Ocean Palate

I am really suprised how this restaurant has 4 star rating. I assume they started off well but now are heading towards closure. Ok so this is my experience with the so called ocean plate.sorry my bad ocean palate-I had ordered 1chicken biryani 1beef fry and 8 porotta for take away.when i i asked for the waiting time he said - they will take moretmore since they prepare freshly. I waited long and at last got my parcel. When i came home and opend i got 7 porottas instead of 8. Chicken biryani- i wonder how they called it chicken biryani-it tasted lyk they have mixed left over rice with curry. Beef fry -the meat was not beef. And on the top of that their customer service is not at all good.

Had an Amazing seafood kerala meals.fish curry and squid fry was outstanding. Service from Shilpa was excellent.

I don’t know how I am able to give even a stars. There was no food from the menu we could get. It was surprising that this Kerala restaurant had no authentic items we needed from the menu but, had Momos which was very disappointing even to taste. Definitely disappointed with the entire experience.

Went to the Cambridge branch with family. Had vegetarian meals. Dosa, idli and lime soda. Everything was delicious and the service was good too by Maria.

The shop was spotless and very well maintained. Ordered Kerala Porotta, Appam, Beef curry and Crab masala. Got the order within 15-20 minutes. Every thing was hot and had enough quantity.
The staff working there are very polite and especially I would like to thank the staff named Megha who served us, was well mannered and I would definitely recommend the place to others and hopefully visiting again soon.

Visited with family. Had Kerala paratha and chicken roast, food was delicious. Would definitely go again.

Terrible and unseasoned food. Undercooked biriyani rice and cheap portion sizes. Worst experience.

Ordered Vegetable sadhya - which is basic malayali food and everything tasted like it was at least a day old.

The parotha was not fluffly and was flat.

Bathrooms were clean and the place was tidy

Went there on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet, not busy. We ordered the Chicken Nadan curry with parotha and Fish biryani. The food was well presented. Best flavour of biryani, seriously tasty.

The reason for 4-stars is because the only one fish piece in it was extremely small. I understand inflation but this was disappointing.

Rip off, probably food is not their main business. Food not seasoned properly. Just a small fish curry (hopefully) meal cost $20+ with no extra rice or servings of side dishes. The rice they serve is not even enough to have a decent lunch. In Kerala, we ask similar businesses to go out at night wearing mask and a handful of hot chilly powder to make easy money. Kitchen looks messy and clutter, unclean. Location is definitely ghetto. Not again. Hype is only in ads

I bought sadhya from Ocean Palate Mississauga location, which was delicious. I found out about their samudhra sadhya on Instagram. I was incredibly anticipating the sadhya and was taken aback to learn that the sambar and rasam also contained fish. The amount was quite generous. It was worthwhile, and I'll go back to taste more of their food.

Worst experience I got this night. Wait about 50 min to take order. Staff are the worst and don't know the basics of catering. Worst Worst Worst service I had in canada. I came out.

Review of Ocean Palate, Indian and Kerala Cuisine, Located at 1151 Eglinton Ave E, Mississauga, ON L4W 1K6

I visited Ocean Palate at around 10: 00 PM and found the parking situation to be mediocre. The restaurant was spacious enough, with plenty of seating available. We were greeted and given menus as we sat near the entrance.

The first issue arose with the wait time for our food. Although we were told it would take 15 to 20 minutes, we waited for nearly 35 minutes. Moreover, the food was disappointing. An item we ordered was also forgotten, and we were so dissatisfied that we chose not to remind the staff about it.

The restaurant started off nearly empty, but soon filled up. Despite this, the lone waitress seemed overwhelmed, managing not just the orders but also the billing. The staff didn’t wear uniforms, making the establishment feel less professional. Additionally, cleanliness was an issue; tables were not cleared quickly for incoming guests.

As for the ambiance, the lighting was agreeable, and there was background music. However, our initial seating choice placed us uncomfortably close to the washroom, leading us to switch tables.

The food itself was a letdown. We tried the Masala Dosa and Cheese Masala Dosa, both of which were underwhelming. The only redeeming item was the South Indian Vegetable Cutlet.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. It's clear the management isn't prioritizing customer experience and seems to be skimping on staffing. Staff from the kitchen even had to serve food at times. Moreover, it appeared that many customers were recent immigrants from India, and I felt that the service didn’t meet Canadian hospitality standards.

In summary, when I dine out, I expect a pleasant experience, which Ocean Palate failed to deliver due to poor management and subpar service.

From the time you step in, you will be greeted by the aroma of the authentic Kerala cuisine. The nonstop Malayalam song’s completely immerse you to take you back to the days you spent in the streets of Indian soil. The smiles and hospitality of the crew is just commendable. They take time to cook until the original taste is brought to life & further it would carefully be decorated to present with the most awaited moment. I completely appreciate their service & definitely come back.

I bought Onam Sadhya from ocean palette and it was soo tasty. The flavors were outstanding, portions were generous, and the packaging kept everything fresh. Will definitely be ordering from here again soon. Highly recommended!

I ordered an Onam Sadhya takeout from Ocean palate and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The variety of traditional dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors, took me back to home. The attention to detail and the quality of the food were outstanding. A big thumbs up to the restaurant for providing such a memorable and delicious Onam Sadhya experience even through takeout!

Ocean Palate's Onam takeout is exceptional. Their delectable spread of traditional Kerala dishes captures the spirit of Onam perfectly. From flavorful curries to aromatic rice, the authentic flavors and convenient takeout option make it a delightful choice for celebrating Onam, and takeout was fabulous.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The Onam Sadhya was absolutely delicious, and I was particularly impressed with the impeccable service. The taste of the food was simply superb. Will definitely be returning for more!

This was one of the best Onasadhaya which I ever had. Especially the Semiya payasam was so yummy. Will surely recommend this place. The customer service is also excellent.

We have dined here as well as order take out. Porotta and beef is amazing.
Onam sadhya had a huge variety of items and everything was perfect in taste and quantity.
