Bad customer service at this location. The employees like to stand around and chat and seem annoyed when you “interrupt them” by wanting to check out.

The store is too packed and you can’t walk down some aisles because of large items like playpens spilling out into the aisles.

I made a special trip here and got here at 4pm and they said that they will no longer accept clothes because it’s “busy season” even though their website says it’s open until 9pm.

I called the Mississauga location and they said they would take items up to one hour before closing which made sense. The Mississauga store was amazing with great customer service and so clean. From now on I will drive there instead.

By far the worst place. The staff is absolutely rude and they don't even pay attention to the customer. I don't understand why they even work if they have the faces of people that don't want to be there.

Very unpleasant experience. Poor customer service - they just don't care. Your time is worth more than few bucks they offer for a few items items after an hour of wait. They won't even text that it's ready for pickup. I'm never going back there again.

Price comparison for what they sell and what they give for your quality used items is not on par. If you buy used stuff from them the do choose all the good items but when you're bringing clothes in don't expect more than a dollar back per item for your goods.

I went there to drop off clothes. I’ve been to these places before. The girl in there did not assist me right away as she was just standing there. When she did come up to me she said hold on. She then went to another girl who had EarPods in and they began whispering to each other. She comes back to me and said they’re closed even though the time online says 9. She sounded like she was making lots of excuses as to why she didn’t want to take my clothing. I’m highly frustrated with the service there. This is the first location I’ve been too where the workers had a lot of attitude.

Employees here don't know how to do their job don't go to this location worse experience ever. They will definitely waste your time specially 2 girls who speak Spanish said my clothes had stains which they didn't and decided not take anything.

Great selection, clothes are in amazing condition, and I even found some "new with tag" pieces.

They never process clothes you have to sell in the time they say. It always takes two or more hours and they take little and give almost no money. Go anywhere else to sell your used clothes!

I had a terrible experience at this store. When I walked in, the employees barely acknowledged me, and seemed annoyed when I asked for help finding a specific item. To make matters worse, I later realized that the item I bought was of a wrong size, so I went back to the store to try to return it. The employee who called herself a store manager was unhelpful and unsympathetic, and made process incredibly difficult. I ended up filing complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario because i didn't want to leave the entire experience unattended. Overall, like many others I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at this store.

I love this place, and I'd absolutely recommend it to any children, youth, and parents. Back when I was younger, I would get clothes here for myself and my sibling all the time. Reasonable prices, excellent organization of items, a great selection of toys, videos, and clothes!

Today I participated in their store program for the first time and like many others, was disappointed with the service at this location. I had brought in a Lego set that was half assembled with all the pieces in a box. The staff rejected the set saying they don’t know how to put it together. Then they accidentally knocked over the box causing the built sections to disassemble. Instead of apologizing, the staff contradicted herself “Oh it’s Lego, can be put back together” - not very bright or friendly staff there

Worst service ever they have policies that honestly do not make sense. And the employees are garbage.

Pros: great selection, good quality, gently used items that look brand new & great prices

Cons: store is jammed packed and I found it hard to shop. I thought it was very messy and didn't like that there wasn't clear signage to navigate the store. I'm giving 3 stars because when I first walked in I expected it to be nicer. It felt like a run down value village and from first glance looks like a dump.

Would I shop there again? Definitely! The selection and prices make up for the poor aspects of the sore.

Any one has a child or you know any who has kids just go there! Trust! You can also get money back for donating quality clothes, etc as well.

I had an amazing experience at Once Upon A Child. The staff was friendly and the experience was great. I highly recommend this location if your wanting to sell your gently used children's clothing and toys.

I an a great supporter of reuse and recycling, and after our local children's clothing buy/sell store (Kiddo Clothing) went fully online due to COVID, I had to resort to go into this OUAC location for my kid's needs. Sorry to say I was very disappointed. The store is very badly organized, feels very cluttered and doesn't have a great selection of stuff. All this could probably be forgiven if the customer service was a little better. I went in to buy a jacket and shoes and sell some older shoes. I gave my bag of old shoes to the lady at the buy counter, and was asked if I was staying in the store or leaving. Apparently, that determines how much time we have to wait for them to "examine" the items. I understand having a process and being a chain store, I'm sure the bureaucracy is hard to deal with but the wait times are just ridiculous. We had finished shopping (which by itself took about half an hour because the items were so haphazardly laid out) and they still hadn't finished "processing" our items. I asked if I could go out and come back but apparently that increases my wait time to 3-4 hours because I'm leaving the store. So there I was waiting along with a hungry child for another 40 minutes only to be told that all my stuff was very badly damaged (it was not in my opinion but that's beside the point). Couldn't they take 5 seconds to check if its acceptable or not before making me wait for more than hour! Its simply ridiculous! It feels like people are being punished for promoting reuse! The employees have no respect for the customers or their time.

First time coming to the store to sell 2 bins worth of kids clothing/toys. Waited about an hour in-store on a Sat afternoon, which is a bit longer than other used kids clothing stores I've been to. The store has a lot of stuff to look through though. Right now they have a promo for books, buy 3 get 1 free, and 20 body suits for $10. Convenient that this location is right beside a Value Village - I was able to donate anything that I could not sell.

Edit - came here again after 8 months and found out that selling is not a first come, first serve basis. If you stay in-stores, then they give you priority. If you leave, then expect your stuff to not be looked at for hours. Just something to keep in mind if you have kids with you. I dropped off my stuff around 1pm and got it checked by 4: 30pm, but that's because I came back to the store and waited 30 mins.

The staff is incredibly RUDE they have no customer service whatsoever. They show no emotion of any sort toward customers. When you ask for help they seemed bothered. Now the prices have also gone up you might as well buy brand new stuff. I am very sad the way this store has changed.

Very small store but jam packed with kids stuff. Be prepared to spend some time finding items. Narrow aisles are organized by age. They have everything from clothes, footwear, uniforms, toys, books, strollers to carpets. They do not accept or sell cribs or baby bedding. They also buy your gently used kids items. They give you back cash or store credit only. The amount they give you back it not the full value of the item, only a percentage. You can wait in-store while you wait for your items to be sorted thru or you can pick them up by the end of the day. The store sends you a text message when your items are ready which is really convenient. If you don't pick up your items by store closing they may donate them to the thrift store next door.

This location seems to get a good selection of items. Both the buy and sell part is easy. It helps that the village value is next door if you want to donate any unsold or extra items.

Could honestly be much better … you don’t get much help from the staff when you ask about where clearance items are or where you can find things. I love OUAC but this location isn’t one of my favourites.

Worst manger. Double check any receipt that you get from this store they will refuse to fix any mistake they do even if they remember your face. My situation with this store was I came to return some items they gave me store credit of 80$. I step out the store I double check the receipt and the information the lady put was wrong I walk in ask to check the information I wrote down. The lady refused to fix my receipt I am out 80$ worst store. Had to share my experience and hope we all learned this location is the worst and there managers don’t care. I call the store manager in the morning all she did was apologize and ask me to come fix the name on the receipt. Ridiculous staff waste

Employees could be a little friendlier. Some aisles are hard to get through. If you are claustrophobic you will really feel it. Had a hard time finding certain things. Shoes in infant boxes are all mixed up for sizes.

I found a few good pieces of clothing but some of the staff are incredibly rude and even hostile toward customers. Lots of people working, basically no one interested in checking out customers. I even heard staff talking about a customer in front of her (she looked close to tears). The racks were unorganized and messy. Overall a totally unpleasant experience and not a store I want to return to for that reason. (I rarely write reviews but this was such a bad shopping experience that I felt I had to!)

First time here: “Ok” prices even though I caught some tags were over priced more than the original store they’re sold at, which is disappointing to say the least. I was also upset I couldn’t maneuver the stroller throughout the store with ease and safely; I either banged into merchandise or the space was too tight to pass by, mostly due to overcrowding of what I call junk (toys used and absurd prices at $20 sitting over head collecting dust and taking up space for example). I would go here again only as a last resort, as was today’s reasoning.

Great store that is large and spacious. Tons of second hand clothes and toys. You have to spend time searching for what you are looking for but can find some good things.

Called asked if they take jolly jumpers. Answered yes, we do. Drove 20 minutes. They don't. Drove 20 minutes back.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. As a new Mum, time is of the essence! I was looking for one particular item and decided to pop into this fully-stocked Etobicoke store. I asked an associate for help and within three minutes, I had my purchase! The item was practically brand new - paid $20 for a regularly priced $85 item. Fantastic deal.

Be aware that you won't be able to cash in your items after 3pm on a Sunday. They close at 6 on Sunday's and they claim that they need "time" to sort out their clothing. I drove all the way from downtown carrying two boxes full of stuff and ended bringing it all of it back home.

Wide variety of items. Almost everything you could need for babies and kids. Nice staff. All the bad reviews are questionable. I had a good experience here.

Staffs at the counter are very friendly and kind.it was amazing and got nice stuffs will definitely visit again

The staff was polite and professional. They were very busy but still were able to look through my stuff while I waited. Will definitely be bringing in more of my gently used items.

They bought a 200.00 high chair from us for 20 bucks and then sold it for 70$ lol.definitely look into selling items that you want to get a fair amount back for elsewhere. I mean i get it- if you want to get rid of something and just dont have the time to do the FB marketplace thing anywhere online and want the pawn shop vibe by all means this is the place to do it.

I dropped off items for consignment sale on Oct 19,2020 around 2: 30 in the afternoon. I went back to pick up my items around 4: 30 the same day. The items the store chose not to purchase were returned back to me. One item I left for sale was a bottle warmer that was brand new in a sealed box. When they returned the bottle warmer to me, not only had the seals been broken but the box has been ripped open and the interior packaging was also destroyed. When I brought it up as an issue the owner of the store called me a liar and claimed that the box had not been sealed when I brought it in. He didn't check the with staff that looked at my order he just said it wasn't possible and I was lying about the the condition I brought it in even after showing him a picture.

Have pictures as proof.

I would recommend to stay away from this place. 2 hours of wasted time waiting for their "sorting". From 2 huge boxes of clothing they only took 3 shirts, messed up the rest of the stuff, didn't bother even fold them properly and on top of that stole 1 pair of brand name licensed jeans, without paying for it. If i knew they are dishonest, i would have checked every item. Definitely will not deal with them ever again, it is a rip off.

Watched as the employee barely went through an entire bin of baby girl clothing. She literally only looked at the top of what was in the bin and then when I was watching her she put her hand deeper into the bin. I made sure to only put in the bin clothing that wasn’t stained and gently used.
I waited 45 minutes. 45 minutes I will never get back.
They took 13 items. There was probably close to 70 items.
I could probably make more selling the bin on Facebook marketplace. Lesson painfully learned.

The staff either doesn't wear face masks properly or non at all. I will no longer be shopping there.

Good selection of used clothes but it's being run by teenagers and it shows. Disorganized, no one is social distancing in the store and it's not being enforced, and the music can be SO loud and inappropriate for a kids store.

This store had so many cute clothes for great prices. Will probably not shop anywhere else for my kids clothes because they have pretty much everything you need here.

Good value for money. Always organized and pretty often stocked with nice deals! Recommended if you looking for some savings.

I have been going to once upon a child almost 10 years. Love it. True thoses years I been selling and buying clothing for my kids. I probably save hundreds of dollars. I found a lot of brand new clothing whit tag still on.my kids best clothing are from a second hand store.they love it.gap, roots, Nike and much more names. I will never live this store. LOVE IT!

Kind of reminds me of going to a vintage store to shop. Lots of gems for great pricingypricing can find but there is so much to wade through. Something new everyday!

I expected store selling childrens stuff to be much cleaner. I do understand that they sell second hand items, but cant understand what is the hype about the store now that i have visited it. I will definetly not be back, as I think you get better deals buying chlotes at sales at regular stores. In terms of buying bran name strollers and other baby gear, I feel you would be better of searching kijiji or other sale sites.

Great store to find cheap cool staff for your kids. Why wasting money and paying for the new clothes when you can have nice and cheap used one.

Great selection and pricing on lightly used toys and baby gear. Be sure to look through larger items to make sure all parts are included. Narrow aisles and overflow of items make it a bit tricky to pass by others in some areas.

This place is a disaster.it is completely over-stuffed. They need to stop accepting clothes and items and sell some of it first! There are folded up strollers and infant tubs spilling out into the already narrow aisles, the clothing racks are so densely packed that it's difficult to move the hangers to see each article. I'm all for second hand items, but if it were more organized and a little less claustrophobic in there, I'd spend more time and actually get a closer look at everything in there!
Edit: employees seemingly hate their jobs. I was waiting to buy one item and two girls behind the counter folding clothes. They looked at each other and laughed. Then one of them finally rolled her eyes and came over to cash me out. Oh and the washrooms were appalling.

Called ahead to check their policy regarding returning an item from another store. The employee on the phone confirmed I would’ve been able to return the item for a full refund (it was within their return policy rules) but when I got to the store the employee at the counter unapologetically refused to take my item and said I would only get store credit for the return.

Awful service. Those girls care more about themselves then customers. I enjoyed listening to a whole half hour of the front cashier joke about a missing receipt. She asked me if I wanted to wait in store or they will call me when they are done. 2 hours later I returned for them to tell me they have not even started my order and that walk ins become first. So I asked her if that made sense being that no one advised me of this before leaving. She half smiled and told me she would start right away. 35 mintues later. She did not even move towards my bin. Very disorganized. Needless to say I LEFT WITHOUT money and my kids garbage bag of clothes. Sad. Thought it was chartible. Do not go to this location.

Passed by Once Upon A Child on a Saturday afternoon. I had only previously gone to the one on bay view and Eglinton. When I stepped into this one I was extremely disappointed. The store was a mess! Clothes on the floor, bins all over the floor making it very hard to walk (store is cramped to begin with) -just overall really messy-to the point that I went in and walked straight out.

With the exception of the store needing some better organization around the aisles.this place is an absolute gem! Clothes, books, strollers, high table, little baby accessories, jackets, toys are all plenty! The new stuff seem a little sparse but the gently used and recycled material were PLENTY! I was more than happy to purchase what I required for amazing never before seen prices in here. Definitely worth checking out for new parents and young kids!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We brought in some very nice used clothes from Okaidi (and others stores) to be reviewed for purchase (we usually donate the money to a children's charity after - been doing this for 6 years) by the Once Upon a Child store. We then had to attend to a family emergency immediately which lasted 2 days. In the meantime, the store did not give us a reminder courtesy call for the clothes they did not want. Instead they just gave our clothes to Value Village! We normally donate any unwanted clothes to children or women's shelters - not to billion dollar organizations that do very little in the way of charitable donations. The manager was unable to / didn't want to speak to my wife about it. Unacceptable! Management step up!

Great place, lots of choice and good quality products, also it is good for the environment to buy second hand! Staff is very nice.

If you put something on hold don't expect them to honour your hold. You may end up driving 30 mins m just to find your hold was sold to someone else even though you called the night before and the morning of.

Bad customer service, no money on hand to buy my clothes - only store credit available, won't buy things after 8pm even though store closes at 9 and this info isn't posted anywhere. 3rd time in today with a bad experience each time. Won't likely be going back.

I called prior to going to the store as I don’t live close by. They said they had the product that I was looking for (More than 3). When I arrive I am pointed in the correct direction and the product I had called for is not there. The manager is insincerely apologetic and I ask her “can you talk to the person that said they had the product? ” She does ask the sales associate with a look (which I didn’t appreciate) and she says that her sales associate “assumed “ they had some. Why would you assume? Ok all I ask is that you ask your employee not to assume that the product is here as people don’t have time to waste. The manager didn’t get where I was coming from, she just kept saying sorry. So I had to just walk away. What a waste of time.

I have great selling
aisles are not meant for strollers.
Maybe cashier's would smile more if parents when they bring their kids could actual clean up after them.
Great store better than most places

They waste your time. The worker sees me come in with 3 bags in total. One large bag but its only a 1/4 full and 2 grocery size bags. So not really that full. I get a form to fill out and got it filled out in full. The worker comes back to me and tells me that since I had so much that they can't take it at 5pm. I let her know my displeasure with this since she could have said just hold on and let me check and see if we can still accept new clothes. She didn't do that and I was made to fill out the whole form and then she came back to me and told me she/they couldn't and she even supposdly spoke to 2 managers. I only saw 1 other worker there so who was the second manager?

This place is not the greatest too. The spacing of this place is so tight and is really hard to move around. Your better off by selling your stuff else where.

I always find something for my son. It's cheap and a great way to not throw away kid clothes.
The store is small tho so it's hard to go through, especially with a stroller!
I would recommend to go alone without the kids; which is kind of a bummer since it's a kid clothes shop.
