I had a wonderful experience at once upon a child selling my kids dance items. Friendly and honest service. They were quick to respond and everything was done within half a day. Highly recommend!
I went here last weekend with my daughter and brought in items for consignment. An older women who handled it was arbitrary with what she took. She insisted that no one will buy the size 4 Crocs since it's too big but proceeded to accept ADULT shoes size 6. Flat out denied the brand new rollerblades size 1-4. But then I see ice skates in the store? I hate this location I always go to the Sandhurst location so I'm not new with Once Upon a Child. Also a lot of the clothes had paint, stains and holes. I went to the Salvation Army across the street and had a better time there!
Staff is super rude, I didn't fold my stuff and it was my first time selling, she was like well that's like us doing laundry, we don't have time for that. Then she's like no no were not taking this size and this size and essentially refused my stuff because it wasn't folded. However, to look at it, you need to open it anyways. Ended up going to Scarborough location and way better service and they didn't refuse it unfolded.
It was just a pleasant experience shopping here. Tammy, the manager and operator is so helpful and kind. She showed us around and helped me with what I was looking for. You should go to this place.
I came to the Leaside location on the recommendation of a mom in my neighbourhood I received the worst service and the staff was very dismissive. I never opted out of the text messages so I needed to sell my stroller so I went into the store and saw a huge change! Cleaner and organized and very great prices! The manager Tammy helped me so much and has restored my faith! I will definitely be going back to shop and sell.
Awesome experience. Everything I go there I am treated so well and I find what I need. They have such a large variety of toys and clothing and shoes and everything one is looking for children. The prices are all reasonable. Great place to go for shopping for kids.
This location seems like they choose to buy from customers only if they are selling enough that day. What’s the point of your motto that us customers can sell our stuff to you if you close the buy counter halfway through the day? There were only 3 bins to be sorted through and we got denied. Will be going to the Scarborough or Ajax location going forward.
Hello, I came across this store once soon a time today and what a fantastic place to shop for children's cloths, Toys, shoes and alot of other items. It was a great experience as everything in the store is so organized and all the stuff is clean like new. I highly recommend this store if you have small children. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
If you’re selling clothes, avoid going on the weekend because it’s very busy and they may not be able to process it right away. You may be asked to come back within 24 hrs to get your cash
This store is so beautifully organized. Excellent prices and amazing staff. I will only buy my children items from here. It is so calm and such a nice experience to shop here.
I extremely love this location! The manager is EXTREMELY NICE! I also love the staff! Such great help and so nice! This store is very organized and clean as well! I recommend this place to ANYONE!
Had an amazing selling and buying experience here! Staff was so helpful, they had lots of orders to get through but still got through mine while I was shopping in the store. Will be returning:)
As of today, I had a HORRIBLE experience with the lady that was (not willingly) taking things to be purchased by them. I used to ABSOLUTELY LOVE this store, recommended to every mom I met and friends. I do love the concept of recycling and re- using, and used to find gorgeous clothing in this store, but definitely as long as that lady or that kind of service and lack of manners to communicate remain there, I wouldn't come back and I would advise people to save a sour moment. I get it, it's busy.everyone is busy! Specially moms trying to save some money looking through tons of clothes, so the last thing we deserve is someone as rude that doesn't take a breath to explain how things are functioning now. The problem was that I had many boxes, so I walked in asking where I can leave them for them to check whenever they could and just called me back to collect what they don't buy.the first thing she said "oh what's that? ! We don't take that! That's dirty, and we don't take dirty things! " (I truly appreciate the shape of things they sell.a simple kind "no thank you as it doesn't meet our standards" would have done it.) Then it unrolled to more and more aggressive and rude, which I don't need She just finished by saying "if you don't like it, you can go to another location" I did mention that one thing that certainly changed was the service as they used to be nice.
I was just going through the reviews and I just read one comment Humaira Ali she explained everything and how all stuff were being disrespectful towards her. So I wanna tell what I saw while shopping there at the same time as her. She was being so disrespectful toward stuff members and was screaming at them just because one stuff member told her the policy which is common sense. I know we are buying and paying money but we don’t own people respect is both way not only one way.just because we pay money They work and they get paid they don’t get the money that we are buying and giving them, Next time when you shop there be nice and try to understand the rules that each store have that is common sense. Just because you scream and yell at them it doesn’t make you right stop being a Karen
Entitled and catty group of 5 workers who couldn't keep the very few customers in control.so instead loudly complained and lamented about their customer service experience the vast duration time I shopped for an hour. A woman who bought 56 dolls instead of 40, their manager Terry or Tammy, children who played too much, people selling not coming at open, customers DARING to ask for help, just whining to each other about the pettiest stuff.on and on, SO LOUD COME ON. Even in front of said customers. My ride was stuck in traffic, so specifically before buying or paying, I asking if I could leave the stuff there and head to the mall for an hour. The two I spoke to readily agreed, I said cool, paid $211. Right after paying one of the other workers suddenly decided it's time to tell me no I can't leave the stuff there is against the rules. I said but I already got told I could, and I've already paid, you guys need to really talk amongst yourselves before yanking customers around. She then decided to go into full argument mode. I yelled at them and stormed out. They did this to me AFTER being building a rapport with me, after I was nice to them about their complete unprofessionalism. I can't imagine how they treat people who they don't like. These people are not aware who their emotional and vulnerable clientele is, nor do they care. Don't go here.
Visited the Leaside location today and was so pleasantly surprised! The store is so clean and organized. The staff is so lovely and kind! Dropped some clothing off to sell and it was looked after so quickly! Absolutely loved my first experience here and will come back again! Highly recommend!
Brought in over 30 items and was told that they would call me the next day to let me know when to pick the items up only to never get a call from them. Two days later I go there to find out that they only look four items and donated the rest of them.
Today was my first visit here. I was recommended by my friend to check it out because she said it was her favourite location. It’s a one stop shop for sure! I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness and organization of the store. Keep up the great work ladies!
Absolutely love this OUAC location. The sales assoiates are beyond obliging and very welcoming. Wish all locations the people who work there were this nice! This is why this location is so busy. The store is very neat and you can find things very easily. Sold some clothing and came home with a whole bunch more. Yay a Happy Mom!
Recently visited and noticed how clean and organized it was under new management. If you are dedicated to reducing our footprint on this earth, consider selling and buying your children’s clothing, books and toys here.
Excellent service! Tammy is super knowledgeable and staff super friendly. Amazing deals! Must go! You won’t be disappointed! Store is also super clean and clothes are super clean and in Great condition.
First time here. They have an ok variety of items but it's better to go to the one in Scarborough. They don't clean the shoes and boots (mud caked bottoms and thread/hair caught in the velcro). Some clothes had stains Managed to snag Northface boots but had to dig through some raggetty items first. Better quality and condition of items at the Scarborough location. OUAC Leaside are not paying attention to what they're buying off people
Very nice gently used baby and children's clothing store. Items for the most part are organized well, aside from the odd items that aren't put back correctly by customers.
Overall condition of the clothes is very good, almost new. Infant diaper shirts are a great deal at $1.50 a piece! Fantastic!
Dresses for a baby girl and some of the pieces are really on the expensive side for second hand clothing in my opinion. Still better than brand new at the brand name stores, but still a bit high for thrifting standards. Deals can be found in the store, but you will need to commit time to hunt the hangers.
The store had some really nice things, i find them to be really over priced compared to a few other stores that i have been to. The employees were very nice and the place was very clean.
Great location! First time shopping at this location and it was very clean, good selection of clothing and an awesome toy section. Will be coming to this location from now on!
The best location out of all in my opinion, I was shocked how clean and organised they were compare to Islington location uuggh. They were quick, the lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and I felt very comfortable asking her questions. This store made me LOVE this place. Great job and I would definitely recommend this store.
Brutal experience. I will never bring clothing here again. I had 2 large totes and 3 full large laundry baskets full of clean, folded gently used, good condition baby and children clothes from infant to size 5. It was all assorted brands (carters, oshkosh, H&M, gap, disney, old navy, Tommy, etc.). I called 3 days in advance to confirm what they'll take and again the day of before leaving. They said they'll take anything except size 6mnth - 18 month and so long as its clean, folded and in good condition - and it all was. I sorted everything at home for 4 hours to ensure it was all good. Brought it in on Saturday to be greeted (rather not really greeted), by a grumpy intake clerk. Told we had to wait about 2 hours for them to sort through it. I left and came back to them having thrown most of it messily into my bins after having sorted it for 4 hours and for them to only take about 10% of the clothes I brought. The person at the desk that time told me that even though the stuff was in good condition, they only take certain styles and brands, which is why they're only taking approx 15 pieces. Why did they not say this when I called 2 times before lugging this stuff? I would have not wasted 4 hours sorting and 1 hour and gas $ driving there and back home if that was the case. Why not be transparent upfront on the telephone and say you are only taking certain styles, and brands? Why tell me that you will take anything, so long as its washed and in good condition, if you will NOT? Such a disappointment. And now, here I am with all the clothes in messy piles in my bins at home again, needing to resort, reorganize and fold it all over again. Terrible customer service and poorly run.
We have shopped in this chain many times. Etobicoke and Concord locations are really great, with great helpful & friendly staff. Our experience in the East York location recently was horrible - extremely rude and unfriendly staff. Definitely do not want shop here again or even recommend to others. There are many other thrift stores with better options, and better prices. Also local swap events are better.
I like this store lot of stuff for children. The prices are high but depends on what you want to get for the price. Also the baby stuff like strollers and cribs new. I will be back to shop more and good for daycares lots of new and used stuff and very good conditions.
Great place to get rid of a lot of your baby things, but the store is terribly unorganized with stuff scattered all over. I've never bought anything from the store, but I imagine that you can find almost anything. I sold my Chameleon Buggaboo here years ago and the store did offer a fair price for it. I purchased the stroller for about $1300 and got back about $130 after 3 years use. This is considered a fair price. Other places would offer a lot less.
