Incredibly amazed by the designers, we just finished designing our first home and can't wait to see the action plan.

I am writing this review to express my appreciation for the work that OakWood did in renovating my kitchen into a beautiful living space for me and my family. I am so happy with all the work that was done, it is just how I pictured it. I know it was a lot of work and OakWood did a wonderful job. Thanks for all your work in helping me get the kitchen looking so good.

I want to thank OakWood for the dedication and professionalism displayed while completing our kitchen renovation in time for the birth of our latest grandchild!

Dave and I were very pleased and impressed with the ability to orchestrate the deliveries and installations in a timely manner, despite the inevitable hiccups along the way. When it came to the small details at the end of the project, our project manager was there to see everything was completed to our satisfaction.

We were also pleased with the tradespeople we encountered who were courteous and friendly, and who took great pride in a job well done. All in all, we are very happy with our new kitchen, and looking forward to enjoying it for a long time. Thank you for making this renovation experience as painless as possible!

I wanted to say how much I appreciate the work that OakWood and its team have done in my home. The trades are very professional and always leave the house very clean at the end of the day. I also really appreciate the effort put in managing this project - your communications have always been professional, honest and open, making this experience much more palatable - even through the minor hiccups! As a result, I have been able to relax (as much as possible!) knowing that if an issue does arise, you will take care of it efficiently and with as little impact on me and my family as possible.

We hired to OakWood to build our new home after looking at many other builders in the Ottawa area. It was clear to us after our first visit to their Design Centre that OakWood would be able to provide us with everything we would need from start to finish, and we were right. Their thorough presentation of the proposal and detailed plan made it clear that we would not get any surprises while building our new custom home. We did not feel like there was any guessing or approximating involved. When discussing the design plans with other firms we did not get the same feeling of professionalism and were worried that their affirmations were simply whispers in the wind. We are also grateful for our amazing designer who listened to all our ideas and questions. She was able to find out exactly what we wanted and come up with designs that were even better than what we originally had in mind! All of their site staff were also extremely professional when building our home and kept me informed at every step of they way so we knew exactly what was going on. Now that it is all over I cannot thank OakWood enough for the amazing work they have completed. Thank you, OakWood!

We are working with OakWood for our kitchen and basement renovations and are quite impressed with the professionalism and expertise of their team. Our designer is wonderful to work with and amazingly talented. She is always willing to answer our questions and advise us on various design options.

We are writing this review to thank OakWood for the amazing work that was completed on our home. We approached OakWood looking to renovate our existing kitchen and dining room, which required the removal of a load bearing wall. We had discussed our ideas with other contractors and design-build companies however they all said that what we were asking for was not realistic or possible. When we approached OakWood, their designers had a much different attitude and were instantly able to envision a solution to our problem. The budgeting and transparent pricing in the proposal was also very detailed so we knew that we would not be getting any surprises which was a major weight off of our shoulders. We would not hesitate to contact OakWood again for a future renovation!

We worked with OakWood to renovate our basement as we were looking to upgrade the one we had. After looking at different contractors in the area, we decided to work with OakWood as they offered a full range of services under one roof and seemed to have a pretty solid reputation in the city based on what we had heard from friends and colleagues. After consulting with the designers, who were extremely knowledgeable and made the process very easy despite all the different materials and selections that were available, we began the project with full confidence that OakWood would deliver on their promises.and we were right! The final result was exactly what we were looking for, and work was finished on time and on budget which was a huge relief!

We did our homework for over a year and looked at all the custom builders in greater Ottawa and found out that really only five had their own design service, although many claimed they did. This was important to us because we wanted to have one professional company responsible for the complete project. OakWood had the most knowledgeable team by far – period. We are very detailed and OakWood walked us through all of the design and building options. Their design centre is stunning and because we both work, it was extremely helpful to us by saving us time and showing us a huge variety of products. Best of all, after we finished the design process we relaxed as the construction workers impressed us with the schedule and high-quality finishes, while we followed along on our client portal. OakWood was a fair price and they kept their promises. We are very happy with OakWood and highly recommend them.

We had planed a custom build project. John gave us a tour of his office and we met a few designers. We were very impressed with their technology advance, project organization and attitude towards work. We have no doubt to trust them and put custom built or renovation projects in their hands.

John and his team at Oakwood have assisted us with many of our extensive renovation projects and I must say they have exceeded our expectations every time. The level of service, care and finished product quality is phenomenal to say the least. Congratulations on a successful operation John. I am proud to say that we have been working for Oakwood for almost 5 years now. They are a top notch renovator/builder with a solid team that is always working hard to provide nothing but the best. You always get what you pay for with Oakwood.

We hired them for 3 things, reno to an existing house.a deck, a mud room, and a bathroom redo.
- Deck: Overall the deck is strong and well built. I wish they would have drilled posts, it's a floating deck, not bolted to the house. Acceptable, but cheap.
- Bathroom: The plumbing was not fasted to the framing so hardware jiggled.unacceptable. The faucet was installed backwards so leaked quickly. 3rd party plumber diagnosed and fixed. Drywall warped. In-floor heating not grounded, keeps tripping.
- Mud room: Wall cracked, window does not properly close, indicative of shifting. Had failed inspection, requiring re-digging for insulating around the concrete slag. Overall unacceptable, these mistakes are junior/semi-pro.

Their tiler was A1.the only guy that really cared about quality.

This was test run before deciding whether they would get a larger job of adding another story to the house.sooo glad we tested first.
