The staff members are friendly and helpful although the Disability system could supply there clients with my financial help the people that are on Disability do not get enough funding

Have been trying to get ahold of someone for 3 weeks now with no response from my worker the receptionist on the other hand has been very helpful God bless her

I've lived in oshawa for 8 years and have not once talked to me case worker. I've tried multiple times to contact her and she has never returned my calls.you could assume that they are just consumed by case-loads.or.people like me are just numbers and are being treated as such.

Kind staff, easily accessible building and washrooms. Staff are prompt and easily available to help.

What is wrong with these workers?
I used to live in Orillia.
I would get call backs within 24hrs but usually same day.
The workers were friendly, helpful and treated you like a human.
They would go above and beyond for you.
Unfortunately when I moved to Oshawa I was not met with anything of the sort.
I call and call my worker is always “away from her desk” which is completely fine but I think that she should probably call me back when I leave her 4 messages. I mean maybe she tried to call me, but why not leave a message? My rent went up $20 due to yearly increase. I called her about 4 or 5 times and left messages telling her the situation and that she could call me to verify or whatever needs to be done. Anyways I think it’s ridiculous the way they deal with us (or lack thereof)
I also don’t understand why the difference between Orillia, is so big.
Its not okay.
Oshawa needs to hire some more people who know how to deal with the public, and maybe some competent workers that will actually do the job of handling people.
And please don’t say that you are short staffed,

My worker has no concept on how to do their job. She kept cutting off my benefits over the 2 years I was in college while on "second career" education. It didn't matter that she had a copy of the government contract. She always gave me a run around with a superior attitude. Because of her, I learned to contact Jennifer French, my MPP for assistance.

Horrible Center for Disabled people that have taken over a year or two just to send in an application that still hasn’t been finished due to lack of response and communication. If you for some reason decide to go here and get case worker Rhonda Whittaker then get a new one. She will everytime have her phone set to answering machine and even if she is in the office she will not pick up. The mainline will even tell you she is in but refuse to pass the phone to her. To get in contact with her I have even had to call managaement directly who also rarely picks up the phone (but is still more then Rhonda’s 0 return calls). Honestly have felt horrible the past year due to the lack of humanity in this office. The fact they won’t even pick up a disabled persons phone call is disheartening to say the least. I recommend avoiding this disability office at all costs.

This “program” is extremely anti-family and will takes away your benefits if your partner is working. They do not care about you or your unique circumstances. All they care is paying you as little as possible and finding any excuse to do so. Also the benefits they expect us to live on are absolutely abysmal and they act like it’s doing us favours. Avoid at all costs.

Anytime I call, no answer, or extra long waiting on hold.phone calls NEVER returned! I have to chase after my kids worker.ugh

Terrible service! No one answers calls. No one replies to emails. Lost benefits 3 months ago due to error and still not able to rectify the issues. Just go to the office if you need help!

They don't reply to you whether it's through phone or email and they take forever to process your documents and application.

Now your wondering why I gave them 5 stars so. Deli g with a government agency such as ODSP you will unfortunately find individuals that maybe having a bad day or just hate their jobs but my experience with a worker whom I won't name here but this Gentleman. He would go out of his way to help me.

Sometimes you get good workers other times you don't it's happened to me.but there are very good ways to deal with and get your way (should what your seeking be the right thing for you and you've followed the steps)

Don't get upset at ODSP if you fail to fill out paperwork you're lucky that this exists here and I am grateful even though it took me TEN YEARS TO GET APPROVED, this was also rejected so I appealed and started the following.

I worked and paid taxes into these programs in the event I become ill and not able to work I said how dare you deny me that right I told the reverse that ruling or I'll see you in court with my lawyer to sue it out of you. I know that I had every reason to be accepted (however within 7 days they reversed that decision and said come by ASAP we have some checks and paperwork to fill out.

I have some 12 physical and mental issues that are not fun. I had no lawyer lol but I knew that I was right and no judge would have sided with ODSP I payed into ODSP via taxes so if I was ever injured I could have this to help me get by.

Be smart and sure of yourself be polite and respectful when you're not treated like that you must call a supervisor and believe me if a social worker whom isn't doing his job believe me that will change in a single phone call.

Seek help do research and do the paperwork!
They're giving you money and rent and other benefits like do your work seriously if you're not going to put in the effort maybe reconsider what got you to this point!

Be patient I was on hold for 18 minutes but then got a very courteous worker who resolved my problem in minutes. Believe me it was worth the wait.

I love my caseworker. I feel very lucky to have her as I know it can be a hit or miss sometimes with someone that doesn't care or empathize here. Please give my caseworker a raise or something because she is sent from heaven

I waited 2 hours 30 mins on the phone just to talk to a person today and ask a question! Very horrible! April 28,2022 at 12: 00 PM I called, got through finally at 2: 32PM! Understaffed? Of just too lazy to answer the phones?

I don't know if these people are unorganized or straight up deluded and refusing to do their jobs. I made every possible attempt to contact my case worker. Zero response. They finally call and say the case worker got rid of all my paperwork and I have to restart the ENTIRE process because they "didn't hear from me". These people DO NOT care about disabled people.

Very helpful staff. Make sure you have made an appointment otherwise you may be waiting for a while.
