One Duke Restaurant Hamilton

My partner and I went here to eat in the evening and got myself fish and chips while he got the smash burger with a side of parmesan cheese fries and an espresso martini. Overall, the food was great, and we both loved our food. The fish and chips were pretty good, but the batter was too thin, so it was falling apart and not too crunchy as you expect a fish and chip would look like, which is crispy. It was also slightly oily, and my sweet potato fries were a bit soggy and not crispy or maybe that's just how sweet potatoes are when fried. Atmosphere-wise, it was cozy, and customer service was excellent. I understand it's a restaurant & bar. However, the place smelt like cigarettes since people come in and out of the building to smoke. I still recommend this place for others to try!

Went for the live music and it was a lot of fun. Neighborhood bar atmosphere. Music was excellent. I would go back.

First i just want to say thank you for host lady! She was super friendly and professional despite the crowding, she was the only person how service all the tables.
Drinks are good, food is disaster! Dry! Or not cooked well! Like the chef doesn’t care at all!
Not only my dish all the dishes, i got the same complaint from my friends!

Finally decided to visit his iconic place in Hamilton. Small venue with huge menu. 2 sides of item after item. One side of seafood and one side of no seafood. Tried several items. They were delicious. Small selection of draft beer. Riley served us. She was fabulous. Well it was a great visit that will make me go back again need to try chicken wings on Mondays. Thanks

Tres belle experience dans ce resto, nous avons pris plusieurs entrées, elles etaient excellentes sauf les moules que nous n’avons pas apprécié, la serveuse nous a gentiment proposé de nous les changer. Le service est irreprochable.

I was looking for a place to have a bite after a long day of work, and this is what we found. We went to this place at 12am and I'm glad to know that they have a late night menu and that their kitchen was still open. The food is what you would typically expect at a regular bar. However, their Brie and Fig (Subbed with a Jam as they were out) was great. I especially liked how it came with garlic parmesan fries with Aioli dip. We also ordered their wings, which was satisfying, but didn't feel spicy enough. Their esspresso martini was great and gave a nice kick of energy for the remainder of the night. Overall, they place is great to go to, and I will definitely revisit during their regular hours.

Staff are great and the food is amazing. We make One Duke our favorite place to eat in the Durand area of Hamilton.

Oh boy oh boy- I closed one of my biggest business deals ever at One Duke restaurant when I used to live down the street from on Duke Street. Now this was almost 10 years ago today I had their oysters and their salmon. OMG I completely forgot how wonderful this place is. I did go there once with a chickadee (recruit) because we were looking for oysters, but they had run out.
I completely understand why! This is so good! I will also include the order I placed to get all of the stuff on Uber Eats so you guys know exactly what to order if this is what you want. The hot/suicide sauces from snooty fox in westdale
It’s a really good pairing to be honest with you and I am pairing it with in terms of alcohol: with a rosé from electric diner. Rosé complements the spice really beautifully and the salmon also is just SO delicious.
ALSO can we just take a note of their packaging? It’s amazing the fact that they actually separated the protein and the carbs side is such a thoughtful touch. When I am finally not exhausted enough to be functional, I will definitely go in person and dine in and get the experience but until then I will be ordering on Uber:)

Will never go back. Drinks were bad we were served expired clamato in our ceasars, they were out of almost everything on the menu so selection was bad. My blackened chicken dish tasted liked a dish of salt it was horrible. My gf fish an chips also lacked flavor. Service was also disappointing

Great service, good food, menu needs some work.
First time eating here. We enjoyed the patio. The waitress was so nice, welcoming and attentive. The menu was so expansive, needs some reigning in, and cost ranges from $14-$100. We settled on pizza and fish and chips. Both were delicious.

I was wonderfully surprised, this hidden gem on Duke at James was superb. I had the Mexican shrimp cocktail and chicken Ceasar salad. Brilliant and fresh. The server was pleasant and the atmosphere was laid back. I most certainly will be back to try the mussles. Good job.

Nice cozy place. Staff was friendly. We had fish and chips, muscles, and oysters. Could have used fresh horseradish for the oysters. Food was very good. Draft was a bit warm. Want to try more items. Will definitely go again!

Went for dinner and was looking forward to a nice date night. Food and drinks were good. No complaints there. The ambiance itself was destroyed by a bunch of rowdy guys at the bar who couldn’t keep it down. Not the restaurants fault but staff could have told them to tone it down while people were trying to enjoy their dinner. I will go back but maybe only for the patio which seemed more chill.

Cheyenne was absolutely fabulous we came in late however we were so lucky to find this little gem and have an absolutely fabulous tiny little feast and we did nothing but the nachos of course beef because who else would order anything else on nachos! Love love love

Greasy delicious soft and crunchy at the same time french fries. Giant hand made burger patties. Well seasoned food.

The food was great and our server was so nice and efficient. The decor could need a bit of freshening up but it was a great place to eat which is the main attraction. We will return.

The service staff is great but the kitchen is the absolute worst. Never on time. Today our server is trying to push wings because that’s all she knows how to cook and they are open with zero kitchen staff. I wish this was the first time this was the case. Last time we were here I had a hair in my food. Don’t waste your time. If they want to ‘make it’ there needs to be a huge step change.

Fish and chips good, chicken ceaser salad great. But like a lot of restaurants their prices are high

Long time customer of One Duke. Been going for over a decade. The food has always been good.and there are times the service has been as well.
This time it was ok.for their own benefit they could have sold at least 2 more rounds if they'd have been more attentive.

Chicken parmigiana and pizza was not good. Nachos were decent but should be for $20+. Mario Kart in the waiting area is fun though. Probably more for the late night crowd than dinner

They used Montreal steak spice to rim my ceaser. The lemon in it was like was sitting the bottom of dish for a week. Apps were okay, would of been better if they changed thier oil. Like it hasn't been changed in a month.

My wife loved her Steak, cooked to perfection and I very much enjoyed their Chicken Parm! Very tasty eats!

They desperately need to change their oil. They used Montreal steak spice to rim my ceaser and used a mushy old lemon. Main were disappointing but apps were good.
