Nice trail hidden in the city. The trail is mostly flat and it is good for beginner who like some fresh air. Depends on the time of day, you may run into cyclists riding their mountain or fat bikes on this trail. Please note the wood bridge section was close due to lack of maintenance.

Partially blocked because of flooding but there are side paths through and it's still beautiful, it's even quieter because the paths are detoured.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Google should have better info for trails of they are dog friendly or not. There is one short trail here that links with Trans Canada trail where you can be with your dog. It’s pretty sunny though, so not a lot of shade, which is something you would expect on a trail. So I can’t comment on the actual main trail loop quality, but the whole situation is not right. Such trails should have better markings.

A lovely trail to go for a long walk on. Washrooms are available at the parking area, which is a plus, and there are many different paths that have signs on them, so it’s hard to get lost.

The Old Quarry Trail is a gem, easily accessed (lights at the entrance). Lots of parking. Public washroom at trail head. Paths are well marked and a few different loops to choose from. There's also a labyrinth of smaller paths. The trail also links up with the Trans Canada Trail. Mixed forest and swampy area at centre.

Its a nice trail that i like to bike on.it isnt too difficult but there are certain areas where there is a lot of mud which causes biking there to be kind of difficult and some parts of the trail to be closed but it isnt too often because this only happens when it rains.

Geographically diverse trails, nestled in the woods. Lots to traverse, would highly recommend to anyone interested in going for long strolls in nature.

Easy trails to hike and bike all year long.
The fatbike trails in the winter are mostly all kind of skills levels and during summer, the whole network is easy to ride on an hardtail or a gravel bike.
Birds are everywhere!

Despite what the map says, dogs are NOT allowed as per the NCC website. This is an ecologically significant area.

Great chance to see nature in a 'close to home' location, and easy/beginner level trails.

Located on Eagleson road, directly across from the Hazeldean Mall.

Good amount of parking, but can be busy on weekends.
Outhouse in the parking lot, and none in the trails, just in case you're wondering.

Trails are fairly easy, and several entry points to start. Mild slopes, gravel, dirt and woodchip trails. Some trails have roots and tricky footing, but overall basic level hiking.

Trails are used all year round, winter there is snowshoeing (bring your own), x-country skiing (bring your own), and hiking. Other seasons, lots of biking and hiking. Spring can see flooded parts, so make sure to wear proper footwear.

Want to see nature, there are plenty of chances to feed the birds chick-a-dees in abundance (bring some birdseed). Deer, porcupines, and there is a local beaver as well.

What to bring:
Proper footwear
Bike/xc skis/snowshoes
Water bottle (no where to fill it at the trails)
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Bug Spray (mosquitoes and black flies)
Boots if rainy (or rained day before)
(Depends on season)

Enjoy the trails, Jay

In fall of 2022 lots of the paths between the boardwalks are surrounded by water or mud. People are making newer paths to get around. The boardwalks are not being maintained. Several areas have soft boards that should be replaced including those that have a large piece of plywood over them. Still a great place to go for a walk. Lots of options for paths to take but some maintenance would be nice.

We have just discovered this little gem. We have not explored the whole area yet but the trails we have walked have been easy, beautiful and filled with squirrels, chickadees and nut hatch birds. It's a great place to take kids and let them run off some energy.

Be careful if there is a warm up then freeze. The paths can become very icy and some ice grips make it a lot easier.

One of the best parks in the area. Lots of nice trails with plenty of wildlife. Some of the trails are partially flooded for most of the year.
