Oretta Midtown

Had dinner here with the wifey. Food was good. Especially the pizza. Nice chill ambience and environment. Moderate pricing as well. Not sure about the tiramisu though. Overall I recommend

How does this place have 4 stars? Had the calamari and it tasted like it was cooked from frozen. Ravioli di pesce had no flavour whatsoever and was not hot at all when served. Friends I was with were also not impressed. The amount they charge does not match their food quality, go to Gusto instead. Only the ambiance is nice here.

If you rate the food here more than 2 stars you don’t have tastebuds

Food and Service were fantastic.the dining area is very open concept, so noise travels everywhere making it hard to enjoy dinner conversations. Otherwise lovely italian restaurant with good food, good service and beautiful decor

Came here yesterday to celebrate with my son and College aged daughter. We ordered several dishes including the burger.this is where things went wrong.
My son bit into the burger and said it didn't taste good. When I opened the bun I saw RAW ground beef! It looked like it was straight out of the package and only seared on the top and bottom.

My daughter, who works at a fine dining restaurant downtown was appalled saying we need to tell the manager, cuz that cook needs to be told. She spoke to the manager who was sweet.but insisted the meat was sirloin so it was safe. WTH? Ma'am it's RAW! Anyway she took the burger and my glass of wine off the bill. I don't think that was enough and you better believe I will not be going back, the food is terrible (had the sea bass.no salt, no pepper no flavour at all) our waiter was disengaged and all over the place we waited over 15 min for our bill, then came back and asked if we got our bill we said no, he left again for another 5 min I flagged the manager down and got her to ring us out.

After we left, we went to juicy dumplings across the street b/c we were hungry.should have gone down the street to The Keg for dinner rather than waste my time and money at Oretta. Folks don't get fooled by the social media posts that show the fabulous décore / atmosphere (it really was pretty) b/c that's about the only good thing about this place.

Beautiful restaurant. But wayyyyyy overpriced - portions have shrunk over time and prices have gone up. Cocktails and wine are super expensive. Portions are tiny for the price - even the staff agree. $30 apps. $30 (overpriced) pasta dish isn’t even enough for one and is just ok (taste wise). Had to eat a second dinner when we got home and we spent $170 w tip on 2 apps, 2 wines, and 1 main to share. Go for a cocktail and to enjoy the space. But skip the mediocre, skimpy, overpriced food and save your money.

All of the dishes we ordered were fresh, hot, and delicious- zero complaints. Drinks were also amazing. Servers constantly checked in to see how we were enjoying our meals, just to ensure that all was well - which I can appreciate. Ambiance is perfection. Great service and wonderful dining experience overall. I would 100% recommend and return!

Visited the restaurant last night with another couple. Our server was nice, and the restaurant was beautiful. But the food was bland, table side pasta was cold, carpaccio was terrible, ordered some bread for the carpaccio it arrived 30 mins after we got the carpaccio. Server told us they were having challenges in the kitchen today. Pricing was expensive (we figured that going) but not worth it at all. There are much better choices at this price point in the city.

Visited on a Friday evening and I was surprised I managed to get a table as the whole restaurant looked fully occupied. Appears to be a very trendy Italian restaurant popular with couples. The menu is only two pages, yet, there looked to be something for most people. I noticed that the kitchen looked incredibly busy. Most of the dishes I saw looked good, although I did see a pizza that looked a little crispy around the edges. The salads looked good. There are nine pages of wine ranging upwards in price. In deciding what to have I had the recommendation on the wine. It wasn't bad, yet, these were restaurant prices for wine. The decor and facilities were impressive and well maintained. The prices comparable with a trendy place.

Wow. This place is amazing. First, the vibe and style of the restaurant.its very art deco which is totally my thing and i was obsessedthe moment I walked in. The service was great, the waitress put up with my annoying friend who had to ask about every damn menu item because he wanted the "full experience" so bless her. Lastly.the food. 10 out of 10. Delicious. Yummy. Just go and thank me later.

The atmosphere and food was great, but the service was horrible. Our server forgot about us and we waited close to 20 minutes to place our order. We had to call upon other servers to call for her. Once our order was placed, she forgot to bring us still water, and another server jumped in to help.

My latte arrived 15 minutes later, but they missed the regular coffee my partner had placed. The food arrived in another 15 minutes (30 minutes after placing order), still no coffee. We asked the other servers who brought our food about it – they went to call our server again to help us with it. She came and said she needed to restart the coffee machine, but couldn't she come and tell us and not make us wait for half an hour without an explanation? She did not seem apologetic.

50 minutes in total of waiting before actually getting our food and a regular coffee. The other servers looked like they were proactively communicating with their guests. Perhaps we were the exception but our server really sucked. Disappointing experience.

Firstly, atmosphere were amazing. A lovely space to dine and chat. Our server was also great - however, I could NOT get a hold of the restaurant at all for reservations/altering reservations all day (I tried them at least 3 times that day, at different times).
The food was alright. Pretty mid, kind of overhyped - my friend and I both ordered pizza as we've been seeing it circulating online and we were both not impressed, given the glowing reviews we've seen. The pizza was fine but it was really greasy, a bit too bready, and no base sauce (so kind dry once the toppings came off). Also, drinks were not worth it. I understand that everything is expensive when dining out these days but, a cocktail half full (due to large ice cubes) is not worth $18.

We had a very bad experience at oretta last night. We were 12 guests and we had reservation in advance. We arrived 8 pm and they served food at 10: 30 pm! The management didn’t came to our table after we complained as we were all starving! When they brought food they brought everything at once even the appetizers! No complimentary food was provided as they were delayed! In addition the waiter made a mistake and forgot to bring the salad that my wife ordered as an appetizer! After + delays when they brought the bill not only they charged everything by every penny they added 18% tip plus tax! We had to call the management and asked them to take the tip off as they had a horrible service. The manager responded “ sorry we can’t! ” at the end we had to yelled at them to take off the tip for their poor service. Both the management and the waiter were so unprofessional, no customer service manners … not recommending this location for busy nights like Saturdays as they can’t provide the service as they supposed to.

My husband was on his third bite of burrata pizza when he bit down a hard rock like substance. He broke his tooth. He found a 5mm rock in his mouth. The “assistant manager” came over took it away and came back a few minutes later to inform us that the chef had put it in his mouth (Ew! I question the hygiene of this kitchen) and it had simply “dissolved” in his mouth. He then very graciously offered to not charge us for the pizza that my husband had not eaten. He was SO dismissive. He seemed irritated that we were upset and that he was the one affected by my husband’s broken tooth! Overall We paid 350 dollars in dental bills and 86 dollars for an appetizer and drink and tip (because we’re not horrible people and our waitress was kind) for a broken tooth and left hungry.

Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism we received. Would never dine here again.

After asking several times, the “assistant manager” provided us with an email scribbled down on a piece of paper that we could voice our concerns to. It was not a big surprise when no one answered.

Came here with a group of friends around 1PM, it was a large group and with a reservation everything was made to flow smoothly! Vlad was a great server and the French toast thing was awesome. Also the place was genuinely just nice to be in.

Went here around 11 on a Saturday for brunch and was able to get seated immediately at the bar despite it being quite busy! I got the yogurt e muesli with a side of sausage and it was good! They were careful and made sure it was free of kiwi as I am allergic. It is quite pricey but the decor is really nice and they seem to be really accommodating to big groups. The only downside I had experienced was how long they took to get us the bill, even if it’s busy it shouldn’t have taken them 40ish minutes: (it made me late for my next appointment

We went for an early Sunday brunch. Although their lunch or dinner menu looks very broad and delicious, I cannot say the same for their brunch menu. We shared a savoury and a sweet dish with my husband. I don’t think a fruit-yogurt bowl is worth the money we paid. I still want to try their pizzas or pastas. Not the best place for breakfast in my opinion.

Sevana is SUCH a rockstar! Made my birthday so, so beyond special- such attentive service even in a busy section- she truly went above and beyond! Thank you so much to the team @ Oretta, and especially Sevana! Love you angel!

****Update****

We came on a Saturday noon, it was pretty busy so we ended up sitting at the bar as the wait time was over 30 minutes. The service at the start was very slow, it took over 12 minutes to get our first drinks, the service did get better after that wait.

We had brunch, the presentation was great, the drinks were awesome, we had the Salmone e Avocado and Uova Burrata e Tartufo, the focaccia of the latter was pretty dry and hard, aside this it was great taste! We also shared the Pane Francese, it was a huge portion and tasted great!

Still a very cute spot for dining and their patio looks great for weekend brunches.

Overall a very nice experience!

We did a walk-in on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us without a problem.
Our server was super nice, I wish I remembered his name.
We didn’t have a big meal, but the items we shared were perfectly fine. Ambiance is nice and so are the drinks, I’ll definitely be back here, maybe next time for brunch!

They spent too much money on interior design at the expense of good food.
Service is good, a bit slow, but attentive.
Everything looks good (go instagram) including food but it is extremely bland, dry and under-seasoned. Everything we ordered was underwhelming cardboard, albeit good looking.
I mean, where do you get parmigiano that does not have parmigiano taste, its beyond me.
If instagraming is ur thing it is the right place, go for it.

Oretta is top notch.

My most recent visit was not my first visit and it won't be my last visit.

Oretta has fantastic pizza, a great happy hour, and can we all just agree - stunning decor.

My most recent visit I had the calzone. Superb.
Fried eggs, different kinds of meat, arugula, and other tasty ingredients, all wrapped up in a folded over pizza crust.

Service was excellent.

The only meal I have yet to try here is brunch. I will plan that visit soon.

Wow - what an incredible meal at Oretta. From the fresh pasta (tomato sauce, truffle sauce with sausage) to the branzino, to the gelato cart, everything was top tier and delicious! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food. Also shoutout to the decor, this is a great spot with fantastic vibes, and it’s beautiful for instagrammable food shots!

I come here with my friends for happy hour (4-7pm, Monday to Friday), and the food is delicious! I'm noticing the portion sizes are getting smaller, but other than that it's a great place to come and socialize!

Both myself and my two sisters attended here today for my sister bday I must say our food was pretty good. It is a very nice brunch spot and the ambience is definitely up to par. My only issue is the time to get our food. We asked three times when it would arrive as we felt were being forgotten as we saw ppl that came after us get their food first. I’m happy it tasted great. The manager was kind enough to come chat and also we brought a cake and they were kind enough to bring it out with candles. Scott at the bar deserves a shout out. He has great customer service skills and is very attentive. I would attend again

This was by far the worst dine-in experience i’ve ever had in Toronto. Went to the place with such high expectations and ended up having a bad mood throughout. Even the busiest of the busiest restaurants don’t keep you waiting for 45 minutes to get the STARTERS. We didn’t even get cutlery throughout our dinner and had to ask for it ourselves. The server was horrible. Hated it, won’t recommend the midtown Oretta atleast. Hopefully King West Oretta is better?

Our server Gerso was awesome! He was there when we needed him and he didn’t bother us without a reason “just to check if everything is good”, helped us to choose and just was super nice!
Everything we ordered tasted sooo good and flavorful! Bottomless mimosa is a must during the brunch.
It was my birthday and we were really satisfied!
Overall, GREAT experience and we’ll definitely be back! ️?
