Just went there to buy some fresh goat meat. It was overly expensive and the quality was definitly not worth the price. I cant believe the price and the quality missmatch. Find somewhere else to buy your meats from.

Varied selection of produce, butcher, and other import goods, with some quick eats. I would not go here for the produce, as sometimes certain vegetables or herbs are very unfresh. You really need to inspect the produce well before you buy. I have seen rotting fruit on the floor under skids on multiple occasions. I sometimes come here for specific spices that are hard to find elsewhere. The parking lot is also quite busy and we often end up parking in the back.

We buy these from frozen foods and when we open the box the chapli kababs were smelled and full of fungus

Just visited once as I'm new to the city but this store is amazing. I normally buy a mix of Pakistani, Indian, Arab & Turkish groceries & this store has everything I need. They even have Shezan brand of Pakistan which just a few stores carry. Meat section is also clean & reasonable. Would definitely be shopping here more often from now onwards!

Oma Fresh Foods is an exceptional grocery store that offers a wide range of fresh produce, meats, and groceries. The store prides itself on offering a diverse selection of items from various countries, making it a one-stop-shop for customers who are looking to explore different cuisines.

Best place for fresh meat & other fresh stuff on Friday’s. The meat is really great taste & very fresh just like how you want they do the service.
There’s also some pre cooked meal as well thats also really good taste
You get all desi items here like there’s nothing that you cannot find here that’s desi enough.

Some of the cashiers staff are disrespectful, so show some respect please I’m tired of arguing about match prices and much more, I really appreciate that your working hard but part of your job is to respect the customer
17 September 2022 17:20
Butchers are rude. They don't give you even a minute to look around. They walk away muttering when you ask them to wait 2 minutes. Will find another butcher and won't be returning again.
22 August 2022 7:35
Great place clean friendly and meat looks clean. The taste was delicious. We did the meat latin style.

Today oma food cashier was mentally busy somewhere and couldn't give concentration to clients. She punched in an item but kept it with her
28 May 2022 14:59
Worst experience, I spent 100 $ on meat, I don't feel satisfied the way the butcher's behave. I bought a king fish and he smashed the entire fish into small pieces. His answer was we are closing soon and we can't cut now properly. I won't visit this place again.
18 January 2022 18:35
Store closes at 7 and some lady closed the store at 6.50. I was knocking at 6.51pm she didn't open.worst customer service.drove long in snow for one item.never going there Again

They started selling a dessert called Basbousa. A delicious dessert. It had a selling price of $1.49 on the first day it came out. I was buying at $1.49 for 3 weeks and I was very satisfied. They did $2.49 today. Classic middle eastern mentality. The desire to make more profit if something sells well.
09 December 2021 16:25
This dessert was $1.49 at the first then was increased the price to $2.49 and now it is $2.99 what is going on Oma Fresh. Every week price is going up.

Hope all is well with you and yours.other than occasional pork products bought elsewhere, Kishki (now OMA Halal) is the only place I shop for all my other meat. Staff is courteous, friendly and always accessible and willing to help. Challenge: pick any regular grocery chain like Zehrs, Sobey’s, Loblaws/No-Frills, Walmart, etc and buy a steak or chicken and then buy an identical cut of meat from Kishki Foods. BBQ or cook each piece of steak or chicken the exact same way or recipe and TASTE THE DIFFERENCE - that is how meat is supposed and used to taste like - flavorful on its own. I am not sure of exactly WHY there is a striking difference where in my opinion and experience the HALAL is tastier and is more satisfying, but it is definitely noticeable and distinguishable. Considering the SOURCE of SUPPLY ie HALAL vs Industrial/Factory Farmed, it is more than obvious that all things considered, HALAL is better all the way around and much more value for my money. It is also noticeable after purchasing my usual amount of meat I am always surprised to expect what I used to pay those big chain stores was almost $80 - $100 is usually about $50 - $65. Try it.what do you have to lose? Think I’ll go buy a nice cut of steak for the BBQ now so will see them soon. Thank you. Be well.

Vegetables were not fresh. Maybe it was the time of day. But I won't be back. I was actually excited to try it "Oma Fresh Foods" thought it would be above normal grocery stores selection wise and quality wise. So disappointed
10 September 2021 12:54
Not the cleanest and very small but staff are friendly and meat prices (chicken especially) is very good
19 August 2021 5:17
Today I went to the store to buy a few things. The kunefe I bought was covered in fungus which could have ended up very bad if eaten. It wasn't expired but still was in very bad quality. When buying from the frozen section please check first if there is anything dangerous inside.
30 July 2021 4:30
Well, it doesn't have five star level service. But if you want to buy some nice meat it's one of the best places in Kitchner to do so and also it's cheap. But don't buy fish from there. It looks old.

I've been to this plaza countless times in the last few years and always thought about checking this store out. I finally had some time and decided to enter.

As you walk in the front door and escape the heat, you'll notice the wonderfully cold air as this room is filled with produce. Everything was fresh, clean and very affordable. There were plenty of produce options you won't find at your grocery chains, like fresh lychee and apricots to name a couple. There's an opening that leads to the rest of the store and it's substantially larger than you'd think.

Inside, you'll find an incredible variety of imported foods from around the world. I've never seen so many cracker and cookie options in my life, and was shocked to see prices like $1.59 for good size boxes. Most might write these off as cheap but having purchased several unique food items, I must state everything I tried was of good quality and was very enjoyable.

There's even imported packaged meats, cheese and an array of frozen imports too. I must have spent 45 minutes just browsing.

Besides the produce, the next best thing was their butcher. They have wonderfully fresh meat, very competitively priced and beautifully displayed. Having visited several other international grocery stores in the region, I was very impressed with their selection of fish.
It looks like they freeze any meat or fish that's coming up to date, so there's plenty of options. They also had a cooler with preseasoned meats, like kebob/skewers, chicken legs, etc.for those who want to cook but are looking to avoid timely prep work.

All in all, I think regardless of your tastes or favoured cuisine, there's absolutely something for you at Oma and I'm glad I finally decided to enter. I admittedly mistook the store for an organic/health food store (which I try to avoid).

If you're in the neighborhood and looking for a snack or hoping to prepare a dish with ingredients you can't easily find at the big chains, I highly recommend you check it out for yourself. At the very least, if you're looking to escape the summer heat, walk in and enjoy the ice cold produce room!

Good place to buy veriety of fish (king fish/surmai, pomfret, tilapia etc) and other meat with chopping service right in front of you.
04 November 2020 6:41
Was very pleased to find out that they offer delivery. They have really good meat. The size of the store is manageable and easy to get used to, unlike other supermarkets whereas the size is overwhelming. Would recommend.
22 October 2020 9:46
I was there in line today by the register at 3: 10pm and 2 guys just came next to me almost touching while i was paying and when i told them to back off they told me to f*ck of and some other things. This place should be shut down, no one knows anything about distancing all stupid people with no brain or knowledge come here.its a virus hotspot in this place
28 September 2020 8:43
Good selection of ethnic foods here. Meat is always fresh. Love the tomato paste here. Prices are you sleep better than most places. For example 10 lb of yellow potatoes were $2.99 while at the other stores they were $5.99.
28 May 2020 14:44
Extremely poor quality food items, specially their meat. Don't even think about using their online ordering option because they send the worst possible groceries to your house and with current lock down situation, there is nothing you can do about it. I don't recommend them. Was expecting they will take the effort to pick up quality items for me seeing that I placed a $200+ order, but I received groceries that mostly had to be thrown out.
02 May 2020 8:12
Its one star for many reasons
1- the fruits and vegetable area is a big freezer (very cold) and i dont know why (all other markets have normal temperature)
2- many many items without price on it
3- every time you shop in this market you have to review carefully your bill
Its 50 % you will surprise that there is a differnet between the price on the shelf and price on bill
Always they said this price expired
. Ok.next time i will bring calender with me to check the date and when your price valid and when it will expire
28 March 2020 21:06
I need to edit my review from 5 stars to 3 stars due to followings:
There are no price tags in butcher shop anymore, also l noticed there is an extra charge for cutting chicken?
The price of meat seems to be higher than other halal meat shops in the city. I can buy lamb at least $1 per pond cheaper somewhere else.
I gave 3 stars for friendly staff and products diversity.
I have been shopping in this store for more than 10 years and I hope they can make improvements in order to keep their regular customes.
02 February 2020 12:12
Great store, I grab my meat from here all the time. Only issue I have is that with the ground chicken, there tends to be a lot of cartilage or gristle in it.
15 January 2020 9:29
Called to see if they have wings and the guy hangs up on me. Get an English speaking person to answer the phone I can’t understand him.
14 January 2020 4:45
Great grocery store. My wife and I like coming here because the prices are good and the store is a manageable size (vs. Zehr's is like walking around a stadium). The produce is easily 1/3 the cost of what you pay at Sobey's or Zehr's, and they have a good selection of veggies that are too 'exotic' for the puritan tastes of the chain groceries (e.g. Okra, skinny eggplants, fresh dates, a variety of chiles). Some of the fruit can be hit and miss, but generally good. The butcher is good and meat is high quality. I only wish they had some more western staples so we could cut out going to the big stores entirely.

I love this place so much! It’s so organized, clean and everybody is so friendly here. I sometimes come here to advertise for a hot sauce brand and they let me pick a good spot to set up my table.

The owner is so friendly and respectful and their meat is so good and so fresh!
04 December 2019 17:32
This is a great shop for lots of Asian ingredients! I love the variety of frozen and packaged items, and find the prices very reasonable!
01 October 2019 12:30
This is the closest place near my place where I can find all kinds of spices.
They have managed it really well.
But their customer service is disappointing.
If you are looking for a certain product that they carried previously and you are unable to find it, they wouldn’t even bother checking their stock if they still have it.

Terrible! Save your cash, and go shopping elsewhere. This place in Kitchener is not worth it.

In addition to "real" halal food stores in town, major Canadian grocery stores have at least one international aisle with great selections.

1- Cleanliness & Hygiene: The butcher stinks! His BO was in a great competition with the smell of the non-fresh, and possibly spoiled meat. They both, however, worked in great harmony pushing me out of the smelly place! Dude: prior to work, brush your teeth, try something called "morning shower", use underarm deodorant, and put on clean clothes!
Unskilled & Poor management: this is supposed to be a food place; therefore, you should apply a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to staff hygiene and store cleanliness. The place is not very clean either.

2- Customer Service: one of the worst in town. You're done with the smelly butcher, who's mean, rude, ignorant and quite inconsiderate, to have to deal with the rest of workers whom all have a negative attitude. From the shelf-fillers to the check-out cashiers, you see a mix of pessimistic, defeatist, and bleak emotions. Sadness, anger, and even hostility can be experienced at this place.

3- Pricing: this goes from too much to an OK, but nothing seems to be outstanding.

4- Quality: their meat is bad. Period! If you were entrapped at this place for any reason and had to buy something to escape, check the product carefully before you leave, and KEEP your receipt. They don't seem to have a high turn-over, for what's been explained above plus more, so you need to check the expiry date. Also, check for decayed and rotten items if the packaging is transparent. I heard a lot on this from others.

I don't go here often but i this is a great middle east grocery store, clean friendly staff and great food
08 August 2019 2:27
You have to wait in line up for 15 to 20 mints and there is only one cashier and other cashiers are walking around,
Yesterday I was there and it took 15 mints in line up and I saw they rest of cashiers were walking around and same thing happened with me this morning
This place is so nice place for shopping but worst place that you have to wait in line up!

05 July 2019 14:54
We bought variety of food here from meat, rice, and vegtabls that were all really good quality and in a good price. I totally recommend here.
