Slow and inexperienced nurses. At least they were kind and compassionate which was worth 3 stars.
12 November 2023 20:31
Came in at 12 am, was told 4 hours wait. Which is fine. After 7 hours of wait, tried to follow up… apparently there’s no doctor after 3 am? You will be seen the next shift in the morning. There is NO DOCTOR IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT! So why accept patients if there is no doctor? Why not be upfront to patients there is no doctor so patient can decide if they want to stay.
19 October 2023 15:19
I didn’t go into emergency for anything severe, but was still out in about two hours on a Sunday night. I’m shocked that I was taken care of so quickly, which can only be a testament to the folks at Trafalgar Memorial (since, as we all know, healthcare is being brutally underfunded right now—please remember this at the polls). All staff I interacted with were brilliant; special thanks to the second triage nurse I spoke to, who was so, so friendly, and the doctor I saw—Dr. Welters, I think? —for her sense of humour. It probably takes massive strength of character to be so upbeat during a night in the emergency room. Flowers.
17 October 2023 10:44
Went into Emergency this morning and was very impressed with quick triage. Dr. Stefanic was excellent. Took time to explain results and has a wonderful bedside manner. Thanks!
09 October 2023 6:18
My son was sick and was brought here from Georgetown Hosptial. I forgot the nurse name that let me sleep as I was exhausted from being worried about my baby. I appreciate the staff and the nurses who care for me and my son and will never forget there care and effort thank you so much he’s much better
05 October 2023 16:49
Nice fancy building but no doctors to fill it with. 6.5 hours in "emergency" over night for a toddler to see a doctor. Never got to see a doctor and left for a walk-on clinic. A SINGLE doctor on duty for an entire hospital emergency night shift. F. U. C. K. This non-existent "healthcare"

Please do NOT respond by saying to reach out to your patient services or whatever.i came there for a child's healthcare which did NOT take place and do NOT care to speak to your staff that does NOTHING for me at this point. Staff your hospital with doctors instead.
26 September 2023 9:15
Mental health staff is absolutely ridiculous, I went there after trying to end my life and all there were screaming and shouting. Instead of trying to help the staff shouted at me telling me to “be quiet” and “your being dramatic” especially in the wards. The kids were crying and all the staff did was ignore us. They treated us like we were crazy and out of control but all we needed was self respect. Please NEVER come to this hospital.
22 September 2023 3:57
I was hesitant on writing this review as I stayed as an inpatient at the psych ward this summer and thought that maybe because of that, my review wouldnt be taken seriously. Im deciding to post today because I think that everyone should be aware at what happens here and how staff treats their patients. Upon arrival at the ward, staff checks your bag for anything that could be harmful before giving you your stuff. I had $40.00 cash with my belongings that was STOLEN by staff. I only noticed at discharge. My parents spoke to staff and we were told they would be launching an investigation into it. It’s been three months and I have not received a call back. It is absolutely disgusting and frightening that staff here would steal from patients at a time that they are in need. I dont care about the money, I have already accepted that that money is gone, but it’s about the principle. If they stole cash from me, how many other things are they stealing from patients? Additionally, staff is extremely neglectful and lack the basic human characteristic of empathy, despite their field. I informed them about my dietary restrictions which took them two whole days to accommodate. I was forced to eat a non vegan diet (despite being vegan for over 7 yrs) or starve for those two days. Also, during my stay, there was a patient who had badly hurt her hand (her whole hand was extremely swollen and looked broken) and she was refused medical attention for over 12 hours. This baffled me considering we were literally IN a hospital. Another patient required polygrip for her dentures in order to eat and speak properly. She hassled staff for hours and hours and only was provided it the day after. Aside from all this that I witnessed, in general, staff just straight out ignore you. You can stand in front of the staff station trying to get their attention and they will look at you, look away, and continue whatever the hell they were talking about. Patients had to beg for attention from staff basically. Its really dehumanizing. They dont care about your needs here. The ward just made you feel crazy because of how the staff treat you. You wont be treated as a patient in need of care, youll be treated as an inmate who committed a horrible crime.

The ER is a joke, with 24 hours of waiting. Which i understand is a country wide issue. Other than that the hospital is well kept
16 August 2023 18:57
When u come with high fever 103 they make u wait for 9 hours to see a doctor superviser told they have only one duty doctors who is covering different zone in emergency department and there was no doctor between 3-4 am in zone c
If hospitals doesn’t have doctor they should had over blood work report to patients so patients can show any walk in clinic and get there medication instead of waiting for hours
08 July 2023 20:53
Despite suffering from excruciating abdominal pain and displaying clear symptoms of a gastric or intestinal ulcer for over three agonizing weeks, I was denied registration and accessing the ER. The triage nurse considered my condition as non-urgent and told me to visit a walk-in clinic for more medications without doing any test.
03 July 2023 19:48
3 of our 4 children were born here and we absolutely love the staff. Most specifically, the team in the NICU went above and beyond our expectations. It takes a special kind of person to work in the NICU and Oakville selected the best. In times of unbearable stress the NICU staff gave us some much needed comfort. We thank you all very much for what you do!

27/04/2023
My husband just went there because my daughter was throwing up a lot and after waiting for 4 hours their staff told him he would probably wait for more 4 hours besides, in a rude way: “you didn’t even wait 4 hours”. Therefore they suggested 8 hours of waiting at night with my 7 years old daughter constantly vomiting? This is absurd.

Update 28/04/2023
Today, a day after, my husband needed to comeback because our family doctor was suspecting of appendicitis. My daughter doesn’t eat for 30hours, and after vomiting for so long (more than one day) she looks dehydrated, tired, visibly weakened. What they do? Nothing. She is waiting for more than 7 hours at emergency TODAY and the staff didn’t give her even a serum in vein. That’s insane! They (daughter and husband) are still there, and counting… She threw up again and the nurse told him to don’t give her water anymore. WHAT? They don't move and suggest that she remains dehydrated? This can’t be real.

Update 29
It was not apendicites, it was viroses. Probably norovirus. My daughter threw up for more than 30 times, stayed for many hours in the hospital visually dehydrated, and they didn’t give her serum in vein any time. We asked for and nothing was done. But it get worse! When the doctor examined her he told my husband she was vomiting because she was not hydrated, and said he wouldn’t give any anti-vomiting medication. HOW my kid could get hydrated if she was vomiting even water without medication? MAGIC? After a discussion (my husband and doctor) he gave a medication to her, but no prescription. HOW she would get better with only one medication and without prescription for more? So after ANOTHER discussion, and thanks to my husband, he decided to give another additional medication to give her after 8 hours at home. That’s insane. If it was not my husband they (my husband and daughter) would had waste their time (more than 15 hours) at the hospital FOR NOTHING).

If your kid is sick, DON’T go there.
That’s my major tip!

Thank you and a thousand thanks and greetings to all the staff of this hospital and the great edifice for their efforts, sacrifices and fatigue to save the lives of hundreds and thousands of patients, and thanks to all the doctors, especially the doctor. Arash Mark Irani. For what he provides to his patients in terms of advice, treatment and love. Thank you to the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada for all this giving. We swear to remain loving and loyal to this great country and sacrifice our lives for it.the patient, Emad Hirmiz
19 February 2023 0:23
Worst hospital ever. Rude staffs, some nurses have no idea what's going on. You won't get proper consultation from doctors. Staffs, nurses and doctors have 0 empathy. In my family case, we had to go to the ER for 5 days in a row and until 5th day visit couldn't get proper care. After the hospital experience, we went abroad for better treatment.
12 February 2023 4:43
I understand the hospital staff has one of the hardest jobs in the world… but i don’t know how you can turn someone away who came in for mental health reasons.it made me feel worse.i didn’t “meet criteria” for them to help me.it made me feel like my problems weren’t enough to receive help for.they won’t help you unless you’re actively in a psychotic episode.on top of that, i wasn’t given any resources just a black and white pamphlet and she told me to go to my family doctor and get a referral.that will take months, and i can’t even get an appointment until February. I think the mental health system is completely flawed but there are work arounds and this hospital doesn’t even try.
07 February 2023 16:43
Building is good, staff is nice. They have a lot of nurses but hardly any Dr in ER. That means wait time of at least 5 hrs to see a Dr. Can you imagine a hospital without a Dr?
28 January 2023 3:35
After almost 25 years in Canada I do not know when can we have a good ratio of patients to doctors or nurses.
Always understaffed and told wait hours painfully before any doctors can discuss results. Really very frustrated
21 January 2023 13:30
Practices discrimination based on postal code for aspects of their hospitals programs. Violating the Canadian Health Acts laws,
"The principle of universality of the Canada Health Act requires that all residents of a province or territory be entitled, on UNIFORM TERMS and conditions, to the publicly funded health services covered by provincial/territorial plans. "
Being funded by OHIP this hospital denying care is illegal.
30 December 2022 7:50
That was absolutely absurd they hospital should be burnt down it deserves a zero star the nurse was horrible abusive threat me with injections and medication she said I was acting ATYPICAL when all i did was scream but it was a short time and for having anxiety I kept it inside I was quiet but still insists on giving me medication forcefully she did not listen to me or take me seriously
27 December 2022 6:15
Worst hospital! 2nd visit in 2 weeks. 8hrs the first time and nothing. 14hrs in hospital this time sitting in a chair after being told they will be admitting me.so now 5 1/2hrs later after admitting came to talk to me still sitting in a chair. Nurses are absolutely no help either. Thanks OTMH!
23 December 2022 12:20
The emergency waiting areas is over crowded, patients have to sit in the hallway, one of the staff said Out loud infront of everyone " Well if there is no more chairs for patients then non patients should get up and give their seats to patients" so if someone is accompanying a patinet, their going to be standing for hours? , it's the hospital's responsibility to have a large room and enough chairs for everyone, pretty sure they can afford buying more chairs. Waited 7 hours to see the doctor to be told the ultrasound department is closed Overnight The nurses knew the doctor would recommend an ultrasound and should have told me 7 hours earlier that the ultrasound department would be closed by the time I see the doctor.
21 December 2022 15:00
We had the most amazing care from the staff in the emergency room and on 5 south. Kindness, professionalism, thoroughness, compassion from the nurses, doctors, custodians, parking, food court - everyone! We are so grateful for the top-notch care we received for my Dad. Although my Dad has passed on and is now in heaven, we could not have had a better experience in a hospital in his last days. The medical care was second to none! Thank you OTMH!
16 December 2022 14:58
Very modern and clean building and rooms. Lots of services in one area so it is convenient. If you are admitted they have excellent food choices compared to other hospitals.
10 December 2022 9:12
All of them busy on their phone and chatting each other’s… waiting period for almost 6 hours and nothing happen… you gonna die here if you visit the emergency department… terrible hospital ….
08 October 2022 1:51
My experience at OTMH for a routine surgery was flawless, positive and caring. Despite the overwhelming stress hospital staff particularly nurses are facing, (the PC government needs to repeal law 124) the receptionists, volunteers, Dr. 's and especially all the nurses involved were professional, attentive and well organized. The fact that I was able to even have the surgery is amazing (as many surgeries are delayed) and that everything went smoothly (there was a slight delay in surgery time which a Dr.acknowledged) but all things considered, a five star review is in order. The TLC demonstrated by the nursing staff was impressive to say the least. Thank you to all the staff in the surgery department as I was well taken care of.
27 September 2022 8:25
Understanding how free healthcare system works. We came to emergency at midnight as our baby was crying relentlessly for hours, waited till morning and left untreated as there was no doctor in emergency care and the front/nursing staff was not clear when the doctor would attend. What kind of Hospital is this?
25 September 2022 1:53
I can't say enough good things about both my experiences at this hospital (one still currently).

Everyone in the hospital was courteous, professional and helpful. There's Staff all over to help guide you if you get lost. The ladies at the front desk in the ER were absolutely amazing and accommodated specific requests that they didn't have to accomodate. Even the younger Fellas at the front door of the ER were excellent. The hospital is squeaky clean, not crowded and structured well. Their washrooms were very clean too. The Doctors do their best & we felt that only one if many wasn't up to par.

It would be real easy to base your review on long wait times (I was there 12 hrs the other day), some overwhelmed Staff, etc.but the truth is that we are only Human. Imagine being forced to work OT when u would rather spend time with your family, right? Imagine having to see 100's of Patients daily and just having conflict ready to be smacked in your face at any given moment. Imo, majority do the best they can with the options & time available and I can truly say that despite the obvious? We appreciated how we were treated and how things went.

Nothing is ever perfect, especially during a pandemic, while dealing with a Premier that just doesn't want to listen.

Thanks everyone at Oakville Trafalgar
23 September 2022 1:39
I received amazing care from the staff at this hospital when I had a knee procedure done recently. My surgeon Dr Matthies, the nurses and all other wonderful staff made me feel comfortable and looked after. 10 stars!
18 September 2022 18:22
Very sad that after 6 years the BAS ward is just as abusive, neglectful, and ignorant as they were then. You have vaunrable people coming into your care and you have nurses telling them 'if you really wanted to you should have tried harder then' or when being informed that patient hasn't eaten anything is 3 weeks says 'you've got enough fat on you'. No privacy AT ALL, which is disgusting, especially when you're dealing with minors, and forms with people's personal information and why and what they did to get into the ward just lying around in the waiting room. I went wanting a safe place to stay the night because I was severely not well, and was made to sleep on the cold floor still trying to recover from a major upper torso surgery while there was beds vacant for 10 hours. No food. No drink. No blanket. Nothing. Especially when I checked myself in and was not allowed to leave. Nothing but disrespect, attitude, miscommunication, and plain ignorance. People should leave there feeling better, safer, with a sense of stability, not abused and traumatized.
01 September 2022 2:01
If you’re dying or it’s an emergency definitely not the hospital to go for help. My daughter broke out in hives and I was worried and unsure what caused it. Mind you my daughter is 6 months old. We waited for 4 hours just to be told before a doctor would see me a nurse would do an assessment. A nurse during triage assessed her already. Made no sense to me. Than three people who came after me were all seen before me. I was there from 6pm-10: 30pm when I finally decided to leave because truthfully there was nothing the hospital did to help my daughter other than wait around other sick people for hours. This is our healthcare system we are suppose to be so proud about. Just ridiculous and they had the audacity to tell me they’re so busy but have time to sit around making jokes and have casual conversations. I do not recommend this hospital. Overall cleanliness of the hospital was a 1/10 dirty restrooms, people leaving empty drinks by waiting areas. For a hospital so worried about covid it was filthy. Not impressed with my service and my daughter still has hives on her body unresolved.
28 August 2022 18:30
I visited the ER a week ago, the personnel acted with angered (I know they are understaffed but still please be professional). The only kind person was the Dr (male) who treated me as a human being. I just called the ER asking for a copy of my blood tests and the lady who picked up the phone was so unprofessional. So sad to see our healthcare system falling apart. It’s difficult times, I understand…
09 August 2022 3:33
Its worst place to send your mental health patient, it makes them even worse, dont send them there, if they stay with you its much better and safer, very bad experience i had with departmant and doctors and nurses there, they think they are prisoners, i believe no nurses accept to work at that unit department then manager of hospital thought he/she can ask some prisoners to work there and they accepted the offer.
27 February 2022 10:31
Don't get fooled by its fancy looks. This is the worst worst hospital in the whole entire Toronto and GTA. Credit valley is a excellent place to go for emergencies over this trash.
14 February 2022 22:24
Wait time at ER was unreasonable. When we arrived, there was one patient ahead of us. It was 2.5 hours before a doctor saw us and by the end of our visit we had spent over 6 hours in the waiting room. That is not acceptable for people who are feeling ill and in pain.
10 February 2022 4:45
As for the hospital staff nursing I give them a five-star rating awesome Hospital as for a Dr Vivian Ho in cardiology I give her a zero rating this doctor lied to me straight in the face and then had the nerve to deny it in the presence of another doctor has no clue with a difference of passing out seizure or sleeping when you tell somebody you're having a nap and you're deaf and you don't respond to them calling you does not mean you're passed out hello you're deaf you can't hear them.
09 February 2022 0:13
I got my Ceptum Surgery done at this Hospital on Dec 7th (this being a day surgery). I was highly impressed with the professionalism at each and every step right from of registration to Patient outcare to the OT room. The front desk ladies were very cordial. Every nurse who came to attend me before the surgery was extremely nice. Inside the OT, besides my Operating doctor, i had Anesthesian, and 4 nurses. All of them were very caring. Post Surgery, the recovery room was the best. The Nurses there are extremely attentive and caring. The Entire Experience was more than 5 Stars.

Felt like Home!
30 January 2022 9:17
Worst ER service, the nurses were so rude since the beginning, It takes forever to see a doctor here, more the 3 hours waiting and it was no people in the ER, the nurses were doing nothing when you ask them when the doctor going to see you, they got mad, I'm the one sick, I left first, it would take forever to see a doctor and I was so frustrated about their rudeness. I paid my taxes to receive this type of service. Terrible personal, no doctors and rude nurses, no polite or helpful at all
26 January 2022 15:51
Had very bad experience in ER twice once I had to return home at 4am after 4 hours of wait without seeing the doctor because there was hundreds of people waiting and only one doctor was available. The staff was so rude and blunt. Their response was like if you aren’t dying then keep waiting until you do. They have no sympathy or priority for babies.

This time same situation I had to go ER on new year early morning as my lil girl was burning and had fever all night but same thing happened this time as well. A random nurse who has no experience keep coming to check your baby’s temperature and if her fever is down then you will become the least priority no matter what. Nurse Sara was so rude when I asked how long is the wait time as there were only 2-3 people ahead when I came and she said we will prioritize whoever we want
25 January 2022 1:39
Had surgery in December 2021. Entire process was efficient and timely. The nurses in the recovery room and PACH were friendly, responsive and caring. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful facility in Oakville.
24 January 2022 21:37
So thankful for Dr. Lam and all staff.

Dr. Lam has worked on both of my eyes. With Keratoconus in my right eye being too advanced, he performed a corneal transplant.

Just a couple of months ago, he had performed corneal cross linking in my left eye, at Lasik MD located in downtown Toronto.

Both procedures were handled with so much care. I’m just so thankful that people like Dr. Lam are around.

He’s very educated and knowledgeable, but I also appreciate his patience throughout everything. His job is definitely not easy, but it’s truly changed my life for the better.

Thank you for everything!
23 January 2022 20:47
Absolutely the worst experience in the ER, it seems like no one wants to do their job.
Wife is 5 months pregnant had severe abdominal pain and could not sit is seating position, the nurses refused to give us a bed or reclining chair. Staff have so much attitude when you question them on your own health.nurses love to use the doctor and put the blame on them. Didn't know if the porter/transporter couldn't find you, nurse will blame the doctor?

As I read more comments, I see the same B. S prewritten statement by the hospital. Staff needs to be held accountable. I don't know if this was worth writing. When they clearly don't care to do better!
24 December 2021 6:38
Update: Added 1 extra star because the new staff are MUCH better. The ICU staff are great and took great care of my grandma who was having a heart attack. Only reason I am giving a 2 star is because in the general unit, 5th floor 200s section I have seen a couple of people, including my grandma, try to call the nurses and their calls have been ignored. This seems to me like a human rights violation towards vulnerable people - especially that many are senior patients. It really does break my heart that some staff have become almost numb to the basic needs of patients. If this was your grandma, would you treat them the same way? It just makes me very very sad that vulnerable populations in this country are treated this way.
21 December 2021 11:22
I had surgery a week ago at Oakville Hospital and have nothing but very positive things to say about the experience. I was understandably nervous about the procedure but all staff were excellent from when I entered the hospital to when leaving 36 hours later. Despite staff shortages they took time to answer questions and put my mind at ease; including Dr Kwan the surgeon. I'm sorry I can't remember all the names but thank you for your exceptional care. Robert Bell
15 December 2021 9:35
Oakville will check you in quick and then forget about you. They forgot about me in one of many numbered rooms/horse stalls. I sat and listened.as the Doctor treated young teen aged patients with stuffy noses. Meanwhile i came in at around 8am and saw a Doc.until 8: 45pm.
-Oakville has the worst Emergency Treatment i have seen in over 50+ Yrs. Zero Stars For Forgetting About Patients In Agony! The Apology After Was Unacceptable! A Horrible Experience.
12 December 2021 6:24
My cousin has been in ICU for severe internal bleeding for two days straight without the ICU physician seeing him yet. Only got four bags of blood transfusion, a colonoscopy, and that's it. He lost about 6 litres of blood and no one has seen him again! The medical staff (not doctor - didn't come again) can't figure out what's going on and won't run anymore tests. They said they're waiting for him to bleed out again. HE LOST 6 LITRES OF BLOOD! What kind of hospital is this that can't treat patients in the ICU! This is an emergency! This is extremely disgusting! I've already spoke to Patient Relations and they couldn't help or understand the situation. This hospital will be sued for negligence.
28 November 2021 5:44
The best hospital I've ever visited. Staffs, from front to the back, are very friendly and helpful. Always put a "smile" in their services (although I can't see the smile behind the mask).
11 November 2021 11:22
We are indeed very proud of our hospital. The hospital itself is a masterpiece but what makes it more special is the staff. We want to thank the staff in the GI deaprtment. A special acknowledgement to volunteer Barbara who helped us with the wheelchair.
09 November 2021 12:58
Hats off to the security guards who work here, today I visited here with my husband, a guard with green turban was very helpful and polite. It was a great visit.
29 October 2021 18:33
I went into the emergency room on the 18th with an very abnormal extremely extended abdomen. I have a history of kidney stones and other health problems. What seemed to be going well was nothing but absolute discrimination and medical negligence. My husband had to ask after being there for 1 1/2 hours if a nurse would be coming to see me. At that point I should have said let's go but I gave them the benefit of doubt that they just make a simple error forgetting that I possible could have a blockage. In any case I see the nurse and was gave medication to ease pain. Another couple hours go by and I finally see the doctor whom ordered a ct scan and more medication
I get the medication but they forget about me again saying it was a miscommunication that I haven't received my ct scan now going on 5 1/2 hours
My husband and I find out that someone who came in after me received his ct scan and 1 1/2 later he had his results.
So, I request a copy of my ct scan and blood work also the copy of my emergency visit
I get a copy of the blood work, only page 3 and 4 of the ct scan that was not done that night it has the date on it from 2020 and a different hospital. I don't receive the emergency department sheet and told that 7.1 mm kidney stone is nothing to be worried about. Not to mention when I questioned about the cyst on my ovary and the lesions on my uterus I was told ct scan does show that. I am being majorly discriminated against and facing medical negligence all because I made a complaint into the college of doctors against a doctor who injured my arm 4 years ago since that time I have been faced with medical malpractice. I even had my previous doctor make false accusations against me and every hospital has been following along with the flags against me and as well the false accusations against me.
I am disgusted by our medical system and these so called health professionals. My videos, pictures, emails and other evidence doesn't lie.
20 September 2021 18:02
We went for our COVID Vaccine. It is a very well organized system that they have in place. The parking lots are available at no charge. While the lines may seem long, they move very quickly. A big heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers who are working hard to ensure we get vaccinated as soon as possible.
14 August 2021 17:06
Worst ER experience. Had to return without showing a doctor. Waited 6 hours. Maybe not emergency according to the triage nurse but it is an emergency to me for my health. Nobody wants to go to the hospital for fun. Extremely disappointed. MOREOVER WE ARE PAYING SUCH HIGH TAX FOR THESE SERVICES.
13 August 2021 3:14
Worst service here ever, came in with huge headache and because my gum was bleeding and according to the triage nurse from registry, not important and I was sent back home. The way she expressed it offended me and made me feel as if she was being racist and rude because of my young age. Don’t come to this hospital I am not the first person to complain about this type of customer service. If anything happens to me or the other person these people should be held accountable for it.
10 August 2021 13:36
I wish I can give zero star, absolutely very rude Doctor in the emergency department zone C on Wednesday at 10: 30 pm. At the moment We asked her a question she started showing attitude!
Is not enough to be educated if you don’t have humanity and kind behaviour with the patients!
Unfortunately there’s no place to teach the ethics otherwise I would advise you where to go.
04 August 2021 20:30
People complaining about wait times obviously don't understand how hospitals work. For me, the wait times here have been average for a hospital and I rarely find myself waiting for hours in the ER. Staff are very kind and understanding. Never had a bad experience here. I always come here instead of Jo Brant even tho I live in Burlington. Thank you OTMH!
31 July 2021 22:36
My 80 year old father was sent by ambulance to this hospital at 3: 00am. I called repeatedly from a different city to find out his status. No one answers the phone. Repeated attempts to find out what’s happening ended with no answer and a disconnect. The complaints department doesn’t answer the phone either. This is shameful on their part. Not being able to find out the status of a loved one because they are “busy” or “understaffed” is unacceptable.
26 July 2021 22:13
I brought my sister for an appointment at the fracture clinic for 1: 30. The waiting area was packed with more than 20 people, with more and more patients coming in to register. After waiting for half an hour, we were told it would at least be another hour and half of a wait. The reason for the wait was explained to be that the time with each patient varies based on their presentation and other clinical factors. Apparently everyone is waiting for the same doctor Dr. Matthies, who is only here one day of the week.

What exactly is the point of an appointment time if you have to wait hours to see a doctor? How is it right to crowd patients on top of patients to the point where there was a lack of chairs to sit in (especially in pandemic times) ? Why schedule so many patients into the same day? Is it not better to hire a second physician to share the patient load? Or refer them to another fracture clinic where the wait is not 2+ hours? It’s a well known fact that these appointments can go a little longer at times.so why not be proactive to prevent such circumstances, rather than pretending this is simply an unfortunate circumstance that no one could’ve foreseen.

Everyone loves to praise the Canadian health care system as an exemplar for the rest of the world. This is a blatant lie.
01 May 2021 1:09
The staff of OTMH have done an outstanding job during the COVID19 crisis. Thank you for your service.

What I am going to share is the same situation we had in Milton hospital and New Oakville Hospital. We had a case of emergency for our little baby which is 8 months old.we called 911 and they drove us to Milton Hospital's ER. At Milton they did not even process routine check up. Doctor asked my wife without touching the baby if there was any bruise on the body. They let us go home without any instructions. Baby cried whole night, so first thing in the morning we took her to Oakville hospital at Dundas / Third intersection. They did a great job at Oakville hospital. Physician check the baby for concussion and assured us there was no issue, then he noticed that the baby has problem moving one of her feet and immediately sent her for X-ray. Apparently there was a fraction just above her knee, and my little baby had to suffer whole night because nobody and Milton did a basic routine check.

We had Outstanding care for my 87 yrs young father after a fall and hip surgery. Nurses and staff are friendly and helpful. During this lock down when no visitation was aloud, hospital provided free t.v. And set up virtual visits daily.
Thank You nurses from 4 North Unit 1 you are All Angels ️

Waiting for almost 2 hours now and I’m still waiting for the doctor to check my 11 years old boy. Not crowded no urgent cases. My son fell down from the stairs on his head. Have no idea what are they waiting for

Visited ER for chest pain. Reception was quite quick to accept me and take a look. I had some heart rate abnormalities, therefore they took me in and did a few tests to figure out the problem and make sure I am safe. Most doctors, nurses and stuff were awesome in their professions. Thank you Oakville Hospital Stuff for taking good care of me, I appreciate you and wish you all kinds of blessings.

Dr Ben C in the ER deserves a promotion. He's like a ray of sunshine in an otherwise disappointing ER. Although the PA's are great as well. Maybe because they are young and aren't jaded yet. I have been to this ER more than I care to admit over the years, through all kinds of medical drama, and I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw his name on my chart. I'm a first responder, I get how difficult working with the public is and just how real burnout is. But I also realize that being miserable benefits no one, especially with a patient who has been through A LOT. It was a quick, pleasant experience for once. I received a confident assessment (no fracture!), reassurance, and a quick anatomy lesson. Great guy. #belikeben should be a movement at OTMH.

I ONLY would go to Oakville Hospital for treatment, following an extremely traumatic experience at Joseph Brant.

Personal shout out to Shea (wish I knew her last name), whom is a nurse within the emergency department for her caring and kind support during my stay.

Her, along with all of her colleagues were amazing and deserve all of the recognition for what they do and how well they do it.

Thanks all,
This is the only way I could put it in writing!

I have been going to this hospital for 5 years now and I trust them completely. They're always friendly always willing to answer questions. Very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend to all of my friends and family. Experts! Exactly what you need when it comes to your health

So frustrated with there diagnostic imaging department. I have been here 2 different times for a MRI. Each time I have come here they are way behind schedule - If this is the case call your patients and tell them instead of making them sit there for hours!

Hi all. I had hip replacement surgery one month ago. From pre op to the surgery to post op has been the best experience I have ever in healthcare. The hospital is beautiful but more importantly the staff were beyond incredible! Patient professionals who were extremely caring and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease from start to finish, incredible when you consider the new covid world they all work in. Thank you to Dr Zachowski, his team and the entire staff in Oakville!

*THIS REVIEW IS HONEST AND IS FROM REAL EXPERIENCE*

I would like to say free health care is a blessing. I say this because getting free food free medications is a huge deal if you go somewhere like the US or East Asia. This hospital has saved someone extremely close to me. If it wasn't for Dr. Takahr, the team at 5C pod 400 and 300 then I don't know what would happened. Although you might have to wait a little bit in the emergency bay it's well worth it (we went there at 10 PM and got a room at 4: 00AM). I would also like to point out that the hospital is extremely clean the room given to my family was very big and spacious for the 2 times we got moved. Overall I would like to state that this place was a very easy 26 days of my families life in terms of health care.

Edit:
One of my family members went to the emergency again to get there foot check as it was fractured, the triage nurse was a little bit ruff but in the ER.it was a complete different story, the nurses were amazing and the wait time was fast we were in and out in about an hour and a half. This is still the best hospital ever.

My dad was admitted to emergency due to extreme pain from muscle spasms in his back. Paramedics did a good job of getting him there on a gurney and the nurse took good care of him, but the doctor was in a hurry to get him out of emergency and out of care (where we waited from 12am to 5am). He ended up prescribing my dad the wrong medication that made him feel extreme nausea, caused exhaustion, sweating, heart palpitations, headaches, hallucinations and increased his anxiety. So he had back pain in addition to everything else: - (

Edit: it's also disheartening to see the same cookie-cutter responses used for almost every complaint on this page.

There's a bigger red headed fellow that works in the mental health area on Unit 2, fourth floor. Not sure if he's a nurse but this guy is a real piece of work. Very rude, sarcastic and condescending. I hope they don't have him dealing with patients and their families; what a mess.

Amazing Hospital! Caring staff and doctors who put there patients first. When I got sick I had no doubt I was in good hands! Thanks again and god bless you all!

Excellent hospital and staff. The doctors and nurses at the maternal child department were skilled and friendly.

They shouldn’t be charging money for parking. Especially when you are driving yourself to the ER. It makes sense for visitors, but if you’re ill and you’re faced with a potential $20+ parking bill, it makes you think twice about going. Not happy

I brought my wife to ER, the staff was really friendly, despite of being a busy day in ER we were properly triaged and the waiting time was ok. The doctor was very professional and did all the necessary test, he instructed next steps. Overall our experiencia was GREAT

This is unbelievable how inexperienced doctors are in this hospital. If you have pre-existing condition, don’t even think about receiving professional treatment. Their treatment WILL add to your pain tremendously.

Way too much waiting but great service.
One thing though, they ought to have a page where one can get a message through to the doctor in charge. These can be vetted and he can spend 5 minutes answering really serious problems.
I got a restricting cast that cut into my skin and numbed my fingers. Had to wait 3 weeks for it to be seen. Such a page could help such people solve their problems.
But honestly staff are good at what they do. Some are friendly.

Dr. Deacon spends o.oo1 look at pictures of fracture. Then some guy proceeds to put drywall cast all over your arm, your clothes, repeating until your hairline fracture is the size of 3 arms. What a disgace. Extremely traumatic experience.

I had an oral surgery because of a facial trauma due to a bike accident on 16/10/2020 performed by a great dental Surgeon Dr. Barakat.
Dr Barakat and all the medical staff at the Oakville Hospital were more than great, they were all fantastic.
A great degree of personal care, concern for my well being, super communication explaining to me the surgery process and the aftercare were simply excellent.
I am so grateful to Dr. Barakat and all the medical staff at the Oakville Hospital for the wonderful care I received.
Thank you very much indeed.

Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. This may be one of the nicest hospitals in Canada. The care I was given was top notch. No other hospital comes even close. Clean, and the rooms are quiet at night. Nurses were all very attentive.

Parking is a nightmare. Multiple visits to get parking pass revalidated. Pass is supposed to be valid at gated lots. It didn't work again today. Get it together.

Couldn’t have asked for a better labor and delivery experience. All the nurses and doctors were extremely patient and made my experience of having my first baby a memorable one!

One of the best most equipped hospitals in the whole country. They managed emergency patients completely separated from COVID-19 patients.

I am soon to be heading home from this hospital, and it's very hard to leave without Leaving a few words of appreciation. Needless to say that the staff is very hard working and professional all around. However, there are some nurses that stand out in this hospital, who I believe have a great future ahead. A young nurse named Madison is one of them. She helped with my complex recovery needs for a few days and was absolutely professiomal in doing so. It was spectacular in the way that she found time, in a seemingly very busy environment to tend to all her patients in such a caring and highly professional manner. She is a great person who truly cares for others and a professional standout nurse that is of great value to all of us. I truly hate to say goodbye to the staff. But I wish them true blessings and all the best in the future ahead. Overall, Halton Health staff is amazing. Ivan Galc. /Operations Manager. -

So do not go to this fracture clinic here
Worst place to go be ready to wait three hours to get check out and put a splinter on
Very very slow workers bring your breakfast lunch and maybe dinner cause your going to wait a long time
