What a beautiful place to stay. Centrally located, with access to the underground and a beautiful bank vault walkthrough.

From a service perspective, it was great. All the staff were incredibly friendly and competent. We paid a little for a room upgrade, and it was well worth it.

Instead of going out at night, we opted to stay at the hotel after dinner. The tub was great, the bed was comfortable, and the room had a great view of the city. I wouldn't change a thing.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great atmosphere, nice rooms and view. Was very busy in the lobby area and couldn’t check in at requested time but overall still very happy with our stay and will be back!

The reception is beautiful, and the location is fantastic. The CN Tower and the train station are both within walking distance.
Our rooms were on the 29th floor, and we had a fantastic view!

I didn't award this hotel five stars since I believe the rooms may use some updating. It gets old; for the cleaning aspect, we had a small fridge, but it wasn't really clean.
Also, unlike the other hotels I'd stayed at, there was no welcome set. We didn't even have a bottle of water, which was shocking given such a long journey and the sum we spent for this hotel…

I was here for a wedding. I have been here before for a conference. Great facility! Just could not be better. The bar is located where the tellers used to be. Original ceiling paintings, arched walkways, just great!

The food was fantastic! I mean you get what you order, but the multi course meal was really good. But the service. The service! From Makhita (sp) who checked me in to the staff working here are just too notch! I spoke to some of the staff and they had nothing but praise for their manager who was in charge at the November 11 wedding. I tried to catch her to thank her, but she was always on the move! The staff were polite, attentive and cheerful! Now, the staff did say that this crowd was the nicest bunch that they have had in a while. I argue, we were having such a good time, thanks to the staff! Well done.
No pictures of the rooms, but they are okay. We had one in the historic wing. My biggest criticism was the beds! I thought we were getting two Queens, but they were two doubles!
Now width was not a big problem, but the length? My feet were hanging over the end of the bed! Anyway, first world problems.good place!

Pretty good Downtown Toronto location with a PATH access via the vault/underground floor. This hotel has two different types of room both in the "Tower Building" section of the building that has views above 20+ floors that you can see great Downtown Toronto and/or Lake Ontario views. The lower part of the building is the "Historic Suites" in the Historic Dominion Bank Building.

Whether or not you book via Hotels.ca or their direct site, it was seamless check-in process. During health protocols, you fill out form via a QR code for contact tracing and COVID/health form. If there's extra units, sometimes they upgrade you for free. Check in is at 3pm (but sometimes it's ready before hand). Check out is at 11am. With pandemic protocols, you'll need to keep your card to swipe for access to the suites/elevators. Also during protocols, they are limiting 2 people per elevators (which does add to the waiting time). Once checked in, you'll get a text message for their service team. You can interact with their help/service desk via text message or phone. Pretty responsive!

One visit was for a staycation in their Tower Premium Suite (~542 sq.ft) which has a view of city or lake view, bigger studio layout of 1 king size bed, sofa, coffee table, desk/chair, and kitchenette. The unit we got was the end unit on the floor which had much more space and has that more "premium" feel. Their kitchenette with a dishwasher, mini-fridge and tub made it feel like you were home. We had a very great view of Lake Ontario. We were comfortable with bringing food back to enjoy in our unit and enjoy a stay-in movie.

Another visit had the Tower Deluxe Suite (~346-430 sqft) which has views of city or lake view as well, smaller studio layout of 1 king size bed, sofa, desk/chair, and kitchenette. We had a dishwasher concern while we stayed for 4 nights. Unfortunately, they could not fix it and was overbooked so they did not compensate us for this inconvenience.

Other notes, Ice and Vending Machine is on the 12th floor. Lobby has their restaurant as well if you don’t want to travel far. They also have lots of rentable areas like a Gallery/Boardroom space. There’s also the TD Vault for your viewing as well of the history in the building which is cool. They also have two sets of elevators, 1 set for the Historical building with floors going up to 13 floors and 1 set for the Tower Elevators.

I am supposed to be check-in Nov 12 to 14,2023. I chose this hotel over others using my Asia Miles points. We checked-in almost 6pm and we were out 730p because we received some bad news that my son was involved in a motor vehicle accident. We had to go to him immediately in the hospital. I explained to the Manager the reason we were leaving immediately but was not helpful and said that I should talk to Asia Miles not him, and that one night will be automatically charged.
I was hoping we could use the two nights' stay some other time. But with the stressful situation we were in, there was no consideration at all from the management.
Very disappointing customer service for a so-called 4-star hotel.

I am just reading other peoples' reviews. When a high rating is given there is a response from the Management. When you are not satisfied there is no response at all.

Overall, we had a good experience at One King West. Good location, impressive lobby. Staff at the check-in desk were efficient.
Special mention to the porter/concierge Mathew, who is a legend and was super charming and helpful to us.

Rooms are fairly tired and need some updating, particularly the bathrooms. The air conditioning was very noisy, so I did not sleep particularly well. We found it helpful to have the fridge and also the washing machine for clothes laundry. The spa is small but tidy. We had a fun time in Toronto and were happy at One King West.

Great spot. Best part of trip was our visit to Red Rock Cannabis at 6 Church St. As soon as we dropped our bags we went to get some herb. Staff helped us navigate the Canadian market and we left with some gas! We went back for breakfast the next day.go check them out!

Beautiful place to stay in downtown, the room has more than we need ; kitchen, office table by the window, nice comfy bed, I enjoyed the deep bath up.

Still waiting for the refund of the deposit. It's been more than a month without any answer from the customer service.

The view was nice and the check in/out process was easy. Suite was clean and in a convenient location.
01 January 2022 22:15
By far the best customer service I have had. I had a hotel cancel my reservations and this hotel literally saved me! Has a kitchenette which is also a plus! Highly recommend to anyone visiting, and I already have plans to return. The Bal D'Afrique is AMAZING!

If you’re a travel worker and you want to feel like home.this is the right place. Perfect WiFi connection and a very energetic view.
All beautiful and very kind staff. No doubt where to stay next time in Toronto!
20 December 2021 22:08
Every time we visit this hotel we are upgraded to a beautiful suite. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. Would highly recommend.
20 December 2021 2:17
An elegant hotel with fantastic rooms with kitchen facilities with amazing views of the lake and the financial district.
Restaurant in site and a 10 min walk to the CN tower, 5 min walk to the Toronto square and within walking distance to the train station.

I highly recommend this hotel. Great for nearby Hockey events. Also the staff at1 King Street West were fabulous! Restaurant was great great service and food. Will stay here again!

I booked my employee who lives out of town into this hotel. They were unable to use their debit card as a deposit and I phoned in advance to use my credit card for a deposit. Neither was excepted. I provided a company card to them personally to use. This was not accepted at 12am to check into the room. When we spoke to them on the phone the attendant hung up the phone mid-conversation and informed my employee the room was cancelled. Leaving them stranded in Toronto in the early morning hours.

This hotel discriminates against those without credit (many others accept debit or cash as a deposit).

The hostile manner in which they treated my employee was unacceptable.

I don’t usually do reviews but I felt that people should know what to expect when arriving at this hotel.

First it’s right downtown so there is no place to park before checking in or speaking with valet parking. My husband pulled to side on Miranda St.while I went to valet parking to find out they didn’t have any parking for SUV’s, they only had parking for cars. Crazy, Right! You can park a full size car but not a SUV.

What they should do is give people the option to reserve a parking spot when booking at this hotel or at the least let people know that SUV parking is limited. If we would have known about parking we would have brought our Honda Civic instead of our Honda SUV.

I was told by valet they were very sorry but I could use another parking garage on Wellington Street, around the corner. This garage didn’t have signs posted for overnight costs, only 6 pm to 6 am. Who parks between those hrs. When we picked up our car the next morning it costs us $76.00 for 17 hrs of parking 4 pm to 9 am. OMG. Again, to keep their guests happy they should, at the very least, have alternative parking options printed on paper that their valet staff can give to their guests with addresses and full costs so people know what they can expect when arriving in a city that they rarely visit.

Upon check-in they had us fill out a Covid survey, which is fine. But, again they should have sent us the link the day before so this survey could have been completed before check-in. The lobby is tiny and there isn’t enough room to accommodate answering on-line surveys and socially distance. Again, crazy!

They didn’t have adequate signage for elevators. One set goes to 1-6 and another set goes from 7-16… we had to go back to front desk to find out what bank of elevators to use to get to our room. Once at the proper elevators were found they were only allowing 1 person in the elevator at a time. OMG, do you know how long it took to get up to our room and then again to leave the hotel. It would have been nice if they told us where stairs were.

Finally, the room doors are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the halls. We were awoken all night long. Worst stay of my life. Lastly, they took a 250 deposit at the time of check- in and I had to call them seven days later to get them to release it from on my Visa card. I was told to call my card carrier myself and give them a approved number to release. Ridiculous!

The character in the hotel was very charming and the room was a great size with a beautiful view. The room was very clean with a little kitchenette, microwave and fridge to make your stay feel more home-like. My only issue with the stay was the parking cost of $50 and when asking hotel staff for near by parking options, no one could make any recommendations. I did find a underground parking garage near by for only $14 a day! I think the hotel should partner with a underground parking garage to accommodate the guest who can’t park in valet due to the cost or just valet being full (which it fills up quickly).

Mauvais service.

Great experience overall, really good food from the restaurant. Amazing bed and amenities in the room. The elevators are really slow in the newer building you have to be patient. Always try to get a room with a city view as internal hotel view rooms kinda suck. Other than that I highly recommend this place.

It's lovely hotel in middle of downtown Toronto. Have no complain other than no room service because of covid
22 April 2021 13:23
Even during Covid times, we can still find respite - and I found it at the 1 King West. I stayed 2 nights, and the second night was bumped up to the 41st floor with incredible views. Service was great.

Everything is perfect!

Kevin is offering an excellent service.

Strongly recommended One King West!

This was an amazing getaway pick. Glad we chose this.was our first time here but definitely not the last.
16 March 2021 21:47
We were charged on the day of booking despite choosing to pay at property. We were also charged on the wrong card. When we arrived our room card did not work so we had to be moved to another room. Online the room description said Smart HDTV and it was not a smart TV and staff informed that they do not have any Smart TV's despite the room description. The first person to speak to on the phone was very rude and interrupted mid sentence to put me on hold luckily the next member of staff on the phone was very nice and apologetic. Lastly after checking out we were charged incorrectly and had to request a refund. One positive is the hotel was very responsive on the request for refund.

I called the hotel twice to make sure everything was set up for my elderly mom who doesn't speak English to stay the night. I even left my name and # for them to call if anything was wrong. My mom who traveled 12 hours was turned away and had to take a cab from Toronto to Windsor. No one called me and when I called them to see if she arrived they told me she left in a cab. Horrible experience and the manager didn't even care. Said no notes or # were left on the file but could see the wake up call I asked for. Again horrible experience don't recommend staying here at all. Shame on you to treat a senior this way.

Great hotel! Love it.but sometimes the layout can be a bit.odd. But thankfully the furniture rolls around so it's easy to change it up! Furniture quality is top notch and room includes utensils. Like glass hahaha. Manager is a cool guy! He was nice enough to change my room during a busy day. Hotel is a great place to unwind. Pe@ce!

Great hotel with good customer service and clean. We stayed in Historic building suite of this hotel. Hotel rates are reasonable. Will definitely go back.
12 February 2019 7:18
Beautiful hotel with amazing city views. The lobby and ambience all resound of Toronto’s historic financial district.

The rooms are small but plenty for two, and the suites have everything you need including working stoves, cutlery, fridge, etc.

Do yourself a favour and make your way down to the vault! It’s massive and photo worthy!
06 February 2019 11:12
Stayed here twice. Good staff first time around, horrible staff second time around. Condescending, judgemental. Will not be staying here and neither will my contacts
05 February 2019 7:12
One of my all time favourite hotels. The location is central which is a huge plus! The rooms are perfectly designed. The hotel itself is intimate and elegant.
26 January 2019 1:42
Good price but the WiFi barely worked. Had to call their “toll-free” tech support and got dinged with a $0.75 charge. Still had trouble with the WiFi. Bed was comfortable, seemed a little bit smaller than a normal king though. While I normally like feather pillows, these ones seemed more hard and lumpy. Starbucks coffee in the room was a treat. HVAC didn’t work very well. Found it cold in the room even with the heat set high. Trendy lobby and nice high ceilings in the room. Would stay again but they need to look into the WiFi and heating.
20 January 2019 20:52
I stayed at the 39th floor, the room was perfect size, more like studio, the view was amazing, location is perfect.u may walk to dowtown, and if u need to go far the metro is right across the street
20 January 2019 19:14
The staff were very pleasant and professional. For the new year weekend they were able to accomodate my request for a suite with a lakeside view and highest floor for my suite type. Not my first visit, and certainly won't be my last.
16 January 2019 8:48
Even the lobby is classy. Overall the place was visibly old but well maintained, the room was modern and clean, and the staff practically bent over backwards to be friendly and helpful. I only needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights during a business trip, so I did not have time to check out the fitness facilities, spa, or any of the more luxurious offerings. The room rate was a great value for all that was offered.
14 January 2019 14:54
I stayed here on my honeymoon night before taking a flight and i must say i was very disappointed, but thats probably my fault expecting more from a non-corporate hotel. The checkin was simple, but i had asked for a special room for the honeymoon night and ended up in a regular room with 0 candles and a rose on the bed. The room was basic and i had asked for late checkout which they agreed to but was yhe next morning they basically forced us out by sending the room keeper up and then stating that we wernt on the list for late checkouts and that the room needed to be clean for the next client.

Overall the view was nice, but the service and quality of room left much to be desired, especially considering the amount i paid.
08 January 2019 1:38
Stayed here for a few days on a business trip. Great views from the 39th floor. Beautifully restored bank. Loved the atmosphere in the lobby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Just up from the lake shore. Right on Yonge Street. Just minutes from a wide variety of attractions, restaurants, and shopping outlets.
04 January 2019 23:23
Suites contain small fridge, 2 burner stove cutlery, plates and a dish washer, microwave kettle, washing machine and dryer. Am not sure if and all do but I was pleasantly surprised. Right opposite king station. Easy walk to union. Stretch stops just outside and plenty banks nearby. 7 mins to eaton mall. Inside was clean and staff were very helpful
04 January 2019 4:29
This hotel really ruined my stay as I booked this hotel for my birthday and wasn’t even allowed to have more than 4 people in a room (I invited 4 of my closest friends. Along with my boyfriend and myself we were 6.so 2 of my friends weren’t allowed in). We were quiet, polite, and were planning to leave early in the evening for reservations anyways and they still wouldn’t make an exception. The security was extremely rude and very condescending. I wish I spoke with the manager. Please don’t go here as Toronto has several amazing hotels, but this definitely was not one of them.

UPDATE: Due to the fact I cannot reply to Steve's comment, I just want to say that no one -conveniently- informed me of this cap on the room prior to paying my non refundable booking. I was presented with this upon my arrival at check in given no choice but to sign or lose my deposit. When my peers and I asked if an exception could be made, since we were respectful and quiet, security treated us with utter contempt, which is just simply NOT ok! Shockingly terrible and disappointing service; don't waste your time.

Beautiful building, with beautiful rooms, super friendly and welcoming staff. Great for a staycation. The bar in the main lobby offers great cocktails however the day bartenders are frequently unfriendly. Cool heritage building, with a neat vault in the lower level.
18 December 2018 8:08
The hotel was clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the city and lake from the 46 floor. The room was very quiet and I was able to get a good night's sleep without disruption.
21 November 2018 15:57
Definitely one of the better hotels I have stayed at in recent memory. Only had a couple problems with it, none of which hindered our experience enough to give it less than 5 stars. The location is a great walking distance from most attractions you will want to go to in Toronto, the price is reasonable considering all you get, and the rooms definitely felt like you got your money's worth. Only two problems was the bathroom door lock was not working but I was with my partner so I wasn't too worried about privacy, and the access point for internet caused issues. Luckily all I had to do was unplug it and I could simply connect to another access point so it wasn't that big of a deal. Overall, this was a great hotel and I'd more than certainlu consider returning.
