I ordered for take out Sunday night via Uber. Chicken was very very dry and hard. It was mostly inedible. It feels like the chicken shawarma is a few days old. I loved this restaurant before but the food I ordered is very disappointing. Plus, they forgot to give me the pita bread. I feel like I just wasted my money here.

The shawarma dinner has gone downhill! I cannot believe the scraps of dry burnt chicken shreds, the little handful of stale rice and 4 pieces of dry over cooked potato I was served! For $22! You have lost a long time customer.

First and foremost, I just ordered from here and the food was incredible for the price. Super flavourful! Really hit the spot.
But my motivation for this review is a response to an earlier review by ‘Coffee Milk’. I wish we could reply to other reviews, because I would let them know that as someone with a ton of experience as a chef for reputable restaurants, the pictures that they showed are nothing but a normal kitchen in the midst of service, and are a malicious attempt at discrediting this establishment. I just felt like I had to say something in the case that someone sees that review and chooses to not eat here - they would truly be missing out!

Food is delicious. It provides variety of food with reasonable price. Happy with the presentation of the plate thank you Arvan. Definitely recommended

Fish taste. Tomatoes in the salad were bad, had to be replaced. Quantity was good but my meal dish was still a little pricey.

Used to be better. Overpriced. Ordered 1 large and 1 small shawarma plate and small bottle Ayran (yogurt drink). Everything was dry and tasteles. I used to know first owner and first cook. Little plaza, almost deserted.

I don't know why some bad reviews are here, but mine was absolutely tasty, with a lot of meat/vegs.
These days, shawarma got so pricy everywhere, but this place is one of these still remaining low prices.

Don't judge by the atmosphere. I would definitely back!

Best bang for your buck. The medium shawarma plate is actually huge. Should probably just get the wrap otherwise it's too much food for one meal lol

Yummy food and very accommodating service! I had shawarma meat and my husband had the chicken shawarma dinner. Very delicious! The potatoes and salad are very nicely done, and the chicken was soft with crispy, edges! Just the way we like it:) Will definitely go back

I love the food here, can’t stop ordering delivery! My favorite place right now. I go for chicken shawarma, lula kebab etc.

Tomatoes look like a year old, lettuce and tomatoes are mixed together. There’s so much water in the salad hummus looks like it has aged. One of the worst shawarmas I have had.

I feel the need to put an update to my earlier review. After posting my review, within 15 minutes I was contacted by the owner looking to understand my experience and wanting to make things right. The 'WOW" part. This is definitely a great customer service experience. Mistakes happen, that's part of business. It's the service that brings people back. I took them up on their offer, went in for dinner, and the food was hot, fresh, fantastic. I now recommend giving this place a try, with full confidence, knowing the owners stand behind their business and do their best to make sure that each customer has a positive experience and great food. The Filipina lady that was working was also quite friendly and pleasant to speak with. - try the schnitzel, yummm

First review:
I just ordered this food one skip. I got the schnitzel pita where there was barely any chicken and just mouths full of coleslaw. Little flavour. I also got the garlic potatoes which were not cooked and dry so they went into the garbage. I also got the lentil soup which, while tasty, was very thin and I paid for a full cup but the cup was barely half full. Where is the rest of my soup? Looks like they're trying to split 1 portion into 2 and sell my soup twice. I feel completely ripped off by this place like and it's clear they are cutting corners. Order anything and from anywhere else but here.

Food is good, fresh, beef a bit too spicy for me but my husband liked it, so those who love spicy its very good. Chicken very soft and tasty. Would definitely recommend this place.

1st time here and it wasn't bad. Doesn't taste quite as quite as authentic as other shawarma/Mediterranean spots. What I had was ok. What I disliked most was that my sandwich fell apart after the first bite. And the chicken was a bit chewy. So not great. Not bad. Prob won't visit again.

We have been going to this place since 2016, and it never disappoints. Tonight we arrived at 9pm and still, they accepted us eventhough they close at 9: 30pm. They didn’t do any shortcuts, they served our food with the same preparation that they always do. Fresh and hot and perfect. Yael was very pleasant and was always smiling eventhough she might have been exhausted already. We really appreciated not being turned away, hence, this review. I have never tasted a better Shawarma than this. We moved to Mississauga a few years ago but whenever we are in North York, this is where we always wanted to eat. The chicken was so tender, rice was warm and soft, roasted potatoes are crunchy on the outside but soft in the inside, veggies complement the meal and the garlic sauce! Yum! The best Shawarma in North York! Very highly recommended, you won’t regret it!

I have always enjoyed a good shawarma but avoided the one wrapped in thick pita bread. That certainly changed today. The pita was so soft, fluffy and filled to the brim with all the good toppings, I just couldn't stop myself from finishing the whole thing in one sitting. SUSAN, the amazing cook at the restaurant made sure my first experience at Orly was unforgettable and had me hooked. She was very hospitable, we had nice little chat and I cannot recommend enough to just give this place a shot.

The small chicken shawrma dinner is so good! Nice hot food was made in less than five minutes great place for a quick and filling bite!

Best shawarma around that place, I buy there regularly. Arvindh was helpful in customizing my order as well.

Ordered from here for the first time tonight and wow I am pleased! The lovely individual working the cash tonight was such a kind person who made the experience ordering awesome! I'm sorry I didn't catch their name, but they were very patient with me seeing as it was my first time there and for the fact I showed up 12 minutes before close. They made it obvious that they took pride in the establishment and wanted everyone's experience to be the best. The food was also delightful, I'm happy I tried this place.

Chicken on a stick or Shawarma was excellent and moist and an ample supply of rice and potatoes. However, salad of mostly head lettuce was disappointing. Tahini, hummus, tzatziki is extra. Vegetables such as onions, parsley, radish and fresh tomatoes that you would expect with shawarma were non-existent.

A terrific experience. I was referred by a friend who raved about Orly. I wasn't disappointed. What a great find! The staff was friendly and was happy to suggest menu options when I asked. The food is incredibly fresh - and they make it right in front of you. We got two pitas with all the sides. They are huge - you can share with a friend. I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt that I should because the food was excellent. The shawarma might just be the best I’ve ever had! I am definitely going back.

Some great, no-fuss shawarma. Ordered a small shawarma dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of food. Unlike other places that require a smothering of sauces for flavour, the meat here is well seasoned and the potatoes included in the dinner had a bit of a crisp and coated with some oil/fat made it stand out (only wish they added more!).

Picked up a Party Platter for 2.
The amount of food was more than enough for 2 people. 3 or 4 can eat comfortably with that amount.
The rice, chicken and shawarma were all amazing and not dry. Like most middle eastern places.
Last but definitely not least, the customer service was fantastic. They were very sweet and accommodating. Again not like most middle eastern cuisine places.
You should definitely try this place.

I am working in this restaurant the service they provide is quick and reliable. They maintain proper cleanliness so that no one compromises for their health. The food they prepare is absolutely fresh and delicious. Love it! ️

Meaty shawarma but veggies and pita were very soggy. Pita tasted like it was laying down on waterish place and bread soaked in that water.
They only had chicken shawarma and no others they mention in the menu (Beef, lamb, lula)

Not to mention it fell apart after opening.

Sauces were almost tasteless.

Won’t recommend. If you like shawarma - you will be disappointed.

The food was ok, but the service needs improvement. We have ordered 6 meals to go, but only four forks were given after asking for cutlery. We have only discovered that when unpacking in the park.

The service was straight forward and too the point. Ask what you want and you shall receive. If you don't want something, then just ask. No additional questions needed. They accept cash, credit, and compliments.

I ordered the small shawarma dinner meal. For just under $11, you're definitely getting your money's worth. Maybe even save some for another meal. The roasted potatoes are crispy and seasoned perfectly. The shawarma was standard, but the rice was piled high. The salad on the side was a nice touch, if you went a little overboard on the carbs and protein.

First time ordering on Christmas day lol and it was awful.no flavor whatsoever on ANY of the items.is salt and pepper foreign to this restaurant? I'm actually blown away at how tasteless it all was.oh well.live and learn.btw my dogs will eat anything and they didn't even want it.

The Falafal Pitas are pretty good but fall apart easily. It would be great if you were to get larger pitas.

The old spirit of the restaurant is lost. The owner - business lady is not a pretty person at all.

I absolutely love this food! The flavour is great, the sauces are on point, and the portions are very generous. My mom said it was the best chicken she ever had, and I agree with her! Also, the rice and falafel were amazing. I couldn't stop eating!

The first 2 times I went it was amazing today pita was literally stale to the point where you couldn't even hold your pita without all the meat falling out from the bottom tasteless Shawarma threw it out

We ordered from Orly Grill recently. The first time was excellent, the flavors, portions were all very tasty. Our guests were all impressed.
Last weekend we ordered again. I was disappointed this time. They forgot to include the roasted potatoes which wasn’t a big deal because I understood that this happened especially when they were busy. However the rice was not too fresh. The taste was quite different from the last order. It tasted like it was at the verge of spoiled. I hope this is an isolated experience. But I will still give it another try!

Great shawarmas! The meat is perfectly grilled and marinated. The serving sizes are huge! Which might be the only negative I can think of as they overstuff the pitas so it's difficult to eat. But they taste amazing and definitely recommended!

Ordered take out, both a Falafel and chicken shawarma dinner. The flavour was okay but they didn't provide sauces (no tahini or humus and not enough hot sauce for a meal) that I would have expected so it was really dry. Overall, was disappointed.

Disappointed. My friends family use to own this place and it was amazing. Unfortunately the new owner has let the quality of this restaurant slide. Their employees that they leave in charge make AWFUL food. The falafel balls are never full. The meat is always dry. The rice is super greasy. The lady seems miserable and doesn't know how to make a pita sandwich properly. The people who work there for minimum wage DO NOT know how to cook middle eastern food. The owners leave the evening shift workers in charge and thats when the food is bad. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I hope the owner will take this review to heart. You need better staff WHO WANT to work there.not staff who make your restaurant go to sh*t.

This place has one of the best falafels I have ever tried, also their chicken shawarma is delicious.
Never had a problem with freshness of the food, and I buy takeout pretty frequently.

Incredible taste and the white sauce is amazing! Don't judge this place by their store front / sign as this is a nice hidden gem in North York. Staff is usually friendly.

Had a lula pita which was very yum, nicely seasoned. I also got the Baba ghanoush to snack on later and that was AMAZING! Smokey, creamy, so flavourful. Unfortunately I don't live nearby, because I'd buy it often!

Rating for food not for ‘atmosphere’ as this is a hole in the wall and doesn’t present itself as anything more (which I love). Don’t let the exterior fool you - Best shawarma in the city hands down. The chicken is juicy AND crispy. The people are friendly. You’re supporting a local business. Make sure to add the eggplant. Game changer.

Used to be a good place for shawarma. Currently under new ownership, we were not impressed with the freshness of the vegetables, the hummus and the chicken shawarma.
After fact we discovered that Dr. Shawarma is on Bathurst Avenue south of Wilson Avenue.

Ordered takeout shawarma dinner, came to pick up - both servers did not have masks or gloves. Potatoes were old and burnt. Will never come again.

WOO amazing Shawarma! This place is SO clean and incredible food. Service is top notch. Hand sanitizer on hand and wet wipes to keep everyone safe. Excellent experience

I'll keep it simple, I am a veteran shawarma eater! This place is very lowkey in location but they do not lack anything their food. You should expect amazing pitas with condiments you dont see everywhere. (Very good quantity for money as well). And if you want a fresh beer they've also got you covered. All in all, my favourite shawarma in toronto. Paramount or Alibaba cannot match this.

I think the new management has kept the quality, but the portions are definitely smaller. A little more potatoes or salad would have made a difference.

Very very delicious. We got the lamb dinner, chicken skewers dinner, lentil soup and baba ganoush and everything was on point.

We had the great experience of having it for lunch at work. The food was all warm and fresh. The falafel was amazing! Great customer service!
