted us.

Horrible clinic. I have been here twice and have ended up going to the emergency soon after. Doesn’t have any patience with kids nor listen to all the symptoms. Spends less than 5 mins on a patient to say nothing is wrong every single time. Wait time is usually like 1.5 hours with no proper care.

Great service and very helpful. We love Dr Philip. Extremely packed and busy all the time but no fault of theirs. They are very accommodating and try their best.

Our family doctor was away so had to come here. Very bad experience visiting this place for my 5 year old. We suspected something wrong and went here to check as my kid was having fever on and off. They sent us back home and said nothing to worry. Next day my kid has 40c fever and we ran to emergency in the middle of the night. She got diagnosed with pneumonia! Again after 5 days my daughter complains of body pain. We go here again and they send us back home again saying all good. Then our family doctor gets back and we go to get my kid checked. Turns out the pneumonia is still there but has spread to the other side. I don’t know if they really have doctors at this place. Never going back again. Would give a zero star if there was an option.

Disgusted. Price gouged me $23 for 24ml of pediatric advil.more than double the regular price. Granted there's a supply shortage, i just expected more from a pharmacy. Will never be back.

I have only had good experiences with this clinic and their virtual appointments as well. Very convenient to sometimes be helped over the phone and not have to drive all the way there with 2 sick little ones. I found the Drs to be quite helpful and knowledgeable. They put my mind at ease when my kids are sick.

The reception is so so so so rude! We have been here for few times, but this is the first time the reception refused to accept us and said "you can go to the next family doctor beside us if you want! " this is a WALK-IN Clinic!

Very rude and unsympathetic front desk!

I've visited this clinic a few times before, was OK experience. But recent visit was a shock! The first time I met somebody dealing with children (in school, clinic, kids programs, even with strangers) being so rude!

Waited for 90 minutes to see the doctor, not pleasant but understandable. I was told to wait outside after registration, we did, in the hot day, my kid waited outside while more and more people going inside to sit down and wait, in the air conditioning room. When I went back to ask the expected waiting time after waited for over one hour, I was told to wait outside or go to hospital if I don't want to wait. I couldn't believe what I heard!

After meeting doctor for a few minutes, doctor was called out and never came back, BEFORE she finished our checking! I needed to talk to the front desk lady for instructions and questions. Not mention she's in a mood to finish everything.

Will never visit this clinic!

Rude front desk. The website says open at 9 and the sign outside the door says 9: 30. I told them how this could be confusing and they said that’s the pharmacy sign not theirs. Even though it’s right in front of their window. Very rude.

Walk-ins have always been an unpleasant experience - but this centre is different, and is our go-to more so than our own family doctor, as they're harder to get a hold of. From the Receptionist to the pediatricians, we always walk away with a pleasant experience. Super friendly.and as a parent to tiny toddler - it's so helpful to have a walk-in that offers service via phone or text to keep you in the loop with wait times. Staff is accommodating and sensitive to your situations given you're coming in with a sick bub. Pediatricians are attentive and we don't feel rushed.

Dr Mansour is the best Peditrcian ever he is intelligent always fix the problem not like other doctors!

The pead here is terrible. He doesn't do a proper clinical assessment when we took our son who has been having a bad cough. Been there twice and shocked by this doctor assessment, knowledge or calibre. Don't water your time by going there.

Dr. Mansour is very unprofessional and always in rush. He doesn't give time to his patients and he prescribe antibiotics without the need for it. He examined my son and he barely looked inside his ears and said he had ear infection (while my son had a regular cold. Cough and runny nose) and he directly put him on an antibiotic course for 10 days! My son didn't even have fever!
Dr. Philips is the best but her appointments are very limited.

I definetly gonna look for another clinic for my kids.

Horrible bedside manners and inability to book subsequent appointments. Was told doctor wasn’t available for months and to do walk in and for walk-in had to call week of for date and then day of for time the doctor came in and then then the doctor showed up 1.5hrs after we were told he’d be in. Horrible service

New mom, brought my 8 week old in. Saw Dr Ayesha Phillip who was very personable. She asked questions and did not rush through the appointment. Her bedside manner alone made the 1 hour wait time worth it.

This review is long overdue as I last met with the doctor months ago. I've actually visited this clinic on a few occasions, each time with a new Ped.
Our visit with Dr. Phillips who refered my children to a child psychiatrist was very comforting as I explained our situation & I didn't get the usual sense of "okay, I'm going to throw any method of "care" your way. Do with it as you please" leaving me with more questions than answers. Nope. She was thorough, patient & genuinely concerned, leaving me with a feeling of reassurance & finally an avenue to take that could possibly help with the challenges my children are facing, once & for all. Much unlike the "results" or lack thereof that we recieve from others including our very own Family physician at times.

I will be inquiring to see if she is accepting patience soon, as I would love & feel comfortable with her as my children's pediatrician *Crosses fingers*

As for the other Peds that have examined my children at this clinic, I've had no issues with either of them. I respect the genuine care that each of these Doc's display in such a fast paced environment.

I had to come back & make this review. It's important to acknowledge quality efforts as I am sure that I am not the only one who has noticed the extreme decline in care that most doctors have these days, honestly. It's not only sad, it's also quite scary. When our health is important enough for us & to take the time out to see if anything is wrong, & then to meet with a doctor who clearly does not want to be where they are or catching them on an "off day" (which I can't say that I do not understand with the loads they carry) but still.with that being said. I'm sure every doctor has their load -who doesn't- I'm just grateful for them all.
But I had to give respect where it's due.

Thank you to these peds for keeping it together & staying positive, reassuring & with the genuine care that you do.

Brought my 3 week old here today and was seen promptly. We saw dr. Phillips and she was amazing. Listened to everything I said and was very thorough.

I brought my 2 years old son to this clinic because my family doctor (from a different clinic) wanted a second opinion. We saw Dr Paul Dempsey, he was kind, patient, explained many details and defined next steps. Very professional. On the other hand, when we arrived to the clinic I realized my son’s OHIP was expired, the receptionist proactively phoned a Service Ontario office to review options for me to fix the situation. Overall my experience in this clinic was really good.

The Dr.was amazing and receptionist very organized. She was very thorough, patient and gave great advice that helped my son. Very grateful for them at a time in need. Highly recommend!

The.worst.place.to.take.your.kids. EVER.
My 7 month old daughter developed congestion and runny nose while they were travelling back to Toronto from a family visit to US. While on the flight my daughter developed some fever for which my wife gave her Tylenol. When they got back home there was an inset of fever again. Because our family doctor was away we decided to take our daughter to this place.

When we got there the doctor took 3 minutes to look at her, ordered an x-ray and gave her ventrolin to get her airways open and told us to control the fever using Tylenol. We went back home started doing the puffs as directed and my daughter became extremely jittery and her heartbeat went up while breathing became erratic. What we found out later was the doctor had prescribed twice (2x) the safe dosage for children.

We cut her dosage to 2 every 4 hours instead of the 4 every 4 hours as he had prescribed. After this we went back to the doctor a day later telling him the fever was still climbing every 4 hours after the Tylenol to 39.6-39.8. He was like yeah that's okay just keep doing what you are doing.

On day 4 we went back but this time to the second doctor that is at this slaughter house. She said keep doing what you are doing and nothing to worry even after we kept asking her what about the fever? Isn't it a sign of infection? Plus she is throwing up and she is having tummy problems. Her genius response " so what type of bacteria do you think she has? " I mean seriously? Who is the doctor? Apparently none of us.

Day 5 we kept battling her fever throughout the night and finally had enough and took her to our family doctor. She said to take our daughter to sick kids which we did later the same day.

At sick kids they ran blood tests, urine tests, ultrasounds and X-ray again. Result: she had pnumonia, with lung inflammation and UTI. They said no infection is ever going to surface in any x-ray before 24-48 hours. And the doctor who ordered this was absolutely wrong and that would be a mistake as x-rays taken within 24 hours will never show up anything.

So in short, if you love your child, want them to be healthy and happy, don't go to this place with quacks.

Relatively long wait time. Often the receptionist (one of the many) is very very rude. Type: she is the one who runs the world. I registered and was told 6 patients ahead of me. One hour later, was told 5 patients ahead of me and to go wait in my car.
Parking: limited small plaza.
Pharmacy attached: over counter medication may be cheaper at departmental stores.
Doctor's diagnosis: eczema. 2 weeks later brought my son to dermatologist: it was foot and mouth.
Verdict: 1/5

Terrible experience. When I arrived the receptionist told me the wait is around 20 mins- my child had a fever of 40. They checked her fever the thermometer read 36.9 and then 37.3 and I said there is no way she feels hot she checked again and it was 39.7! Seriously they don’t have a proper thermometer? I kept waiting. Finally, 1 hour 45 mins later they lead us to the room.the garbage was over flowing on to the floor with dirty tissues etc! The doctor wasn’t able to give us a diagnosis. The doctor dropped the first swab on the floor. She stuffed it into the garbage with her bare hands and redid the swan without sanitizing her hands so whatever germs she picked up from the over flowing garbage went into my child’s mouth! Total waste of time!

I visited the clinic today and it was very good. Friendly staff, short wait and good doctor. I always bring my kids to this walk in clinic

You can complain to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). A complaint can lead to an investigation of the professional's conduct.

Doctors are overall really nice.
But the receptionist is awful!
No toys in the waiting room.
Wait time is long.
Not easy with a toddler.

I went there 2 days in a row my son had a cough the first day they prescribed him a medication I told them I was under Ohip they told me no this medication is not covered before even making it. The second day they prescribed me the same medication, since I was already frustrated by them because I was there for 3 hours, they were passing people arriving after me before I decided to not support their business and went to shoppers for the medication. While at shoppers they told me it was free so the clinic rip me off of 60$. I would never go back and would not recommend this place. Was a one time medication

Hit and Miss here.
The receptionist is nice 2/3's of the time. If you catch her on a good day then all is well, but the other times make it unwelcoming to be here.

Same with the doctors. The older doctors have a lot more compassion and care, but each of the younger ones just seem to want to take in as many patients as possible and then kick you out without a proper diagnosis.

Wait times on average are about 30-45 minutes whenever I've been

I took my 5 week old baby there this morning with an eye infection. I saw Dr. Mkondo who confirmed that my daughter needed a prescription for eye drops, which he wrote. When I went to fill the prescription, the pharmacist informed me that the medication he prescribed is not safe for use in infants under 2 months old. She had to contact him to change the prescription to be safe for newborns. I found it disturbing that a pediatrician would make that error - what if the pharmacist hadn't caught the mistake?

Drs with the Worst bedside manner and unprofessional. My daughter had a fever and ordered a requisition to go straight to the hospital to run a full diagnostic on blood, urine and X-ray. Hospital took one look at her and found it to be unnecessary and gave her antibiotics. This was my third time there and I don’t know why I ever went back as all experiences were unprofessional.

Called specifically to see if available and if busy - website said open till 8pm - receptionist said there is no one here and they accept till 7: 30 - got here at 7: 10 and say sorry not taking patients - asked why - say doctor just came out and said he doesn’t want to see anyone else - he doesn’t feel like it - drove all they way for 25 mins with sick 4 year old- met other parents with same experience - no compassion and they call them self “pedriations URGENT CARE” DO NOT GO HERE

Dr Mkondo is a very unprofessional and rude doctor. Doesn't communicate properly with patients or the staff for that matter and wants to get out of the appointment as soon as he can. I agree with the below reviewer about him. I suggest to call in advance to see which doctor is on duty. And if its him better to avoid him at all costs.

Dr Mkondo, Allen Samuel Arhen is the most Unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered in my life. He is rude to his staff, his patients and he doesn’t know how to diagnose an simple viral infection. Instead he prescribed antibiotics (which are free) along with probiotics (which are not) to be filled by the pharmacy he is attached to. The whole process felt like a scam. He then left me thinking my son was going to die; so if course I spent three hours at the ER, only to find out my son has nothing more than a virus. Doctors who push antibiotics on toddlers without reason should lose their ability to care for such vulnerable members of society. This is how children become even more sick. I’m disgusted with the fact, he was more concerned about his “dinner getting cold”. He mentioned it twice to both his secretary when she mentioned he had one last patient; and again to me. I will never go here again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Never been to this clinic before but was forced to as my son needed urgent care. Staff was accomodating and my son received the treatment needed within 30 minutes of walking into the clinic.

I am very grateful for this Clinic and have visited it a few times. The wait times are reasonable considering it is busy and the doctor works out of two rooms. I have seen two different doctors and both of them are genuinely caring, warm, professional, thorough and accurate when other clinics have not been. They also take the time to listen to all your concerns and address each one. Thank you today to Dr. Mohammed for helping us finally figure out what has been wrong with our son.

Very impressed and happy with the service I received. Like any medical facility I attend, I call first before visiting to ensure that someone will be available (within a 1/2 hour to an hour). I called af 6: 50pm and was advised that the last patient is registered in at 7: 30, and the waiting room was currently empty.
I got my daughter who presented with a fever of 103, and got there as fast as I could, arriving at 7: 30 exactly. The receptionist/nurse was friendly and spoke nicely with my I’ll child.
The doctor was great, explained every he was checking to my child.
For my first tome my experience was pleasant, and I would definitely revisit at another time.
My only complaint is that the rooms are a bit tight, or the room we were in, but the care was fantastic.

First of all let me say that the doctor was good (but a bit unorganized). The receptionist cum nurse is the rudest person I have ever seen. If you cant pronounce someone's name, at least try. She was spelling out the names of people with different backgrounds- I found that offensive.kids are not BBCCDD. Try pronouncing and apologize if you are pronouncing incorrectly! To another parent of twins she said "Lets go look at the cute one first" (are you serious!).
The place needs cleaning, hire more nurses please. Parents with sick kids are already tensed and the long wait time, lack of courtesy and cleanliness makes it worth not visiting.

Went there today with my 9 months old daughter. I arrived at 2: 11pm, there is a note saying lunch break is over at 2: 15.was registered promptly and I was impressed.way too early! The doctor who was there, I'm assuming for the morning shift, left shortly after 2: 15 without seeing any kids from the registration sheet (as far as I could tell and I was #2 on the list) and we were told a dr is on its way and will be there shortly.the waiting room was full of feverish and sick kids and at 3: 20 there was still no sign of the doctor! Wow.can't comment on how good the pediatricians there are because I left. I was beyond frustrated with how unprofessional this place is.
