Rating is for their Seafood department. They refuse to fillet fish that's on sale EVEN if you are PAYING for the extra service. An absolute waste of time and gas to come here. They need to change up their policy to allow for this, especially if people are paying for the cut service.

Otherwise, this store is pretty decent. I would've given 5 stars if it weren't for the seafood department.

Not sure I'll be coming back since I buy a lot of seafood and not worth it to drive to multiple different grocers.

I normally come here for the fruit and the sushi.but boy have i been disappointed the last few times. I came in the morning at 11am and they were serving hard stale food which was probably from the night before in the hot stand, plus the sushi wasnt fresh either. I was sick to my stomach with the quality. I took a few bites and threw it all out I was sooooo disappointed. I know they can do better.

This is a great Chinese store to go to buy food and vegetables.
The vegetables look so fresh.
Of course there are many vegetables from the East.

The box chicken bun is warm, after l pay l open it and eat it, the chicken bun like 3days.

Great store to buy, fresh seafood, meats, vegetables and Asian foods and drinks. Affordable and definitely our go to store for our daily needs when it comes to food.

An employee bumped in to me dropped 3 crates filled with fish and ice on me which caused me to fall. They didn’t even help me up or apologise and just told my husband to go customer service. Not how you treat a customer let alone a human being.

Not the most friendly staff but I love the variety and availability of exotic fruits & food

Please make sure to check product expiry dates. I have seen many products on sale that are expired. This should not be tolerated. Becareful!

Good place for asian groceries but they don't accept credit card as well staff over there don't know how to communicate in English.

Good verity of meats and fish for reasonable price.
Fruits are tricky - if its on sale better keep away.
Salmon is cheap but often already smelly. Even premium priced pieces not guaranteed to be fresh.

I purchased this Sabra Hummus product. It was sold to me on Sept 14th 2021. And the Item had a best before date of 27th August. They sold me something more than two weeks past the best before date (almost 3 weeks). My 7 month pregnant wife ate it and she got sick. When I came to the store to return the item, the managers were rude and dismissive.

There was no apology or sort of reassurance that problem will be addressed. They were upset as to why I came inside the store with the problem.

This store is in the center of mississauga and a whole community places its trust in this establishment. It should be held to a higher standard than what it feels it can provide and get away with.

I have already launched a complaint with CFIA and I hope they take some sort of action against them or hold them to a higher standard.

Ps. I'm not the only one who got sold expired food.

Be aware, they don't work with credit cards.the store by itself is nice, good selection of fish, but working with cash only? !?

The multiple times that we have shopped here, recently it hasn't been a good experience. The many times that we go there the vegetables are not as fresh as another Asian market. One time there was no meat in the butcher section. The cashiers are so rude. When we ask for the newspaper after buying hundreds of dollars in food they say that they ran out when I see that the other cashiers have it at their feet. Terrible service.

I have audio proof of Ocean's and their terrible customer service on two separate occasions. If anyone wants it, message me below. Today there was a fight at Ocean's where a black man was physically assaulted in their grocery store by two emboldened Asian men. After calling them about this, they refuse to do anything about this in incident, not even to put up a sign to remind people to love eachother. If you are of colour, please don't shop here. I certainly won't.

As on 14th July, the website says store opens at 9 am.

It's 9.23 already and the store is still closed.

Please update website to save people's time and avoid confusion

Place is spacious clean and Cary lots of products and the employees are very friendly and cautious too. Wheelchair accessible.and lots of parking space available.

Great produce. I like their produce better than major retailers. And very good prices. Wish they would take credit though.

Very good.sells great fresh fish, vegetables, and fruits.it's very easy to find what your looking for.this place also has variety of Asian snacks.

Store smells stuff are rude and don't speak English.i wonder if they are legal workers or not.when i moved to Canada 20 years ago i had to do elts test.i worked 15 years in grocery stores and always payed my EI and taxes.

Everything available but some items are costly and some are cheap. Smell inside the shop is not good. Meat and fishyy smell.

Find multi cultural items here, majorly food and Groceries, well priced too. I believe it targets Asians, Caribbeans and Africans

Was there near closing but most things were shut down already so not too surprised. Disappointed that the flyer in the Flipp ad was not accepted at this location as they have their own flyer apparently. Otherwise the store is clean but a little crowded, good options for some hot food but the main cooking are is still closed for now.

Such a shame to have this kind of customer service in a Western society. I had a bitter experience. After making a purchase of 196 dollars, the cashier and the Store manager refused to lend me a dollar coin to get a cart for my groceries. I offered to leave them my Drivers Licence as collateral for returning the coin, they still refused. Luckily a customer present at the scene lent me a dollar.
I am simply disgusted.

One can get a variety of fruits and vegetables which are priced reasonably.
The seafood section is not clean. The employees are not customer friendly.

I got some meat from the meat section, the bag was single bagged and the guy threw the meat bag at me across the counter and past the waiting area, as if expecting me to catch it. He could've waited until I moved closer to hand the bag to me. The bag landed on the dirty floor and when I picked up the bag of meat from the floor, it was wet. Overall worst experience I've had buying meat, and during COVID too.

Extremely disappointed at the lack of care for the public health guidelines at the Oceans Supermarket.

Arrived at the supermarket to notice not a single person watching the amount of customers coming in and out of the store. It sure felt as we were inside the amount was being exceeded as it was certainly not possible to maintain social distancing guidelines.

Asking the staff where the clean carts were was like pulling teeth. Upon conclusion that there were no clean carts inside the store it was almost an offense to the employee we asked to clean a cart for us. We would have no issue doing it ourselves if the store provided the sanitation wipes to do it ourselves. She cleaned the carts as a stack of them where she literally only cleaned the top one and the outsides of the others before putting them back out for customers use.

While we appreciate the work that grocery store employees do to remain open during the pandemic it's important that all stores are complying with health regulations to protect the safety of their customers and employees.

Incredibly ignorant staff
Went into the seafood looking for a product I only get there the shelf was completely empty however the price tag showing it belonged there was still there two gentlemen right behind less then 2ft I say "excuse" x5 to be completely ignored, till finally one of the men look at me and YELL. I DONT KNOW.

Asian supermarket located at Eglinton W and Hurontario St in Mississauga. It's a little dated and not as bright as those supermarkets from T&T. Prices are a bit cheaper if you are buying veggies and seafoods but anything else is comparable and higher in price. Diversity of items are less than T&T. This place has ample parking but it's a bit problematic for the physically disable. Entry into the supermarket would be challenging. Best time to shop would be before 6pm each weekday if you are looking to buy veggies, seafood and ready made hot Chinese food.

The music played here is so annoying. Poor management, dirty washroom. Seemly, nobody cares here.

Honestly the food selection it's great BUT the employees have the worse attitude I mean 1 person was nice but everyone else just rude I love the store I really hope they change the way they act toward customer best wishes

Don't expect anyone to help you find what you need. The solution is to learn the Chinese language then start shopping at oceans if you want to buy most of your stuff from this store. Otherwise prices are reasonable.

This store is too congested and 0 customer service because they narrow the space of the store, you will smell sea food every corner of the store. Make sure you have extra oxygen before entering in the store because it's also crowded too.

Looks like they dont trust black customers, my mom called and asked me to pick up some of the hot food specials she saw in flyer.

As I left 2 randoms guys just walked in front of me blocking my way, trying to get my bags, when I resisted they said we need to see reciept. To top it off, cashier didnt give me the reciept because she was too busy chatting to her friends in chinese. The food did have the "paid stickers" on it. Very awkward, couldve atleast tell me they were doing security check before approaching me. Second time I got checked at exit.

99% of the staff here have no social/customer servic/people skills.

Food is cheap, but hygiene seems suspect. You get what you pay for.

Stay away from this store, unless you wanna put yourself and/or your family on danger of a food poisoning. We purchase a fish (a trout) from this store. During preparation for a dinner we discover the fish had been rooten inside. Just imagine the stink inside our kitchen and house. Disgusting and unaaceptable.
How they can sell the product like this to the public? Do they care for a public health?
Of course we complained to the customer service and returned this stinky fish. Two weeks passed, we don't hear from management of the store at all. We should call Health Canada. Not only they sell a bad product but ignore customers. Does management wait for a tragic event? When they will implement necessary actions?
They don't deserve even a star. Stay away from them is our conclusion.

Really good place for buying fresh sea food, Asian vegetables and spices. Parking lot is under construction at the moment so parking is a bit messy these days.

Each time I said will never come again but because there is a good fish here so return back >>> Generally dirty store with difficakties talking with the staff pluse it is a pricey store.

Ocean is located in one of a very congested area. Parking here is horrible, too small for the amount of shops they have in the plaza.

Best time to shop here is early in the morning. Evenings and weekends are the worst time to shop here and the line ups are long. Their produce are always fresh, many choices for frozen foods. Oceans has butchers for their meat section and they have a hot foods area for take out.

Sometimes it is worth the wait for their hot foods take out, because their price for hot foods are reasonable compare to any other places.

I brought salmon fillets potion size cut today at noon, upon reaching home which is 20 minutes walk from oceans at Eglinton & Hurontario I found my salmon too be stale emitting bad odour which is not consumable.
This salmon portion cut was definitely very old which was probably being displayed in fresh fish selection for days and pre cut in portion fillets after not being able to sell it.
Secondly also like to point out regarding staff behind the fish counter, should speak in English with English speaking customers, how am I suppose to understand their language don't know if it's Chinese or other Oriental language which they speak behind the counter. English will be much appreciated as our first language is English.

Today bought the one roasted duck but see 4 legs in the two boxes. Obviously one was older, leftover, smaller half. I do not know why the cutting guy kept the other half of my ordered duck, maybe for himself buying. In general other part of the store is good.

Oh ma gaaawd! This place is not for everyone. It is an absolute clusterf***. It's LOUD, it smells, and it is absolutely PACKED! Brace yourselves for a giant culture shock, as it really aggresses the senses.
However. If you are looking for foreign, unusual, hard to find, or exotic produce, seafood or other foods, this is the place you need. The seafood section has live tanks and you can't find that many places. Also, look out for the hanging ducks in the back, freshly cooked and ready to take home.
It's an experience.

The prepared food is absolutely disgusting. Fried rice is undercooked, chicken rolls (or whatever you call them) are worthy of an up chuck. Don't waste your time here. Garbage. Not ever going back other than to demand a refund.and I still have their "food". As it was so disgusting that no one would eat it.

Clean, good, only one thing! The people work there don't have the Name tag for shoppers to call. Even if ask them for there names they don't tell there name! Is that strange?
I go to Walmart, Loblaws and so on, all the Cashiers there have their name tags pins in so people could easily call and friendly conversation. Or I'm wrong here?

Oceans offers often discounted prices on their selection of Asian produce, fish & seafood, meats. Their flyer items are excellent deals. They also have hot food like dim sum and they have the usual prepared sushi, Chinese buns and bakery. With prices so low, customer service is not often their highest priority so don't be surprised if the staff are not eager to serve you quick. We go primarily for certain asian items

Large selection of Asian produce, fresh fish & seafood, meats, hot table with dim sum, prepared sushi, Chinese buns and bakery. Having shopped here often, I see that it is a popular stop for people of many other cultures as well (you can get oxtail, Indian biscuits, etc.). Their specials are advertised in a weekly flyer on their website, and there is another location in Brampton on West Drive (their original store in Brampton). Stick to the flyer items for great deals but for items such as milk and butter their prices are high.

Like to shop there for veg, fruits, take out foods. But I saw BBQ and Roat pork section, that new guy picks all meat and cut them without a glove! Why? Because his hand is so clean? Hopefully that store can change it.

Great select at very reasonable prices. In house Panda King styled eatery with some dim sum options and dining area. It is not as clean or organized as T&T but definitely makes up for it in price. Convenience location with all your shopping needs.

Food service station my gosh. Why why why miserable staff both on dimsum and ready to eat stations. Personality, customer service NON EXISTENT.
Food today does not taste right. I did not bother complaining.
