Optimist Memorial Park

There's a Euchre tournament, pretty laid back on the third Friday of each month. It's a lot of fun, a great fundraiser plus, every 5 rounds, there's food!

My dog absolutely LOVES this park! When he realizes that's where we're going he just can't contain himself he gets so excited LOL.
The people are friendly and the other dogs have been accepting. I wish they had a water station so we didn't have to drag bottles with us. And maybe move a garbage inside the fence instead of outside for a little more convenience.

City of Windsor needs to re do this park play areas to be more user friendly

Yes.they have a playground 1-10 I give it a 2
Dirty sand with garbage cans way far away uneven terrain this doesn't even have wheelchair accessible consideration for children who need it

The pavilion is littered with homeless people sleeping drugs

No splash pad or things for children outside a mediocre playground with animals off leash

It's a park for everyone to enjoy and I'm sorry to say this doesn't click every box for everybody

Need an urban planner in there to resurrect Windsor's greatest natural park with community center

Also restore the bathrooms even consider what lake Wilcox did with there park/lakefront

Cute little forest to explore! A small park. Room for outdoor family gatherings. It's very beautiful in the summer. Great for a little family adventure! They also have a dog park now, two areas. A smaller area for dogs that don't do well with others and a bigger caged area for the dogs that like to play and run around. I just wish it was bigger.

A nice park for a family stroll. With a dog park on-site, a great place for a walk with your four-legged best friend.

Same issue as always.place is littered with trash from the previous day.thanks alot City of Windsor

Nice park. They really truly need to fix the parking lot. To get to the dog park there are some major big pot holes

Good park for family get together or picnic. Public washroom is not functional, which is a problem for prolonged stay. New gazebo/picnic shed is really good, but electric outlets doesn't work.

Good location and a park to relax. But the playground not improved. A lot of dirt in the playground.

Nice calm park, good for kids and dogs, Shelter with good tree shades. Good community center with hygienic washrooms

We love taking our dog to the dog park here. She made lots of new friends. Plan for the weather though cuz certain spots can make your pup pretty wet and muddy.

Clean park. Great walking trails and even a dog park. There is also a library.great little area!

Went to the small dog park with the dog I was fostering. She didn't enjoy herself plus there were ALOT of mosquitoes. We walked back home.

Great dog park with lots of shade and wooded area for your dog to run about. Also lots of picnic tables to sit at and a good variety of dogs

Park needs a revamp. Time to get rid of the sand and go to the recycled tire like most of them are now.

I love the dog park. My tiny dog has plenty of space to run around. Having separate area for large vs small dogs is great. Not much space for biking or well connected to the trails. Other than this, it's a great park

However the playground needs to be upgraded and the sand needs to be removed.

Beautiful park, with plenty of old growth trees. Includes a small hill for toddler tobogganing and my favourite dog park in the city.

It is very Good most of the time me and my friends have fun and the forest is very good for playing hide and seek

Best dog park in the city, largest square footage, biggest trees and even a wooded area. Gets pretty muddy after a big rain but otherwise its pretty dry in most areas. A good community of regular folks and Thier dogs also frequent this park.

Ping pong table was great! Recommend bringing your friends and surprising them with a tournament.

Nice area for dog owners to walk and a good place to meet other dog owners. But when mosquitos are in season dont walk through the wooded area without bug spray on!

I like the park, when it's dry. It would be nicer if there was some water source or something readily available.

It is a great community centre with amazing and helpful staff. My kids (a 3 year old girl & a 4 year old boy) attend a class there (sports jam) where they use their high energy in a functional way with lots of fun. Also we like the library

Best dog park in Windsor with lots of trees and a little bush for the dogs to play in. Lots of space too.

Visited park when kids were younger. A quiet neighborhood with some very old trees. Great place.

I recently came back to this place after not had come here for years and was glad to see that nothing had changed from last time I was here when I was a kid

Optimist Memorial Park is a beautiful well seasoned Park. It has a large dog walking area. That is fenced in and at the far right hand corner in the back. There is ample parking for dozens of cars. A couple large Pavilions provides enough space for a large family gathering. Along with a kids play area, it's a perfect spot for a spring summer Gathering or birthday party. There are still some barbecue stations provided by the parks Rec. They are in excellent shape. I always bring steel wool and a little bit of oil every time I barbecue there. The facility also has bathrooms on a large gymnasium. There is also a new library that has been completed in the past couple years. You can also rent the gym for a birthday party. It's very reasonable and they provide you with a couple staff members to play basketball and other games during the party. Optimist park is a beautiful Park that is well maintained and very clean. We highly recommend Optimist Memorial Park for a good walk around some old trees, or just to go sit and enjoy a day

Beautiful quiet Park I let my dog run free there. The park is always clean and there is a baseball field and a play area for children.

Lots of memories and fun times here with my little girl. And I'm sure much more to come. The woods are more fun than the park for us lol.

Great for family and pets. Forest regeneration area, good for enjoying a daily walk in the woods, plus, there are baseball, soccer, basketball, etc, fields there as well. Went to nursery school there, about 40 year ago. Great friendly staff.

Optimist Memorial Park is well kept and spacious. The Optimist community center is right beside it seperated by a field and a parking lot. There are bathrooms located nearby and in the Optimist center as well.

There is a dog park nearby and I have frequently seen dogs without a leash wandering about with owners no where to be seen.

I do enjoy going there with my younger sister and friends, and would recommend it so long as there is adult supervision.

One of my favourite parks in Windsor. The kids love the playground and open fields and I love the trees and the little wooded area. My brother got his wedding pictures taken here about a month ago and they are beautiful!

Quiet park but beautiful trees especially in the Fall time! Especially the trees along Ypres & Gladstone Ave.

Took our 15 month old puppy to the dog park for the first time. The park was fully fenced, clean, and well groomed. The regular owners there were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return soon.

Not much shade or space at the diamonds and no facilities but enough room to hit the ball lightly

Play ground needs to be redone but the new library is awesome as well as the fenced in basketball court

This park has everything, naturalized areas, dog park, playground, soccer field, baseball, cricket, and a community centre and library.

One of my most adored parks in Windsor. They have a dog park, playground for kids, large fields for soccer, a basketball court and of course a legendary library here. It's close to my grandparents place so I always like taking a walk there with the family dog.

Grew up playing at this park. Wonderful place to go during the daytime. Poorly lit at night though. I do not suggest going through the forest at night.
