Love this place and hair cut too, thanx to Sarah for her great job, love to come back again

I'm not sure what happened. I walked out with an amazing blowout and a good experience. But when i washed my hair at home, it was like i had an entirely different haircut.

What i asked for: face framing, short layers in the back, more movement / texture to emphasize my waves (2a-b), versatile that can be parted on left, middle, or right side, round shape at the bottom instead of the V-shape common in layers, mid-back length (my hair was down to my waist)

The process: Reem cut my hair very similar to that viral technique of using a ponytail at the front of your head (minus the ponytail) to achieve that "butterfly" haircut. Thought it was interesting how a salon cut was so similar to a hack. After cutting my hair, Reem immediately gave me a blowout. She didn't do any dry cutting or detailing after my hair was dry.

What i ended up with (after first wash) :
Texture - somehow my wavy hair became pin straight, some sections looked damaged which was odd considering i stopped using heat for more than a decade. Besides going to a salon 3 times in the last 2 years, i can't remember the last time i used heat on my hair. When Sandra cut my hair in January, my hair was wavier literally after washing it the first time. I even stopped using any new products thinking that was the problem. After 3 weeks, I realized that all my layers were cut blunt. When i flipped my hair, you could literally see a line across of where it was cut. I spent 2 hours point cutting my hair to lose some of that weight at the bottom, which immediately gave me some waves back.

Cut / shape - There are choppy and uneven sections. If i push all my hair backwards, then you will see short layers in the back but those would be my bangs. So there are just pieces that are long, medium, and extremely short in the back of my head. My hair was less than an inch shorter. Since she gave me a blowout, my hair appeared shorter before i left the salon so i didnt think anything of it when Reem kept repeating she didn't take much length off (not my main ask anyway) and after washing my hair i saw how long it was. 3 weeks after my haircut, my hair was already growing to the length i would have gone to get it cut again and i had a very obvious V shape at the bottom that was looking like a rat tail because my hair was so straight.

I went to another salon to try and fix my hair. Even the stylist couldn't do anything because my hair was too uneven/sections too short to get it into the shape we had discussed. She could only razor cut that V-shape at the bottom of my hair.

I have an amazing experience with this hair salon, I always come back to Ashley and she is the only person I trust with my hair. She knows what she is doing and takes time into making you feel comfortable and going through everything. I came to Ashley with all my hair disasters after quarantine and when I dyed my hair by myself. She was able to fix it and colour correct. Will keep coming back, thank you.

I do not recommend for highlights! I had a terrible experience with the colorist Sara. I went touch up my highlights and ended up with darker and reddish hair.

Recently got my hair dyed and cut by Sandra M.and I am beyond pleased with the outcome and service! Sandra was sweet, patient and very enjoyable to work with. She walked me through the dying process and cut, confirming everything with me before following through. She definitely made the entire experience fun yet relaxing. My mother (who’s very particular about her hair) was also extremely happy with the service and constantly asks when we’ll be going back Just know you’ll definitely be in good hands

I have been going to Onare for years and have recommended quite a few people. Cut and color - I can't think of a better place to get your hair done.

Really great experience! I went in for a cut with my service dog and the whole salon was amazing with us. My stylist Linda did a fantastic job navigating my thick, sometimes unruly hair, and really listened to my routine and made the cut and style work for me. Staff even set my pup up on a padded bench beside the station so she had somewhere comfortable to wait during the appointment.

Will definitely be going back!

Sandra has been my hairstylist for a very long time. She is amazing at what she does. When I tell her what I want done to my hair she always goes above and beyond. I always enjoyed my experiences with her, she is great to have conversations with, friendly and most importantly takes the time to know what her clients want done to their hair. If you ever visit Onare I highly recommend Sandra for any of your future hair services as you wont be disappointed!

I came to the salon with very low hopes because I had box dyed my hair a couple times but Reem was amazing and got my hair highlighted blonde in one go! I would definitely recommend her and the staff were very nice!

It’s been a couple of weeks since I went to the salon after reading the positive reviews, I drove 30 mins in expectations of a good haircut.

The salon and staff was nice and welcoming, the prices are also justified, but unfortunately my stylist “Trinny” was not that great for a haircut.
After reaching home I noticed there were strands of long hair left under my T-shirt which weren’t cut. Again, that was fine because it’s kinda like an honest mistake.
I asked for layers, but the layers which she had cut there had no proper fall between them, one layer is too short and the other is too long, or the front layers are longer than the back layers and when I run my fingers through it and it looks so choppy and mismanaged.
I am sure the salon is good, I haven’t tried other stylists, but I’m sorry my experience has not been that great and I don’t recommend her for a haircut.

Sandra has been cutting my hair now for the past few years. I always enjoy her bubbly personality and our conversations IN ADDITION to the wonderful haircuts I get from her.

I have had the pleasure of having Sarab as my hairdresser for a little over a year. She has cut my hair and did balayage, which has gotten me to my dream hair colour. Sarab is very professional and knowledgeable in this field of work. You can also tell that she’s very passionate about it. First time I went to this salon, called for an appointment, Linda the receptionist was very nice and accommodating.she was able to book
me in the same day.sarah was very nice too, listens carefully to what kinda haircut I want.communication is very important and in this salon, staff listens to clients needs.place is neat and clean…. Will book another appointment soon for hair highlights.

Sarab is my go to hairstylist from Onare Salon. I have short thick hair, and it's hard to find a stylist who can tame it from looking like a boxy mess, but with Sarab I always leave the salon feeling refreshed and my hair looking amazing! She really understands what the client wants and always delivers results, I can't recommend her enough!

Sarabjot at Onare was amazing! So professional, so friendly and so amazing! I am able to trust her implicitly with my hair colour and cut and always amazed by the end results. She is careful and considerate when doing your hair, does her best to understand your vision and bring it to life. She is talented, knowledgeable and so so kind. I got my balayage for the first time. Cindy did a good job. She understood my requirements patiently. She also covered up the previous color without extra cost. But i was schocked when I saw a hidden charge of $10 (I am still not sure if it's $10 or $15) for simple drying. I was disappointed that the #1 salon of Mississauga have hidden charges like this. I hope they put this up on their website or give us correct quote before the service without confusing.

I did not get a chance to visit the business because no one ever calls me back. That's right no phone call back, voicemail, insta message returned or email. I have emailed them and called and I feel they are very unprofessional. Pandemic or no pandemic your Professionalism and business etiquette should never be like this. Good luck to them because I will not recommend or have nice things to says to others who ask me about the salon. Like I have all freakin day to try to get a hold of you!

I had a worse experience ever at this salon. May be because of COVID restriction and a new way of doing business or a poor quality of the service. Based on this experience nobody should go to a salon for service. If the service is reduced and provided without services included in price, the price should be adjusted and reduced accordingly. Imagine having a trim of medium long hair (up to the shoulder) without styling, leaving a salon with wet hair and paying the full price ($152.55 tax incl).

I recently got highlights done on my hair by Sarab and had an amazing experience! Sarab did an amazing job of talking me through the process to make sure I was comfortable with her decisions and also gave important tips to make sure I get the most out of hair. Loved the outcome of my hair and I am obsessed with how my hair looks, I'll definitely be coming back to Sarab!

The receptionist was so friendly and welcoming. Paolo made me fall in love with my hair again when I thought there was no hope! Thank-you!

I’ve been to the salon a couple of times now. Sarab has given me a balayage and cut every time I’ve been here and she does an amazing job. She’s patient and takes her time when doing the balayage. Not only is she very sweet but also is careful about what you want and I’m always so happy with the end result. There is no one else I would rather go to for my hair. Thank you, Sarab!

After trying a number of salons for a couple of years, I tried Onare. I can safely say my search has ended - this is definitely now my go-to place hair cuts. My stylist was very knowledgeable and talked me through options since I didn't have a specific cut in mind. The end result looks fabulous! It is absolutely great value for your money!

I love my haircut! Linda is wonderful. The owner, Mario takes time to greet all customers and runs a smooth, friendly operation.

Awful.do not go here.i wanted cute curtain bangs and to maintain my current length with a small trim (which was long and way past my chest). Ended up getting short hair above my shoulders and all my volume was gone when she cut up short layers.it looks like a mullet if i don’t constantly straighten it and it’s just awful.i didn’t even ask for short layers, we specifically talked about long layers and now she ruined it.i don’t know how she even got hired.

I was very impressed with how well this salon is following COVID-19 precautions. I had the privilege of having celena cut my hair. She was very informative on how to style my hair and any other questions I could think of. I honestly haven’t had great haircut like this in years. I’ve found my new stylist ️. Already made an appointment in sept to come back. I will recommend this salon to my friends.

I have been going here once a month for 11 years. Love the staff and service. Not the cheapest haircut you can find, but the quality is outstanding!

I have been going to Onare for about 19 years. Now doesn’t that state enough:). Professional, trained, personable and they do your hair how you want it. Mario has created a first class salon and first class staff.

I recently got a cut and colour by Sarab, this was my first time getting my hair coloured and she did a stunning job! I highly recommend Sarab for anyone looking for a bold but natural look!

She gave me a v cut and made my long thick hair have so much more movement and body.

The colour was perfect, she blended shades of brown seamlessly with my natural hair and the lighter tones in my face framing layers pulled the whole look together. I received sooo many compliments on the colour and style!

Sarab’s service was impeccable she walked me through the entire process made me feel super comfortable and overall just had a great time getting my hair done!

Two weeks back I took my wife to this Salon. She had ignored her curly hair for quite a long as a result of which they were matted and tangled pretty densely and beyond help. There seemed to be only one option - cut it. But since they were tangled to almost at its root, it would be have to be a very close cut to the scalp.and the look would have been not at all pretty! Not to forget that my wife was pretty nervous with having to face this outcome.

Luckily, an angel called Priya saved the day! The appointment was for 5 pm. She decided untangling would be the best option. She started untangling using and kept at it for another 6 hours, i.e till 11 pm that night. This was 2 hours beyond the salon closing time. Forsaking her Friday evening plans and committing to the customer like this is beyond belief.

We were charged very very reasonable fees for the services too!

My wife and I would whole-heartedly like to thank Priya and Onare salon for not only accommodating us, but helping us to this extent. It means a lot to us. I cannot imagine any other salon or a person in this world would have done this! Much love!

I got my hair colored for the first time ever by Sarab, the experience and results was everything I could have wished for and more! My hair turned out amazing and Sarab was super patient and detail oriented, she did an awesome job!

I got my haircut today by Cindy, she was super nice and helped me decide what exactly to do with my hair. I was a bit nervous since I hadn't had short hair in a really long time but I knew I could totally trust her and i'm glad I did, i'm in love with how my hair looks. I don't think i've ever had a better experience at a salon. I would 10/10 recommend this place and Cindy!

Do not get your hair cut by Sandra. Waste of $120 dollars. Both hair cuts we got were not what we asked for. Sandra cut my hair in 5 mins and packed up and left. You can save your money and go to first choice or super cuts you will at least get a proper haircut and style.

The Second hair cut we got instead of having proper layers the jr stylist just cut two layers one extremely short and one long and then kept cutting the front short.

Save your money, go somewhere else.

Paulo is amazing. I've been going there for more than a decade.

Only negative- the plastic capes don't work, all of the hair that was cut ended up on my clothes and in my mask.

Had the pleasure of meeting Sarab here at the salon who always goes above and beyond with service. Salon is always clean and staff is friendly. Sarab helped me decide on a new "V" cut for my hair needs and type and listened to my concerns. I have previously gone to her for colour and she explained the process to me and provided options for the look I wanted.

If you have curly hair, go see Martin! He was incredible with my hair. Many stylists I’ve gone to have had no idea what to do with my hair. Dry cuts don’t work for my hair type/I don’t prefer them, and many other stylists I’ve gone to in the past have cut my hair the same way they would straight, fine hair, which never flattered my curls.

At Onare, as soon as I sat in the salon chair, Martin knew exactly how to remove the damage from my ends, all the while shaping my hair and adding volume to all the right places. I’m obsessed with my haircut, its so beautifully and expertly done. The other staff here were also super friendly and made it a pleasant experience overall. Thank you so much, Martin and Onare!

I don't recommend the salon. They dyed my hair with skin on my forehead. The lady didn't even care to clean it. She was rude and washed my hair very painfully. Expensive with poor customer service. Waste of money and time!

I have not seen a worst hair salon in my life, an experience I received from these guys for 55 dollars I could not believe my eyes luckily I had my own machine at home so i just shaved everything bold definitely if you are looking for a decent man salon for haircut do yourself a favor do not let these guys make a joke out of you

I came here a couple of weeks ago to do a balayage and a hair cut. I was a skeptical about how they’re one of the best salons in Mississauga, but once I got my appointment done I was pretty impressed.

Went in looking like a hot mess.came out looking fabulous! Lol jk but They did do an AMAZING job on my haircut and hair colour. Got many compliments. Thank you

This salon is definitely a 5 star! Joanna colored my hair blonde and the color turned out beautifully and just how i wanted it. Selena did a great job styling my hair. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming as well!

I never cut my hair mostly because I don’t have a certain spot or person that I can trust but WOW that has changed! Decided to be spontaneous and try out Onare Salon and I couldn’t be happier that I did. I got MARTIN and he was such a good hair stylist! I got just the change I needed. Trust his advice. I still am in disbelief how much I like my hair and will be returning to this salon no questions asked. Checked receipt as I left, screwed up my tip amount.he deserved much more than I gave - next time! Everybody else was super lovely as well. HIGHLY recommend!

A very positive experience. The important thing for me is trust and I felt that. No realistic promises or pressure and a wonderful result. Friendly atmosphere and lovely staff.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, they coloured my hair exactly the way I wanted. However, the haircut was not what I asked for! When I showed the hairdresser the cut that I wanted he said “you can’t tell the type of cut from a picture”. And started laughing like it’s irregular for someone to request a style based on a picture! Also, they are very overpriced.it caused me to be reluctant to go to a salon because of being misinformed about how much it costs. They quoted me 300 at the beginning of my visit and I walked out paying 500. Then they decided they wanted to curl my hair and take pictures at the end and didn’t even end up posting it. So the only thing I was actually looking forward to at the end of the visit they didn’t do.

This salon is remarkable! I have blonde hair that can easily turn the wrong shade and Joanna is an incredible colorist who always gets it just right! I see Paolo for haircuts and he is a master, my hair is always cut/shaped to suit my face with just the right amount of volume & texture. Erin is the lady to see for a flawless blow out/blow dry. I highly recommend this salon.

Had an amazing experience. This was my first time here. The staff are super friendly. My stylist Linda was amazing. She took the time to talk about what I wanted and what would work for me. She gave me a lot of useful information on how to manage my hair better and the information about the products at the Salon. I am definitely going back!

First visit to this salon, told them I'm looking for a new stylist. Very welcoming, customer service was great. I booked an oil treatment and color toning with a consultation with Paolo before booking a haircut with him. Was very happy with my consultation. Only thing I'd say is that the extra $15 charge for blow dry after the oil treatment and toner was not disclosed in the beginning.

This is the first salon Ive EVER committed to! As someone who's been too busy (or lazy) for the past 30 years to make regular trips to the salon, this place has changed that. When you walk in, youre greeted by a friendly face offering a beverage- this place is always busy.one look around and you notice all the awards and TV shows their stylists work on. - you'd think this place would be snooty but it isnt (I dont do pretention very well). Sometimes I show up from worked covered in whatever Ive been making that day (Im a chef). No one cares! My stylist, Priya, is an incredible talent. I always leave with results that far exceed my expectations, I've learned to trust her recommendations as she seems to know what's best for me. If you're looking for above average results and service without the attitude, this is the place for you
