Went Tuesday evening. The wait was to be 1-2 hours, they gave me a pager so I could go to my car, friendly staff, attentive and even called me with resultsa from an xray that showed no damage.
18 September 2023 4:08
Literally waiting 2plus weeks for the doctor to review x-rays.

Overall the nurses are really nice
1-1.5hr wait not too bad.
16 September 2023 18:20
Walk in during their hours, with no other patients waiting to be seen inside the clinic. From there, we are told that we need an appointment for an emergency. Please properly explain to me how I would be able to book a foreseen an emergency? Thank you.
02 September 2023 22:06
In & out in under 30mins. Receptionist friendly, polite & good at her job, saw doc also polite & efficient.sent prescription across the hall got my asthma inhaler before i left the building.
28 June 2023 15:47
Horrible experience. This clinic should be banned after receiving so many 1 star ratings. I don’t want to pass an offensive comment, but the lady doctor is from hell. She is rude, arrogant, inhuman, and incompetent. She should not be allowed to practice. If you happen to visit the clinic when it’s about to close, better die than seeking help from this lady doctor. She keeps you waiting, keep laughing with her staff instead of seeing the patient who rushed in with an emergency. If she is afraid of prescribing medicines what the heck is she doing in medicine? I wish I could give ZERO stars.
14 June 2023 22:21
Worst clinic and service ever, the lady from the reception is absolutely terrible, not friendly, not helpful, not caring at all…can’t believe this kind of people get front desk jobs, I will never go back again…I would give minus stars if I could

Horrible experience here at Onyx, the receptionist was very rushy but not rude. The medical assistant and the Dr.were from hell, I could hear them discussing my issues in the hallway and the Dr.used profanity very loudly in the hallway. When she arrived in the room her attitude was poor and aggressive I almost thought I knew her personally. She even told me that she only have 5 minutes in the room with me and has to tend to other patients, I’m like what does that have to do with me? Horrible staff, horrible clinic, tiny uncomfortable dirty rooms, and horrible attitudes. I wish I had saved my money and go elsewhere because my visit here was not worth it neither was it resolved. I would never set foot here again, I didn’t even feel safe I questioned their credentials these persons can’t be real doctors and if they are they need to go to classes for professionalism. I would not recommend this clinic to my worst enemy! Stay away from here there are many other urgent care clinics that treat you way better than Onyx. If I had stayed in this clinic one second longer I would’ve told the Dr.how I felt and it wouldn’t have been very nice. I left unhappy and went to another clinic and had the best experience.
21 May 2023 20:27
First time being to this clinic. The receptionist and nurses were all friendly, attentive and professional. Didn't feel rushed at all. Dr Conte has a wonderful bedside manner. He listened to what I had to say and explained his diagnosis as well as what steps we were going to take moving forward. He also taught me something! Highly recommend!
21 May 2023 9:45
I walked in with a head injury at 840pm on a Wednesday. According to the website and Google profile, they should be open. I was told by the receptionist that walk-ins at that time were not accepted, and I was sent away.
If you don't want to work late, please update the opening hours. This is not what one expects in need of urgent care.
17 May 2023 21:15
Extremely rude and unprofessional receptionist! If you are in a bad mood, take a day off, dont yell at people especially seniors. If i could give this review a 0, i would!
09 May 2023 6:45
Ideally I'd give a 4 to the nurse and the doc that I saw, and I would give a negative score to the very angry woman who works at the front desk. She definitely wants every person that comes in to know that they are an incredible inconvenience to her. She was exceptionally rude to a couple who clearly are new to Canada and don't yet speak English. She asked me why my appointment was coded wrong in their calendar (they booked it, I did not book it online). If you don't like people, it's probably a good idea to choose a career outside of healthcare? Folks are coming to this clinic with sensitive issues and some people have doctor induced anxiety and she just outright sucks at being a human.
My reco is: Don't visit this clinic if rude people get under your skin easily. Otherwise, once you pay the troll toll, the rest of the staff are fantastic and understanding and patient. I make it my goal to be sickly sweet to her every time I visit. I hope she reads this:) Maybe she needs a hug?
09 May 2023 5:38
Great clinic, wait is long most day which is to be expected. But can someone please do something and fix the flicking lights, be it for the poor Receptionist, the patients. What if someone with Epilepsy comes in?
03 May 2023 18:47
Been here 3 times.always great service by staff and the doctor (s). Takes the time listens to their patients.
12 April 2023 10:00
Great facility, friendly and clean. The wait time was fair considering the health care crisis we are facing right now. Every team member has made my child and I feel very comfortable during our visit. Thanks ONYX team!
12 April 2023 1:28
Can’t get hold of clinic manager need receipts with ohip code on it, coming to clinic for 6 months, have mailed called lots of times no answer at all
Please don’t go to this clinic
02 April 2023 22:00
I don't even live in Kitchener nore Waterloo, but this is my favourite clinic. When I have a health concern, I travel all the way to them. Doctors are fast also direct. Receptionist is amazingly patient and very accommodating. I experience horrible anxiety around doctors and doctors offices. They always put me at ease. A+ never go to another clinic this one's the best!
11 March 2023 18:51
This is my go to clinic, staff was very helpful and friendly, hours are convenient along with the pharmacy right inside
24 February 2023 23:12
There is usually 2.5 to 3 hours wait time, which is okay but loud music had been playing and doctor was in rush standing on the doorway with hand on the door handle. I was trying tell my issue and she was dismissive. I hardly got 60 secs to explain my issue. I mean you need to hear our issue thoroughly for correct diagnosis.
I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Meenakshi Natarajan and given wrong medication horrible horrible experience.
Earlier this clinic use to be very good but now things has changed drastically and going downhill Mostly staff is changed now.
Receptionist was also not very friendly she is really loud ofcourse they were playing loud music inside the clinic so ofcourse they need to speak loud to get heard.
Nurses are really really good and friendly.
In past I gave this clinic 5 stars but I think now 1 star is too much.
Very disappointed and disheartened.

I had gut feeling that she gave me wrong medicines since I hv some past medical history so I called another clinic next morning doc give me allergy medicine instead and immediately stop all the other medication Dr. Meenakshi gave me, also she laughed on her diagnosis and assured me that I don’t need to worry it’s just an allergy I didn’t caught any uncurable skin desease as Dr. Meenakshi suggested. Also she said you don’t get those kind skin desese just like that.
Never going to this clinic again when Dr Meenakshi is there.
Horrible experience.
18 February 2023 0:35
I have been to Onyx many times and most times I can give a 5 star review.
I visited on Sunday evening of 1-15-23 and I think the worst secretary I have ever met was on duty. All I can say is rude and ignorant. She should get a job more suitable for her terrible personality. I left without saying a word I was so in awe about the experience. I'll go back but if I go and the same secretary is working I'll turn around and leave. Unbelievable personality or no personality may be the word.
28 November 2022 6:04
There is no order how the patient is being treated. No matter how early you come you still have to wait for atleast 3 hours. Only come to this location if you have a spare time or unless its very very urgent and you don’t have any other option.
12 November 2022 6:22
Very bad service. Nobody answers the call and if the pick up by any chance they will say I don't know or misguide you. Their CSR doesn't know the process as I needed to fill the insurance form. Over the phone I was told to go in person and when I went there, receptionist asked me to come with appointment.
01 November 2022 6:55
I gave this a 2 star rating because of the experience. Dr. Conte is great. But I really don't agee with this wait outside business with a buzzer. I keep thinking of the winter. A mom with a stroller who toke a bus to get there forced to wait outside for 2 hours? I mean really not all would go to the hospital and it's not like reception even asks if you drove.
On another note running our vehicles to stay warm outside I find also find so wrong.
I sure hope they find better solutions.

Daughter was sick, so we took her to the clinic, waited for 4 hours to seem Dr Kam. He took about 1 minutes to do checkup over the two layers of clothes with his stethoscope, with one hand from a distance like it is black plague, and declared that it is new form of COVID. He prescribed to a toddler Fluticasone furoate an Asama medication. He didn't even let my wife speak, and walked away. We did two tests after this farce of medical attention, and they both came out negative. Ontario is quickly becoming worse then third world countries because of these kinds of practices. Interesting thing I had exactly same symptoms last time, and I was prescribed antibiotics and I recovered in few days.

Edits:
After reading the reviews below, this clinic should be shutdown.
25 September 2022 23:22
I went there on Friday sep 2. I waited for 3-4 hours for my turn then she didn’t even listen to me she was in so much hurry to check next patients… after 2 -3 minutes she prescribed me 2 medicines (lotion, ear drops) ; after visiting pharmacy i get to know that lotion is discontinued months ago. None of the pharmacies are carrying that lotion …. Now after spending hours there, I still don’t find any help…
25 September 2022 21:11
Not satisfied with the staff and doctor at all rating should be give. Zero
18 August 2022 7:30
Everyone i interacted with (reception, the nurse, and Dr. Conte - even the pharmacist next to it) were super friendly. Despite how busy it was i didnt feel rushed at all. Dr. Conte took time to fully explain my issue and and answer all my questions despite the fact that it was after close. The clinic itself does not provide very much privacy and its fairly dirty/dingy. If that could be improved, this would be my go-to clinic
17 August 2022 4:42
Very delay in calling when booked for a virtual appointment. Many times it takes more than 2 hrs delay when booked for a virtual appointment. Apart from that dr.doesn't answer 2 questions at one time, always insists to book another virtual for another question. May be he gets paid more when there are more appointments.

Worst place for shots/vaccination. They don't know how to take shots. They release the medicine/liquid in the shots in one press, in a second, all at once giving maximum pain to babies. It was painless and seamless when we used to get her vaccination at a clinic in Mississauga. Please learn some basic lessons of nursing/medical care.

Had to take my son in tonight for an ear infection. Only 3 staff working, a receptionist, nurse and a doctor all trying to take care 40+ patients in one shift. It's a wait, but they were excellent. I didn't catch the doctor's name, but she was fantastic with my son. I could not say enough good words about her. Yes, there is a wait time, so don't walk in expecting to be seen right away, but we recieved great care and my son left with a smile despite being in pain. Staff at the pharmacy were wonderful as well.

The nurses and receptionists were so sweet, kind, and attentive but the doctor I saw was awful and made me feel small. She was condescending and made me feel like my issues weren’t important or bad enough to take up space there. She also forgot about me waiting in the last room (where the doctor meets you for the first time) I was in there for about 45 mins before the nurse checked on me and apologized but the doctor didn’t even mention it or care, this was also after I was already waiting in the clinic waiting room for 2.5 hours- which is fine, I was patient and understanding about that, but I deserve to be treated with respect and the doctor failed at that.
16 June 2022 17:26
This clinic use to be our only stop when our kids were sick or hurt. We took our nephew to be treated for a potentially broken foot which turned out to be fractured toes. The doctors were absolutely wonderful, the other staff left alot to be desired. They refused us entrance multiple times simply because I had his health number written down, which is all I had on original entry. They cited the "no verbal assaults" signs when I simply tried to explain that we were asked to return for a check-up and that he didn't need a picture on his health card under 16. This walk-in has gone completely down hill and has lost my entire family's business.

On August 31,2021 my diabetic mother-in-law booked a virtual appointment with Dr. Kam. She was visiting from Iran and had a less than a 10 minute virtual visit for $50. After the appointment, Dr. Kam charged our credit card $100. We have been trying for 8 months to get this issue resolved. Finally we get in touch with someone. The solution? She tells us to make an online appointment with Dr. Kam (where he will get paid a couple of hundred dollars by OHIP) to talk to him about overcharging us by $50. Seriously? We are in the process of reporting him for his unscrupulous behavior to CPSO.

If I could give a zero I would. This place is disgustingly dirty. The amount of dirt on ledges in their examination rooms is astronomical. There is dried fluid stains on the doors of examination rooms as well. And the doctors I’ve seen here are rude and condescending. Screwing up prescriptions 3 times in one visit because they rush so much. The reception is very nice and so is the one nurse. But the worst doctors I’ve ever encountered. I’ll never go back.
30 May 2022 21:18
Worst place to go. Much better to stay home rather visiting this place. After 2 hours wait, doctor came out to check one year old baby outside (open air, outside the building) in cold wind. Too busy to check the baby properly after 2 hours Wait time.
17 May 2022 22:45
I received excellent care here. It was very busy so a bit long wait time but I was treated well by everyone, including the receptionist, nurse and doctor.
17 May 2022 21:39
My mom, who was widowed 2 1/2 months ago, was treated so horrendously by Dr. Meenakshi Natarajan. We have all had bad treatment by various physicians from time to time. That’s ok. But this physician was absolutely tyrannical towards an elderly woman. My mom is stuttering and fearful and keeps asking us what she did wrong. This doctor should not be around people.
09 May 2022 16:11
Great experience with Dr Meena. I visited the clinic because my daughter was sick. Instead of waiting for long time, I choose to leave. She called back to me even after I left the facility. She gave me proper information, time and help needed for my concerns! Thank you so much! Such a great doctor she is!
06 May 2022 19:39
DR KAM SCAM! He overcharged us on the credit card and he said that because it's been a while he can't give me the money back (that he overcharged). This should be illegal. He hasn't got any dignity and he bargains for $50! I couldn't believe a so called doctor could steal from people and have no dignity to take responsibility.
30 April 2022 5:47
Had a very rude, unprofessional and extremely aggressive encounters from their staff members. Doctor Kam is maybe unaware of his staffs unacceptable behaviour towards his patients! Also my visit was totally unhelpful and never was completed. SO OHIP paid towards nothing! Because nothing was done correctly or finalized. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE OUTCOME!
THIS WAS THE MOST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A DR'S OFFICE IN MY LIFE! Stay away from this place period!
29 April 2022 13:07
I visited this clinic twice during April just because they stay late and both experiences were worse than the other. The first time in early April, the receptionist was very tough, unwelcoming to all patients. The clinic was crowded, however, there was enough space and the people were already social distancing. However, the upset receptionist didn’t like that and asked all patients to line up outside the clinic. It was a cold day in early April and some people including myself were not dressed up for the weather because you never think you will be treated like that. The second time, my 7 years old son had a severe soar throat. When the nurse took the strep bacteria swap, it stimulated vomiting and he vomited on the floor. I asked the nurse to bring some napkins to wipe the vomit from my son’s face, she gave me an attitude and said she had to cleanup the floor first! I asked the other nurse who was updating his case on the computer Infront of her and she also said I have to finish the application first! Can you believe that. My son stayed with his heads down on the bucket where he vomited for almost 5 minutes until the first nurse told me that I can get paper towels from the room behind me!

Honestly, If I am the owner of this place and I see the treatment that the receptionist and the two nurses did to my customers, I would fire them immediately on the spot. My advice to the staff there, please do yourself and the patients a favour and find another career outside healthcare. People who work in this field should have empathy and compassion to help sick people and you clearly don’t have that. My advice to anyone who needs a clinic at a late time when all walk-ins are closed. DON’T EVER GO TO ONYX. Better go to St. Mary’s emergency and endure the long wait than experiencing this bullying and unhuman treatment that I had.
15 April 2022 13:59
Nurse and doctor were both really attentive. The doctor took the time to answer my questions and explain things to me.
04 April 2022 10:59
I visited ONYX Urgent Care on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at approximately 6: 30pm. I was experiencing severe back pain radiating into my stomach however with COVID wreaking havoc on our hospitals I decided it was better to visit urgent care than the hospital.

When I arrived and checked in I was the only patient there. I was impressed as I hadn’t even sat down in the waiting room before a nurse came to get me. I explained my pain to her and she was very kind and validating as she took my weight and vitals. I did not get her name sadly.

Unfortunately that is the last good thing I can say about my visit. Dr Ameet Karaul stood in the doorway the entire appointment with his hand on the door handle. He was dismissive, and only briefly came over to run his hand along my spine to ask where my pain was. I explained my pain and he repeatedly talked over me to ask me if I had a fall or knew how I would have injured myself, to which I honestly answered no. He told me that given my age (28) and because I did not know how I injured myself, I should get massages and do physiotherapy. I was unimpressed with this answer and felt neglected but didn’t have time to express this as he said he’d write me a referral for physiotherapy and he abruptly left. At the desk the receptionist gave me a prescription he also wrote for a muscle relaxant. I had this filled and left. My urgent care visit lasted 10 minutes.

I did do physiotherapy. I had 5 appointments. Despite being furious over the doctor’s lack of attentiveness, my pain did subside (more on that later). The physiotherapist thought it was likely a costovertebral joint disorder and treated it as such. And I did biweekly massages, but this is no credit to Dr Karaul as I was doing these prior to.

This previous Thursday night my pain returned, in the exact same area, but it was so bad that I was vomiting. I went to Grand River hospital where I was actually taken seriously and bloodwork, an ultrasound, and an X-ray were ordered. I was seen promptly by a surgeon who told me I needed my gallbladder removed immediately and I was admitted to the hospital. When I explained to the surgeon what Dr Karaul said, the surgeon said it was ridiculous and had any tests been ordered back in January I could have had this diagnosed and dealt with then and saved myself a great deal of pain from my gallbladder attacks (this is why the pain was subsiding and returning, it was not due to the physiotherapy).

I understand I am a 28 year old woman and I am in good health, but just because I am young this does not mean any pain I have is trivial. It is absolutely unacceptable that young people, primarily young women, are so easily brushed off when we seek treatment. We rely on doctors to help us, yet it is so common to be looked over. I am outraged at this doctor and I don’t even want to refer to him as such. Back pain during the night is a sign of spinal cancer. What if it was that? 2 months can be a long time when it comes to severe illnesses. How would Dr Karaul feel if he knew that his negligence took away the 28 year old mother of an 8 and 4 year old? Does the care he provided me on January 26th align with the Hippocratic Oath he would have sworn to? I am fortunate that it was only my gallbladder but this is no thanks to Dr Karaul.

Part of me wonders if this could be Hanlon’s razor which is an adage that states to "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”. Regardless of intent, this was neglect and although perhaps nothing will come of this, it will not be because I sat back and did nothing. So this review will be posted on every review site and forum for Onyx Urgent Care and I will be lodging a complaint with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). This is not out of a personal need for vengeance against Dr Karaul but a firm belief that this mistake should never be made again and perhaps he needs to be reminded of the formal education he received and swore to abide by.

I just moved from Manitoba and came to Onyx to get a refill on my Adderall prescription, since I don't have a family doctor in Ontario yet (doctors aren't supposed to practice medicine out of province, so my Manitoban family doctor couldn't help me).
I brought a pill bottle showing that I'd been prescribed it before and a copy of my full assessment report showing that I've been officially diagnosed with ADHD by a psychiatrist. But despite the fact that I'd brought plenty of evidence that Adderall is something that I legitimately need, the doctor was incredibly dismissive and unhelpful. I waited an hour to see the doctor, and then was basically just told to read their policy (taped to the wall), made to feel stupid for even coming there with this request, and when I asked if he could suggest somewhere else I could go, he said he had no idea and that I would just have to phone walk-in clinics until I found somewhere that would refill it.
Two problems with this suggestion: A) if he had known anything about ADHD, he would know that that's a pretty difficult thing for someone with ADHD to even do; and B) there's a reason I went to an Urgent Care clinic and not a walk-in. Adderall is a controlled substance with many restrictions placed on it. For example: You actually can't get refills on prescriptions, you need to get a new prescription every single time. In addition, the first time the prescription is written by a doctor, it needs to be a physical paper copy, which is then brought to the pharmacy by the patient - they can't just send it via fax like most prescriptions. Therefore, it's not something that a lot of doctors at walk-in clinics are willing to prescribe. If an Urgent Care Clinic won't prescribe this to me, what makes him think that a walk-in clinic WOULD?
Frankly, I think it's awful that they have a policy preventing the prescription of medications people NEED in the first place, and secondly that doctor in particular was unsympathetic, dismissive, and didn't even provide any helpful suggestions as to how I could get the care I need.
21 March 2022 2:58
Booked an online appointment. Waited hours only to get spammed on my phone with the same text message saying there was 8 appointments ahead of me and I had to wait 25-40 minutes. Total waste of time
05 March 2022 17:20
Long wait time and staff who show no empathy. Sad to see the Canadian healthcare system now rests in the hands of doctors who are in it just for the money.
04 March 2022 16:59
Quick virtual care, saves from having to go into an actual clinic for something that can be done over the phone.
16 February 2022 12:03
Went to the doctor with my 2 y.o. With slight fever, he was so dead set on declaring it COVID that he completely ignored all other symptoms, neglected to take temperature, insisted on checking ears/throat in subzero weather in a literal shed instead of inside of the building and was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive all around, basically telling me outright he doesn't care about me or my kid, verbatim ""i don't care if he's not eating for couple of days, keep him hydrated and isolate"". Overall, while i have immense respect for the profession and pretty much all of the doctors i've met throughout the years were amazing, this one is rather pathetic excuse not only for his profession but for the decent human being in general.
13 February 2022 17:17
I had contact this clinic for Urgent referals 3 times in the past year and they never call back.they did not care at all to follow up with what i needed. Last time i called to get referral i had a bad car accident and they never call me back.
Very dissappointing!
I will not recommend at all.
10 February 2022 14:16
The worse clinic I have seen They took $100 from me and even did not give me medicine. Even my problem is not Better till now and they told me to pay $100 more to see the doctor. OMG I pay $100 just to see the doctor? Not getting the medicine
27 August 2021 10:36
Horrible doctor, I went in 4 days after I got in a car accident because my hand was swollen and couldn't grip anything and in a massive amount of pain. I was then requested by my physiotherapist to go back and run some tests. I went back few days later, doctor refused the tests and said that I never had a problem in the first place. Very rude.
22 August 2021 21:34
Had a 2 yeaR old child waiting in a car, outside humid and hot because she had a fever. Told was to see a Dr. In an hour but 2 hours passed, with screaming and feverish child in a car. Rude Dr.called and said I don't need to see her it is ear infection probably and have her antibiotics. He didn't want to check a baby because of fever, are you kidding me? ! Where do live, what kind of health care is this? Unfortunately, I work in a health care and if I did something like this (which I would never, it is a child's sake), I would have been fired, person would complain to the head office. Shame, shame that Dr.can do what ever they want and fill our kids with antibiotics. Maybe my daughter has a sore throat, cold something else or as a parent just needed to be reassured that it is nothing serious and to go home. Crazy world, no empathy anymore.
16 August 2021 13:52
I don’t have a family doctor and this has become my regular spot. Booking virtual appointments have been super easy and convenient. When I’ve gone in alone the nurse was super comforting and made my experience a lot more at ez, she was also very good at giving needles! I’ve had another appointment to see the gynaecologist dr lamb and she really took the time to explain everything. Great experiences here.
14 August 2021 11:05
I have a family doctor but these folks got me in pretty quick after hours. Nice to have a reliable spot like this just in case. Keep up the good work!
07 August 2021 22:47
Let me start out by saying Onyx is a perfectly fine alternative if you do not wish to wait in hospital emergency or unable to see your regular family doctor. There are certain cases in which this is a convenient alternative. However, please note that the doctors, and secretary staff do not necessarily care about your convenience. So please be mindful of that.

My experience has always been rushed and brushed off at this clinic. It is in no way better than any other clinic, in fact in many ways it is worse, it’s only positive is it’s evening hours because ailments can hit at any moment, as mine did. I was left without options to treat my injury. During this time I desperately made calls to my family doctor, and other clinics in hopes of being released from their care which luckily I was successful. If it were not for COVID-19 I certainly would have chosen the hospital over this clinic, just simply to receive a better, more respectful and professional level of care.

I am not one to leave reviews but because this is a matter of health, I feel compelled to outline my issues with this clinic.

-Unfortunately, the male doctor I dealt with had the poorest bedside manner I have ever experienced. I felt as if I was talking to a child and not a grown adult, let alone a Physician. He did not even offer basic communication skills, let alone a compassionate and caring bedside manner. I was stunned and disgusted that such a doctor would choose a personal field of work, but perhaps it’s about the money. Nonetheless, he performed his basic job of treating me. Although I do believe he is only seeking to see as many patients as possible to further his income.
-Because I had to visit this clinic quite frequently, I had to be checked in on two occasions. The first time with a lovely nurse and female doctor, who was excellent, compassionate, personable and everything a doctor should be. But it all went down hill after that. On my second or third visit, one of the nurses taking my BP, asked me my pain level which was at this point quite excruciating as it had been for the past week. She felt the need to let me know that “they do not prescribe controlled substances”. None of the other nurses at my other visits felt the need to add this caveat. I told her I have no interest in a controlled substance, and at that point I felt so uncomfortable, and racially profiled. I genuinely feel the team at Onyx should have some racial sensitivity training.
-Lastly, I have to touch on the secretary/administrative staff. As many people noted, I believe this staff must be overworked or underpaid because the rudeness level is completely inappropriate. A bad day can always happen for anyone, but as someone who had to attend the clinic almost daily, I have to say it is completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

If you made it to this point, I would like to say the nurse that was primarily treating me was absolutely excellent and doing her absolute best. She was never rude, extremely compassionate and understanding to the pain I was feeling, as a medical professional should.

This is all to say.if you must, you must. But try your best to stay out of this clinics care, and use it as a last resort.

I usually always have a good experience when I come here but after today’s visit I left pretty disappointed in the care I had received from the female doctor. I suffer with bad anxiety and panic attacks and I was literally belittled and shoved off and not taken seriously at all to the point she had even expressed to me how she was more concerned about another patient and how she had to go and advised me to call a doctor instead virtually. For a physician she should be more compassionate for her patients and ones that suffer with mental illness instead of acting like their full of it.

Awesome nurse and doctor. Was happy about that part of my visit. Checking in with the receptionist- Julia wasn't not so such of a great experience. Dealing with the public and especially with the sick takes a very sensitive approach dealing with patients. The receptionist was very cold, rude and rolled her eyes. That tells me she may lack dealing with the public & having no people skills. Prefer not to deal with that again.
Other than that great place to go to for treatment and recommend anyone to go there.

Absolutely useless (is that cornflakes crumbs still stuck to the medical degree? At least clean it off after you get it out of the box) and the appointment times have zero reference to the times booked.

We have attended here 3 separate times and each time felt dismissed and they talk to you like you're stupid. Each time we attended turned into more of a problem that could have been dealt with the first time if they bothered. Never been treated like we are there anywhere else. Unfortunate.

Great doctor and great nurse who helped me! Would give more stars but one of the receptionists that work there seems like she hates her job. I came in without my health card knowing that my information was already in the system. But before I could even finish telling her that my boyfriend was on his way with my health card from home, she rolled her eyes and acted like I was a bother. I’d rather not come in if that’s the type of service she puts out. Again, amazing doctor and nurse!

The website says they're open until 7pm on holidays. I called to ensure they were open, and the receptionist told me they were indeed open. Well, we got there to find the doors locked. I called the number again, extension 9, to talk to the receptionist. The same person I had spoken to earlier told me the clinic should be open. He then told me he wasn't at the clinic. The receptionist is not at the clinic? Someone please explain how that works to me. I needed to see a doctor, I did not need to travel around the city for nothing. I would have preferred them to have not answered the phone and then I wouldn't have made the trip! Simple!

Couldn’t be more disappointed with the service both in person and on the phone. I’ve been calling the clinic every other day for the past month to get a code to claim insurance coverage and was just transferred between the daytime and nighttime clinic, not receiving any responses. Most of the receptionists I talked on the phone with were rude and not helpful at all.

The virtual booking is fast and efficient. Dr Kam is to the point but also caring. I didn't feel rushed off the phone. The staff have been nothing but pleasant to speak to and im very pleased. I especially appreciate this place since I dont have a family doctor (just like most of us in KW)

Worst doctor ever, Dr. Ameet Karaul. I wonder how he even got his license. I have been having medical issues for the last 1.5 years I was managing it. It got worse over the last month, I went to him, and literally all he talked about was, ohip would go broke if he ordered scans, that’s his favorite dialogue, why does he care about that and not his patients? Then he kept on dismissing me. Ended up going home. It’s like going to a 5 year old for a diagnosis. Awesome medical system

Good option if you cant get in with your family doctor or if you don't have a family practice. Did my IUD for me. Thank you!

I feel really uncomfortable to have to even write this review, but if you care about your reproductive health concerns don't go here for an OBGYN or any other type of pelvic specialist referral. I had made it clear multiple times (in detail on my first visit, then briefly in my second visit) that my purpose for visiting the clinic was to address my ongoing issues (7 years on and off) with pelvic swelling and pain that was not normal.

I have had ultrasounds and exams in the past which have revealed issues with cysts and polyps, so I was hoping with that knowledge that this time around I could easily obtain a referral to a specialist so this issue could be properly addressed. I had originally discussed this with an online doctor and she had told me to go into a clinic to have a few different investigative tests done (STI, visual exam, pregnancy test, v****** ultrasound) to determine if there was an immediate health emergency that needed to be addressed as that may have moved me up higher on a specialists waitlist. Totally understandable.

I went to this clinic to have the STI testing and visual examination done and then hopefully obtain a requisition for an ultrasound and a referral to some sort of specialist, which I did talk to the doctor about. They administered an STI test, then after speaking with the doctor, he suggested I come back in a couple weeks to do a routine Pap and spoke about doing up a requisition for an ultrasound but never ended writing one up. The one staff member at the front desk was very cold and dismissive upon arrival and throughout the visit, so I really felt uncomfortable asking her about this requisition as I did not want to further upset or bother her (I have issues with standing up for myself in these types of situations I get very uncomfortable), so I booked my Pap appointment and left. 2 weeks later, the Pap and physical examination presented no immediate concern to the doctor, no problem at all. But that was it. No requisition for ultrasound imaging, no referral to a specialist to further address the pain I've been experiencing. And now I am awaiting the official results of the Pap smear. And if this all comes back normal I guess I'm just supposed to live with this pelvic pain? No other options or alternative courses of action so I could further escalate and address this issue were discussed with me. No discussion on what the next steps to addressing this pain will be if my results come back normal (I would have to book another follow up appointment in order to have this discussion, my third appointment in 3 weeks).

What upset me the most is that I've been to this clinic 2 times in less than 3 weeks and still received no referral to a specialist or alternative recourse to addressing this very real and valid concern that has been affecting my day to day life negatively. I don't really enjoy having to go in person for so many separate visits, obviously heavily due to the pandemic, which I would like to avoid if possible.

If you're like me and don't have much knowledge on female reproductive healthcare (cause it's not really talked about or addressed seriously often) then save yourself the trouble and just reach out to the specialists in the region yourself if you can. If not, get a referral from a virtual doctor as I've had more success and less time wasted dealing with virtual doctors, I have also found the virtual doctors that I've spoken with take my concerns more seriously.

If you need STI testing or a routine Pap, this place is great, quick in and out, results came quickly (although you will need to follow up if you want a copy or want to know if they came back negative as they will not go out of your way to contact you if this is the case. I was not 100% aware of this as I've had other clinics follow up with me in the past about this. Or sign up for their virtual portal and your results can be viewed virtually).

No point in making a virtual appointment youll never get the call unless you call reception and have them talk to the doctor to call you back.after they told me to do book one online.

Came here for a specialist appointment. The day clinic staff were lovely, reception and nursing were both kind. Clinic was very "covid friendly. " Staff behind glass, all the other patients were in masks, no more than 3 people in the waiting room at a time. Doctor was thorough, left with what I needed.

I have been going to this clinic for the past three weeks to have a wound packed and checked, after the incision I had opened up completely (Doctor from another clinic took the stitches out after one week, but that's another review!). I found the clinic to be efficiently run and the staff attentive. This is an urgent care clinic, so don't expect an in depth conversation with the attending doctor.

The nurses that did attend to my wound were very friendly and did everything to make sure I was comfortable (special mention to Melissa, who did the initial cleaning of my wound and whom I saw the most often, though all of them were great!).

Certainly would not hesitate to go here, should another situation arise that required it.

PLEASE DON’T GO HERE!

This was my first time going to this clinic and I was shocked to see how disorganized this place is.there were 2 ladies in the reception with no sense of professionalism.they were rude and had a very bad attitude.these are the first people we meet in the clinic and looking at their behaviour i understood i will be going from here empty handed.the music was loud.zero social distancing.staff talked to each other in the reception as if they are sitting in their lunch room.i had booked my appointment and the doctor said me to do some blood test from a clinic in waterloo and then come back.why didn’t they inform me about the blood work before i wonder.i just went there to get a piece of paper.they knew why i was there and should have informed me in advance.the room that i was waiting in for the doctor was small and dirty with no ventilation.it was suffocating in there.look for a better clinic if you really care about your health.

You can never reach this place by phone. I came in for help completing a disability form. They told me no problem, but I would need to be booked in during the daytime with the clinic owner. I asked if it would be more than $100 because I knew there would likely be a fee. I was told no, definitely NOT more than $100 after showing her the form.

I show up the day of my appointment and I show the receptionist that day the form and I am told it will be $100, but that the doctor will confirm.

I get in to see the doctor. He is cold and dismissive and I don't feel like I am being heard and now suddenly the form is $200 to fill out.

Obviously this is just a cash grab and from this doctor's tone he doesn't care at all. I told him it wasn't accessible for me at that price point and that wasn't what was communicated when I made the appointment and I left. Do not waste your time at this clinic. You can get a better level of care through telemedicine at many other clinics in town.

Used their new Virtual Care Clinic and the process was very user-friendly and smooth. Was able to book a same-day phone appointment, attach a photo and fill out a short form (about 10 questions total) all online. My appointment happened on time, took less than 15 minutes, and I ended up with a perscription faxed to my pharmacist the same day that addressed all my symptoms. Highly recommend the Virtual Care Clinic for those symptoms that don't need to be seen in-person and are less urgent!

Very disappointed with my evening visit. I came in with a knee issue that's been bothering me for a few days and wanted to either get an examination or a referral to a specialist who can diagnose the issue. The doctor barely spent 5 minutes with me, prescribed some pain medication and physio without even trying to understand what's wrong with my knee, and refused to refer me to somebody who can actually diagnose me. This was a complete waste of time, therefore I can't recommend anyone with similar issue to come here.

I did a virtual visit which was free if you live in Kitchener to get a refill on my birth control. Was called by a doctor that day and my prescription automatically

Quick service at the daytime clinic. Evening clinic is a longer wait but still much faster than going to the ER. Friendly staff and pharmacist was nice.

Called in and asked what time they are open until and they told me 8pm I drove all the way to the clinic to get the door shut in my face and told they are only open until 7pm.

I have been coming to Onyx for a few years and have always had a positive experience. The hours are so convenient and I always get great service from them and the doctors. I especially like the day clinic and love that I can book an appointment and not have to wait during busy walk in hours. The two ladies, and Dr. Kam who work day shift are amazing and are always helpful. There is a pharmacy on site which makes getting my prescriptions easy to grab on my way out. They now have a new option to see a doctor virtually which I have not tried yet but I'm sure I will in the future.

Great experience. Professional and shorter wait time for their walk-in clinic. Dr. Natarajan provided excellent service.
