Olivea is a favourite spot of ours and we’ve been going for years. The food is delicious, the staff are lovely, the atmosphere is charming and the wine list is extensive. We loved each dish from appetizers to dessert, and look forward to our next visit already!

Love this classic Italian restaurant and every time I go with my girlfriend it's like we're on our first date again. The food is rich with flavour and always prepared with the attention to detail in presentation. The flavors of quality Italian pasta dishes are complemented with a large list of wines and amazing desserts. The price is worth the elegant atmosphere and service is amazing. Be sure to make a reservation for this popular Kingston restaurant.

Tiny steak portion that was overcooked but did have great seasoning. The seafood linguine was good. The Garganelli sauce was quite watery and bland. Very slow service for a quiet afternoon but I do recommend reserving a table as it can get busy at time.

Food is always great. Service leaves alot to be desired. Be prepared to wait at least an hour for your main course on a Sunday when the restaurant isn't full.

The food was good enough, pasta is good I would not recommend the salads pricing is somewhat accurate for quality and the wine list is not as extensive as I would expect for a restaurant at this price point overall good if you want traditional enough Italian food for Kingston

Located downtown kingston this super cute Italian restaurant will leave you speechless! As an appetizer my girlfriend and I shared the Grilled Squid which was not only presented incredibly but had fantastic flavouring to it. Followed by the Penne Alla Carbonara which was unbeatable. Overall the service, the atmosphere the food was outstanding and would recommend to anyone in the area!

Extremely disappointed that I have to write this review, as this was* one of my favourite places to eat in Kingston. I went in a couple of weeks ago looking to apply for a job only to be very very rudely turned away by someone who seemed like the manager. I understand it was busy, it was 1: 15 pm on a Saturday, but I was just going around looking to drop off my resume at different restaurants and that was it. He didn’t give me a chance to say even a word before he told me that he would “offer me a word of advice” (that i didn’t ask for) and told me not to come in during a rush, only between 3-4 (said it very rudely) and then proceeded to say that he wouldn’t even accept my resume and walked away before I could say anything. Left feeling like crying and was baffled at how this guy, who is a face of the restaurant, could treat someone like that. Super unfortunate as I have given them a lot of business, but that will be changing.

Recently was invited to a company dinner being held at Olivea restaurant. It is located in the heart of downtown Kingston with parking located within a 2 minute walk. The restaurant has a great vibe, beautiful decor and a great outdoor patio area as well. The staff were very friendly, provided great service and the turnaround time on our orders was very quick. We ended spending a few hours there and did not even realize where the time went. The menu has a wide selection of options, there is something for everyone. My favourite were the desert options.
A definite must visit when you are in Kingston, you wont be disappointed.

Best meals in Kingston!

Arriving in Kingston a few days ago I’ve longed to find a place that had a meal I would enjoy, that’s until I was recommended trying Olivea.

Been back every day since!

Great food and professional, friendly service.

I do advise to make a booking to avoid disappointment in not trying the food as Olivea is very busy.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Olivea for a taste of Italy with a fine dining experience.

We enjoyed dinner on New Years Day at Olivea. The food and wine were fantastic and I'll definitely visit when next in Kingston. Our pastas and sauces were made with fresh, delicious ingredients.

Both pasta dishes were delicious. Excellent location in Kingston with a great view of the city hall plaza.

I chose Olivea for my Birthday dinner based on other reviews. I absolutely love Italian cuisine and I was not disappointed. The service was excellent. They did not rush us through as they were extremely busy due to a concert at the Leon's Center. The food was delicious and hot. Portion sizes were generous. If you like Italian, you have to try this place

Excellent food. Service was a bit slow but not unreasonably so. Atmosphere is great. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

This is such a lively and lovely spot. My new favourite appetizer of all time are the chick pea fritters - panelle on the menu.

The featured wines are intriguing and generally unavailable at the LCBO.

If you see the Arctic Char on the menu be sure to try it! No one does that fish like Olivea. It's everything you want in a savoury dish.

For dessert I always enjoy the biscotti...

And I have to be honest - the fruitcake biscotti was way way better than I expected. I wasn't going to order it but I was convinced by the staff. And it turns out they were right!

Food at Olivea is delicious! And during the pandemic, they were among the first to pivot very gracefully to take-out dining! However now they are crowded and find it hard to take online orders at all as they are so busy with their in house patrons. That’s disappointing in cold and flu season. I’m sure their in house patrons are enjoying the excellent food.

Very good! Considering for our wedding. Only dislike was the gelato but that was more high expectations than anything; it tasted delicious!

Good service and coffee but the food was quite disappointing. I ordered the bolognese tagliatelle dish and I could've made a better version at home. That's saying something. The dish was bland, very little sauce, and the noodles were taken out 2 minutes too soon. I'm all for al dente but this was not it. I was honestly shocked when compared to sister restaurants in the downtown area.

We had a nice experience at Olivea’s. The server was great, friendly and helpful. The seafood appetizer was too salty but was an OK size portion. The beef cheek gnocchi was wonderful. The chicken thigh pasta was nice, but could have been more flavourful. The table bread was not warm, which was a bit disappointing, but had great flavour. Overall our experience was nice, would return.

Best Italian & seafood restaurant ever. I’m from out of town and It’s the first place I head for when I come down. I also absolutely love the oysters and for an additional bonus they serve gluten free pasta! PS: the service is absolutely adorable!

Classic Italian restaurant. I loved the atmosphere which made the great food taste even better, and all the staff there were super helpful and friendly and weren't afraid to make small talk. The portions were pretty big and the unlimited bread was definitely the highlight of the meal. All in all a solid restaurant.

The food was absolutely super! Good service, though a bit slow and they have taken away the olive oil and balsamic vinegar bottles that used to be on the tables that you could pour onto your plate to dip bread. Now you get a plate with oil and vinegar already on it to share with your table. Given the past couple of years in a pandemic, I found that a bit icky.

Extremely disappointed - this was becoming our regular place when we travel to Kingston. My daughter and I had the TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE, and we were both very disappointed. The pasta was glued together and absorbed all the little liquid in the sauce. The pasta looked like lasagna noodles in ribbon with the odd ruffled edge of lasagna pasta. We were told that the fresh-made pasta is a "different ball game, " but shouldn't it taste fresh instead? Tagliatelle should be wide, thin, and soft. Cut-up lasagna pasta with a too dry bolognese sauce that probably sat does not make for a good dish, it was unfortunately a terrible experience. On the positive side my wife's seafood linguine was very good.

We had the best service ever Sam was very nice and explained the menu to as and we asked for suggestions and she answered our questions and very knowledgeable about the menu it was my friend and I first time there and we will be back again.

Fantastique service, ils ont même dépêché un serveur qui parle français, même si je suis bilingue. La cuisson des linguines maison était parfaite et les plats très savoureux. Un bel éventail de bières de microbrasserie en fut, vins et cocktails. Le tout attablés à une belle terrasse avec vue sur l'hôtel de ville.

From out of town and was looking for italian, I chose this place based on 4.5 star rating but Was not impressed with the meal here, only thing i enjoyed was the free bread with EVOO and balsamic vinegar, pasta carbonara had no cream sauce for the pasta so it was dry, sangria had no fruity taste

Outstanding experience it was a bit of a wait but definitely worth it, the food is amazing Italian everything tastes great here I highly recommend also good for kids and families.

I orderd the bolognese tagliatelle and I was quite pleased seasoned perfectly just the right amount of sauce and cheese and the noodles were perfect will definitely order again.

Great food. Great service. Highly recommend it. Though they lost my reservation, they accommodated us with no questions asked.

I went there yesterday for my wedding anniversary and was sadly disappointed with the experience on the patio. The many previous times I’ve been it was amazing which is why I was so surprised and disappointed! We ordered a dozen oysters and we only received 10, once I asked the waitress she apologized and got us the other missing two. The service was incredibly slow. We were served the next second appetizer plate 45 mins after first appetizer oysters. We ordered grilled squid which is two squids and and warmed olives also quick to eat. These plates Are not lengthy thing to eat and The last two appetizers after which was fried seafood mix and three arrancini that were served burnt at this point I just wanted to leave. It was such a horrible experience and now memory for my anniversary! So not what I expected at all….

Seating in the patio was pleasant! However I can’t say the same about the meal. I got the carbonara despite the big portion it was mediocre and borderline salty

Great food selection and friendly staff. Over priced for the atmosphere. The food was well displayed and tasted very good. The staff are friendly and courteous. There is ample parking right next door. And a terrific view of the Kingston courtyard. Walking distance to Confederation Park and marina.

I ordered from Olivea to celebrate my second vaccine. I paid $42 plus tax for an entree and a salad to be delivered. The delivery service was fine but the food was terribly disappointing. I think it was supposed to be garlic bread, but it had little garlic, or butter and was dry. The Caesar salad was a handful of roumaine with two croutons and a dressing less tasty then the Kraft bottled version. The entree was OK but nothing special. My opinion of this restaurant has plummeted and it will be a long time before I consider visiting them through delivery or in person again.

There's a continuous flow of obnoxiously loud cars and motorcycles that are a nuisance to all the patios.

I visited Kingston for the first time and tried Olivea for our one dinner there. Bread & oil, salad, and my pasta dish… I savoured each bite! I seriously did. It was so so so delicious! If you have one meal in Kingston, this is the place!

Delicious food and incredibly friendly staff! You couldn't ask for more from a restaurant, they are amazing!

Phenomenal Restaurant For Small Wedding Reception

We had the most amazing, delicious and unforgettable wedding reception meal at Olivea. My parents were still talking about how good their beef tenderloin was over a week later. The appetizers were exceptional. You can’t go wrong with any of their selections. The desserts were to die for. I had the vanilla crème brulée and it was delectable. The ambience of the restaurant is warm, inviting and perfect for a fairy-tale evening following your wedding day. Moreover, the service at Olivea is second to none. Our ceremony ran long and we were late for our reservation on a busy Saturday night. The staff at Olivea saved our wedding dinner by helping accommodate us anyways. I can’t thank them enough or speak highly enough of them in this review. A true gem in the heart of downtown Kingston.

Great Italian food. Good variety. We've eaten in a couple of times and have had their Dinner for 2 features several times during the pandemic. Dinner for 2 includes starter, main and dessert for 2 and comes in oven-proof containers (where applocable) and heating instructions. Those meals have been really good.

Great place to eat. Good food. Started here as an apprentice and, learned a ton, before it was time to move on.
