I love this place! They have a great selection of spices, sauces, and other ingredients for Indian cuisine. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. The store is clean and well-organized, and they always have fresh products. I highly recommend Onkar Foods & Spices Inc for anyone who loves cooking or eating Indian food. They have everything you need to make delicious dishes at home.
Feel like home and it's a nostalgic feeling. I felt like I am in India. Please are so nice and the prices are affordable. I went to get Diwali sweets. Its awesome
Very bad attitude of the staff especially at food counter. The lady who usually takes order makes faces at the customer. They talk to each other and laugh looking at the customer. They don’t listen to order properly. They take more than an hour for small order like one paratha. All the items the store sells are overpriced (you can compare with other similar stores in the area).
Always loved the TeaMonkey collection of Teas they have at their store. My parents are a fan of Immune Tea. It’s available towards the right side when you enter the store
Best samosas in Kitchener! Other dishes such as papri chaat, halva puri, are great. But saag is not good. Items in fridge such as yoghurt are not always fresh. Lots of desi items available. Carts are always busy. Long lineup for food when busy.
I can't say it's a proper 5 star rating because my experience here has been limited to a small portion of what the place has to offer as a whole but in as far as my limited dealings go it's definitely 5 stars. Personally I go for the Samosas. Nicely made, great flavour, proper fresh, and good price. Generally I don't like big samosas because I find the shell tends to be too thick and the ratio of dough to filling is off. Here though they do them right. They're big, the shell is nice and not too thick, and they're stuffed nicely. And if you have a few extra put em in the fridge because even a couple days later they're still nice and good. Definitely my go-to place for Samosas!
You don't need to read all reviews.the kitchen staff and owner is too rude.they don't respect customer cuase.sales will be always high in indian stores
1. Sweet was stale and she gives by hand not wearing gloves 2. Lady in the kitchen, is showing rude face to me. She gave order to other lady before me who skipped the line 3.i order 2 aloo paratha and she asked me to wait for 30 minutes and l got it after 50 min 4.one lady was wearing dupatta and her dupatta was touching food 6. Chhole bhature was sweet, and sweet was stale. Not tasty food 7. When I complained owner, some one else was already complaint about dead spider in pastry
So, if you want spitting food and get disrespected by paying money, this is the place. I was regular customer, once in a week but I will never go here
Worst place ever! No customer service and way of talking and dealing with customer is very bad! I ordered for pick up and they gave me time 3: 15 and when i reached the lady said your time is 4: 00 and the way she talking is totally low quality!
The samosas, pakoras and especially the chutneys are very famous here and fresh and tasty too. However with their increased popularity they have reduced the filling inside the samosas which sucks
Samosa are fresh and tasty, not as spicy as they should be but good for everyone. I tried વેગ Manchurian dry today and was good. Parantha are also good.
We told her to put 1 pound of sweets but she amount us the same charges and also not provide us 1 pound. It's very disappointing to charge more as compare to its quantity.
This is an awesome place to get Chana Bathuras, samosas and veggie pakoras. Quality is always good. Even specific Indian food/grocery items are also available here
This store has everything you will need for Indian cooking including fresh vegetables. Staff is always helpful & polite. They also have the BEST Samosas in tricity and beyond. All my relatives love there Samosas and we always buy them in bulk because who wants less samosas Prices can be better though
This is Indian Groceries store but this place is more popular because of their Samosas, they taste good but one thing is annoying they also charge for chutney. I haven't seen charge for chutney anywhere, you should charge customers extra if they ask you extra chutney but for a single piece also you are charging customers it's really not cool. Your Samosas taste saved you bcz of this, it felt like McDonald's started charging for ketchup with fries and burgers.
**ONLY SAMOSA REVIEW** I've heard from people that their Samosas are really good and recentlyI tried it and I would say their samosa was really good, best samosas I've ever had in Canada, Will update this review once I try their other snacks.
As a grocery store they are okay, but for their fast food they are awesome specially their samosas. They need to improve their customer service a bit because they run really busy on their restaurant side.
A bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it if you have no other Indian grocery places around you. The samosas were superb, and definitely worth a revisit.
Excellent produce and fair prices. Excellent dried goods. The staff smile and engage in conversation. Top notch establishment. Thank you Onkar for your many years of quality service. You have a wonderful staff. I wish you many more years of success. Thank you
As a grocery store - its alright with great options of Indian items. As a restaurant this place is famous for their amazing samosa - must try. However, if you want to order other items on their restaurant menu be prepared to wait for 15-20min as they are usually super busy with limited staff. Service can be definitely improved given the demand to make that part of experience perfect like how their food tastes.
Pathetic service …. They let me wait for 20 min for samosas though it was already there and they are giving priority to other customer…. Not at all recommended
A good place where you get a variety of fresh Indian vegetables and sweets. Samosa from Onkar is a must try. All stuffs are friendly and really helpful.
Good place to fetch each and every ingredient required for lndian cooking along with ready made Indian sweets and popular snacks. But needs bit of organising and tidying.
I am very picky when come to food and taste. Also I dont write fault reviews to mislead others. I highly recommend to this store and try theire samosas. Very tasty, delicious and fresh. Theire samosas sold within half hour. Make fresh every hour. They deserve 5 star.
Staff is very respectful to everyone. Its No 1 indian food store in Kitchener and Waterloo.we have to always travel to Kitchener or Waterloo to visit their stores. They must have one store in Cambridge.
A racist place I stand there more then the rest of Indians, i also try to ask question they walk pass me but some how an Indian man got a help.not a nice place wouldn't recommend anybody who have a different ethnicity than them
Don’t forget their hot food section! The samosas are heavenly. I tried their samosa chaat the other day and it did not disappoint. Large portions, excellent taste and affordable. The desserts are also really delicious
If you are near Kitchener and wish to have a delicious Samosa or a samosa Chaat.this is the place to go. We got some gujiyas from here. They tasted amazing. Just that unlike Toronto certain items in the store were a bit on the higher side.like the pickle dat I get for $2.50 was for $4.50. But overall good store
Samosa are average taste. Size is okay. 2 stars because First time ever in life I found a place where chutney isn't included with samosa You have to pay extra. Not even little bit. It's like paying extra for gravy when I buy poutine lol.
A great store if you are interested in Indian food. A good selection of ready to eat packaged food that I like to buy. A branch of a chain with several stores in the region.
