The most fabulous post-humous photoshoot I've ever had the honour of participating in. The fresh lobster flesh was cooked superbly with a crisp, snappy texture. It had a subtle taste of wok hei with a savoury ginger scallion flavour and its carapace was quickly emptied.
The lobster set menu also included steamed vancouver crab, soy sauce steamed bass, soy sauce chicken, maggi beef, garlic choy sum and complimentary daily soup and dessert, it was difficult to leave without being full.
I visited this restaurant the first time some 10 years ago. Their dim sum and dinner are all delicious. It's one of my favorited place to eat together with friends. It's not as crowed as some other good Chinese restaurants but have the same good quality of food. You wouldn't be regret to eat here if you prefer real traditional Chinese dishes.
The tables are very tight and the ceiling is very low. The food is so so. The price is above average. The tea charge is $2.5 per person. Waiters are having long face without smiles.
As a seafood lover, Omei is always the best choice of mine and definitely worth 5 stars rating. We had jumbo lobster with 4 different cooking styles. I mostly like the streamed with vermicelli and green scallions, I can taste of the freshness and seems healthier. Ginger and scallions is definitely tasty. The deep fried in pepper and salt didn't feel oily at all, and the left over crispy breading good to serve with the fried rice. And we also had a streamed egg with lobster paste too. Service was excellent and friendly smiling staffs. Highly recommended place to fulfill your stomach. Will definitely go again.: D
I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food so perhaps I shouldn't rate this place.
I didn't find the food to be particularly tasty but they did provide many side sauces so I guess it's up to the customer to determine what sauce they like and add it themselves. Maybe that's the expectation with Chinese dim sum?
Visited O Mei during the Thanksgiving long weekend for my Bday dinner. Order a set menu with Lobsters (H. K.style) and other dishes. Delicious and the desserts are YUM.
A bit higher price than usual but absolutely worth it! Extremely good and beautiful rolls done shockingly quickly! The server was very sweet and sent me off with a miso soup on the house: 3 I will absolutely be back!
Today is my first time to order take out Dim Sum in this restaurant, however, the experience was bad and ruin my precious Sunday morning and my mood to enjoying the food. I spent One hour 10 minutes waiting time on spot for picking up 4 dishes Dim Sum and 2 of them were totally cold which l have to warn up with microwave before I eat.
Been eating at this restaurant for years. Not cheap, but quality is consistent & excellent. Everybody eats king crab or lobsters here. You will not be disappointed.
Worst service, shiity food. Dont go this restaurant, we ordered $599, but it just worth $299 honestly, you don't get what you paid since they are not honest. The item is not as described at all! Take out food is really small size! I would say this is scammer restaurant. No doubt that over 500 reviews only gave this bad restaurant 3.8 ratings.
Ordered New Year Eve diner and pickup time is 8pm. Waited for 90min already in the car Food is still not ready and asked us to pay extra for bigger lobster as they ran out of small ones! Called a hundred times and never let you know when it will be ready! Terrible service!
Ordered Buddha’s Temptation Combo for Chinese New Year Dinner. Then found out that Buddha Jump Over the Wall Soup is without abalone and sea cucumber (none), lots mushrooms and chicken leg. Buddha Jump Over the Wall Soup should be come with seafood, or at least some. Disappointed and messed up our new year eve dinner.
I hadnt been here for a few years. Their sesame chicken used to be very good. It was terrible on the eve of chinese new year. Hard sauce all stuck to the bottom. Sauce was more like a red sauce that was stuck to the container. General Tao had the same sauce in flavour but it wasnt hardened. Very little chicken in both dishes. Mainly coating. I asked if there was an oyster sausce on the tofu and veggie dish. Was told yes. Nope it wasnt an oyster sauce. Cynthias on the other side of highway 7 is far superior to this food. I gave it 2 stars due to the staff being very nice but thats it!
Ordered lobster for takeout from Omei and it was absolutely delicious. Price wise it is very expensive but taste wise it did not disappoint! They did offer a lot free sweets like red bean soup, mango mochi and deep fried red bean filling puffs which was very nice of them and much appreciated!

Same experience with some people had here. However, I should read it early! Under the misleading, our bill was much more than we expected. 4 people spent over $800 by misleading for a family dinner. Because we always have good experience to adopt recommendation of restaurant manager in other restaurants, this time we trusted the restaurant manager too, but we were cheated. Who will pick a 12p crab for just 4 people? And when we told them to change for a small one right away after the guy showed us, we were told the crab was cut already! And then the crab came to our table in about a couple of minutes! Do you believe we were eating what he showed us? What’s the place! A bad lesson and stay away with this restaurant.
Wanted to be at this place many times before but it was always full. It is renowned with seafood cuisines. Really disappointed with the taste and food served on our table. The manager is always good at perusading people to order big crabs and lobsters and different ways of cooking. People were tempted but can hear their so-so comments. Not an enjoyable experience.
You have to know before hand what you are willing to spend in this restaurant! They will up sell everything. They will push you to order the largest crab or lobster. Always ask “how much” before you make your final order. We ordered the lobster 4 ways.it was great. Expensive.but great.
